One of my problems is this. Does your pointing say work on this with me or go away? Are you saying for me to head toward next gen now or wait till this one pops and that is the direction we will run?trendyfartknocker said:@Sehkmet said:

As it stands, its hard enough to get people to coop on generators. There's literally no way to communicate in-game aside from a couple of hand gestures and a flashlight click, so there's no way to tell someone "Hey, come work on this with me".

Thanks. I missed part of it as I was working, but with your recap I don't feel I have to watch it to figure out what I missed.

Nod. I didn't even know this section of the forums until Mandy moved another thread to it.FrenziedRoach said:The idea has merit. I'd be curious to see how the devs feel about it.
It's better than the devs idea that the hatch closure powers the gates - I wasn't really sold on that idea for various reasons.

Survivor main here. I personally like NOED being a totem as that one scares me more than any other perk killers have. So much so that I will get off a generator to destroy a inactibated totem rather than chance you running NOED. That said I run it on my Myers char.
That said I told others here I would get start my journey to Rank 1 killer after the rank reset. -
It probably will, but I hope not. while we all won't agree I would prefer them to tell us what they are doing and their thinking behind it. I can much better take an answer that I disagree than the devs just dabbing on the haters.fcc2014 said:Like it matters, the chat will be salty and nothing will get said.

I think you are on the right track. Now my question is at lower tiers hex perks may not affect everyone. Let's say we are in a game as survivors and I am affected by a hex and you are not. The catch is you run across it. Can you cleanse it and have the effect randomly come off one of the affected players? Personally my choice would be first priority comes to me removing curse from myself, but if I see a second one lit up let me cleanse it and randomly remove said curse from teammate.
The only other real downside to not ever destroying a totem would be that would almost give NOED a guaranteed chance to go into effect. -
bah. it is a good idea. If you read my posts I end up playing devil's advocate a lot. Not to discourage people but to get ideas fleshed out a bit. Keep working on it. you may be on the right path
-
Thank goodness. I was worried they might try that mashup crap again for a second week in a row.Giddawid said:Yeah it's a stream today

Not knocking your idea, but that would mean they would have to add a ton of new totems. What if someone were running 2 or 3 totem perks. 3 for argument times 4 survivors would mean as many as 12 lit to start the match with another 4 for NOED. In that scenario you would need 16 totems in the game at the start.
-
Sounds like something a Killer main would say. 😄MineAntoiya said:Some individuals play both yet get called Survivor/Killer mains sadly. No one wants to believe some people think like they do, so they resort to destroying them due to their "stupidity" and such.

I think that is getting way to close to the Pay 2 Win scenario that the game is trying to stay away from
-
It needs something to get me to run it. Don't get me wrong it is a nice perk, but like killers say with BBQ and Chili the timer needs to be extended a bit. By the time I start moving to avoid the killer who started my direction early because of tinkerer, I will hardly have time to spin my camera to see the gens and totem placement.
-
That is incorrect. You, as killer, respect the pallet so you don't get stunned. As you go to break pallet survivor starts healing. Sure I would rather see survivor attempt to get away, but that isn't what they always do. So anyway they healed a (very) little. Run to next pallet and repeat. I don't think it has ever saved a survivor from me, but it adds up. (remember survivor main so not the best killer, but I hold my own)Vietfox said:

Orion said:The problem with Self Care stems from a different problem altogether, which is that injuring Survivors has no significant effect. They can heal an infinite number of times, so the only way you can truly capitalize on that initial hit is by making sure they go down and then die. Self Care is a problem when combined with looping and safe spots, since Survivors can just heal up during a chase.

I kinda get why killers hate DS or SB, but asking for nerfs to SC? Really??
Also for BT? If u dont camp/soft camp BT is not activated.
Some of u wont be happy till survivors run without any single perk.
You shouldn't be able to infinitely heal your self. Especially during a chase. Self care enables reckless gameplay when you should be playing smart.
Right, cause i got 0 deaths on all my playtime thanks to SC, and the healing speed is so OP as well. XD
you could continuously heal over time. heal a little there, heal a bit there. specially during pallet loops.
the smiley doesnt make you sound more clever.
-
I just hope they regress SC and not an immediate drop if you stop healing. I have played with some idiots that will run up, get you to stop healing so they can do it, and then run off. The regression gives some balance and isn't to big of a nerf to SC in my mind, and the benefit is that if it is still over powered the devs can slowly speed up the regression till it gets to a good middle ground
-
Survivor main here, and after a couple of rough games I started to get the hang of it and even got a few ranks last night. That said I would like them to either buff or nerf in seperate patches. Doing this has two main reasons give the side that got the balancing a chance to get used to it, and make sure it doesn't totally break the balance. (I know killers will say ot hasn't ever been balanced, but you don't want to go from 70% survivor sided to 20%)
To my fellow Survivors. Give the patch some time. Killers got a lot of love, but we got some upgraded perks as well. It is just going to take some time to get used to. -
I agree. Gets to close to the Pay to Win area.

Doubt it, since Labor Day is an American holiday, but wondering if they would do the event that weekend.

I think you mean IMPROVE flashlights, and if a short delay will improve them, then I am all for it. 😊RemoveSWF said:Remove flashlights.
Anyway as I said in another thread I expect to see an increase in flashlights after the DS adjustment. -
No idea about the flashlighting from the side being slipped in. Anyway I hate flashlights. As a killer it feels like every survivor blinds me, and as a survivor I have only gotten the stun off if killer was breaking a pallet. Didn't know how toxic that was seen at the time. Anyway after the DS nerf you can bet I will be practicing with them.Envees said:@Russ76 said:
The catch is Killers hate flashlights. I am no exception when I am playing killer. But with the DS nerf coming soon the number of flashlights is bound to go up. Not trying to be toxic just facing reality. I have never run DS other than when I was trying to get my adept, but after the change goes into effect I will make sure one of the survivors has a flashlight, and if no one has one you can bet I will carry it.This was my prediction. Killer is animation locked by DS and can only spin in circles for what will be an eternity while the vultures with multiple flashlights will blind from all angles. Killers are already questioning if being blinded from the side was "slipped" in since i have seen clips of nearly blocked frontal areas yet the survs were able to blind. They only had the chance to blind from the side and it worked.

I agree the tunneling is real. The other day I was playing and the killer tunneled so I took advantage of that. I made a save and then was able to get into the doorway between the killer and guy I saved. The killer literally tried to get through that doorway for 10 seconds. I know he saw me as I was standing up. After about 4 tries of trying to get past men he finally hits me. I run off and he goes after the survivor that had been hooked and was long gone.
I try not to tunnel but I am also a rank 18 killer. That said I do try to punish the guy who does the saving, but the minute I hook him the debt has been paid and I move on. (that said after August reset I will work toward becoming a rank 1 killer so I can better understand their complaints)
. -
@Scourge I siad somewhere else I don't think they will have a summer event. I might be wrong, but I think I remember reading they got so bogged down in the DLC that they couldn't get a summer event completed. I hope I am wrong as I would love another event, but don't have my hopes up.
Anyway that said, I would take the safer route and just exchange passwords vs the save files. (Even that probably isn't 100% safe but safer in my opinion) -
One of the problems is that once put into a Killer Lobby they are no longer seen as SWF, but as solo players. Granted this is all what I have gathered from a post by SWF asking to stay together after a match and the response was they couldn't as once put into a killer's lobby the players were all seen, by the game, as solos.
That said I think it will be easier to balance the game (even if it is slow) than make a HUGE change to programming to keep SWF showing as a group.
Now please keep the flaming and toxicity, to my response, to a minimum as I am just calling it as I see it and not bashing your idea to mark them, just trying to be logical about it. -
As I said before, it may not be a perfect solution but I like you thinking about it and the civil descussion being had.
-
and very possibly. but at least this gives the killer/survivor a chance rather than just stand around twiddling thumbs.Thatbrownmonster said:I like this but still feel hatch stand offs would still be a thing

Killers will hate giving up a perk slot to get that, but not a bad idea. You could also set it to the more gens that need to be finished the more time their auras are to be seen. (3 gens to go 9 seconds, 2 gens then 6 seconds, 1 gen to go then 3 seconds)Troylus said:@Russ76 said:

* Closing the hatch reveals the aura of the survivor for a few seconds. Killer is now on the way!I think you should state what a few seconds is. My thought is give them 6 seconds as I have heard Killers say they can hardly spin around in less time.
I would say give the survivors a sound so they know it got closed.
Give the hatch a time limit on how long it is there.. let's say 5 mins and if neither side found it close it and start a new hatch. (saw a picture of a bugged hatch on the game map... ie it was barely showing under a wall.. Survivor couldn't use it and killer wouldn't be able to close it)
I think these are good observations. Resetting an unfound hatch after a set amount of time would prevent bugs like the example you gave.
Also, I think the amount of time that a survivor's aura is revealed upon closing a hatch is a good variable to test. Heck, you could even make a perk out of it!
Default time = 3 seconds. Perk: Door of Doom - Closing the hatch now reveals the remaining survivor's aura for and additional 3 / 6 / 9 seconds.
To be honest, I have no idea what should be done about the hatch. I think it is needed for those times killers just decimate the survivor team, otherwise you have 1 survivor with 3 gens left to do, who loses hope and just DCs. In my opinion, the hatch gives survivors and killers both something to work for.
I do like the idea of you brainstorming, now if only the devs would come by the forums more often. (if the devs do take your idea I would love to see them give you credit. maybe your name graffiti art style on a wall.) -
I will do my part. Starting after the August reset I will main killer and get him to rank 1 (even if it takes a coupke of months) Can't do it till then as my schedule isn't allowing for enough gameplay time until then.
anyone else willing to join me in maining side which you normally avoid? -

I run technician a lot. I do wish that instead of it protecting from my failed skill checks it would protect me from the failed skill checks of others. Nothing more frustrating to me than to have someone run up on a gen to help me and immediately blowing the generator I was on.

There are files for a Summer BBQ (at least there were in the PTB build), special generators (drink dispensing carts), Hooks, and token icons (BBQd meat for killers, Margarita drinks for survivors) and cosmetics (Kate Top + Hillbilly weapon).
Could be an abandoned event if they did get too caught up in 2.0 though. -

I disagree. Some people will always camp, just as some people will always Tbag. I do think game balance will help though.JFox said:-Yes, Camping is annoying but it's the easiest way to do kills, if the game was totally balanced, camping wouldn't exist
I also agree we should all be working toward the same thing and that is a fun, drama free, game. -
It is a fun thought, but the devs have enough issues with straightforward maps. I don't think they could do a variable map very well. IE. you will see survivors start through a window only to have it close on them and have no way of getting out of the window.
-
I don't want this to be an us vs them thread.
Survivor DCs hurt us as survivors as well. I played a game early this morning and about 20 seconds into the match we had the first DC. now I am not saying this was intentional, but it immediately meant we had 5 gens for 3 survivors.
about 15 seconds after the first DC we had the second DC.
The shirtless David and I tried to continue on, but 2 vs 5 gens (including Hag's Hex) just wasn't a fair fight.
I did send the killer a message saying GG and it wasn't his fault for the 2 DCs.
All that said I do think there should be a punishment for excessive DCs. Personally I would like it to be 3 DCs and you can't play till shrine reset. -
bah. it is on the roadmap, just no eta. We don't even have a soon and we know how well that is working out for the Curtain Call DLC on PS4 Asia.PinkEricka said:

It's a teeny little bit bullshit to see the killers do the electric slide and whisk you onto the hook while you sit at 100% wiggle meter. -
In all my games (and I am at something like 23 days played) I have only seen sabo work maybe 5 times. I can see how it can be frustrating, but as long as you didn't sabo lunar hook it is just part of the game. That said when you do pull sabo off it feels amazing.
When it gets used on me I often drop the person I am carrying to focus on the saboteur, and if I sabotage someone I expect to be tunneled. -
Do me a favor and tell me what you mean by tryhard toxic behavior. I have a definition in my mind but want to make sure we are on the same page so we can have a real discussion.MegaWaffle said:@Russ76 said:
Just an idea. Looking for feedback, not toxicity. What about allowing perks based on ranks? The better rank the higher level perks you can use.
Rank 1 to 5 you can use any perks that you own.
Rank 6 to 10 purple color teachables (for that character) and any green perks.
Rank 11 to 15 green color teachables (for that character) and any yellow perks
Rank 15 to 20 yellow color perks only.
When I say teachables I am referring to that character specific, so if I want SB and SC I would at least have to get to rank 15 and then even then one would have to be yellow.
Would something like this get you to rank up? or would people just stay with lower perks?
(if I didn't explain myself well, let me know that as well. Writing this up on my phone while I do a Continuing Education course on my computer)
The game isn't balanced for a ranking system and people already rage quit when the game isn't going there way. If you add a reason to rank you simply breed more "tryhard toxic" behavior with more rage quits and toxic de-pip squads. I think rank should be removed!

Assuming you are on PC. If someone said that stuff to me I would report in game AND on Xbox. That said we do need a new reporting system or at least someone to look onto the (few) reports they do get.
