I’m already playing the Witcher 3. But sure, encourage people to leave the game without voicing genuine criticism...that will surely solve the bad queue times and improve the state of the game!
Thanks for reminding me, I was gonna look into that and hope its on sale.
Edit: IT IS!!! 70% off, score

no, 1 person having ds is not op, I believe it's fair, 4 is not fair.
Adding roles to the game would make things so much easier.
Gen master, healer, looper and support. ( just a sample )
Gen master repairs 3% faster than normal, healer repairs 3% slower than normal ( but heals faster logic xD ), looper ( ds user ) and support repair normally. There is so many perks in the game that could lead to the setup like this.
Malcom said in the last stream ( the bald guy idk his name sorry so since he was in the middle let's call him Malcom ) that their intention is to make survivors work together and interact with eachother. That could be easy solution to their problems, even ruin wouldn't be that important anymore or ds to all of the 4 players. Rules of the killer would also have to change in this case.
BUT they are lazy to make matchmaking according to personal winrate and divisions to truly separate level of high skill cap from the ones with lower and mediocre skill cap ( not insulting, just saying )
DS wouldn't even be so important to all of the survivors just like ruin change to killers because things would be different in so many ways.
lil edit: ds function and the way it works is better now I agree.
But stun that lasts 5 seconds is horrible, 4x5 = 20 seconds of wasted time sometimes means a lot.
DS is not perk for all 4 survivors. I disagree with that and that's it.
As for NOED....
I would add stacks to the noed.
How many survivors you hook, that many minutes your noed lasts and after that time the totem expires.
Ruin change could've been: Until you don't clean the hex all survivors are incapable of repairing and (or) dropping pallets while injured.
There is so many possibilities to make this game so fuking amazing. Ah...
Baby devs. :*

the first who get's paired into the game is the one who owns the ability to equip ds. In case first person doesn't second will equip it, third and fourth can equip any other perk. Why not to restrict op perks to only one player?
Well, I payed for the unfinished game, full of bugs, I have bought all the dlc's, I've been hit trough the window even tho I started running after I vaulted it, my dead hard doesn't work, I get gen rushed all the time because maps are trash. I already explained myself on some other topic but I believe mods deleted it because they can't stand facts. Like clown devs.
We payed for many things and they got nerfed, so I really don't understand why you noobs can't live without ds. :)
Maybe you should just git gud.
I'm a killer main who doesn't even have DS unlocked(as well as many other survivor perks). I'm just being realistic. As far as OP things... you don't balance around making it so only 1 person is allowed to be OP, but rather making it so it's not truly OP to begin with. Fortunately MoM got squashed quickly and as for DS, hopefully changes to make it a true anti-tunnel perk will come soon. DS is alot fairer than it's original version at least.

All i want is to have fun, not put 30 thoughts into a single decision. Do survivors have to do that? Hell no!
I want to have my 4 BBQ stacks and more bloodpoints. But this needs time to do it. I want to play to chill but also improve my account AKA win bloodpoints.
But in 6 minutes that i can't hook anyone, how can i get the stacks? It should be easier for a killer to down someone. I'm not even asking to win the game everytime. Occasionally would be a good goal.
What you described is pure sweat and i don't want that. I just want to have a game to have fun.
But something is wrong when if both sides play for fun and 1 side always wins. When both sweat, the depip squad has the advantage and mostly wins. I play at red ranks and cant rank down because rank reset is really bad now and i easily pip with legion and doctor.
What I describes is situational awareness of whats going on around you as opposed to just the 1 survivor infront of you. I dont necessarily have to sweat through a match to be aware of peoples locations and when I should prioritize a different target. I'm not trying to lord over you or anything, but trying to actually help. The game can get overly stressful at times. Try watching this real quick to recognize an example of what I'm talking about. Fungoose does these educational videos and narrarates his thought process, which is actually a good example to follow. Theres plenty of little tricks you can pick up for each killer mid chase, but I'm not gonna go into all that, lol. This is a good example of time management.
Was looking through his posted games for a good example of how he's constantly looking around for scratch marks to keep tabs on multiple survivors as he's doing EVERYTHING.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqnTWw06LjsId highly suggest you watch some of his stuff for yourself though and not just this video, as its actually pretty good.

And I didn't mean to defend Unbreakable in first place, like I said.
Unbreakable is just an example of a 1 time use perk. My point was around the 1 time use logic, not any 1 particular perk.

It's 4perks vs 12 perks.
4 people vs 1 guy
1 ds is enough, with 4 ds's you lose 20 seconds of the game, and thats 25% of one gen.
Why did they nerf enduring then when you get hit by ds? They want survivors as power role, they can sell donuts to kids but not to adults who analyse their behaviour, their actions.
Ok, lets take a walk down this road. Who gets to use it? You load in with 3 randoms with identicle loadouts. Does the game just pick 1 at random and tell the others "Hey, you know that thing you paid for so you can use? Well Rando number 3 is using it so swap off"?

It's not the only piece. For example, multiple triggers for DS or Unbreakable would be absolutely broken. Single time use makes them just annoying.
My point is that "1 time use only, so its fine" is poor logic for deeming something strength. DS has always been 1 time use, but its still been changed away from its original design of "stun the guy who dares down me" and at least given SOME limits. That was just an example... Like I said to someone else, old BNPs has also only been one time use items, but the original version was still too strong. Defending anything in the game with "well its one time use so its ok" doesnt mean much. Im not calling unbreakable OP or anything, just that the "one time use" argument is a poor one.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
A good rework would be allowing 1 player using ds in the match only.
Other 3 are seeing it blocked and removed from their loadout.
They're not gonna do that. For one, how does it decide who can use it and who has to change their loadout? For 2, theyre not going to block out perks/items that you lvled up your character to get. If you bought that DLC for that perk, it would be really ######### for them to not allow access to it.

I'm saying Unbreakable is limited in power by being once per match...it doesn't end the game when you use it.
Like I said, im not debating the strength of any perk. Im debating the logic of "its once per match so its fine". BNPs and instaheals for example were also "once per match", but they still needed to be toned down. Old BT use to be "once per match", but actually got changed so it could be used multiple times and actually felt more fair AFTER the change.

SO the killers job is to hit people and let go. They heal, then repeat. This sounds like A.I. to me ngl.
You end up exhausting the important pallets nearest to the gens instead of allowing them to waste your time by chaining pallets together. You'd end up chasing 1 guy off a gen, just for them to use a pallet 10 meters away, then another 20 meters from the gen, then 30... As opposed to going after the guy on the gen who isnt gonna reach the nearest pallet because its too far away from the last safe spot. While theyre healing up, go after their teammates. Alot of times you'll end up in situations with 4 injured survivors who are either gonna go down if they hop on a gen because its a dead zone or theyre gonna use time healing up, allowing you to venture away from the gens.
If doesnt matter if you chase 1 guy who drops every pallet on the map by camping them until you show up, it takes too long and the gens will finish. You HAVE to rotate.

It depends. If i see that the survivor has a good map knowledge I make them drop a pallet or 2 and i go to the gens again. If not, I make the survivor drop safe pallets for around a minute.
I can't give exact chase times, it's not even realistic count that, but under a minute I can assure you that it is.
Either way, the correct answers are not being answered. The good question would be: "How many gens can be done within the first 2 minutes of the game?". Well, sometimes, there is the possibility to do 3. But technically, there can be 4 gens done (but that is 100% unrealistic).
Thats just it, like I said...10-15 seconds. Get a hit or a pallet and move on. If you get a hit after 2 seconds, unless you think you can get another one right after...move on.
-
@Ancheri said:
Well you could just leave them on the ground anyway. That's additional pressure and Unbreakable only works one time a match. If I accidently tunnel a person I let them lie on the ground anyway just because I feel bad. Of course one minute is not the shortest period of times, but that's just a part of the game: Noting who was already hooked and when.
Never really understood the whole "only works one time" argument. Some of the strongest things in the game only work 1 time. Keys only let you open hatch 1 time and a mori only kills you 1 time.

Didn't you read what i've written? I give up on chases to pressure gens and only break the very safe pallets. But there are so many pallets, so many giant maps, and so little time when 2 gens get done between the 1st and 2nd chases that it becomes almost impossible to kill 2-4 people.
How long are these chases?
-
@NullSp3c said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1029300#Comment_1029300
The problem is that by the time most of the pallets are broken, the game ended.
It's correct that i'm making progress, but it's correct that the game will end very soon.
It's very rare in my games that someone leaves the gen and then i chase that person and someone comes to that gen when i get away to try and hit a person. I was also using ruin on the games that i started thinking about this. It's a hex perk and is easily taken out of the game.
Like I said though, dont chase 1 person who is tossing the pallets. They will chain them together and end up getting use out of pallets all across the map. Get 1, then rotate to someone else. This will create dead zones. You dont need the entire map to be a dead zone.
-
@NullSp3c said:
But then, survivors can run from loop to loop and constantly drop pallets and theres nothing that a killer can do to stop it.
Gens go so fast that survivors simply run away in a straight line, drop pallets, and go from loop to loop without caring at all about looping, mindgaming, etc.
This to me seems a big problem and when you play as killer it feels so bad that a single survivor can do this for an entire game.
Yes, I pressure gens, and Yes i do give up on chases to go and pressure people. But this makes winning as 70% of the killers pretty much impossible. I also choose which pallets to break (the safe/god ones). Even with all this in mind, there is no way that a killer cna protect 5 gens from 4 survivors. They will escape, or they mess up by being too greedy or too altruistic. They don't even need to be greedy in chases because all they need to do is run and drop pallets.
Playing as a survivor this is what i've been doing lately and oh man if it doesn't simple my games A LOT. Just press Shift and your good to go.
Any survivor can do what he wants for as long as there is no early game tool that killers can use besides playing hillbilly, nurse (pls give her QoL changes), spirit and maybe some stealthy killers like ghostface. Even those really struggle to win because of the issue that i mentioned.
I can't be the only one seeing this.
If theyre constantly dropping pallets, your making progress. You dont have to chase 1 person the entire game as they deplete the map's pallets themselves, but if you can chase someone and manage to get either a hit or a pallet within 10-15 seconds... thats all you need. Turn and pressure a gen after that. Eventually survivors will find all the pallets around those gens have already been broken and they'll be taking hits in dead zones. New ruin is actually helpful for this playstyle since your constantly chasing survivors off of gens before they can make any REAL progress, and the gen regresses back to nothing by the time they get back. Did this with Legion and Myers last night to really great success.

Had that happen afew weeks ago where the Claudette was OBVIOUSLY a baby. Got to the point where I'd pass by her while chasing her teammates and give her a nod instead of turning and downing her. Let her live cuz I don't wanna stomp on a rank 20 and chase em out of the game.
The scorecard at the end pops up... They were rank 5. APPARENTLY alot of killers thought the same thing and she ranked up alot because of pity. We all got a good laugh out of it.

True, again I figure the devs can balance and determine what the actual affects happen to be, my main focus is on the interactions themselves. I think the option to be more brutal or gruesome with killers would add more flavor to the game, as it makes sense. They're killers after all, not teddy bears xD
Maybe add some of your "gruesome" effects to already existing perks. What if we could hear the creaking of bones when iron grasp is used, or sloppy butcher was visually more than just more blood puddles, but left the survivor looking different than just a normal injury.

OoO works based off TR as well in that it only works outside the TR.
-
As far as effects go... Your first example is more or less the perks iron grasp in that it gives you more time to get to a hook. Your 2nd example is more or less infectious fright, only whereas infectious fright gives you information when you can act on it, YOUR perk only gives information when your hands are already full.

There is a game I just had on Lery's. I don't usually run Discordance but I ran it this time. I went to a gen highlighted by it and ran two people off a gen, injuring one. While chasing the other, we ran by another gen that was about 40% done. I chased this Jane off of it and got in a chase with her. It wasn't a very long chase, she used a couple safe pallets. The massive frame rate drop killers get when Bloodlust kicks in really cucked me once but I got her relatively quick. By the time I had her hooked, three gens popped LOL.
For all the "pressure" I'd put on earlier in the match, all that happened is the injured survivor healed and got back on their gen. The second survivor I chased off the first gen just hopped on the other one I'd chased Jane off of. And this third, a Bill IIRC, just stayed on his gen the whole time. I guess I could have slugged the Jane, but even by the time I'd made it to another gen, the same three would have popped. And then all I'd have is a downed survivor probably being picked up, and one or two survivors plowing through the two gens left to do. I didn't check if there were SWF, but I wouldn't doubt it.
As one of the worst characters in the game balance wise, exactly what am I supposed to do here as Bubba? I can't get around the map quick enough to apply any real pressure. Without open spaces, my power is worthless which makes me a basic M1 killer. The Jane did a good job of using all the vaults she found and pallets so there was no chance to chainsaw. The other survivors did not totem hunt, they did nothing but gen jockey. This is the type of match where my skill is absolutely irrelevant, I am at the mercy of the survivors. They have to play bad for me to have a chance. They have to be walking around looking for totems to cleanse, looking for chests to search, crouching in a corner trying to make a flash light or pallet save, etc. They have to not be playing optimally for me to stand a chance in this match. If they stick to knocking out all the gens, which they did, there is simply no time for me to get the hooks needed to "win". I got two real chases in this match and the gens were popped. Two. And this isn't even the worst of the maps, there are maps with way worse in terms of safe pallets, t-walls, jungle gyms, etc.
But hey, letting the first two gens go will fix this issue, it's not the maps themselves that suck. All that letting two gens go will do for you on these maps is leave you with only three gens needed for survivors to escape, which gives you even less time to work through all of the pallets and exhaustion perks you have to work through to get a hook. The only solution is to play like a jerk, tunnel and slug and three gen when applicable. Can't wait for all of these to be tweaked as well since hey, they're pretty frustrating for survivors and that's the only experience we care about lol
I'd recommend PWYF and maybe nemesis. That extra speed can help your chainsaw get more value so your ending chases alot faster. Indoor maps like Lerys, you can often get alot closer to gens than normal due to LOS blockers.

This is a good question, but I'm actually not sure about that. All of these perks existed before the EGC was created, so their function and wording was determined back when there was no difference. Nowadays, thanks to the EGC, there is actually a difference between the two.
Rancor was limited so it wouldnt give away the last person's position. After you close the hatch, the last person still has a chance to open a gate. If rancor gave that persons position away like it does when the last gen pops... they wouldnt have a chance.

Plague? You're kidding, right? Few people cleanse against her. They'll power through a gen and move on, broken or not. I used it a few times yesterday on my Plague, and it was either ignored, or broken in 30 seconds. Plague doesn't have the mobility to make use of it.
Freddy, though, does. I haven't leveled mine enough to get a solid build, but combined with Surveillance, he can force people off gens pretty easily for Ruin to take hold.
From my games as Plague, people cleanse when they start gettin smacked down too fast. Nemesis+PWYF makes her pretty dangerous at ending chases even without her corrupt purge really fast.
