Kinda wish the building was bigger sort of like RPD where there's a few small outside areas but it's mostly the building. You never really have to go in the building much if you don't really want to which sort of ruins the point of having FNAF as a map. I think it's pretty balanced as a map though.
-
I will always have good memories of Clown, Hag and Dredge but Dracula has been my favorite of late and I've recently started putting a lot of time into learning them and have loved it.
-
I still don't see Springtrap 4k that often. And even the invisible thing (which I don't think is intended) is annoying he still never gets me out the door because those doors are loud AF when they open, I can't imagine not hearing it as long as you're using a headset.
The strings add-on is overtuned, Wraith gets similar but it's an iri so as a blue for Springtrap that is silly but BHVR has a burning hatred for overused add-ons so I'm not worried about that getting nerfed, it almost certainly will.
I will say there should be something survivors can do about the doors as Springtrap does break the mold compared to every other killer that do that.
Onryo you can turn the TVs off
Dredge you can lock lockers
Demo you can destroy the portals
Singularity you can disable the pods
Xeno you can setup turrets
Springtrap is the only one you just sort of have to take it if they teleport to you. It's sort of a missed opportunity because if they gave you the opportunity to use battery power to lock the door for a set amount of time that would have replicated the gameplay from the first FNAF incredibly well and would have made things much more fair.
I suppose where I'm at is Springtrap is nowhere near Nurse and Blight level so I think people are getting a bit hysterical over them BUT I do think they could use fine tuning just to be consistent with the designs of other killers because BHVR clearly did not want to put restrictions on Springtrap the way they normally would with other killers and I don't think showing that type of favoritism is healthy long term from a design standpoint.
-
I mean Springtrap is an above average killer but he's far from busted. He's not the best ranged killer as that belongs to either Plague or Artist, he's not the best at holding 3 gens as Singularity is better at that. Is he the best stealth killer? Sure but the bar was under the basement in that category. Honestly every time I got against him it's usually a 2k this is not a Ghoul scenario where they release and we realize a mistake has been made.
Was BHVR generous with how they balanced Springtrap compared to how they balance similar killers? Yeah I would say Springtrap has gotten some special treatment I don't think you're wrong in that observation but like can you blame them? The biggest license DBD has ever gotten around an anniversary event everyone comes back for? BHVR would be dumb not to milk it for everything it's worth. Will Springtrap be rebalanced in the future and does he even need it? Idk it's a bit early to say, I think the most annoying things are actually bugs like being invisible coming out of the door at first and the grab distance being questionable at times so I don't think so for right now.
As far as Springtrap having his power right in the beginning? They just gave Vecna the same thing in the same patch so I think that's just more of an indication of the direction BHVR is taking balancing atm, I actually wouldn't be surprised if Dredge got that same buff in the next year or so.
-
I feel like a lot of it is contextual like Face the Darkness is usually whatever but is obnoxious on Cenobite or Lethal is usually fine but it's annoying on say Blight or Billy and they're on you before you even know where you are, Franklins is especially annoying on Hag.
For perks I think are always kinda annoying? Pain Res, DMS, Friends Til the End, Deadlock, NOED would be my top 5.
-
They're fine, I consider them a stealthy version of huntress. Be aware of your surrondings and listen for the clanking and Dodge the axe and you're mostly okay. I completely ignore the doors tbh the mechanic is very fun but they seem like a time waste trap.
There's for sure way more frustrating killers to go against.
-
As for former Twins main best you can hope for is your killer feels good in like 2 years.
-
These types of threads always brings out the "us vs them" people it's so sad.
I think the game is generally fine for both sides with some exceptions? I definitely want to see tunneling addressed more like I get it's something they were doing for perks across the board not letting them give extra BP but the BBQ BP effect change was one of the worst changes BHVR ever did. We need a base mechanic like that where the killer gets a BP multiplier depending on how many different people they hook in a row.
A survivor equivalent could be a multiplier based on how many people escape to give incentives for soloQ to play more altruistic.
-
Overall stats are about what I expected
Escape Rate: 42%
Kill Rate: 71%
It's the specifics that are surprising like I have equal playtime about on my mains Sable and Lara but vastly different escape rates on them 48.5% and 37.25% respectively. That might have something to do with the fact I run different perks on them which leads to another surprise which is I escape way more using aura and healing perks and escape far less when I use exhaustion and more traditional chase perks like windows and finesse.
I suppose my take away is I'm good at strategizing and having game sense when I have information and I am absolutely not a juicer.
Also my one survivor perk with an above 50% escape Rate? Kindred.
Technically Dark Sense does too but I haven't been using it long enough for it to be statically relevant but I'm definitely gonna be using it more to see if that holds. However I do use Wicked a lot and that has a 49% escape rate and I maintain it's the most slept on survivor perk in the game.
On the killer side nothing too notable but Hag and Artist both being 80%+ kill Rate for me is very funny considering how often I hear people say they both suck.
-
Maybe hot take but tunneling doesn't help bad killers because bad killers are bad at tunneling. Take Myers, if Myers tunnels just one person they're gonna run out of stalk on that person pretty fast and either be forced to stay in EW2 or actually go after different people. Ghost Face is similar as well or say take Legion who's entire power is spreading pressure, if you're tunneling with legion you might as well play somebody else.
So I would argue nerfing tunneling doesn't really do anything to bad killers and mostly hurts your nurses and blights who are going to be just fine regardless.
-
We need pumpkinhead, I don't know what they would do but more people need to know about pumpkinhead.
-
I'm excited for Lich buffs (Fly is nuts now) and Phantom Fear I think that perk is mega slept on.
I don't care about Springtrap very much but I'm happy for all the people that have waited so long for him finally getting him.
-
I hate knight too but this wasn't presented very well at all. Lots of killers tunnel and proxy camp that's not a knight thing. The power however is extremely boring, either you got your time wasted running from a A.I. or you get pincered in-between a knight and a guard in a loop and there's not much you can do besides maybe w key away from the loop. It's just not that interesting to try and outplay.
-
A kappa would be funny for the memes.
I don't actually care what it is as long as we're not getting a third Japanese ghost.
-
People have the phobia for different reasons it's not a catch all. For me I absolutely hate the mouths and hairy spiders so pics were actually tough to get through (no hate btw I understand you're just trying to find a solution) so I wouldn't love it if any of those were added to the game.
I can only answer for me but I think for me to be okay with a spider killer they would have to do that one thing some designs do where the mandibles are horizontal and are sort of like ant mouths and make the body more uuuhhh what's the word? chitinous? Where it looks like there's an exoskeleton or some sort of shell. Like the entity legs don't effect me at all. Also for examples I don't find Duke's Dear Freyja from Dark Souls 2 so bad or Lala Barina from monster hunter wilds all that bad even though it moves very weird. Nurubians from Warcraft are usually fine too so I suppose any spider centaur ish design would probably be fine. Meanwhile designs that triggered tf out of me were things like frostbite spiders in Skyrim and Aragog in Harry Potter.
Again this is just for me, I'm sure another arachnophobe could come along and say they disagree with me completely but this is an approximation of what I could personally deal with and what I couldn't. I'm not completely against a spider killer as I think that idea lends itself to a trap style killer which we need more of and I know many want it I just don't want it to be a design that runs me off the game and I do think that's very attainable.
One last thought is I don't know how the pro spider people feel about the idea of something like human form Eliza from LoL where the killer is human but has spider powers? That I'd be 100% fine with I feel.
-
It's not something I can say for sure but I wanna say 2?
Either the gens get banged out mega quick or we stall out and don't have enough resources for the last couple gens and die.
-
I miss chest builds being viable when keys were better but otherwise I'm torn.
On one hand you literally can't afford to run goofy build anymore and the meta feels more forced on people but on the other you don't feel like you get flat out screwed as much by things like NOED or Dead Hard.
I suppose it comes down to preference. Do you like the low lows and high highs of old DBD or do you want a more evened out experience of current DBD? My worry about present DBD is it probably is more fair overall but I wonder if that makes it get stale quicker despite the growing roster?

Definitely the worst Rift. The theme itself I don't like, but it could have been good or at least better than this. Everyone's dressed in pretty colorful flowers! How cute! Too bad this is a horror game, though it seems like a lot of people at BHVR have forgotten that.
The only good skins are the Singularity and maybe Dredge. Everything else is bad, tacky, ugly, and I would never want it in a game like this. The least ugly ones are the recolors of other skins, and that tells something.
The only thing this is going to be good for is the Iri Shards.
Why does every cosmetic have to feel like a costume out of a theatre play nowadays?
The plant world can actually be pretty brutal. Take pitcher plants for example. They lure insects with sweet juices when the insects go inside the leaves close and the hairs point down making it near impossible for the insect to escape. The insect is then slowly dissolved alive by liquids inside the plant.
I think it's fair to say the execution could have been better but the nature/plant theme absolutely has horror potential.
-
I guess I'm the odd one out here. This is a top two rift for me along with the Lara Croft rift but I guess the nature theme isn't for everyone.

First Main: Kate and Clown
Current Main: Lara and Hag

Fav Perk: Botany Knowledge / Devour Hope
Fav Item: Commodious Toolbox
Fav Chapter: All Things Wicked
How many P100s: 0

I just know it needs to be a stealth killer, the entire series is built on jump scares so if it not a stealth killer they failed.
-
The effect actually isn't bad but the activation requirement is ludicrous. By the time it activates you're anywhere from a quarter to more than halfway into the game and if you're doing that well you probably don't even need it and could be running some other perk that could have been doing things that entire time.
-
I use built to last quite a bit so no, also if it's blight or billy I just assume they have BBQ.
-
It's always amazing to me to see a hacksaw get taken to very mid power level low pick rate killers but BHVR refuses to touch Nurse for some reason.
-
Carniveris is pretty chill and actually has a really good Artist.
-
Probably Plague, Doctor in Clown.
Hag should be coming but tbh I genuinely think she doesn't fit the faster pace of 2v8 so implementing her is probably harder than it seems.
-
Never been a fan of the yamaoka maps, those tiles seem so strange to me.
-
I use it in soloQ and like it's extremely swingy. Most games it does nothing but in games where the killer actually tunnels it's game changing. I imagine most people don't wanna run a perk that only does something sometimes.
-
I've seen people claim it's all killer sided and I've seen people claim it all survivor sided.
Never seen a community with such a victim complex before it's so weird.
-
Idk why people feel the need to catastrophize everything like BHVR is gonna penalize people who stand still for half a second.
I'm sure it has to be extreme like a full minute or something like there are ways to introduce these systems in intelligent ways so let's just see what they do and critique it from there instead of theoretical systems that don't exist.
-
Killer: Twins and Hag. I love wilderness/don't go into the woods horror and those are the two that I think fit it most having witch vibes.
Survivor: Lara, Sable, Jake. Lara and Jake for similar reasons as Hag and Twins. Sable for fashion reasons.
-
People calling NOED a crutch while they're running around with windows and syringes is really funny.
I think NOED is fine personally. It's kind of a chaotic perk sometimes it gets you a down and then explodes other times you'll pull off an upset in end game. I think the aura reading goes a long way in making the perk feel fair. Some things have to line up for NOED to really have impact and not make it just a pity kill in perk form. Anything that creates tension in end game so it's not just a formality gets a thumbs up from me.
-
More Demo, Slinger, Artist
Less Nurse, Pyramid Head, Unknown
-
Why did you cover your own build lol, there's so many sketch things about this post.
-
I wish I could say this thread is wrong but unfortunately my experience is if you try to goof off or not play very seriously most survivors will use it as an excuse to BM which is unfortunate. Don't get me wrong it doesn't mean I'm gonna go out of my way to grief survivors or BM them or anything. Things like "humping" and bleeding out is still incredibly cringe to me but I generally tend not to have a lot of mercy during games simply because that's the thing that seems to keep the BM away.

But does that make him strong?
Y'all get too caught up in how a killer makes you feel, or how exciting he is to go against, when every killer is existence is gonna get less exciting the more you get used to him. "Boring" has lost all meaning in this game.
....
I literally said he's mid as far as his power level goes. Where is the reading comprehension?
-
I've been still thinking about this a lot and come to the conclusion if you want double exhaustion the most practical application is Sprint Burst + Blood Rush.
-
I generally agree then? Greenville is a weird one because the theater is peak and the projector generator is the best generator in the entire game but the rest of the map is too big and has those ridiculous double pallet setups.
Toba in theory should be high up because it's a cool concept but in practice it's just dump random garbage all over a map and call it a day.
Kinda wonder why you hate corn so much? They're not all winners but Thompson House is kinda fun and Abattoir feels like the most balanced map in the game next to Wrecker's Yard.
Also I don't know why people hate Swamp so much. They're BS maps but they're BS for both sides and it's kinda funny. Like a plague screaming all their fountains are trying to leave the map with how on the edges they are while survivors wonder how BHVR thought letting the game spawn two gens on the dock at the same was a good idea is comedy gold. Also swamp main building crows are iconic.
-
What's the criteria for the list? Balance? Fun?
-
I don't think it's horribly out of place with what we already have tbh
-
He's very mid power level-wise but I think he's extremely boring to go against. Either he finds you while you're immune and he's a joke or he finds you while you're asleep and it's just another boring speed differential killer.
-
I ask killers why they slug when I play survivor and by far the most common response is "cuz it's funny" which I sort of translate as they can't face camp anymore so slugging is the next best thing.

free or paid side?
Paid it's ultra rare for some reason lol.

Best I can do is a snake charm in the rift.
-
Yeah it's weird seeing a dev interact with the forums tbh but it is nice to see them continuing to do it especially considering how toxic this place usually is lol, can't always be easy.

I’ve never understood why ppl say she’s unplayable. Hag mains are so rare but when you cross a killer that mains hag they are nasty and hard to counter if you’re not on swf. Hag isn’t easy to play and you have to be so much more thoughtful about your choices. You gotta dump so many hours into hag to be good with her, or really you’re just leaning on luck and she feels underwhelming. I’ve also met a lot of hags with terrible trap placement(it’s right there in the sand everyone can see it, it’s on the other side of the pallet everyone can see it). The ones trapping windows at the bottom and herding though are demons, there’s thought, sentience. Ones that make me go why is there a trap right here?!?! It’s because they’re smarter than the average bear. If you couldn’t wipe her traps, I shiver at the thought.
Yeah I agree like I don't think most people understand trap placement at all and they often times place traps like they're playing Trapper but outside of being the same killer archetype they're very different. The most common one I see is in front of pallets. Place a bear trap in front of the pallet and you deny the loop, place a mud trap in front of a pallet and you're probably asking to get hit in the face with the pallet lmao.
The other one I see is in the middle of intersections and I think this is the real reason people say Hag is weak because this is the one where yes it's likely to trigger but it's also extremely easy to do the camera trick on these types of traps so they won't result in hits if survivors are good most of the time and know they're there. People need to start placing traps in cramped areas and around corners where camera manipulation is either harder or impossible to do because take the camera trick away and the counterplay is crouching around the map and wiping the traps and most people have no patience for that and you just get easy hits constantly.
I don't think Hag is A tier or anything but I'm in agreement with gummypeachrings (10k hours hag main) she's solidly mid B tier and her bad reputation comes from people just completely misunderstanding her kit and how her weaknesses can be mitigated.
-
Honestly she gets played like a bad wraith these days and it works against most people for some reason lmao.

I completely agree with you.
I'll try to explain my situation, although this is not the topic of discussion, but it is necessary for the context.
I decided to level up P100 huntress, up to about P32 I was doing 3K - 4K consistently, after P32 I periodically started to meet SWF and hidden cheaters, now at 45P I just can't play the game. Because per match I make a maximum of 1 - 3 hooks. I don't think my skill has degraded, but I am matched with survivors who play significantly better than me or play with communication / cheats.
Because of the matchmaking, I play much less now, about 10-15 games a day, and I consistently come across survivors who spam emotes at the beginning of the game pointing at me, without having reading auras perks.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3880095#Comment_3880095
Sorry, so I'm wrong about everything, and you are an exceptional killer player and don't face resistance from survivors.
All I'm trying to tell you is that if you keep doing 3K-4K on one killer, sooner or later your MMR will be so high that you will only play against SWF.No I know what you're saying and I definitely play against SWFs at night for sure. I'm just saying I've been playing long enough that if SBMM isn't finding me hard matches now I don't know if it ever will, that's what the thread is about cuz it feels like the game has shifted too much to one side.
I mean it's also possible it's just nobody knowing how to play against Hag but I keep hearing people say Hag is unplayable so idk anymore.
-
Some of these complaints are unreasonable (ruin for example is decent but nowhere near OP sometimes perks counter other perks, just like if a killer brings knock out and the survivor has unbreakable it gets countered) but overall I agree it's getting to be too much for soloQ to handle most of the time. Through thinking about it and talking to other people partially on here I think it comes down to survivors having less resources on most maps, more mobility killers making more dead zones (for example you're not making it to the next pallet against a blight or dracula even though you might against trapper), and more killer buffs making stacking slowdown even more brutal.
I think for sure maps need more pallets I think we have enough anti-loop powers in the game that this wouldn't be an issue. The other issue is rough because do you punish mobility killers for being good or do you nerf slowdown because we've reached critical mass and it's easy to have a build of 4 meta worthy slowdown perks? I don't think you do both and if I had to pick between the two I think the mobility killers are generally the most fun killer archetype for people so I think slowdown gets the nerf bat which is sad for lower tier killers but I think overall that's easier than doing specific changes to like 6 or 7 different killers.
-
Tbf I don't think Huntress has hair either lol.
