My feedback regarding this, just to add another vote towards the decision should it change.
First, I'm not in favor of the forums being shut down. Reddit is terrible for trying to find useful information. The majority of posts there are random memes, and any opinion or post that is even slightly unpopular, even if a fair criticism, gets downvoted into literal oblivion. I will not spend hours of my life scrolling 10+ pages back to find information that might actually be relevant to the game.
Second, I'm not going to join another Discord server. I'm not anti-Discord, but the format there does not support reasonable creation of new topics in any sort of organized way. I'm not going to remain glued to BHVR's Discord 24 hours a day to keep track of any useful information before it gets buried in random noise.
Lastly, the Information Center of the forum is the single most valuable part of it. If the forum shuts down and we lose that, then I feel that BHVR has truly lost the plot. -

I like elusive but it's too short, I think the effect should be longer but the endurance stay 10 seconds.
casual players want healed, it should last like 30s to allow for a heal and a reposition, ofc I leave the hook instantly but some people follow you and basically lead the killer to you anyways.Absolutely not. Maybe you're new to DBD, but we already tested 30 second elusive on unhook during the 9.2.0 Krasue PTB and it was immediately weaponized by survivors. 10 seconds appears to be the sweet spot, assuming survivors can learn to adapt and not chase an unhooked survivor and give their position away.
-
I would be in favor for a base kit Shattered Hope, but I don't agree that boons should only be set once.
-
Yeah, I detest the new Play button as well. It's too big, covers up the killer's legs/cosmetics I paid real money for and can only admire in the lobby, and doesn't even show me how long the estimated queue time is anymore! All so it can show some fancy burning animation no one asked for? Please just burn the code that powers this thing and revert it to the previous UI.
Even worse, if you're in a lobby waiting for the match to start, it no longer shows you the 1 minute count down timer before the match starts, and if everyone hits their respective ready buttons, the Play button burns away and disappears, THEN a survivor dodges the lobby in the final 7 second countdown timer… The Play button never returns and you can't cancel your ready state and even the Back/Esc button on the left vanishes.. You're just stuck in that lobby until another survivor shows up to start the match or you force close DBD. -

The ending of the Killer power is to prevent the Knight from being locked out from his power for too long if the pathing is greater than 48m.
But the Knight still has access to his power; He can switch to one of his other two guards and send a new hunt out which automatically cancels any hunts in progress, putting the guard that was previously in chase on cooldown.
The argument of "being locked out from his power" does not make any logical sense with how the Knight has played since his rework. -
I have a few builds for my favorites, so the kill rates are not attributed to any specific build, just my overall ability.
Skull Merchant: 67.71% Kill Rate all time, 71.43% last 30 days
Build 1;
Turn Back the Clock | Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance | Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain | Scourge Hook Jagged Compass
Add-ons: Ultrasonic Speaker, Adaptive Lighting.
This has been my go to build since Henry was added. I prefer to lean into Skully's stealth, hence Adaptive Lighting. Gen regression is maintained primarily with Turn Back The Clock, with Pain Res acting as a support. I prefer to use 2 Pain Res early in the match, then save the remaining 2 for mid-late game. Counter intuitively, I actually use Jagged Compass for its ability to point me to the gen with the most progress so I can zero in and interrupt it as needed. The ability to create more scourge hooks is just an added benefit. Gift of Pain serves a dual purpose as the Hemorrhage can be taken advantage of thanks to Skully's on-demand stealth, but if I miss the heal interrupt, it provides some passive gen defense with the repair speed debuff. Ultrasonic Speakers are pretty much a must use if you want to get any benefit from Claw Traps, naturally.
Build 2:
Call of Brine | Nowhere to Hide | Pop Goes the Weasel | Oppression
Add-ons: Expired Batteries, Ultrasonic Speaker
My comfort gen-kick build. Expired Batteries act to save me a perk slot from Lethal Pursuer so I can get into my first chase ASAP and get the hook-Pop-repeat cycle started. Call of Brine and Pop for immediate and sustained regression on kick, Oppression to reduce the likelihood of survivors leaving partially completed gens on the map for later, and Nowhere to Hide to determine if I have any rats nearby that could interrupt CoB. With this build I rely more on my chase and laser-tagging than stealth.
————
Knight: 66.27% Kill Rate all time. Not played in last 30 days
Lethal Pursuer | Nowhere to Hide | Pop Goes the Weasel | Oppression
Add-ons: Town Watch's Torch, Call to Arms
Pretty much the same build as my second Skull Merchant setup for the same reasons. With this one though, I start the match by running to the largest concentration of survivors on the map (ideally if 2 or more are jumping on the same gen), get within about 20-24 meters so they don't hear my TR, and then send my Jailer out to their position with the added range from Call to Arms. I then actively ignore the survivor detected by my Jailer and instead head to the gen being worked on while Undetectable, often times getting a grab in the process. If I'm particularly lucky or in the zone, I can get a hook and another injure or two before the Jailer finishes that first chase. For the remainder of the match I try to keep at least two areas pressured at any given time. Jailer to keep someone busy and extend my Undetectable as long as possible, Assassin for chasing injured survivors in hopes of an easy down while I'm chasing someone else, Carnifex only for breaking pallets in chase.
———-
Myers: 59.50% Kill Rate all time, 73.44% last 30 days
Turn Back the Clock | Agitation | Thrilling Tremors | Silent Shadow
Add-ons: Memorial Flowers, Fragrant Tuft of Hair
I'm actually in the minority of long time Myers players that actually enjoys Slaughtering Strike. That said, I do get a kick out of OG-style Fragrant Tuft Myers. The idea of this build is to rapidly down and hook people in Evil Incarnate mode while Undetectable with Silent Shadow. Trilling Tremors block gens, but is mainly used to show me which gen is being worked on so I can beeline to it after a hook, with Agi helping to facilitate that, while TBtC stops any work on the gen at range as well as add a jump scare and confusion as I come in with an insta-down attack. An argument can be made that Judith's Tombstone would provide more synergy for this build than Memorial Flowers, but I found that since Evil Incarnate mode is reduced to 40 seconds with Tombstone, it's too easy for the cycle to get interrupted if the survivors play smart and/or sneaky. Plus MemFlowers provide consistent value throughout the match up until end game when Silent Shadow fully kicks in. -
I got the same problem as the rest of you. Sent a ticket in to BHVR support, so… fingers crossed.

It's getting pretty bad i won't lie i got survivors body blocking me with invisible from getting hooks and it's like cool guess I'm not even allowed to get 1 hook no more. People be talking about events been casual but I get survivors doing the most aggressive things with these buff going out there way to make sure I get the least amount of bp possible.
Just Kills my will to play the game
This has been my biggest frustration with this event. The survivors go out of their way to prevent me from interacting with the event outside of the only thing they can't stop me from doing, poisoning tables.
Try to take chase? Invisibility or speed boost to Narnia. Manage to find them anyway, get a hit and poison them to secure the down? Oops, lost a gen and they just got remote healed to full. Try to patrol gens to locate anyone for a chase? Nah, they preran with a speed boost or invisibility the moment they could hear the terror radius. Actually manage to secure a down? Get body blocked by a conga line of invisible or invulnerable survivors so I can't even get some damn BP from a hook.
I never got into playing Ghoul/Billy/Nurse/Blight. I don't enjoy them so I'm not practiced with them. I normally play M1 killers, so most of my experience is with them. They're what I enjoy. But if I want to participate in the event, I'm actively punished by the event mechanics for trying, and then denied being able to even get a consolation prize in BP by my opponents. It would be bad enough if it was just all the busted event powers I had to deal with, but pile on survivors going to extreme lengths to make my play experience not only miserable while at the same time actively doing all they can to prevent me from earning any BP? It's literally the definition of unsportsmanlike.
I used to get really excited about the anniversary event. Even last year, with the reduced cakes, I still played a ton and had fun as killer and survivor. But after getting my face pushed in match after match, and not even being allowed to make it worth my time by earning some BP just makes me not want to play the game at all. It's disheartening. -
I have every killer and have played every killer, but my ride or die remains Skull Merchant. I've played her in every iteration from her release to present, through thick and thin.
What originally drew me to her was the idea of playing this mastermind character that conducted the survivors like actors on a stage, all towards a finale they could never escape. With her original "chess merchant" kit, I could see the easy way to play her was to camp gens and time out a match or just whittle down the survivors until they made too many mistakes. And I could see most players gravitated to that play style since it was so easy. Back then I went a different route and focused on chases and end games.
Leaning into the whole "mastermind power fantasy" I'd take it a step further and begin my matches by placing drones on the obvious three gen, then proceed to intentionally play poorly; whiffing hits, taking chases away from the 3-gen, poorly defending the gens and letting the survivors break it early, often within the first 2-3 minutes. And all of this was working towards the goal of making them over confident and building the stacks for my end game perks. Then, when they were clearly gloating after popping the last gen with all the moonwalking, clicking, bagging, etc, I'd snap the real trap shut and start taking them apart one by one. it was a damn fun time.
When she got her first rework, it took some adjustment, but since I had already been used to leaning into her stealth and chase i adapted way easier than anyone that played her lazily. I think, despite her bevy of nerfs, I've stuck with her because I've always loved playing her against type and I have an obstinate streak a mile wide. At this point its almost a personal mark of pride to main her despite everything done to her kit and her bad reputation. -
I made a separate post regarding it, but the actual cake numbers per prestige are 27 for killer and 18-27 for survivor.
Survivor gets 18 guaranteed and potentially 9 more from the random boxes.
And that is after the buff and only if you manually spend. -
I was cautiously optimistic BHVR would have returned the cake drop rate to what we saw prior to year 9.
Guess I was wise to lean into the cautious part of that. The fact they made no meaningful increase to the drop rate, kept the rarity to the absurd "Very Rare" level, and did nothing to address the fact that Survivor bloodwebs are more impacted because the cakes compete with the event items, is frankly insulting to players time and dedication to their game.
Is the 5 million BP compensation nice? It would have been if the cake spawn rate had actually been reverted to previous years. But with the spawn rates barely increased, it reads more like a distraction to shut people up.
Overall, this feels pretty tone deaf. Whoever it was in management that made the call to change the anniversary cake spawn rates last year and this year needs to reevaluate how much of a PR blunder this was and either revert the spawn rates or own up to this and explain to the community like we're 5 why the change was made in the first place. Then we can see if the decision was done for overall positive reasons for the games health or not. I'm doubtful. -
I originally bought the game because I saw Ash Williams was in it and I'm a HUGE Evil Dead fan. This was right when he released, sooo.. like 2019ish? Plus Michael Myers was in it so double awesomeness! But then i realized you don't really get to play as Ash, you just play a dude that looks like Ash playing hide and seek. No chainsaw hand, no shotgun, just hide and seek. So the game just collected dust in my Steam collection for years without me even downloading it once.
Fast forward to 2021 and the release of Halloween Kills and the accompanying re-release of the original 1978 Halloween. I was so hyped by seeing Myers on the big screen again that I remembered that I had bought a game with him in it, and thought "hey, might as well give it a try since I already paid for it." And from that moment on, I fell down the rabbit hole and have been a hardcore player ever since. -
Yeah. We basically get to play as Clown on hard mode.
Yay? -
I mostly play killer, but I do have two favorite survivors that are pretty equal in their prestige; Ripley and Taurie.
Taurie I picked because I really loved the idea of a (semi)reformed bad guy. The fact she's Scottish and most of her non-cultist outfits show she's a punker just makes her that much cooler. Plus, voice lines.
Ripley on the other hand, I specifically run her as Ripley 8. Don't get me wrong, I love Alien and Aliens as much as the next person, mostly because of Sigourney Weaver, but I have a serious soft spot for Alien Resurrection even though it's kind of a bad (but fun) movie. The fact that they chose to include Ripley 8 blew my mind, and I've stuck with her ever since.
Plus, almost no one runs Rip 8, so I get to feel like a special unique princess snowflake when I play her. -
Answering the OP, the only reason I ground through event matches as killer was specifically to clear the quests. Now that I have them done, I'm not touching the mode with a ten foot pole.
I'm told the event is supposed to have more than one broken global effect, but I had six matches in a row that were all the Invisibility/Teleporter one. Silly me for being excited and bringing out my favorite M1 killers, the entire match was chasing someone until I get my first hit, then the zoom off and turn invisible, then hide in some corner to reset. I try to shift focus to defend a gen, they prerun, and if I try to take the chase, poof. Invisible.
This has been a very miserable experience to play. 😥
[Edit addendum] Further salt in the wound, half of those six matches the survivors were t-bagging, clicking, rapid enter/exiting lockers the entire time to rub it in, so they knew exactly what they were doing and how un-fun it all was for their opponent. Absolute sore winners. -
Bloodlust should be removed from that list considering its still required to deal with multiple loops that are infinite without it. If the mechanic is required to deal with poor map design, it's not hand holding. It's necessary.
-
I agree. I have one killer I need to P100 before him, but once I get there he's next. I'm not even particularly good at playing ranged killers, and I know I end up throwing my matches trying to do it, but I keep trying to pin survivors to walls. It is easily the most satisfying ranged attack.
-
WHAT!? Dang it I was waiting for payday to get that one! I barely play Krasue, but that skin was amazing, especially in head mode.
BHVR, please bring it back! -
Wow, this is the latest reaction to The Ghoul being released I've seen yet. OP, you're almost a year late to the part-….
rereads the OP's first postOoooooooh.
Naw, Jason's fine. He's surprisingly balanced and fun to play against and as. He just rewards macro knowledge from the survivors instead of the "plastic keys jangled in your face" play you get from the standard dash killers. -
Honestly? I'd prefer a bunch of unknown, but well casted actors for the main survivors. I want to see some actors get a chance to shine without having a named talent take all the glory for a role they're unsuited for, but attached to solely for their name recognition. Sadly, I know that's not what gets butts in seats so a recognizable actor or two will end up in the film.
That said, I sincerely hope Nicholas Cage at least makes a cameo as himself. -
I sort of enjoy their music, and I did like the song, but this behavior from the band has cemented my decision to not spend my money on their cosmetics even though I thought the Legion mask was kind of cool.
Really, really bad look Ice Nine Kills. -
The smart play would have been to save them for getting a bunch of anniversary cakes.
I instead chose to dump around 6 mill to get my Jason up to P3 (I don't auto spend. I want to curate the addons and offerings I get).
The rest went into getting my Skull Merchant closer to P100. 😎 -
Don't get me wrong. I love Skull Merchant and have mained her since her release, through every iteration of her kit. She does need a lot of buffs. But until that happens, we'll have to work with what we got, That means getting solid with the macro-play to really benefit from her Undetectable-on-Recall, keeping track of survivor positions by seeing where they're disabling drones, effective rotation switching, and laser tagging.

The main problem I have is that you dont have undetectable in loops when you deploy a drone, you only get it when you recall one and that literally requires you to remove map pressure (tbf the drones dont do anything outside of chase so it doesnt matter) for what a few seconds of undetectable? Idk I just dropped her for Springtrap because she feels so clunky
I think you're missing the point Pidgeon was trying to make. Undetectable when you drop a drone lets the survivor know you're still there because they can see the drone's orange aura in the area. Plus the effective duration of the Undetectable is WAY shorter than you realize, so you're only getting maybe the same amount of benefit in hiding your red stain as you would by moon walking.
In case you weren't aware, the way Undetectable works on killers in regards to their terror radius is that it doesn't instantly remove your TR when you trigger Undetectable. Instead, your TR shrinks over a set amount of time until it's completely gone. So if you were previously trying to drop a drone at a loop while in chase to use the Undetectable in that chase, you weren't really accomplishing anything in the way you thought you were.
Undetectable on recall is significantly better in that it rewards planning your attacks and gives you more time to successfully ambush survivors, especially if you run Adaptive Lighting. Also, why make the argument that it removes map pressure when you previously complained the drones didn't feel rewarding because it takes three scans to get an injury? (Discounting the unavoidable detection you also get from a Claw Trap…) -
Weird stuff started happening once the scene got dark and fog started rolling in.
-
Ready or Not 1 & 2. The main character, Grace would be a perfect survivor.
They Will Kill You. Zazie Beetz's' character Asia Reeves would also be an amazing survivor and fits DBD.
Dog Soldiers or The Howling. Come on, we've needed a true werewolf killer for years (Dracula doesn't count) and these two licenses are the best. Dog Soldiers almost works better because it has several excellent survivor options.
My Bloody Valentine. Yeah, I know there's a Trapper skin inspired by Harry Warden already in the game, but a proper license tie in would be sweet.
Pumpkinhead. How is this not already in the game!?
Phantasm. Others have already mentioned it in this thread, but The Tall Man, Reggie, Mike and Jody are pretty much ideally suited for this game. Give The Tall Man the kill spheres as his main power and add a Morningside Cemetery map with an evil dwarf jumpscare hidden on it, and you're set.
Manhunt. I figure this would work more as a cosmetic collection for existing killers and James Earl Cash as a survivor. -
I don't like Twins.
Not because of the bugs. I play other bugged killers and have learned to "enjoy the suck."
Not because of the playstyle. I don't have an opinion one way or the other about slugging when playing as either killer or survivor.
No. The reason I don't like Twins is because I find Charlotte fugly as all hell and can't stand looking at her. It doesn't even matter that I do enjoy playing the killer, I just can't stand looking at her pug nose. -
Overall I like the map as a killer and as a survivor, but I will agree that some of the god pallets and the god windows need to be revisited as they can make chases actually untenable for a large number of the killer roster.
All told, I feel it needs a few tweaks and it will be in my top 10 of favorite maps. -

The issue is caused by a recent change to his visual effects. Perhaps be less dismissive of the issue if you aren't actually informed on it.

If they want to screw over their team by not even giving them a bot to play out the match, they get put in time out, slugged until they either own up to their BS and play the match or give the team a bot.

I think larrys downed by then autoaim he has (tbh I dont use it because it doesnt work for me its same button as switching camera to another only difference is that you have to hold it but it never aims on that survivor for me just switches camera if I hold it and theres some other biopod/camera in view, thast why I dont use it doesnt work for me and makes this killer way more complicated for me and clunky).
I know its not autoaims that just aims for you but it helps him orient the direction where survivor in range is so it helps, sadly it doesnt work for me I tested it and for me it just swaps cameras and doesnt aim to survivor in range but if I take it in count this makes larry not that hard (if you play with this autoaim assist and use it) because it does the hardest part of his power for you (finding that survivor while fighting disorientation and getting that hit or tp from it before that survivor gets from range or hides), second hardest part is knowing where to place you biopods to get good value but that isnt that hard as thing I mentioned above.
Cant denny he is harder killer to play but this feature makes him esier if it works for you.
I have to agree with you there. It's one thing to see a HUX player that uses the cameras as an effective surveillance system.
It's a whole other thing to see one that can use them in chase, juggling angles and keeping multiple survivors busy without losing momentum. I wish I had the time to put in to being able to pull off the tricks those players can. -
Honorable mention to consistently laser-tagging with Skull Merchant.

In terms of scratchmarks disappearing, does Ghost notes (scratch marks disappear 50% faster whilst exhausted) and lightweight (scratch marks disappear 5 seconds faster) stack with each other?
Yes, but you have to be exhausted to make it work. That's the proviso a lot of people overlook, so you'll want to combine those perks with Sprint Burst for full effect.
-
I would LOVE if, in a world where they were able to add Scary Movie's Brenda to DBD as well as Sidney Prescott from Scream, Brenda would say that line if they happened to be in the same lobby.
-
It's a perk that, though very powerful, is only truly valuable when used with coordination and by players with solid macro knowledge of the game. Since most survivor players are casuals, solo queue and/or maybe duos, it doesn't make a lot of sense to bring it when there are easier to use perks that give immediate rewards with minimal to no effort (looking at you Windows and Vigil).
So that's the main reason you generally will never see it in low MMR games, and rarely see it in mid MMR games. However, as I understand it you do see it more frequently in the high MMR lobbies, but I can't confirm that because I'm fairly certain my MMR is not high enough to get put in those queues, and can only go by what I've seen top end streamers dealing with, and through second hand accounts. -

Im a Trickster's main and i prefere so much more this version ( 4.4 with 6 blades) than 8 blades and 4.6. Now his feels so much more like the old version before te Chucky's update, and hes personality is back. I prefer this version than the 8 blades version. 8 blades was a terrible decision.
Can you please explain why you feel the old version was better to those of us who aren't Trickster mains?
[Edit] To those of us who don't play Trickster regularly, but do play ranged killers, he doesn't feel fun to play as now, much as he didn't feel fun to play when he was originally 4.4. I'd like to understand why someone would find a killer "better" with "more personality" when they're slower and require 6 times as much effort to get a health state as other ranged killers, and even worse map mobility than the majority of the killer roster. -
I want to like Trickster post rework, but… I just don't find him fun to play as anymore. Who was this rework for? It feels like I have to put in nine times as much work as Huntress or Deathslinger to get value from my power, all while moving at molasses speed while I watch survivors dart off while holding Shift-W the moment I even point my lullaby in their direction.
I was seriously tempted to drop the big bucks on the Mina skin because it looks amazing and the mori is top notch, but I waited to actually try the new Trickster first. I'm glad I did and saved my money because I'm just not excited to play Trickster now. Hell, I'm even leaning into just playing 10 matches of killer for the latest quest instead of more matches of Trickster.
The whole situation just leaves me feeling bummed out. 😥 -
It feels incredibly un-fun to play on as killer. The windows are just absurdly abusable if you don't bring bamboozle.

I hit people coming out of Undergate maybe once every 5 to 10 times I do it. It's very dodgeable if you watch where the center will be. His vines are also very dodgeable. I've had many matches where I've gotten two or three hooks because good survivor can easily dodge and he is otherwise slow as hell. Holding W wrecks him.
This has been my experience playing as Henry as well. Frankly, it's pretty disheartening how easily he's countered by the game's most boring strat, Shift W.
-
Dude. Your video is set to private. No one can see what you're talking about.
-
I am just not having fun playing as him. His visual design, voice acting, alternate cosmetics, all S+ tier. But playing as him? It's just been miserable. In six matches I've managed to get a hit with Undergate exactly once because the player was clearly tuned out and not paying attention while on a gen. After that, he's hard countered by prerunning, even while running Mindbreaker to prevent Sprint Burst.
If I dedicate my entire perk and addon list to aura reading, his vine attacks can feel decent sometimes, but it seems like the vines must have some sort of cue that is giving away I'm going to use them. How is it that survivors are able to perfectly dodge a vine attack behind two walls on Lerry's Memorial while I watch their aura with Lethal and I'm All Ears?
I want to like this killer, but having pre-running be his hard counter is just not an enjoyable experience. It feels like I've gotten stuck in a walking simulator. 😔 -
