Blame the survivor mains. They are the ones who always start the 'us vs. them' debacle.

There's no us vs them here. I simply state objective facts, and the killer mains don't like it, so they call for back up.

This thread was about sharing an Ingame Code for BP. That’s it.

  • @Balrog When you have a moment from your event…just close my thread out please. I was trying to be nice by posting the BP code but people will turn anything into a war zone for no reason.

I don't even think she needs a full rework she just needs to be reverted to her previous strength (keep stealth on recall tho) she wasn't even that insane unless you played chess merchant which was removed when the gen kick limit became a thing.

I would agree. It's more of a dework that we want. Although I don't like stealth on recall. It needs to go back to how it was before the change.

I‘m playing on ps5 and I really don‘t understand why the devs make such a big drama out of the chat function for console.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BOV3IZ9JMSHC/image.jpeg

I just want to be able to communicate! There is nothing wrong to take a bit longer to write out stuff. If people don‘t want to wait, so be it, but it is actually manageable to write on the console TV keyboard thing. Apex, Minecraft, Texas and other games have it and I can write what I want just fine.

I don‘t need any improvements or anything fancy. I just want to get the ability to write and interact with people in the post/pre game and in the lobby. After all it still is not possible to contact someone you found in game to maybe play with them.

    What are your thoughts?💭

Most of us have keyboards. It’s not complicated. They just need to let us chat. 💬

  • They did 2 separate preview designs for skull merchant.

BHVR did this so the community could get a feel for the rework and see if it’s going to ultimately be a good fit for her and the survivors.

Sadly it was scrapped because it was more Projectile/Dash Slop. We wanted to steer away from that bc keeping her idenity is more important. Gadgets, high tech, trap playstyle. It’s unique.

BHVR settled for minor buffs to her basekit and said if it wasn’t enough or if the community wasn’t satisfied they would put resources into a rework.

That’s where we are at now. We want a rework. She’s in a bad spot and has been for a long time. She needs a full revamp.

This would obviously never happen though as it would show how bad of a problem the game currently has with dc's and abandons and we need that swept up lol

Kinda the same reason we only see "highest" killer kill rates and not just all of them.

Long time no see my friend ❤️

Yeah the nerd in me wants to see the kill rates for every killer.

Killers should only be able to hook survivors twice on the same hook. Hooks should have a limit on the number of survivors they can hook. Like when you used to hook, it would break. Why not now? Because there are too many hooks now, you can never free yourself. Furthermore, taking excellent tests while freeing yourself has no benefit.

Hook limits used to exist and they were removed for a reason. Killers already have to fight strong survivor tools; they don’t need their win condition randomly turned off mid‑game. If you make hooks break again or cap their uses, all you’re doing is encouraging even more camping/tunneling and making the game miserable for killers and solo queue survivors.

    Nobody benefits from this.

Pallets are a very scarce non renewable resource and the benefit to hitting stuns which can be easily respected and baited does not feel like they give the value they are supposed to give. With break speed being buffed awhile ago and a majority of killers having abilities to play around or even flat out destroy pallets, pallets are very easy to bypass on the killer side and have been neglected to get compensated.

Respectfully, I hard disagree. Pallets are already one of the strongest resources in the game – most maps have plenty, and good survivors can drag a chase forever with them.

Killers having tools to play around pallets doesn’t mean pallets are weak, it just means there’s actual counterplay. If anything, a lot of killers still feel like they’re playing ‘break 30 pallets simulator’ every match. (M1 killers specifically, since I mostly play that.)

  • There’s a thread open for this conversation already. You should move your comment to that thread :)

No its not as its about the same size as Fallen Refuge that is among the smallest maps in the game. You just feel like it is because its more claustrophopic than Fallen Refuge. Good example is that Treatment Theatre is smallest map in the game and it feels way bigger than it is because its indoor map. Same effect happens with Trickster's Delusion.

I find it really hard to believe that Tricksters map is one of the smallest maps in the game. Truthfully.

There used to be a counter to this perk which was Deerstalker. I used this perk specifically against this but oh, wait, it got reworked.

Yeah, no, change Plot Twist immediately. This is not healthy whatsoever.

“This isn’t healthy whatsoever” is wild over Plot Twist of all things 😂

It’s a meme perk half the time. If a survivor wants to flop around at a pallet at 0 hook states, that’s a skill issue on their side, not mine as killer. Deerstalker getting reworked didn’t secretly turn Plot Twist into some unstoppable god perk lol.

Something being allowed doesn't make it OK or justified. I am not asking you to not win, I'm not asking you to not tunnel or slug in general, and I am not asking you to not take every advantage you can to win the match, I am only asking that you not slug for the 4k because you have already won at that point and it creates an unnecessary bad experience for the slugged player.

I don't know you and frankly I don't want to. When its as incredibly simple as it is to just not slug for the 4k in consideration of the slugged player then yes I think it reflects poorly on you as a person. You can call it moralizing all you want, your actions reflect poor character.

Cool, then we’re done here. You’re free to think slugging for a 4k reflects ‘poor character.’ I think claiming you can judge stranger’s empathy and worth as people over how they use intended mechanics in a horror game reflects poor boundaries.

We clearly have different lines; I’m comfortable with mine. Respectfully, I won’t be continuing this conversation due to our difference of opinion.

A survivor slugged and waiting to move on is automatically more important than the killer choosing to leave them there so they can finish their arbitrarily decided goals. Find me someone that enjoys or wants to be slugged for the 4k. As you can see from this thread it isn't my personal preference, its an obvious flaw in the games design that is generally despised. A flaw that you are perfectly OK with solely because it benefits you and your personal desires. You have one player being forced to wait until another player does what they want while that second player is literally the one forcing the first player to wait. If you can't see the difference between those two players and why one of those could be more important than the other then you are beyond help.

You have a choice in the situation and every choice a person makes is a reflection of what sort of person they are, if you are not willing to consider the perspective of the slugged survivor then you lack empathy. It really is that simple and is not overreaching, you are prioritizing yourself over another when the gain to you is minuscule. It is just a game so I'm not going to claim the slugged survivor is enduring any real torment or anything like that but its incredibly simple for you to just not do that and doing so when the gain to you is minuscule is you being selfish.

None of this is overreach, its basic human decency.

You keep presenting your personal preferences as if they’re universal truths. You’ve decided the slugged survivor is ‘automatically more important’ and that any killer who doesn’t share that hierarchy ‘lacks empathy’ and is ‘beyond help.’ That’s not basic human decency, that’s you moralizing a playstyle you dislike.

Both sides are players. Both have goals. The game allows slugging, rewards 4ks, and has never stated that survivors desire to leave faster is inherently more important than a killer’s desire to secure an extra kill.

You’re absolutely entitled to hate being slugged and to call it bad design, if they come out with a better design of course I am ALL for that..What you’re not entitled to do is use that dislike to declare people ‘selfish’ or ‘lesser’ as human beings for using a legitimate mechanic in a horror game.

Also, just to be clear: I don’t mind people criticizing design or saying ‘this isn’t fun for me.’ I do mind being told that my empathy or basic decency is lacking because I use a mechanic the game allows. You don’t know me, and it’s not appropriate to make those kinds of character judgments over how someone plays a horror game.

Bloodpoints and "satisfaction" (face it, ego) are external to the match itself and do not provide a gameplay benefit to the match. It does not make you more likely to win or make the match harder to win for the survivors. You got a 3k, you won, arbitrarily deciding that you only win with a 4k is a you problem and I don't see how it is anything other than ego driven and selfish.

I understand doing it for rift/tome challenges but also want those to be changed to not require a 4k and if we are talking about a personal challenge that is external to the game and therefore should not be taken into account. Again, you would get more bloodpoints by finishing the match more quickly and moving onto your next match, OnePumpWillie has even done the math on this or at least has claimed to.

You are actively forcing someone to wait with little to do instead of them being allowed to move on for your own "satisfaction." You are just trying to justify forcing someone else to wait while you get to do as you please (entitled and selfish). It doesn't have to be a big ego trip, its still you feeling entitled to a 4k to the detriment of another players ability to move on, that isn't OK and should not be something the game allows. Slugging for the 4k should be considered holding the game hostage, you are actively choosing to circumvent the intended endgame designed by the devs.

Asking you to have some empathy for the slugged player and being considerate to them isn't me projecting values, its me asking you to be a better person than the selfishness you are clearly displaying.

I think you’re massively overreaching here, respectively.

You keep trying to frame “I like closing out a 4k” as some moral failing, but at the end of the day we’re all just using the tools the game gives us to pursue our own goals. You don’t get to declare that the only acceptable goals are the ones that let someone leave the match a bit sooner.

A 3k is a win for you, cool and it is for me too. For me, a 4k feels like fully closing out the trial. Complete…That I just spent 10–15 minutes in. That’s my win condition. The game itself tracks 4ks, designs tome/rift challenges around 4ks, and showers extra bloodpoints on kills, so pretending the only “real” gameplay benefit is speed‑running into your next lobby is just your personal preference dressed up as fact.

Also, survivors “waiting to move on” are not automatically more important than the killer finishing their own goal. Both sides are players. Both sides are allowed to value different things. You’re calling other people entitled while insisting your preferred experience should override theirs.

Slugging for a 4k is not “holding the game hostage” unless I’m deliberately refusing to end the match for several minutes with no intention of progressing the state of the game. Using slugging, pressure, and timing to secure a kill before hatch or the last gen is literally part of how this game is designed to be played. (To be clear I don’t run all slug builds and slug out all 4 survivors.)

You’re absolutely projecting values when you label anyone who doesn’t share your priorities as “selfish” or “not a better person.” You’re free to dislike slugging or to leave when you see it, but you don’t get to turn a legitimate playstyle in an asymmetrical horror game into some kind of character test.

  • @FerrousFacade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085378#Comment_4085378

There is nothing wrong with playing for different goals until those goals are actively detrimental to someone else without there being a real gameplay benefit to you. The only thing you gain from a 4k over a 3k is a tiny amount of bloodpoints that you probably would have gotten faster by getting into and completing your next match sooner.

You enjoy the feeling of a full shutdown because of your ego, it doesn't have to live or die on the number but its still your ego driving that feeling. You're right that there isn't anything wrong with that until you remember there is someone just waiting for the match to finish so they can move on. If you know where the survivor is or the second last survivor is already on hook I see no reason not to go for the 4k but going out of your way to leave someone slugged to ensure a 4k is a problem.

I’m gonna be honest, this just feels like you’re projecting your own values onto everyone else. You don’t care about the difference between a 3k + hatch and a 4k, cool…but that doesn’t mean nobody else can enjoy the shutdown without it being some huge ego trip.

There absolutely is gameplay benefit for some of us – more bloodpoints, more satisfaction, feeling like you actually closed out the trial you invested 10–15 minutes into, not to mention certain side objectives I am also trying to complete.

And survivors “waiting for the match to finish so they can move on” is not automatically more important than the killer finishing their own win condition. Both sides are playing the same game, both sides are allowed to have goals.

As long as I am not holding the game hostage or griefing, playing for a 4k is just as valid as playing for hatch or escape – you don’t get to declare one side’s goals “detrimental” just because you don’t share them and that’s okay.

  • @Valuetown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085126#Comment_4085126

3k is a win, hatch means absolutely nothing. There's nothing stopping the killer from hooking the 3rd survivor. The only people slugging for 4k's are killer mains who tie their entire ego with being a good killer player lol.

This just isn't true at all, at least for me. I enjoy my 4ks because I enjoy my bloodpoints and the feeling of a full shutdown, not because my ego lives or dies on a number.

There are absolutely times where I don’t slug for the 4k because it’s boring or I want the game to move on. Acting like every killer who plays for a 4k is some fragile ego main is just as silly as saying every survivor who goes for hatch is a tryhard sweatlord. People play for different goals, and both 3k + hatch and 4k are valid win conditions. There’s nothing wrong with that.

This probably won't happen so in the meantime if you flick your camera up and slowly move it down on the object it instantly snaps onto it this can work with overlapping objectives sometimes if you move a bit to the left or right before hand

It’s still a pain in the butt to do this…it takes up way too much time and it’s not user friendly.

Feedback is still good to leave on the table. Even if the killer has a low pick rate. Singularity had a very low pick rate himself and still does but that went up when BHVR adjusted him to make him less frustrating to play as.

  • As a P100 Singularity. (My hidden main) I think he’s in a great spot actually. The small buffs and QOL they did to his kit was really good. They made him a hell of a lot less frustrating to play while still keeping most of his skill ceiling.

If I would adjust anything about him it would be a few of his addons. That’s about all.

  • @pidgeon said:

Let me be clear: I like being fun and nodding when the survivor nods and pointing and whatnot but just because I do that doesn't mean I don't want to win I have never once loaded into any game where you are meant to kill people and people get mad at you for.. Killing them?

Im bringing this up because I genuinely hate it how I can wait in a 5-20 minute queue and after waiting so long to play the game I'm met with friendly survivors who refuse to play the game. Or ill nod once then people will take that as an invitation to not play the game.

Its even worse when I'm playing survivor and I want to take chase for a bit and the killer wants to be friendly but since I can't down everybody in 2 minutes and abandon I'm forced to do gens for 5-8 minutes with zero interaction between both sides.

You're going to run into that. Just load up the game and play how you want to play.

  • Deliverance is a one time use and make your broken does it not? It also can only be used on first hook?

A nerf is wild to a perk you might not even get to use if you get hooked first. LOL

It's no secret Houndmaster has a lot of problems, but right now I'd like to focus on just one: the annoying clunkiness of her targeting system.

Trying to get her to lock on to a specific generator can be absolutely agonising, especially when you accidentally lock on to the wrong thing and need to waggle your mouse around for approximately the length of the Cretaceous era to unstick it. To fix that, I suggest that Houndmaster have a dedicated button for cycling between every highlighted object currently on screen without needing to manually aim.

Say there are two generators and a totem currently on screen, and they're all positioned with a little overlap. Press a button (probably rb on controller, I was playing her yesterday and that wasn't used while aiming for anything) and it'll auto-lock on to one generator, then the other, then the totem, then the first generator again, so you can more smoothly select your target without awkward fiddling.

I'm sure something like this could be done, and it'd definitely make her feel a lot better to play without giving her more than she's already supposed to have.

Fully agree with this, especially the ‘Cretaceous era’ part 😭 the targeting is so much more clunky than it needs to be and a cycle button like you suggested would help a ton. I’d also love a quick ‘recall’ button so if you accidentally target something dumb across the map you can just bring snug back without having to stress with him so far away.

Little QoL things like that would go a long way toward making her power feel as smooth as it looks on paper.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

I wish she would get some legendary skill that will make her actually look good…
Something like Were-elk skin for her and change dog to wolf, that would be sick.

Otherwise definetly needs tons of bugfixing and Snug's pull is sometimes hilariously bad. I had many times where he was pulling away from me for some reason (there wasn't even pallet between us).
I don't even need to pull them towards me much, more like at least keep them in place properly.

Overall using her power can be very fun with high skill ceiling, I love to try flicks with her. But I really don't like her overall estetics and she is very buggy…
She is definetly my number one disappointing chapter. I was so hyped for doggy as power just to get this…

Yeah I am with you on the bugs and Snug’s pull 😅 I actually really like her pirate look though and kinda wish they’d just give her more pirate variants instead of a full were-elk transformation(IMHO) However I want a legendary for her for sure! :)

Main thing for me is just please let the dog actually grab people instead of politely suggesting “Oh hey, I am trying to move you. Also she’s a Cane Corso, not a chihuahua in a sweater — she should be ragdolling people, not gently suggesting they take a step in my direction 😭

  • Myers was pretty awful. His rework was terrible.

Filling deadzones with pallets that are horrifically unsafe is the same as having no pallet at all.

Unless you want every pallet to be super strong, simply nerfing pallet density would be a terrible change for survivor unless it was balanced with loop strength or map strength, two things killers also hate.

I don't see a fair solution being proposed, so it just comes across as wanting to heavily nerf survivors for nothing.

I am not sure why you would imply this.

I didn't say that we should fill those zones in with unsafe or super safe pallets. It would be pallets that survivors can actually use because that is the point. However if its too unsafe or super safe. It would be poor design.

This isn't a complicated topic so I am not sure why it keeps coming back up in terms of feedback of course other than the frustrations its causing which I understand….The entire point of pallet density was create less deadzones on maps for survivors which NEEDED to happen. There were way too many and there shouldn't be.

However, stacking 5 decent to safe pallets slammed all next to Shack, isn't exactly what the game needed. Its in same cases the pallets that spawn like that are still spawning in with a map filled with pallets no matter where you go such as MacMillan Maps. However, in some cases some maps are spawning pallets all on mostly one side while leaving a separate section completely bare.

  • @Wyndsor said:

If they gut pallet density, then they need to add more windows, make maps bigger, and remove short/short loops.

Which I have a feeling wouldn't be approved of either, so what is the solution here?

The solution was to not stack pallets on pallets. Just fill in your deadzones and make sure your Spawn Logic actually spawns pallets evenly across the board for survivors so they have a fair chance no matter what part of the map they are on.

  • To be clear, Pallet Density should have been designed to fill in the specific deadzones of certain maps. Not create "The Game" for most maps.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/468072/pallet-density-is-definitely-a-problem

Added videos. The 1st one shows what i'm talking about where there were 20 pallets, all within 10-15 meters of each other.

The second video shows a bunch in one area, then still a massive deadzone on the other side of the map of just nothing, but then stacked all the pallets on one half of the map.

The 3rd video i stood in a few spots with zanshin and counted legit 10 pallets all around me within a 32 meter radius.

    That is insane man.

Yeah MacMillan is excessive. This realm is the most problematic in my opinion. Every possible tile/loop has a pallet. Every filler area, has a pallet.

The spawn logic of the pallets isn't great either as you said. One side of the map Pallet City. The other side. Barebones.

  • @Reinami said:

I just got out of a match where it was just pallet into pallet into pallet. Literally pallets like 10 meters apart. I think i counted at least 25 pallets.

I'm gonna record a match here and upload give me a hot minute.

They say "Its all working as intended" I don't see the vision but that's just me. There were a lot of maps that had horrible deadzones, most of that has been fixed at least.

  • The perk is good. To buff this perk they just need to reduce its cooldown. That's all. Maybe narrow in the field of view a bit.

Another issue is that all 3 of her perks suck. That is yet another turn-off point, because some people (like me) also evaluate how good the perks are before buying. Her hex is one of, if not THE worst in the game, Ravenous has the old Grim Embrace problem, and Wandering Eye is riddled with conditions.

So, all she has are her (frankly amazing) looks and lore. But, you can look at her in the store and read her lore without owning her, so.…

I second this. Unforunately. Her design just isn't it. Infect. Dash. Infect. Dash.

Yeah him saying there is an infinite and not saying what that infinite is really as saying the "main building" does not tell you anything than the infinite is on his opinion in it. You have quite many ways you can run that building and none of the ways you can run it is an infinite if the killer does not let the survivors make it one. You can make shack an infinite if the killer lets survivor make it in to one but its not automatically infinite.

Yeah that’s why I had to call it out on your behalf.

I want to hear what people think of Kaneki

What they like, and what they don't like.

I'll begin, his leap cooldown when not attacking is awfully low. Why on earth does he has the right to come super fast to you, get a 0.5sec cooldown and hit you for free.

Tbh, it's the only thing bugging me about him

Im with you on this 100%. His leap cooldown is actually ridiculous, he just zooms across half the map, and still gets to swing at you for free a second later.

If he’s going to have that much mobility, he shouldn’t also get baby‑low recovery on top of it, it makes playing against him feel more annoying.

I do like his character design and music though! Amazing and well done.

I remember a while ago, a bunch of interactions with killer powers and flashlights were removed. You couldn't lightburn the wraith or nurse anymore, and you couldn't remove hag's traps with the flashlight (but you can now wipe them away). I think these were good changes, though honestly keeping the lightburn mechanic for just the nurse would be a fun way to keep some skill expression, instead of giving her what is somewhat of a buff.

But, there is still an interaction with nemesis' zombies. If you want them to stop harassing you, you can only do so if you have a flashlight, by blinding them. There doesn't seem to be any other way other than wasting a bunch of time getting them to follow you and then wasting a pallet on them. So why is this interaction still in the game?

I get where you’re coming from. Zombies can be super annoying to deal with as survivor when you don’t have a flashlight, and wasting a pallet on them feels awful but of course necessary to fight him off from getting hit. (Keep in mind though the trade off is the zombie takes much longer to spawn back then if Nemmy killed the zombie)

I do think they should look at adding another counterplay option that doesn’t hard‑require a specific item, but i’d still want them to keep zombies threatening enough that nemesis doesn’t get accidentally nerfed into the ground.

What if, at the beginning of the map, we can see all the totems and select any one of them to make it hex?

It will add more depth to the game and make the hex perks more useful, and maybe being able to save a hex perk for a specific time adds more strategies to do, and if you can choose which one any time, that makes the survivors break all the totems (more things to do, less gen-rushing) and adds more value to "Hex: Pentimento".

I really like this concept. Some hex totems spawn in super obvious, out-in-the-open spots right now, so giving killers a way to choose a better totem would make those perks feel way less RNG‑dependent.

Being able to pick and maybe even time when it becomes hex would add a lot of depth for both sides, and it would naturally encourage survivors to do more totem cleansing or be aware of totem locations at the very least incase the killer might have a hex perk.

Edit: I put this in the wrong place and it won't let me move it. Pretend it's suggestions and feedback 💔

This is a weird comparison but MultiVersus had a thing where you can give players 'toast' at the end of a game to basically say "yay gg great job pal" and recipient were notified of it and get a little bit currency. I think giving someone the thumbs up at the match results screen should give a notification and maybe like 25000 bp or something

I totally agree with this. Right now the thumbs up at the end screen feels kind of pointless because the other player never knows you sent it and you don’t get anything for it. If it popped up as a little “ggs! someone appreciated you” notification and gave a small bp bonus, i’d use it way more and it’d make the system actually feel rewarding instead of just a hidden button.
