Elusive on unhook is great.. most are not using correctly tho.

I think adding this was great and I feel like I have more base kit variety to get away from killers who enjoys going back to hook

Combo with a med-kit is good you can run far away while staying out of LOS then heal with med-kit.

I mainly see it not being utilized eg, team mates running after me after unhook giving scratch marks for the killer, has killed me a few games now. been using the point emote when im unhooked trying to passively let people know to go away ๐Ÿ˜…

On team mate side I see many players not understanding the effect or just not utilizing it properly, if killer dont have LOS you can run to not obvious areas of map rather then just trying to heal at the obvious safe loop.

Proxy campers not really useful and extra endurance was more useful i will admit

but for tunnelers and back to hook enjoyers who are not camping I feel like I have more I can do base kit to combat that.

  • I actually agree with this. So many people that I have unhooked have not played into the elusive at all and it gets them killed. I've been rushing off to self-heal or proc Inner Strength, and it resets the game nicely with 0 risk of being found out unless the killer was actively watching the hook at the time.

I'm still not sure it's the ideal solution, but it's not as doom and gloom as people have pointed out with the 5s loss.

I still think the eventual solution will be an Intangible status where the survivor has no collision and cannot be hit, on top of haste and elusive. This'll prevent killer powers that chew through endurance and also prevent aggressive use of bodyblocking, which was the rationale behind the most recent change.

    But that will take time.

  • I like elusive but it's too short, I think the effect should be longer but the endurance stay 10 seconds.

casual players want healed, it should last like 30s to allow for a heal and a reposition, ofc I leave the hook instantly but some people follow you and basically lead the killer to you anyways.

  • It's only useful if the killer isn't proxying the hook which is mainly why I'm not a huge fan of the changes, plus the elusive duration gives away when the unhook protections are over. I still feel like these changes were rushed through too fast and not given a proper test since the last ptb wasn't good for that

I do think that is one of the major flaws, elusive needs to be on a longer timer so that killer cannont just wait out the scratch mark / sounds.

I dont think the system is as bad as ive seen alot of people seem to do tho.

Yeah i do not think it is a prefect system, but do think its better then just the 15 second endurance just due to the fact I feel like I have more leway in what i want to do gameplay wise,

having that run away and hide with 0 risk is so much better then 15 seconds of endurance in non camping siuations, it gives the surviours the ball "You can go hide and reset or be cocky and try to heal in open / do gens"

Do think intagible state could work if done correctly tho.

  • It's way too short. You can easily just guess someone's likely path and the marks and blood start up again quick, especially in areas where there are only so many ways to go. And running off without healing often means you're going down again fast. I've lost almost no one I've tried to follow after unhook. It's value has been about as small as fog vials on my end. It's only helpful when you can talk to SWF members and regroup with someone.

  • The reason why it got shortened to 10 seconds because it was abused, 15 seconds was way to safe and survivor were body blocking all the time and then they complain about tunneling when they are the ones to body block the unhooker and even with 10 seconds it's always possible to get to a material with endurance and haste so that's enough imo (not for basement but it's supposed to be the unsafe place for survivors and it's still possible to get the booked survivor out and it's possible to avoid the basement).

Is this the official reason? I thought it was because killers were annoyed they couldn't tunnel off hook in the end game.

The vast majority of players use the protections to get away. Even with 15s, you still needed an extra teammate to tank a hit in the end game.

I would still rather have 15s haste and Endurance than the Elusive. I have noticed the difference quite a bit, with 15s seemed like killers would decide against going after me, and now it's more like they know it's worth it again.

  • It should shield against Killer Instinct, but it doesn't help against it. 10s of Elusive is pretty modest, especially against certain killers. I still see massive post-rescue tunneling, even when they lost LoS usually due to KI or A Nurse's Calling.

  • just like the smoke bombs, survs keep pathing optimally and its just obvious. you don't need eyes to know a survivor likes going to a safe place. I try to be unpredictable and assertive with the elusive and it works out pretty nice. I play loud characters like Lisa and Feng so I quite appreciate it

I do think it can be bit short but I have not had issues escaping most killer who are going back to hook and not proxy camping.

Agree on certain maps / areas not as useful, basement gideon comes to mind,

But I had one slaughter house where I just ran in a rancid pathing direction then hid behind a rock that was behind main building away from playzone edge map (went half way across map) killer did look behind main building but I went far enough he didn't come all the way around to check behind the rock i was hiding behind because of elusive and he went back to pressure gen but was too late because he spent to much time checking around hook for me and I was able to heal with med kit and escaped.

Before elusive I would not have been able to get away like that without perks, but do think there is no harm in increasing how long elusive is in effect.

  • Elusive mostly does nothing that is true. But you can pair it with other perks such as bite the bullet or extrasensory perception to make tunneling killers coming for you driven insane.

  • This content has been removed.
  • It's worthless tbh, the extremely short duration makes it do next to nothing besides let tunneling killers who can't count to ten know when your endurance is gone. The main thing elusive has done is make tunneling a little easier.

Saw this earlier and feel like its a pretty good example. If this survivor DIDNT waste time bodyblocking, they would've had enough time to make the pallet (although Slinger still would've messed em up admittedly). 10 seconds is enough time to get to a pallet generally, but only if you arnt wasting a large part of it by standing still in a doorway. 15 seconds would've afforded them time to both bodyblock AND reach the pallet afterward.

    Unlikely.

Absolutely not. Maybe you're new to DBD, but we already tested 30 second elusive on unhook during the 9.2.0 Krasue PTB and it was immediately weaponized by survivors. 10 seconds appears to be the sweet spot, assuming survivors can learn to adapt and not chase an unhooked survivor and give their position away.

Weaponized by survivors, are you hearing yourself, it's not endurance.

It's to help the unhooked avoid being tunneled, if it's working then they are doing its job, that's no weaponizing. Sometimes some players just say things and make literally no sense. The killer can literally follow you as of right now and as soon as they here injury noises, insta down.
