It would be extremely effective against bully squads, sure, but if Dissolution was that powerful, it would be in every single game. As for your point about it not working against stealth killers, with that in mind, if Dissolution was so strong, more and more players would start just playing killers like Blight, Ghoul, or Wesker, as they would get incredible value from Dissolution with their massive terror radius. On top of that, you'd see a large increase on killers running Distressing, Monitor & Abuse, and Starstruck. Those perks with Distressing would be a guaranteed win pretty much every time. It just wouldn't be fair.

No matter how you justify it, the perk Dissolution in the state you're suggesting would be completely broken. You say it only lasts for 20 seconds, but if the duration resets every time a survivor is hit, it would often go on for over a minute. Again, it would be insanely broken, as it would completely remove survivor's main counter play against killer. You're suggestion isn't balanced one bit. There are reasons certain perks are the way they are. The reason for Dissolution being the way it is is that it simply would not be a good addition to the game if it was that powerful.

but perks like vigil, ghost notes and finesse are fair ?

  • @KytLuna said:

If Dissolution worked that way, then survivors just would never be able to vault a pallet. It would be a huge mis-balancing issue and would be reverted/nerfed almost immediately. Having it work like Rapid Brutality would be a huge mistake. The only reason it works for Rapid Brutality is because Rapid is pretty bad.

it would help to stop survivors from crowding the killer, it would be very helpful against bully squads that want to sabo hooks, flash light/bang saves, body blocking etc. it only last for 20 seconds and it only works when you injure survivors AND it takes 3 seconds for it to activate so a survivor can pre drop a pallet take the hit vault it immediately after and I get no value. It also only works when you have a terror radius so it dosnt work with stealth killers/perks. Survivors can also counter it by slow vaulting, and also the perk lithe helps counter disillusion as well.

  • she’s still a pretty strong killer, I understand the frustration you have my friend because yes she is very buggy, and I’ve personally have witnessed these bugs playing as her and while I’ve watched you play on a stream. Hopefully they fix her soon and fix my skull merchant AND hopefully they both get added to 2v8 very soon so we can play our mains together.

  • you can’t have them nerf a killer because of brain dead teammates. Sorry

  • I love the different sounds they make when it’s different surfaces It’s just so good, I kinda don’t like the sound when it’s them running on grass, but maps like Leroy, RPD omg I would feel like such a diva like the high school principal walking down the hall with her heels 👠 I love it

  • @cogsturning said:

They're not high-heeled, but have you heard the clip clop of the shoes on Felix from the techwear cosmetic? They're both satisfying and anxiety-inducing, as I'm pretty sure the killer can hear me tap dancing from across the map.

tbh I low key purposely love wearing heels with cute outfits cuz I want the killer to see how pretty I look before I die 🤣

  • it’s very sad and skull merchant isn’t the only killer, it just unfortunate because she went from being a really strong killer to now a joke, people don’t take skull merchant seriously anymore and she gets bullied.

  • yes it is very unfortunate because I’ve waited so long for this skin just to be disappointed but what’s worse is that I still purchased it, smh.

  • Freddy also need his buff, I really appreciate all the content perk changes reworks and chapter releases but how can they keep releasing all this new content before fixing current issues, Freddie’s buff/rework should’ve been done ages ago

  • her nerfs were not needed, the changes I suggested would be better for the community

Personally I am not certain if the Bat is strong enough to warrant survivors being invisible. You still need to shift to another form to attack, and survivors can vault back if you try following them through windows.

If it was purely a way to avoid survivors holding W from you, that would already be a strong power.

I actually agree with that too, when I heard there was a killer vampire coming I was hoping he would have something like AI bats around the map kinda like nemesis to be used for intel and they can also swarm/injure survivors as well, I like everything else about the killer though 😊

what make you think they won't gut her? if you think back to any unfun for survivor, they have always consistently gutted characters that were perceived as unfun.

    Examples:

Spirit with no sound in phase-walk → Considered unfun

    Deathslinger quickscope → Considered unfun

Freddy with -Action speed build → Considered unfun

Wraith with extended lunge and All-seeing blood →Considered unfun

Billy with 2 charge reduction speed add-on → Considered unfun

Clown with Exposed pinky finger & Tonic blinding → Considered unfun

—-Almost every aspect of skull merchant kit on forum has been complained about.
    • Her haste gets complained about because it throws survivors off on distancing, Wow almost like you need adapt to the killer.
    • Her hindered gets complained about because you have to Leave loops
    • Her free injured mechanic+Broken status effect from trap gets complained about Leave loops
    • Her lock-on not regressing gets complained about due to 3 gens/War of Attrition.
    • Her stealth is complained about because her footsteps are silent.
    • Her drones get complained about because they automatic re-arm themselves every 45 seconds creating secondary objective and people complain about how she can replace disabled drones.
All those aspects make her good. First two make her good at chase. The last two give her map control and pressure. The middle two make her 3 gen and her stealth very good. The only thing i haven't seen anyone complain about for skull merchant is her radar.

I don’t agree with 3 gen because she cannot camp gens like she used to at all, so 3 gen isn’t a reason to complain especially with the gen kicking mechanics they implemented, only thing that I think needs to be removed is the deep wound status affect and the broke status affect, everything else honestly should remain the same

Of course I'm hung up on queue times. The only role I'm able to play without an absurd wait is 2v8 survivor. Which is also the role I'm least interested in.

I'm not usually one to jump on the "X, Y, or Z will kill the game" train, but if 2v8 becomes permanent I actually truly think it'll put DbD on its last legs. I'm entirely ready to walk away if 2v8 is here to stay. There's other games out there that I could play that actually respect my time instead of making me wait 10 minutes for a match.

then bye 👋 people who truly love this game and appreciate what the devs do will still be here and play the game

  • It’s not our fault that killers want to play with friends, the killer mains that have no friends is not our fault you’re load times are so long, they can add bots to speed up the queue times honestly, same for killer bots, like how the tutorial is or something but this game mode is amazing and should definitely be permanent

  • they can take away deep wound and broken in my opinion, but they need to keep haste, hindered and undetectable since haste and undetectable was apart of her original design anyways.

  • @WolfyWood said:

Hopefully she gets gutted and drops in playrate

hopefully she gets even stronger and becomes the strongest killer 😘

  • ABSOLUTELY!

  • Wanting to give her an extended lunge is the main reason why she needs to be 4.6 because if you do miss the survivor gets a lot of distance especially if it’s near a loop, so no she doesn’t need an extended lunge she needs to be 4.6, she cannot be compared to nurse, blight has his rush he’s 4.6 trapped has his traps he’s 4.6 onryo, dredge they can teleport they are 4.6 trickster is ranged and they buffed him to 4.6 because of made for this so why can’t hag be 4.6

I’ve literally said that this isn’t the case since MFT and Trickster received changes in the same update, how can this make sense to you?

then why is he 4.6? He should be 4.4 thank you

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/415322/slugging-bleeding-out

So I'm a bit hazy on this. You say he started to "Tunnel" at 5 Gens, slugging you and another Survivor. How is the Killer tunneling if he was chasing two different Survivors, even going so far as to down them? You go on to say you were the only two still alive at four Gens. So that means the Killer also went and downed (and sacrificed) two other Survivors. I don't think you know what "Tunneling" means.

There are plenty of anti-slugging mechanics. Most of them of are Perks and if you feel this is a problem you can take precautions against it. Moreover, if a Killer is slugging, it means that other Survivors have a chance to pick people up off the ground. Happens every day, thousands of times a day. Slugging Killers are often their own worst enemy.

In regards to the Killer choosing to "bleed you out," that is a rather unfortunate behavior and I've seen it now and then. It is hardly a common thing. Some Killers slug you down to see if anyone is going to get up. After all, they don't know what Perks you have. Getting you all down, waiting for someone to jump up, allows the Killer to maximize points and get another chase and down in with minimal risk. Some Killers slug and then go around breaking walls and cleaning up pallets. Points are points. Some are just rude. All that said, it isn't a big deal and it isn't taking the game hostage because you will bleed out. You have made a mountain out of a molehill.

the fact that you think slugging two survivors at 4 gens until we both bleed out isn’t an issue is disgusting to me. And yes I know what tunneling is he tunneled out the first two survivors 123 out and me and the other survivor that were left we didn’t get hooked not once and he just left us on the ground at 4 gens even if we did have unbreakable he would’ve still left us on the ground. Points are points? No sir that is foul to just leave the last two survivors on the ground I even crawled right infront of hook and he just shook his head no and kept ringing his bell, that was toxic behavior and it should be punishable. What you said is typical killer main mentality and it’s not right slugging all 4 survivors to see who has unbreakable like what? It’s not a contest to see who gets up

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/415322/slugging-bleeding-out

In that case it is not holding the game hostage, because your timer is ticking down.

It might be annoying, but it is only for a short time so I guess just tab out and do something else in the mean time.

just sit there for the duration of the slug isn’t punishable? I just gotta sit there and wait while the killer is just running around the map being toxic nodding, tbagging me? No that’s not fair to say “just deal with it” isn’t the right answer to the killer slugging two survivors for the whole time it takes to bleed out just because they can and want to.

  • I have many friends that are trickster mains and they HATED MFT especially when paired with HOPE they thought it was too strong so I do believe he got his speed buff because of MFT

  • @Yggleif said:

Yeah there's not really any reason to keep Hag at 4.4, I'm sure it made sense at one time when the power level of the game was lower but now her being 4.4 just keeps her from having real agency. Instead of being able to chase after a trap is triggered you either have to hope you get the hit after teleporting and then see if they're heading towards another trap or if they're not just abandon the idea of downing them entirely and try again later.

exactly I agree it can be very frustrating

  • @Neaxolotl said:

Considering pretty much all the killers having 4.6 nowadays, I don't see the problem in buffing hag to 4.6

    THANK YOU! I agree 100%

  • and what would your idea of fun be? Get rid of her power? No that’s not how that works lol

  • @Mysore said:

undetectable status should be the main thing in your kit to be removed, undetectable status is what most helps skull merchant to hold trigen

undetectable was apart of her original power, so they can’t take that away, it would be like taking away onryo manifest and de manifest, she cannot camp gens! Idk why people still think she can camp gens you can literally sit on a gen and will never get scanned, ever so no her being undetectable isn’t the issue, people complain about her drones causing deep wound and hindered, the scan line immunity being 3 seconds. They can make it to where the scan immunity is like 4 seconds or 3.5 seconds, they can take away the deep wound and reduce the amount of time someone is broken for. She’s not OP to go against.

Some changes I have concerns about…

    • Oppression: [BUFF] Reduced Cooldown to 60/50/40 seconds (was 80/70/60 seconds).
    • Dragon's Grip: [BUFF] Reduced Cooldown to 60/50/40 seconds (was 80/70/60 seconds).

I know we do have the 8 Regression Limit for Generators but Oppression bypasses that mechanic since missed Skill Checks from any sources do not contribute to the Generator being blocked. This is a massive buff to Oppression.

Likewise, Dragon's Grip having a reduced cooldown means you cannot touch a regressing Generator as often to stop it from regressing, since there is a massive risk to doing so, it effectively creates a buffer where the Survivor cannot touch it and cannot stop it from regressing, so it gives time for the Generator to regress.

As much as I would have like to see these perks be buffed, I do have concerns if this would lead a 3-Gen and Slugging focused playstyle being strong, especially after Haddonfield being reworked and having on of the worst 3-Gen setups in the game.

Just slap on Skull Merchant or the new reworked Knight (which rewards longer paths, something 3-Gening does a lot anyways) and you can absolutely go out of your way to make things extremely unfun to go against (especially in SoloQ).

this is why atleast two people running Deja vu is important, having Deja vu and the 8 gen kicking mechanic was made so that way it won’t be easy for killers to 3 gen because the killer still has to kick gens to get oppression and dragons grip value not to mention if they also have pop, pain res, or even surge, so I think these buffs are great! The cool downs were way too long to get any type of value from these perks.

skull merchant CANNOT camp a 3 gen like used to, why is she being mentioned? I’m confused as a skull merchant main she’s all about intel and chase, you can sit on a gen right by a drone and there would be no way I would know unless you let yourself get scanned or hack the drone, which btw don’t hack a drone if it’s right a gen!

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

Stealth was already apart of her kit before. It should remain. If anything survivors need a better way to clear the drone stacks from scans.

I think giving survivors 3 chances in between claw traps is fair, it’s not like knight, once you are detected that’s it’s!

    Hello there fellow SM main!

Former Totem Merchant into chase merchant says henlo

    Hello friend 👋

  • she’s only undetectable for 8 seconds when she places a drone, and then there’s like a 12-16 second cool down before she can throw another down, and they can’t be too close to each other

  • @Hannacia said:

I'll play against her when she loses some status effects. I think personally she should lose the stealth she gets. Also her drone radius needs to be smaller.

While in chase you can't be picking and choosing always the best route and most of the times SM who knows where people like to loop puts drone ready and waiting on those places so you get scanned / injured when you run into those places. Shes miserable to go against. Knight is miserable too but at least he only has 3 helpers with cooldown and you can still outrun them. Skull merchant is good killer for everyone who wants easy 3-4k doesnt require much brain power.

it does require brain power ACTUALLY if you put it in a awkward position where she can walk over it, it will go over her head and it won’t scan you it will be considered an inactive drone, survivors can crouch and even stand still to avoid getting scanned, you can sit on a gen and won’t get scanned u can heal and won’t get scanned, your teammates or even you can go around hacking drones, and she has to physically go all the way back to set it up again, there is a cool down before she can set another drone, the drones can’t scan or detect through walls or floors like they used to, the drones change color to let u know when you are able to get scanned, when you hack a drone it’s disabled for 45 seconds and when you have a claw trap just hold W take her far away from the gens you want to get done, there’s many ways to counter her people just choose not to learn and have their hands held

  • Not all SM are the same, if I get survivors that D/C I take out the bots and the ones that decided to stay and play the game get rewarded, we farm and they escape, a lot of the times I let all survivors go when I play her anyways, I like showing that not all SM are mean and sore winners we have personality and feelings too.

I preferred three gen merchant over this debacle. At least I'd get BP and an easy PIP.

She's just new old Legion now.

I don’t agree that she’s like legion, legion is constant deep wound, with skull merchant if you are careless enough to get scanned 3 times then that was your own fault just like with knight if you don’t loop correctly against his guards they will hit you and they also apply deep wound, so I’m not sure why skull merchant gets so much hate but I never see any hate towards knight 🤔

  • @skylustv said:

Skull Merchant should be the only killer to have this stupid mechanic tbh

excuse me? I don’t agree at all in her current state she cannot camp a 3 gen like she used to so im sorry but this is irrelevant, knight can hold a 3 gen and was the original 3 gen holder. As a skull merchant main I never 3 gened EVER! I agree it was a lame way to play but she’s different now so stop hating on her because of how people chose to abuse a mechanic that was never intended by the dev’s

I get that, but ugh why, it will only make skilled huntress players unbearable to go against

i have a 50 - 60 second chase and 2 gens pop. 3 gens left with 1 hook. if i play nice its clearly a foolish choice, so in order to win i have totunnel, and survivors act like i committed this great sin, killer is literally against time. and if i chase someone else they flashlight rescue them, obviously the survivors feel great on pulling off a save but the killer is way behind schedule and becomes frustrated for being robbed. so why cant survivors ingrain that into their heads?

they say the tunneled survivor doesnt play, what does that mean? theyre running from the killer and clearly playing.as opposed to what? doing a gen? the generators need a rework because holding m2 is also boring, id say you have to look for parts scattered around the map in order to repair the gens such as gears , gasoline, etc, and reduce the time for gens, that would at least gives killers more time and spot survivors more often. but streamers shouldnt publicly shame killer players for tunneling, because even they do it too.

Maybe don’t chase for that long? Use corrupt? Legal pursuer? Dead lock? Or maybe idk 🤔 get good ?

  • I like that idea alot
