I wouldn't call it must run but it's extremely good like I feel comfortable calling it a top 10 survivor perk in soloQ.
You're a lot less likely to get abandoned on hook at end game if your teammates can all see each other and the killer so it will be a noticeable difference in your games.
-
Give Demo better addons and lower the volume of the stomping and they're perfectly fine.
-
I feel like they're really hyping up the upcoming March chapter along with a lot of killer buffs for around that time as well. Should be a really interesting time.
-
Community: "Hey is X a bug?"
BHVR: "Uuuhhhh do you like X?"
-
I don't really have a main at the moment but recently I've been playing a lot of stealth Huntress. You'd be surprised how many people ignore the lullaby if they don't hear the TR, I've gotten so many grabs recently.
I don't think I'll do it after the event ends though because it gets expensive having to collect so many wooden foxes in the bloodweb.
-
Eh I wouldn't be surprised if Trapper gets a human Frank Stone skin from closer to the beginning of the game and we get what we see at the end as a different character later on.
I just don't see BHVR creating a name for Frank as The Champion if they were never going to put him in but that will obviously take some time so this is just like an appetizer in the meantime.
-
Yeah I liked planning ahead with drone placement and slowly weakening survivors and then sneaking up on them for the down and going zoom when I had to chase instead. No other killer played like Merchant did and ever since her gutting no other killer has been anywhere near as interesting to me. She was a trap killer that could actually be aggressive when she needed to be and that was cool.
Also I feel like all the flak she got for her story and design could have been bypassed if they made her original purple outfit her default and just made her an actual cyber ninja from the future instead of just cosplaying as one like if she was singularity before singularity. I could be wrong but I think people would have liked that a lot more.
-
I tried skull merchant again last night after putting her away since she nerf and OMG she feels so bad now.
She just goes undetectable occasionally and that's it. The drones no longer really do anything, like you can get the traps on people but good luck ever getting the hinder or haste effects.
I honestly think just give her drones the 2nd beam back for now until she's reworked. She'd still be bad but at least she'd be playable.

Do you know if they've discussed the chapter officially anywhere recently? It's been really quiet recently regarding it.
Not to my knowledge no, I imagine the killrates had to have been ridiculous for him to receive the few changes he did get so soon after release but I doubt that put that much of a dent into anything.

I remind you of the existence of Blight and Nurse in this game... Kaneki is a rookie in comparison🤣 For me, this pairing is much more problematic than Kaneki. You can loop a good Kaneki a bit (if you have resources), but you can hardly loop a good Blight or Nurse, no matter how many resources you have.
I mean all the 3 are problematic but the problem is ghoul gives the most reward for the least input. Nurse you at least have to put a few hours into to get the hang of before you put on a bunch of aura perks and decimate every lobby and Blight is genuinely ruined on a few cramped maps and curving does take some work to learn.
Ghoul you play one game to understand what they do and you've mastered the killer after lmao.
-
There's no way Ghoul's killrate isn't the highest in the game, I have never seen a ghoul get less than a 2k and that's when they do astronomically bad. Any remotely competent killer player gets a 3k or 4k on them pretty much every time.
-
It's funny because I'd go in a completely different direction with buffs for Unknown which I do agree they kinda need.
I wouldn't touch uvx too much actually other than making it come out faster when aiming cuz that feels a big sluggish atm.
I'd actually prefer the buffs go in the direction of making his hallucinations stronger. Let the max number of those go from 4 to 6 and increase the time it takes to dispel them by 1 second.
To me I think the way you make Unknown feel better is you create more opportunities to interrupt a dispel which makes the survivor weakened and then you only need to hit twice instead of 3 times and it also give unknown more map control. I'm not sure if we touch the teleport cool down yet, I'd wanna play with these first before doing that but that would be on the table too.
-
I think he's probably B tier but I also think very few people are actually playing him to his potential so it's hard to say for sure.
I think part of this is because so many people are comparing him to Huntress just because they both have hatchets which doesn't really make any sense to me. It's like comparing Myers to Ghost Face just because they both stalk when they play completely differently when one wants to go on one big snowball rampage chase and the other is trying to stop any chases from happening in the first place and wants quick takedowns.
This is very similar, Huntress is the zoning queen and taking people down from range whereas Springtrap wants to surprise people with stealth and wants a quick 1-2 takedown with either an axe into a grab or a m1 into an ax throw and I think this is where people are messing up because I go up against so many springtraps either not leveraging their stealth or throwing an ax and then just doing nothing and waiting for their ax to come back and they're wasting so much time pretending they're Huntress.
So I'm gonna say Springtrap is B tier for now but it's very possible I haven't seen his true potential yet because he does have A tier mobility at the very least just most people don't have his chase down I don't think.

Neither of the examples you used are “gaslighting”.
If we wanna pretend telling people what they're reading isn't what they're reading or that telling people "nah you'll get what you want later just vote for this other thing instead for now" isn't psychological manipulation then sure.

@TimberGoingDown said:
I think that the "Otherworldly" voters are very split between what they want, while the "Chimeric" voters pretty much all want a werewolf. I'd be pretty stunned if Beastly didn't win this time or didn't at least place second. Cosmic or Divine will be the other top choice.
You may be right but I feel like divine has a lot of motion rn.
I'd be pleasantly surprised and through the roof happy if beastly won but my guess it comes in second to divine with cosmic in third.
If I'm right hopefully at least BHVR sees how much people want a werewolf killer and we maybe get one in like year 12 lmao.

@paranoidmad80 said:
well, i want a spider. Thats why i vote ( just in my opinion ) for Cosmic. Unfortunately, my first survivor choice didn't work out, but I'm also happy with the dark side. I'm curious to see what happens next. Definitely exciting 🙂
And you're totally entitled to that and should vote for the things most likely to make that happen.
I just wish we could let people vote for the things they want without other people trying to sabotage the other options is the main point I'm trying to make.

I just had Midwich vs ghoul and it did not help at all, still could travel and end chases effectevily as if outdoor map :(
Midwich is tricky cuz it's the hold W map on the killer that holds W harder than you do, it can still be okay but you really gotta stick to the classrooms and not be in the hallways where Ghoul can catch you in a couple seconds.
-
That's the neat part you don't.
The best you can do is hope for an indoor map where he can't use his power as effectively.
-
I think it's a combination of nemesis attracting newer players, used to be worse at applying pressure before the buffs and goofy running animation being weirdly intense that gave it a lot of meme value that it just sort of took off.
-
Everything is in order within tiers.
-
It's kinda wild people freak out so much about the fact BHVR balances the game around killers getting mostly 2ks and 3ks with 3ks being slightly more common.
-
It's pretty clear BHVR is trying to buff chest builds with the key changes and changes to streetwise and appraisal as chests might as well not exist rn.
I don't really think this does it as the thing that killed chest builds was the hatch changes. Before that the strength of chest builds was you could bring a medkit or toolbox to start with then fairly reliably get a pink or purple key if things went south and get the rest of your team out through the hatch if somebody died early.
With how accessible items are in the bloodweb these days getting a better than average item from a chest is always going to be a bit bleh. Like why would I devote an entire build to looting chests for good items when I can bring whatever I want and just devote a single perk slot to Built to Last if it runs out?
-
Bond, Duty, Overcome, Botany with a medkit equipped.

@tjt85 said:
Opening two chests just to rebuild a single party pallet… Wow, that's absolutely terrible! The pallet even has an X on it so the Killer knows they can safely respect it (or walk through it with enduring) and still get the hit. If it was for rebuilding a regular pallet, I could see the justification but it should be 1 chest for a party pallet, I think.
I can't see anyone seriously running this perk. It's a meme perk.
I wouldn't use it for it's intended purpose but running it with windows to see all available and destroyed pallets would be kinda funny.
-
Considering how many stealth killers and perks that give undetectable that killers have access to the condition for last stand is harder than it seems.
It's going to encourage survivors to follow the killer and not do gens. It's very strong if it works but it's a borderline trap perk if you try and force the activation.
-
The self-care with no botany makes thinking a lunge attack is cheating so much funnier.
-
I just see this has clown's skill floor and possibly ceiling is being raised. Should be fine if you're good at clown.
-
It's so weird we're at the point some people get triggered just seeing the word "tunnel" like they're being personally attacked.

Would make a pretty sweet alt name considering its the nightmare on elm street IP
Yeah it almost kinda fits cuz I think it's taken from when Quinton watched over Nancy when they were doing their plan to get Freddy at the the end of the movie.
I think anyway, it's been forever since I saw the 2010 NoES.
-
Anyone want to take a wild guess at what "Insomnia" is supposed to be? It's not wake up and the only perk I can think of that really interacts with clown bottles is maybe vigil but that interaction is so minor lol.
-
I think SiS should really be in A. Combined with Botany and Wicked it's nutty. You scout where the basement is ahead of time do the Gen in the area and if you're found you loop around basement and get hooked down there then unhook yourself and get a quick heal and go back to your gen. It's such a a massive momentum killer against the killer who wasted so much time for a hook that didn't really do anything.
-
BHVR really need to do on here with killers what they did with maps and their mapping the realm section, let us give feedback on specific killers en masse and through polling in more detail so they have a better idea on who to work on.
-
Tbh that's sort of what they did earlier this year, they delayed Tokyo Ghoul so they could work on core gameplay issues which is stuff like the abandon mechanic, go next prevention and the anti tunneling and slugging stuff coming later this year. So we're currently going under the closest DBD will ever get to a health chapter.
-
Which makes BHVR's decision to formally support DBD league kinda bizarre to me.
Have you watched comp DBD? It's atrocious, it's survivors being as obnoxious as possible to the killer and the killer trying to tunnel someone out as quickly as possible and the vast majority of players do not want the game to look that way.
-
@PetTheDoggo said:
It doesn't really make sense to nerf good killers just because they are better than lowest tier killers. Trapper etc are definetly not good standard how strong killer should be.
Not like there are not good ways to nerfs those killers, but this is simply bad argument for it.
Issue is some killers simply can't be ever top tier killers simply by nature of their power. To be clear I think Nurse, Blight, Ghoul should be nerfed regardless due to how strong they are compared to how easy they are to play.
I guess you could make the skill floor for them much higher too and that'd also be an alright fix but idk how you do that without reworking them completely.
-
@Mr_K said:
What would you buff about Trapper? When people bring up this "gap" between killers they always wanting to nerf the top but not raise the bottom. You at least said buff the bottom but how?
Odd that you would bring up Billy. When people talked about Nurse being #1, Billy was always #2. What you are asking them to do with the top is what the did to Billy. Face it, survivors don't want strong killers. Any killer we get that's above average is called broken and demanded to be nerf. Trapper is not the low end. It's what they want as normal.
I brought up billy exactly because he's strong but fine to go against because you actually have to be good at billy to get results and most killer players don't wanna put that work in. I'm not saying I don't want strong killers at all, I think Billy, Dracula, Singularity, Twins are all great because they're both strong and require skill to actually make work. I have a problem with Nurse, Blight, and Ghoul because they're both ridiculously strong and are rather easy to get results with. Nurse is a special case because you just don't play DBD in Nurse games and that's a design flaw that's been looked past for far too long.
As for what I would do with Trapper I think let him start with all his traps and let traps inflict deep would base kit if the survivor escapes from it and that would go a long way. It saves trapper a lot of time at the beginning of the game while creating some stall if he can't get to his trap at the time. Trapper will never be A tier and I don't think you want a trap killer to ever be A tier because they tend to stall games the most but I think there's no reason he can't get to low B with the proper buffs.
-
Self-heals with botany got buffed but I don't think to a crazy degree. I think desperate measures and resurgence are much more dangerous. Like it's insanely easy to reach the 200% healing cap on altruistic heals now and on self-heals you can get to close to 100% with just botany, Desperate Measures and some medkit speed add-ons.
On top of that resurgence basically gives every person unhooking you 200% healing speed.
But it's not any one thing it's everything together is making healing the strongest it's been in a very long time.

The problem with old CoH was SELF heals being stupidly fast, and we're nowhere close to that right now. Altruistic heals being very fast can still be scary, but it's not as damaging as self heals being very fast by a long shot.
Okay but you can get like a 17 second heal with a medkit with botany and desperate measures now potentially faster if you bring heal speed add ons. So we're actually not as far as old CoH as you suggest.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
If healing is such a problem, why not switch from Gen Slowdown to Heal Slowdown?
I actually tried with weeping wounds and leverage and it honestly does not make a noticeable difference when survivors are already 70% healed off hook.
-
People will down vote you without backing it up but you're right.
The healing meta is here and you mention botany but desperate measures also got a massive buff and people haven't caught on to how nutty it is yet.
We're at the point where everyone can have old CoH healing speeds and it basically means hit and run is dead again.
We literally nerfed med-kits for this reason and I feel like BHVR forgot why they did that.
-
Gorejira is well known in the leaker community for being full of **** so unless there's another source I'd ignore this.
-
I picked arcane for survivor and chimeric for killer.
I want Elf v. Werewolf at the end. Will I get it? No, probably not but it'd be cool af.
-
BHVR has said repeatedly they're never doing DBD2.
-
It wouldn't be so bad if most ghoul players didn't insist on hard tunneling so much. Like ghoul is either the 3rd or 4th strongest killer depending on where you put Billy but out of those top 4 killers Ghoul is easily the one with the lowest skill floor and is incredibly forgiving which lets the LCD (lowest common denominator) of the killer base use them and just be as obnoxious as possible and not really have to worry about being punished for making mistakes.
I'm okay with Kaneki being as strong as he is but make him get punished for making mistakes more often, feels terrible out playing a ghoul consistently and losing anyway because he makes covering distance a joke and at some point you do just run out of pallets.
-
I spent roughly 13 million blood points evenly among survivor and killer and got 91 cakes on survivor and 136 on killer.
That roughly translates to spending 71k BP per cake on survivor and I think around 47k BP on killer.
It's high variance for sure and I don't know where I fall on that scale I'm just providing numbers.
-
I feel like they're not really comparable? Unknown is a ranged killer that plays around not giving survivors line of sight and being confusing and Springtrap is a stealth killer with a ranged attack that combos into a grab.
You can say Springtrap is better which probably true but that doesn't make Unknown obsolete because they don't occupy the same niche.
-
Did BHVR ever say anything about how the blood Gens were received? I thought those were actually pretty fun and reminded me of that one finale from L4D2. I wouldn't mind if those were brought as a general mechanic.
-
Supposedly the creator of Marble Hornets is in talks with BHVR but I imagine we won't know anything past that unless it happens.
-
Yeah kinda just for BP, the only new perk interaction is with predator the problem is Victor can't see auras so it only triggers when you land a pounce but predator aura read is only 4 seconds and you already see Victor's aura when he attaches for 5 seconds so you'd need to run lethal pursuer and all you get is one extra second of aura reading over predator.
Victor can't use beast of prey or game afoot so yeah it's not actually that exciting.
-
DBD has been "dying" since like 2018 lmao.
Honestly we used to have these types of threads MUCH more often so the fact there's a lot less these days probably indicates things are actually better than they used to be.
Also this patch has massive issues for sure but the first RE chapter was probably worse considering like half the player base just couldn't play the game lol.
