  • Tried making a loadout of endgame perks. NOED+Bloodwarden is pretty hilarious imo. Slotted in rancor and nemesis as well which resulted in a nice rancor mori, followed by another because someone decided they were safe after blowing up my NOED...which caused nemesis to swap obsessions when they flashlight blinded me for points. THAT particular game they were pretty good sports about it, but Ive gotten ALOT of hate from other games.

  • After reading some of these comments, I could only think of this...

    image.png

in all seriousness though, dont let it get to you.

  • As a killer on PC, im pretty use to it in the endgame chats. No matter how you play or with what character, you will always find SOMEONE who has issue with it and will flame you. Ive just taken to screenshotting the best ones so I can share them with people on the forums.

  • Can't really call people doing gens "genrushers" unless theyre bringing decked out toolboxes and such. If theyre going in empty handed or with just a brown medkit or something, expecting them to go out of their way to find the killer so they can get chased for abit instead of the killer having to find THEM is just silly.

  • Was lookin forward to Head on... With the Doc update I said to myself hmmm.... I should probably invest in calm spirit and maybe a locker related perk...Oh I know, Head on. The twitter announcement got me excited, only to be quickly let down.

I play solo exclusively. I rarely get hit by NOED. Because I destroy totems and can count to 5. Besides, you can see a NOED gamer coming from a mile away. If you're even half decent.

    That's all I'll say.

I try to keep track of whatever perks I can. Perks like thana, sloppy butcher and ruin...it tells ya the killer has it pretty easily. If I can identify all 4 killer perks, I can rule out NOED. If I cant identify a perk...time to take those totems seriously.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

I love how with NOED its always the survivors fault. “Just cleanse totems”.

Yeah because adding what is essentially an extra generators worth of time to stop the killer from whizzing about with unlimited instadowns at a time when when there are very few pallets left on the map is a reasonable counter.

However when a killer complains about DS, advise them to stop tunneling and its like you’ve asked them to do the impossible.

I guarantee you if killers had something they could break to remove some of the more annoying survivor perks before they can proc, they would.

  • The NOED Bloodwarden combo is brutal, kinda like survivors who save stuff like DS+deliverence for endgame can be pretty brutal. Fortunately, you can always do bones...

Oh yeah I forgot about the moonrise ones! Thanks for jogging my old memory.

That was the neat part of each event was unlocking cosmetics through gameplay. For the first Hallowed Blight, I was new and got the Doctor cosmetics. Got Huntress and 1 piece of the Feng for year of the Pig and got the Clown outfit and Plague outfit for this years Hallowed Blight. The fact that the year of the rat isnt following the same flow as year of the boar and making the outfits farmable... is kinda rough.

Typically the Chinese New year events have never gave a full skin loadout and just peices for characters they chose.

They did say they are making more for reward for the lunar event including a make park skin via the rift but we don't know what exactly the rewards actually are though.

So knowing this we are getting what we always did but a chance for more minus the bonus objective to do. Maybe we wont get the extra bloodpoints which hasn't been mentioned but I hope we do.

Maybe for some it's a case of the more they get in some events the more they want in them all 😉.

Last year we could earn full outfits for Huntress, Feng and Ace for Chinese New year

  • @twistedmonkey said:

They stated events would be tied to the rift in future so you can play and have more time to earn the skind. Tbh I am surprised they changed the gens and hooks this time.

The issue with events are they had a love/hate relationship with the community with so many not playing and just farming.

They can't win them all and generally what was fun about events were the extra bloodpoints and earning skins by playing by doing the extra objective.

I don't know if there is a dbp weekend planned but we do however get the same sort of skins as the previous ones just by logging in during the time frame.

It was nice being able to earn Event skins like how I did with the Huntress skin for year of the boar. This year's Legion skin looks like it can only be gotten with Auric cells, which is what's annoying ppl.

The fact you've reported them all clearly shows you just have an issue with survivors tbh.

and shocking to block 100% works

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1018389#Comment_1018389

Well you need to consider how many owners the game has, since there have been several free2play weekends and such this number is pretty high and varies from 5million up to 10million. I can't have a closer look because I do not have a steamspy account, nor do i support it on patreon.

However if you look at 5 than that would be 200k people and for 10 it would be 400k..

Given the game is played by 20k +- it is ok.

It is kinda interesting that even more people hit rank 5 survivor than rank 10 killer lol.

I know plenty of ppl who don't play killer. A streamer I play with sometimes regularly plays red rank survivor, but only plays killer when his SWF isn't online...so is like rank 14 killer.

Our only hope is the new Predator and Resident Evil asymmetrical games. It will be the first time BHVR has been challenged by a real studio of the AAA variety. Perhaps it will make them pull their heads out of their asses.

Resident evil is making an asymmetrical game? Whats the name, I wanna look it up.

Yes this is for real, check killer it is even less.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲ ▼

    2,3%

How are those numbers real? Youd think at least half the community wouldve hit rank 1 on at least 1 side.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    1) No. I’ll give an example...

Survivor is on hook. Killer is proxy camping or whatever. Second survivor goes for unhook before second stage. Hillbilly comes sprinting across, or Leatherface comes out of insidiuos, instadowns second survivor, hits down first, hooks fresh survivor, now first survivor goes back on hook again.

These kinds of situations happen. Killers with instadowns that camp could benefit greatly from this idea. Right now DS is the only way you can ensure you get out of the basement, since you can’t guarantee the other survivor will be running BT.

    2) Partly agree. Survivors shouldn’t be cocky enough to go gen rush. At that point they aren’t being tunneled. Not sure if I agree about unhooks again due to campers but at the very least there should be a limit on how much they can do.

    3) Undecided either way. Sometimes its exploited, other times the killers deserve it based on the way they play.

Its been over used alot, but I still think its a good example...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpc6dcrH1NE&feature=emb_logo

People dont like situations like this one. I'm completely ok with the perk acting as a true anti-tunnel. I'm not ok with survivors like this one being protected by it when he had enough time to heal up and follow the killer around. He's clearly not being tunneled, lets not let the anti-tunnel perk help him.

  • Had a game earlier where 2 people had the obsession brackets at the same time, lol. Only one of em was ACTUALLY the obsession though (Rancor wouldnt let me mori the 2nd one...darn).

    While I'm a Clown main...

I feel like one of my builds for Clown would work well for Huntress.

"Corrupt Intervention + Discordance + Infectious Fright + Whispers"

infectious fright is kinda meh since its TR based and Huntress has a smaller than normal TR at 20 meters.

  • whispers is great for her. Due to her slow movement speed, you dont wanna be spending too much time in areas looking for survivors where there isnt any. Also, with her movement speed plus large hum distance, her bane is often stealthy survivors...so youll need the tracking. I use nurses calling since the small TR suits it well and BBQ. Was using ruin but...

  • Its a fog whisperer charm. Did you remember the name of your killer?

  • Who's Adam Francis? Is that some kind of code? Jk, goodluck

  • I updated afew games I use to play before DBD and have just been hopin on those more when DBD stresses me out. Ive gotten rusty at Overwater and theres aton of stuff to grind for on Warframe now that I dont have.

  • Same thing happened to me afew weeks ago. I hooked a guy and turned to kick a gen...only to get stuck. Apparently the guy had Kindred, so his team just thought I was facecamping him since I was playing Bubba.

  • You do you. As long as it doesnt break any rules your free to play however you want. Meme builds can be fun sometimes.

Highly doubt they will be available for free. Every other event skin has been available for Auric Cells only.

Most of the time they offer some sort of event currency to use. Last year I got the Huntress cosmetic skin for example for year of the boar. Its odd that the same options arnt available for year of the rat.

If the only way you have fun as Killer is by making the game unfun for everyone then you should just quit playing Killer in general.

If ppl are playing facecamping Bubba t protest, they're gonna be deranking to your rank too

  • @AresBee said:

What rank are you on killer, out of curiosity?

Currently 8, lol. Just got an entity displeased followed by a survivor achievement.

  • I use to take the same exact pathing survivors took while chasing after them. If they vaulted a window, im going through that window even if theres a perfectly good door right next to it.

  • @Peanits said:

Not quite. Before there was no conceivable limit. The faster you whipped your mouse across the room, the further you would flick. Now there's a hard limit of 90 degrees, but you have full control during it.

Short version is that now you can flick a little further, and it'll feel much better.

You make it sound like people were throwing their mouse and hitting the neighbors cat to get a hit. If thats the case...the survivors have plenty of time to recover since you now have to take time to walk next door to apologize and retrieve your mouse.

  • @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1016734#Comment_1016734

I know this but because of the chase mechanic it is really annoying and the fact that it isn’t optimal is what makes it more annoying.

If your trying to waste a survivors time outside chase to screw with a helmet, thats one thing. I was talking about hitting and hooking the guy again.

  • As far as "tunneling" someone with a beartrap goes... If you have the choice between someone with and without one, its better to go for the guy without since the guy with a helmet isnt likely to hop on a gen. Still though, chasing people WITH helmets isnt a bad idea. If you find someone...hit them. Addons like the slow release toxic are there to help you in chases against survivors who are already trapped up.

True. But what about if they add difficulty levels? I feel that may help a little bit.

Thats actually the tricky part. Making an AI that messes up every now and then is hard, and you also wouldnt have any of the typical "mindgames". The bots would always know your location, so sneaking up on them with ghostface or myers for example would be impossible. Imagine playing against 4 OoO, but you dont see their aura and they see yours at any range... That would be what playing against bots would feel like. One one end, theyd be predictable and never spice things up from 1 bot to the next unlike humans do, so hitting them with Huntress hatchets shouldnt be too difficult. On another end, stealth killers would be a joke and theyd be pros at jungle gyms. No amount of red stain tricks and moonwalking is gonna matter.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/121763/anyone-else-just-losing-interest-in-playing-killer-at-this-point-i-dread-it

I feel ya. I used to go about 60/40 on survivor/killer but now it's closer to 85/15. I think that the pipping needs to be balanced. Idk if it's an aftereffect of the survivor BP buff from last year but it's insanely easy to pip as a survivor and you have to sweat so hard to pip as a killer.

If a "balanced game" is still a 2k in the devs eyes then a 2k should guarantee a safety pip.

I can understand why kills alone arnt the only deciding factor on dicting if someone played well or not, but I DO feel like more should be taken into account as far as things like instadowns, locker grabs and the likes go for emblem points.

Reason I say kills shouldnt be the deciding factor alone... is because its pretty easy to get 2 kills if you wanna just cheese it. I myself have played memetastic games where I'll do something dumb like wait by an exit gate all game, only to down whatever survivors show up with NOED and Rancor. Mori the obsession and facecamp the other... Voila, 2 kills and didnt even have to participate in the other 95% of the game.

  • @Mandy said:

Intentional or not, is not really the point.

The point is whether it's going to stay or not, and afaik there are no plans to change it currently.

As I said, the same thing happened with the Harvester Tech, it was in the game for a long while before it was recognised as an actual "tech", then officially recognised after it got added back into the game. This "tech" may or may not go the same way.

This is a quote from Almo on a thread about the hook tech from earlier today. Should give a good idea on the devs view on it.

    @Almo said:

We're aware of the problem and working on it. The fix turned out to be more complex than expected, so it's not slated for the imminent release. As usual, I can't comment on when it will be fixed, but we will definitely fix it.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

@LordGlint Hours played doesn’t always equal skill no, but it’s a pretty damn good indicator.

@WAR Killers not hard to rank up in either. None of the other killers in the game highlight this problem like Hillbilly does. I get what you’re saying but I still think Hillbilly is still slightly OP. I say this based on seeing him dismantle survivors time and time again over 1600 hours. There’s a real consistency there.

Thats what I said, lol.Why are your teammates dropping like flies if your the same rank as they are and doing just fine? If they're is such a huge difference between you and your teammates, shouldnt that indicate that your teammates shouldnt be in the same match as you rather than a problem with the killer...whom your winning chases again?

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1014681#Comment_1014681

    I have 1600 hours. (Sad I know).

The hillbillys have like half of that.

It shows that with vastly more experience you can overcome it. Just like people will run through dark souls with no armour and the worst weapon - because through time they gain the skill to overcome the handicap.

All this says to me is that Hillbilly is too easy for an average player to pick up and destroy other players of the same skill level. They can’t ALL be bad survivors, not every game.

If I went against a 4000 hour Billy like you see on Twitch I’m sure they would be less predictable and be able to mindgame me better and get me down quick. These hillbillys do very little of that yet still destroy.

Are you saying that your skill lvl is different from all of your teammates? Hours played doesnt equate to skill, although it can be a good indicator. Someone whos played for 1000 hours is more likely to be more skilled than someone with 100, but not necessarily. If you yourself are able to play just fine while your teammates are getting slaughtered, doesn't that just indicate that they shouldn't be in the same match as you rather than a problem with the killer?

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1014561#Comment_1014561

    But this always happens.

Ok the first game the survivors weren’t too bad and the Billy played well. So we can accept that.

Next game Billy was wrecking the survivors seconds after hooking the previous. Bad survivors? Ok fair enough. He chases me and I looped him for so long. He wasn’t that special a Hillbilly. Quite medicore. They were all the same rank on the tally screen.

Next game again he’s downing them in seconds, I get him to chase me and I evade him a good number of times so he gives up. The survivors were all higher ranks than him this time. Bad survivors again? The Billy wasn’t that great either.

But this happens all the time. People are quick to say bad survivors but consistently? Every game it just happens to be bad survivors again and again and again?

and when the Billys chase me most of the time they aren’t anything special just mediocre.

Its that consistency that highlights the problem. No other killer does this yet game after game Billy is a one man wrecking crew.

They can’t all be bad survivors. The people playing Hillbilly are probably the same people going down to him. It should be averaging out across a number of games but it never does.

    Billy is “overperforming”.

Why do you think your teammates are going down, but your not? Shouldnt that showcase that your better than your teammates when your facing the same exact killer as them but having vastly different results? Wouldnt your results showcase that the character IS infact counterable and that your teammates are failing at doing the exact thing that you yourself are doing?

how does his stealth ability help with going against crazy loops?

For the loops, he has his faster vaulting to help out. That can be huge at getting hits at shack and other loops that involve a window. The stealth can score him hits before a survivor GETS to the loops, but hes not completely helpless once they're there.

If we're talking Myers, the guy has better vaulting speed than the rest of the killer cast, even in T2. This isnt taking in regard is stealth capabilities or anything.

The beam of light is still going in the face, in their eyes. Perhaps they get blinded slower for looking up, but becoming impossible to blind by tilting up makes little sense.

Makes as much sense in that the sun outside only blinds you when you stare directly into it, rather than if it shines on your face normally with you looking strait ahead. If the sun doesnt have the ability to blind people indirectly, neither should a flashlight.

  • @TheHippo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1014471#Comment_1014471

The difference is it makes no sense if someone is shining a light directly at your face, but just because you're tilting up you suddenly aren't affected. It adds realism to actually have to turn away.

If we're talking about realism, shining a flashlight at my chin isnt going to blind me. If you cant shine the light at my eyes, dont expect to blind anyone.

Also for the sake of realism... Typically people also come with eyelids and would simply close their eyes, or at most..NOT get stunned by a flashlight. Your shining a beam of light at the killer's face, not hitting them with a bat.
