My guy that's a really cute fantasy but your one post that almost no one engaged with except to say you were wrong didn't get that perk nerfed.

And you are defending him, and supporting him by watching his content. Even if the only thing that's true is the disgusting stuff he has personally said than that's more than enough.

The downvotes on a dying forum are cracking me up tho. Keep going.

Its alright bud, Ill add upvotes to even it out. Go get em.

  • Yeah, I watched that video and it was terrible. Thats the kind of whining the gives killer mains a bad name. Compared to the past where you felt actually weak and just hoping someone misjudges distance as all you can really do is walk in a circle… most killers dont really have that issue nowadays, especially the newer ones. I have NEVER had a game as Jason where I felt where I was just powerless against the survivor team. I've had games where Ive lost, but that I can honestly say was just because I had a rough match and they were better than me. I definitely had the tools to get the job done and definitely wouldnt say I was "harmless". Just like with the survivor team in the video posted above… you're gonna lose a game every now and then. Thats kinda to be expected on both sides and we really dont need to put on our tinfoil hats and act like victims when it finally happens. I swear, hearing that survivor team talk was about as obnoxious as listening to River.

Rivers content might not be for everyone, but his videos of dbds balancing an design like his Blight or Ghoul video are some of the best Dbd videos. And the recent one is great too. If he was wrong about his takes in Dbd why can’t anyone proof him wrong? Everyone just insults him or says he is wrong without points such as in my Self Preservation post. You are just mad they nerfed it and used my main point under the patch notes. GG

you talking about the "harmless killer" video?

Referencing one of the game's most vile and detestable pieces of trash is one hell of a self report.

Some DBD CCs are just… rough. I remember awhile back seeing a video from the killer POV with the whole match ending in like 4 minutes. The survivors managed to get the gens done and the gates opened in crazy record time, which just left me going "I dont think that should be possible…". The entire point went completely out the window though since the killer in question was freaking Tru3Talent.

Nope, because the killer was nowhere near their level. You can see the killers doing some large misses that a good Judgement player wouldn't make. The Judgements they are facing are playing nowhere near as good as they are as a competitively organized team.

Keep in mind too that at a competitive level, even killers like Nurse will resort to hard tunnelling in most cases. The Judgements in this match were not even really trying.

Showing that without real skill at that level, and lacking the strategy and macro play at that level, they were still able to win against arguable one of the best Teams in the world, while making complete blunder shots and missing by an entire radius for 0 reason.
    Not even a peak performance.

Maybe showing a video of a "good judgement" absolutely stomping them would've been a better example then. Instead we see a team thats apparently been able to win over 150 matches in a row and a killer is called "busted" after a draw. Im sure the 150 games before this had them beating ppl playing judgement.

  • The matches in the video were extremely close games. I'd understand if it was a stomp, but... your saying the killer should be nerfed because they managed to challenge this team.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

As simple as bots are, they are still not the greatest to practice with on certain killers. For example on chucky i could barely kill 1 bot, but hes one of my highest kill rates against players.

I would suggest practicing against players without caring too much about losing. You would also see how the survivors try to counter the blinks and be able to react to that as well.

First thing you could do is try to get use to short range blinks which are the hardest to avoid. Afterwords you get a feel for leading your targets like firing a slower projectile, try to hit with the first blink or use the first blink to close distance then correct yourself and fire the 2nd blink that you are more likely to hit with.

I think they've actually changed bots not that long ago. They dont seem to be all knowing against stealth and such anymore.

One tin foil hat theory of mine is that "Official Forum" has a notion of deep discussion. Where the more Devoted players go.

So there are probably more "readers" then "posters" where as with reddit it's always a meme fest. And steam is something linked to the system most people play it on

Considering how many ppl play on console, trying to direct the playerbase to use the steam system seems kinda tone deaf. Most of my time on these forums has been through my phone... im not gonna download the steam app JUST to talk dbd.

Now now, let's not be unfair. BHVR totally listens to its community. And by community I mean it's biggest CCs. It will be easier than ever to do so now. Whoever doesn't repeat their views just won't be heard. But don't worry, you can still be noticed. Just play this game for a living and get a million subs, and develop them into a cult-like following who will repeat what you say verbatim.

Oh is that all, lol. Ill have that whipped up next week.

(Obviously the harrassment that followed was not ok and should have never happened. Being bad at communicating is no reason for that… but the Downvotes themselves (not the nasty messages) were kind of deserved)

Anyone still claiming that survivors can play brain off and be successful is lying to themself. How often do we have people complaining about "brainless" teammates losing the survivors the game. How often do we hear that doing this or that without thinking gets survivors killed. Then they turn around and claim survivors can win without thinking? The reality is that this game has become too competitive and too sweaty for either side to expect success playing that way. There is plenty of information survivors need to keep track of if they want to win and they don't get any of it basekit.

Mechanical simplicity doesn't mean a lack of depth, DbD is popular in large part because those simple mechanics lead to such depth, a day to learn the absolute basics, ages to master, its why so many people consider you a "baby" until you have 1k hours.

I feel like alot of the idea behind "brainless" survivors is that often times there is large portions of the match where the only thing you have to really pay attention to is hitting a skillcheck. This is typically when streamers are able to read their chat and such.

I agree with the chase music, but that's not his exclusive issue (Plague, Cannibal, Trapper, Freddy…they all have no own character/soul and are rather boring - changes would be great).

His perks are alright. I would even go as far as to claim his adept build plus one very strong regression perk already would be a decent build overall if you pair that with strong addons.

Knock Out will get buffed and I think this perk might actually get really nasty on certain killers, BBQ is a very decent aura perk. Franklin's Demise got nerfed quite a bit (loss of item charges is no more) but it is still decent in anti-item builds - especially when you are an M1 killer who only deals basic attacks.

You also still can camp, just not as direct/easy/braindead as before. But against a decent Bubba who knows his distances there is no way you get someone out of a shack basement at least not with an unavoidable trade of hooks.

Plus you can always use Insidious and defend the basement chest, which can be fun.

And tbf, Bubba is just a very simple character. Lorewise. I am not sure if this should be changed. He is straightforward and should stay like this. Maybe tweak some numbers or addons from time to time.

Franklin's I've found is also pretty great for countering sabo. Often times ppl will use a toolbox with sabo speed addons to tank a hit, sabo the hook and move while your in the cooldown animation. Franklin's can result in a confused survivor to just crouch by a hook wondering why they cant sabo it.

Compared to his former self he is, he's nowhere near as strong as he used to be.

He's not number 2 anymore barely number 3, out of the time 6 ish killers in the game he's by far the most map dependent as of right now since the changes.

Sure his power is still a very powerful and opressive chase tool. But it's no where near the chase strength of many other killers these days, and the killer takes far more skill to pull off than any other killer who's just as powerful in chase.

Okay so if we are nerfing killers based on the tier of strength, who else needs a nerf? Would you agree that the First and Vecna 2 need nerfs? They are just as strong if not stronger than blight.

I thought "Vecna 2" is the First...

We lost Pallets but gained vault speed. Considering Lithe is probably the best exhaustion perk now, it's not a bad trade. You can also run 5 Moves Ahead which is now more relevant.

I've seen worse guts to Survivor Perks. Not too worried about this one.

Im noticing alot of ppl using 5ma now. Considering that many ppl (myself included) were using WoO to keep track of which pallets were used rather than to see the locations of windows that dont change... it seems like an obvious swap to me. The only annoyance to me is I dont have the survivor nor the perk unlocked yet, but... thats an easy fix for me since its not a licensed character.

I agree it's a good change but I think it has made the offering screen itself not worth showing anymore. Anything that actually affects gameplay is hidden and only bloodpoint offerings are shown. The only exceptions are luck offerings the whole survivor team can use which some players use very questionably, but I doubt we'll have luck offerings at all by 2027 as Slippery Meat is already changing.

I'd honestly be fine with the offering screen not being shown at all and having every match start loading a few seconds earlier. But that'll never happen beacause they have to show off their temporary event offering animations.

Every now and then I get reminded that white ward is also a secret offering. Ill see it at the end score screen and get a giggle when I brought Franklin's that game.

  • @ForTheEntity said:

Is this a bait question to get people to break forum rules? Because I am pretty sure anyone saying they use luck offerings to go next could be construed as advocating for unsportsmanlike conduct. It's worse than DCing, because at least the bot won't quit.

I imagine it's only a matter of time before they retire luck offerings. I am kind of surprised they didn't retire them along side the Slippery Meat rework that's going live this patch. I'd argue that half of the luck offerings are worse than Slippery Meat because they let the whole team attempt to kobe.

Wasnt really meant as bait anything. Plenty of ppl were pretty open about "going next" before the change in kobe attempts. Didnt really think this would be any different, but was kinda thinking maybe SOMEONE used em for an attempt to turn a match around rather than ragequit. I know I tend to stick to just BP offerings, but other ppl use everything else from hook, hatch, fog or map offerings.

  • @cogsturning said:

Yes, every survivor match, and that's exactly why: killer assumes it's shack and goes there. The difference is hatch at shack has an almost 100% consistent spawn point and hatch at main can vary, and the killer may come back and find it before you.

First match of the night and first one I've seen in AWHILE.

  • @cammoking123 said:

Also gotta love how they're indirectly admitting aura reading has become a vital crutch for many killer players. Now who's getting their hand held?

You'd have a point if this perk just blocked auras instead of blocking even basekit tracking. Even someone using no perks or addons will get effected.

I am disappointed in the change to Stake Out. Specifically changing the skill check from "Great Skill Check" to "special" and intentionally nerfing the interaction / synergies with other skill check perks.

While I understand the purpose was likely to nerf players running crazy gen rush builds. I was using its synergy with Corrective Action as as a way to compensate when playing with a my spouse or friends with disabilities who struggle with Skill Checks. So much so that due to this hurdle the anxiety of Skill Checks made the game unplayable for them : ( I purchased Detective Tapp specifically to accomplish this and was happily willing to "sacrifice" half my perk slots to effectively do the skill checks for them if it enabled their to enjoy the game with me.

I know this is probably a specific situation that no one cares about but wanted to share feedback as something to consider.
    Thanks

if someone is having trouble hitting skillchecks in general, have you thought about showing them the change to "This is not happening"? A skillcheck size THAT big is basically impossible to miss.

Clown was one of the main offenders of oppressive haste stacking and why diminishing returns was needed, and honestly, the buff Singularity got back then where the 3% haste was converted to a speed increase should not have happened at all, there's no good reason he's allowed to bypass it but other killers can't, none of them should be able to

Theres actually afew cases of killer base speeds being boosted rather than applying haste. Animatronic for example constantly swaps between 110 and 115. You also have Myers doing similar speed swapping. Hag's waterlogged shoe similarly doesnt apply haste but rather changes the base speed. Point being… Singularity isnt a special exception and is in good company.

Maybe, even then it's still very meager compared to other info options we have available. There's definitely some killer perk buffs I'm a bit concerned about, but seeing so much hate for the whispers buff in this thread is so strange.

Whispers is handy in that its untraceable and uncounterable. Im debating on slotting this new version into afew of my builds such as on Jason. Ppl's tendency of stealthing Jason's UE won't help against whispers.

  • @Lavoonus said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4117467#Comment_4117467

It's crazy to point to whispers as an example of a massive buff, 5% haste when 24 meters away from any survivor is gonna be very hard to notice, over a distance of 100 meters it's going to get you there 1 second faster.

The haste is a minor benefit. The reduced area is the majority of the buff value imo.

  • I feel like I should remind you that elusive isn't JUST anti-aura but rather anti-tracking in general. It counters even basekit tracking like sounds, bloodpools and scratchmarks.

Pop being replaced with undone or someone slotting monstrous shrine into their build doesn't change the fact that I am still facing gen focused slowdown/regression/blocking with the killer going for a tunnel out. Some of the chase perks will see play but the primary meta will not change.

The survivor changes will not change which perks survivors run because our perk slots are already filled with anti-tunnel (StB nerf, Borrowed Time nerf, no other changes), anti-slug (no changes), gen speed (stake out replaced by this is not happening, no real change). FmA will just replace windows and beginners will need to run both meaning less space for anti-tunnel (even easier tunnel on the player trying to learn). Flow State needs to hit 3 tokens before its healing speed approaches Botany, endgame unhook is the only real advantage. Empathic doesn't work on yourself so still botany. Road life? Better to just bring a medkit.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4117599#Comment_4117599

Monstrous shrine will absolutely see play, pair it with pain res (untouched) and the new undone to kick gens with built up tokens when someone isn't on a scourge hook. You get an uncleansable ruin up most of the match while still being able to kick gens when necessary.

I feel like monstrous shrine is gonna need some serious looking into. It sounds good on paper, but... im just imagining every gen I've started regressing OUTSIDE of using the perk stop regressing after a save. That could very well result in negative benifit.

  • @Xray said:

Is this the official reason? I thought it was because killers were annoyed they couldn't tunnel off hook in the end game.

The vast majority of players use the protections to get away. Even with 15s, you still needed an extra teammate to tank a hit in the end game.

I would still rather have 15s haste and Endurance than the Elusive. I have noticed the difference quite a bit, with 15s seemed like killers would decide against going after me, and now it's more like they know it's worth it again.

Saw this earlier and feel like its a pretty good example. If this survivor DIDNT waste time bodyblocking, they would've had enough time to make the pallet (although Slinger still would've messed em up admittedly). 10 seconds is enough time to get to a pallet generally, but only if you arnt wasting a large part of it by standing still in a doorway. 15 seconds would've afforded them time to both bodyblock AND reach the pallet afterward.

Just to prove that they do take actions to reports of end game statements. I think I reported this one like early this year. Would be nice if it would show the report day too.

Thats abit underwhelming if it took them so long to take action. They at that point could end up "banning" people who arnt even playing anymore.

  • @Wezqu said:

Its really tedious for most survivors that know how to play go against a Scratched Mirror Myers. I usually don't find it that fun even if I know how to play against that style killer but it does not even have any downside anymore as you are normal speed and lunge distance was also made normal while using it since 9.2.0. So you can run any other add-on on him than before it was usually always the lunge increase add-on so you might get some hits easier. Like I am not saying it needs downsides but in the end its not the old Scratched Mirror Myers anymore and even then it was not in my opinion the most fun killer build to face anyway.

Newer players will most likely hate it quite a lot as you just have to accept that killer sees you all the time and can come from anywhere.

Pretty sure the obvious other addon is the brown one that makes you 110% speed.

  • 8 zombies with double nemi would be nuts, lol

  • @Arcturus said:

I think Plague is a big one, honestly there's a few other ones I think of.

The first one I think of is Bubba. Even if you have a ton of pallets, if you don't have multiple Scouts he'd probably shred through all the pallets on the map until at the end of the game you're left with almost nothing, but more than that he'd probably be able to find clusters of survivors fairly frequently and potentially get multiple instadowns in one sweep.

I think Trickster is similar to that last point for Bubba. Because of Main Event, Trickster could be even worse, as on more open maps the Main Event could last ages from all the blades hit and you could mow down several survivors at once.

There's also Judgment, who would benefit off of all the aura reading so much it would be insane. She would probably also get multihits accidentally all the time, and considering the quality of survivors in 2v8 I don't think many would be aware enough to dodge consistently.

There's also Pig, specifically with her head traps. If it weren't for the reverse beartraps she'd be fine, but she'd be half a killer at that point. If the head traps were added, it would probably be super common to get head pops from the amount of times two killers can interrupt the Jigsaw boxes. In addition, keeping that many survivors busy at once would be insanely powerful in 2v8.

Pinhead would be fine if not for his box. Imagining a global chain hunt happening in 2v8 is terrifying.

There are some others that would be bad, but I think these are probably the worst along with Plague.

Imagine having to both get rid of your reverse bear trap AND run around the map to turn in your Onryo tape.

Then you've clearly never played at a semi-decent level if you think those 5 seconds meant nothing. 5 seconds was a gamechanger against killers like unkown, artist, slinger etc. Literally a game deciding difference. The elusive only works if the killer is far enough away from the unhook and fails to track down the survivor. Sometimes its really good if a killer is far away and decides to go crossmap back to tunnel yes, but far less reliable than 15 seconds of bt which was insanely and undeniably powerful. If it wasn't more powerful, why did they nerf it then?

It was changed so it could address its actual purpose. They wanted to give a tool for specifically tunneling. If a killer is coming back to the hook, The elusive letting you throw off the tracking is a great tool to counter THAT whereas before they were just tossing on more and more BT time and being told its not enough to counter tunneling. They buffed it from 10 to 15, was told it wasnt helping address tunneling so they went a different direction. They played with the idea of elusive and doing things like delaying the unhook notification in a PTB awhile back specifically to target returning back to hook behavior.

Sidenote… I really have no clue how Artist is one of your examples here. Serious question, how is she at all any good at tunneling specifically? Unknown has his teleport thing which im guessing is why you mentioned him and Slinger can shoot you and wait abit before the hit… No clue why Artist was mentioned.

I don't know about this but at my skill level killer understands when to get back to hook. I can't imagine a killer who decides to tunnel to "return AFTER notif" and have no line of sight when unhook

Well, other people just have better imaginations I guess, especially if they have a map mobility skill. Their goal was to get there before the heal could be finished and follow the scratchmark trail with the blood stains.

How is elusive after unhook well.

Scenario 1: killer camped, they force a trade and follow behind you

Scenario 2: killer camped but got unhooked for free, they follow behind you

Scenario 3: killer dont camp, why do you need elusive in this case?

in 1 and 2, the 10 seconds is plenty to get to a pallet and the elusive isnt whats helpful. The elusive is helpful in 3 if the killer returns to hook after hearing the unhook notification. By the time they get back trying to tunnel, they have no clue which way you went…assuming you didnt try healing under hook. THAT is the whole point of the elusive after unhook. The killer doesnt know which way you went.

Sadly ALL map changes are general killer buffs. Remind me of Badham like where did Badham 2 3 4 5 go? Is there a patch note stating that?

Not sure about a specific patch notes page, but Im seeing a forum post from april of last year mentioning the removal of map variants in general, which was widely applauded from both sides.

This somehow escaped the patch notes (probably should've been included there) but as was mentioned on today's livestream, map variants have been removed from the game in today's update. This includes all the 2nd variants of Macmillan maps, the 2nd variants of the Yamaoka maps, Ormond 2 and 3 (not Ormond Lake Mine though), and all Badham maps except for Badham 1.

How do we feel about this? I always felt like most of the map variants weren't very good (except for Suffo Pit 2 being better than 1 imo), so overall I'm okay with this change.

I‘m tired to repeat in exchange for the unasked 5 sec endurance they nuked syringe and styptic in the same patch. Now endurance back to 10s with the useless elusive care to revert syringe and styptic?

Those have nothing to do with each other… That being said, since I DONT do the balance changes… You got it bud. Ill get on that in the morning. Heck, you specifically even get to be 10 percent faster.
