Didn’t you generalize too by saying killers should be fine “if they just apply pressure”? Just saying...
Also even the high mobility killers like Billy can’t pressure all survivors at once at least not without slugging.
Then why not slug when its tactically correct to do so? Get damage in whenever you can, rather than stopping everything as soon as a survivor hits the ground.

While I cant stand corn maps personally, I can understand how simply deleting all the corn would just make rotten fields a giant dead zone. No one likes facing "Blendettes", and corn maps just give that blending treatment to every survivor at all times. You dont really have to hide behind anything in particular, just crouch.

Oh, I personally agree with that. I generally either just say gg or nothing unless someone else starts talking, and then I don't mean trash talk but if someone starts asking about someone's build or something funny that happened in the match.
Had a match where I got a 3k, and the guy who escaped started in on me. I just spent the entire time explaining how the devs claimed a 2k is a tie, and I thought I was gonna tie until I got the 3k so I win instead, yay. He pointed out he got more points thn me, so I just said "We BOTH win, YAY US!!! WE'RE WINNERS!!!"

Ive tried using new ruin on afew killers and have actually gotten decent results, with Legion being one of them. Ultimately, I dont think Legion is in a HORRIBLE position, but I do think he could use afew tweeks here and there. I dont understand for example why he cant see the auras of gens after you stab someone in FF, nor why his power meter goes down after hitting someone with his normal basic attack. He is the only killer in the game who loses his power by using his basic attack.
As far as the ruin change being implemented to boost Legion specifically... I dont think that was their plan, it just synergizes well with him.

Impossibile to get Jason inside DbD for now. It's already been licensed for Friday The 13th official game. Btw, i think that Behavior should keep the trend to create original characters like Oni instead of collecting official killers. The licensed one are the most boring than the original ones in my opinion.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/438740/Friday_the_13th_The_Game/
Myers is actually one of the most popular killers in the game, both to play as and against. Ghostface's popularity to play as has also skyrocketed. Not gonna claim that they dont have fun original killers from time to time, but theyve done pretty well at fitting licensed ones in.

I hope that by "extremely offensive" you don't mean stuff that's potentially bannable. Because if that's the case you're quite simply getting successfully baited.
Totally agree there's plenty of people that can dish it out but can't take it at all though.
Feel like killing them with kindness works better. Someone like this is likely to burst a blood vessel if you reply back "GG, hope everyone had a fun game"

There should be an indicator somewhere on the screen that let's survivors know how many totems remain on the map. The biggest issue I have especially as solo survivor is you don't know how many totems have been cleansed. Noed is suppose to punish survivors for not doing the second objective but how are survivors suppose to know if the objective has already been done? I'm not going to search around the entire map looking for a totem that might not even be there.
Feel like an audio cue should play when a totem gets destroyed. That would allow observant survivors to keep track of how many remain.

Also props to you for not simply bashing a survivor main and attempting to prove a point.
I'll call a BS mechanic out when I see it, which is why I was one of the people who called out old prayerbeads due to all the gengrabs out of nowhere it caused. Mechanics like that shouldnt have to require a perk to stand a chance against. In the case of NOED however, theres already ingame counters. I try to identify as much about a killer as possible so I can deduct what they DONT have. As a killer main who's very aware of all the killer perks and addons, might be abit easier for me though. I suspect survivor mains are often times less aware of all that. If I can count your 4 perks, I know not to worry about spirit fury for example, or nemesis.

While this is good advice (that I already follow), I was simply pointing out a consistency issue that should at least be addressed by the game devs. I don’t think forcing either killers or survivors to accommodate in skill what the game lacks in consistency isn’t a good solution to the problem.
As far as consistency goes, it actually follows it well. Huntress's Lullaby for example only tells you its active once you get your first skillcheck, since it directly affects skillchecks and the consequences of missing one. Devour hope also doesnt tell the survivors that it has 3 stacks until someone gets 1 shot.

You shouldn’t have to expect a perk to be used despite how often it is used. Everyone has the exposed status effect before the first person is struck, being notified after ######### hits the fan isn’t a good way to have this perk setup. You get notified when the killer has ruin (even though its obvious when you work on a gen/get off a gen now), you get notified when Myers hits tier 3 that you have exposed, why does NOED get a pass? It’s an inconsistent feature of this perk that gives it a bigger buff than necessary. Giving survivors this notification will balance it out, killers get to have their one-hit freebie perk and survivors know to go hunting for NOED.
Expecting someone has it until proven otherwise is just a good rule to follow in general. Thats why so many killers will leave someone slugged after an unhook (they expect DS) or they'll wait a moment before swinging (they expect dead hard). Unless you can correctly identify all 4 killer perks, play as if the killer has NOED and get a pleasant surprise when you find out they dont. Most killer perks can be easy to identify based off what you can see during the match.

Yeah that’s not how I’m seeing it used in game and on this forum. They say gen rushing and refer to it as toxic....when survivors do gens too fast. I know it’s a mechanics thing also but that is not usually how the term gen rush is used.
Ive used it before, but I'll post it again...
Bringing abunch of supped up toolboxes like this is generally what I think of when I think "Gen rushing".

I agree. This needs to be a thing, stand up and show your teammates that put forth this behavior that its not cute and its not okay. Its disgusting, and its never that serious to where you have to resort to such foul practices and language.
Personally, the way I see it... You can flashlight blind, clicky clicky around and T bag at every pallet...but when the match is over and that endgame chat pops up, I still just say GG. I don't mind chatting Abit, but nothing toxic.

So you're not playing Killer because of one bad game? Its normal to get salty survivors- toxicity is in every game. What separates ######### like that guy from people like us is that we know its a game, and the purpose is to have fun. If you're being harassed to that extent, then you should ban them from your YouTube/blacklist them or something. Same goes for PSN.
You shouldn't let one bad game affect how you enjoy yourself, nor should you let people like him dictate how you play.
I feel like its more along the lines of 1 game having such lasting effects, imagine how much damage 1 night full of games would bring. Personally, I have no youtube channel to cause trouble on, and I keep my steam profile set to private so people cant be creepers. Unfortunately though, many people on our community will actively defend calling people the most vile of things by saying "well, they must have camped and camping isnt fun", even when camping isnt even mentioned. If you get told to go drink bleach, well surely its your fault for how you mustve been playing.
I read through some of the comments on a Dead by daylight facebook page for a post of someone sharing screenshots of their harassment, and saw lots of comments backing up the harasser because SURELY the OP mustve been doing X,Y, and Z. I feel like if we as a community will stand up to this stuff instead of excuse it...it'll help drasticly.
No one deserves this. Make your voice heard by showing them you are NOT on THEIR side when it comes to such abuse. Stand up for your fellow community members.

Its a bug. Doesnt happen to EVERY survivor, but enough to be annoying. Hopefully itll get fixed sooner rather than later.

Different type of nerves. As a killer, you can get nervous of looking like a fool and being looked down upon by the people who just stomped you.

Just play as best you can and ignore the haters. People will flame ya whether you do really well or badly, that part doesnt really matter. If you do well, your a tryhard and if you do badly, your a baby killer who was carried by whatever perk they deem OP. Just try your best and dont worry about their opinion.

Theres more :
Survivors :
Just don't tunnel
Just dont commit to chases
Just don't overguard generators
Just don't miss swings
Just don't get pallet stunned
Just don't get head on stunned
Killers have :
Just don't get hit
Just don't gen rush (noed)
Just don't self care in a corner
Just do gens
Just heal
Just don't waste pallets
The lists go on
Well in all fairness... selfcaring in a corner IS a preventable dumb thing. If your gonna selfcare, at least do it near some sort of protection as opposed to a giant deadzone like the edge of the map. Whenever my nurse's calling picks that up when I'm playing Mikey or Huntress (the 2 killers I run Nurses calling on often), I know its just gonna result in an easy down.

I'll stop you right there bukko. Is that an actually balanced match rank wise you have there? Tell me your ways on the dark Web to get such a thing
Its hit or miss. Sometimes I get pretty balanced matches rank wise, sometimes not. Alot of times when I get a random yellow or something in my lobby, I just chalk it up to SWFs, although I know thats not always the case. Unfortunately I dont typically screenshot too many games unless theres a salty endgame chat involved. Heres one such example of new ruin working well on Myers for example on Wretched shop.

Correct. Hopefully the maps will get good and we will be able to get rid of bloodlust them.
But you can vault a safe pallet back and forth until he kicks it, like, don't actually loop, just vault.
Unless they changed it, Doc loses bloodlust when he uses his shock therapy, just like most killers lose it once they use their power.

People who want to play with friends are not gonna waste their time in these que’s, and likely just flat out not play the game. And with the current state of matchmaking, this would significantly worsen the que’s altogether.
Not to say I can’t see where you’re coming from; some players will just shrug it off and play the game but without SWF, matchmaking would take significantly longer than what it is NOW. I often don’t take the game super seriously when playing it, and so does my group when we play together.
Acknowledging weakness and opinions: I regularly use the function; so you can interpret my opinions based off of my relevant experience provided to the topic.
But so many others use this feature; and playing with friends can make the game so much more enjoyable, and KYF (while fun sometimes) just doesn’t feel as good as going in blind and getting BP, in KYF I never feel like I’m productive, per se. Maybe for making edited screenshots, but that’s as far as I draw the line.
EDIT: Grammar is a drag to write with. Yuck.
Atm, matchmaking wait time comes down to there being 2 lines...1 for killer and 1 for survivor. The fact that I'm getting instant lobbies as killer but having to wait awhile as survivor implies that the survivor line is bigger than the X4 size it needs to be for the game to function. If that line got shorter, I dont think that would WORSEN queue times. I dont think SWFs are as much of a problem as some people on here, but I'm just failing to see your logic here.
It would be similar to waiting in line for a roller coaster, just to find out that the rollar coaster is setup so groups of people cant sit together. If people leave the line because they cant imagine riding the rollar coaster without sitting next to their friend... That's only going to make things faster and smoother for those remaining.
-
Ive actually been able to do alright while playin as Myers lately, who has the worst opening of any killer. New ruin has also been pretty nice on afew killers that I've tried it with.
This game on rotten fields for example, I was able to injure 2 and down a 3rd before the survivors could finish a gen, because I could tell that they kept trying to finish it when they assumed I was running after whoever got hit last. I am NOT a good Huntress by any means, but I was able to do work, lol.
-
@Watery said:
The game is actually healthier with SWF.
People would just dodge lobbies until they’d play together.
With how long the queue times can be, I have a hard time believing someone who just spent 15 minutes trying to get a lobby would back out and go back in over and over again.

just wondering how long are your match times usually with this method though?
I didnt time em, but they actually werent abnormally fast TBH. Like I said, people would show up and waste time. Often times, I would do a little dance and twirl infront of the hook with my revved chainsaw because I might as well entertain my audience, lol. Corrupt intervention would prevent people from getting too much gen progress before my first down, and after that...theyd get sidetracked with going for the save. This was actually the reason why I used insidious, even though I wasnt hiding. Hiding my TR would make people have to come closer to see what was going on, rather than put 2 and 2 together when the TR wasnt moving.

so you had a match full of idiots, id call it a luckymatch but every match seems to have atleast 1-2 idiots lmao. I don't see it as something to get so upset over though its all in good fun, the only reason t-bagging should get someone mad is if you're generally struggling to kill someone, and they're taunting you. in which case that killer needs to get their skill up at thinking ahead of survivors, by refusing to play normally and get their skill up they're actually just hurting themselves too. face camping doesn't develop skill as a killer, maybe fore survivors unhooking, and not for nothing ive unhooked MANY people infront of bubba with my friends. well not literally infront, but it depends on the person playing thekiller, they turn away or focus someone so easily its laughable.
Except I did this for a weekend after the ruin change, not just one game, and had pretty reliable results. I was running insidious, NOED, blood warden and corrupt intervention and getting 3-4ks from just facecamping. 2ks were the lowest it ever got. Never did I try to hide what I was doing. I wasnt taking people to the basement and hiding in the corner, but rather hooking them out in the open and presenting myself for all to see. Id nod at people who showed up to make it a point of saying "i see you" so theyd get that I was staying put to camp and not because I didnt have other targets to chase.
-
For me, it oftentimes comes down to the tools used. The devs nerfed Freddys addons because it was deemed unfair that a slowdown could build up so much when survivors are injured (procing thana), hooked multiple times (proccing dying light) and asleep (proccing Freddy's addons). Its completely ok though for the opposite to occur with things stacking to speed things up, which can occur at the very start of the game as opposed to gradually and after being earned.

and thats what i mean as they're dumb as bricks, if the situation deems the killer too smart why would i waste that time, myself personally wouldn't bother if it seems impossible with 2 people, but ill still give it a go. a lot of times this is bad xp for a killer and survivors so i don't understand what joy you get out of just standing there. thats boring as s***
Thats what I was saying originally, waiting around for an impossible save is just wasting time, BT or not. Its important to recognize whats happening and react accordingly. In the game I used an an example, the first survivor I caught even had kindred, so his entire team could see he was being camped immediately.

ill try to lure you away while one of my friends gets him then, what can I say, i usually don't play survivor alone its kinda garbage when most survivors are dumb as bricks. ill even let u chainsaw me so my friend gets the unhook. ur a garbage killer and deserve to be banned tbh. facecamping is for little girls. no wonder people don't play killer, when they get upset they start making 5 IQ plays
When Bubba has a chainsaw raised, no one is getting the save and your just wasting valuable time. I did it as abit of a test to see just how effective it can be. I wouldnt even hide what I was doing, and hook people in the open while facecamping with a raised chainsaw. I ended up seeing games like this one, where the survivors were too busy looking for an opening that obviously wasnt there to try to get an impossible save instead of pumping out gens. Only 1 gen got done.

2 mins on hook until death for 3 survivors to finish 5 gens and find and cleanse 5 totems.
It all depends on how quickly that survivor went down. Often the survivors can get the gens done but at the expense of totems before the killer comes to camp another victim.
You also have the time period before the survivor got on the hook. Its not like they spawned on it.

Btw @Bunnie you still did not answer the question how the perk should actually work. And especially, what happens without the perk. As is, it would mean every survivor is invincible without the perk, once a survivor is down. Which would mean, the killer will never reach a hook as they can body block infinitely. Make a solid suggestion or be revealed as troll.
The killer would never be able to pick a survivor up due to teammates immediately healing him.

Are you suggesting that without a perk, a survivor would just pop back up from the dying state if one of his teammates went down?

Completing the challenges later on won't help in completing the rift.
That's nice you were able to complete your rift.
I meant maybe a month later, not after the rift is over. You can go back and do challenges from the first level, even after the 4th one has dropped. Theres only 3 challenges on level one that need Doc, Spirit or Jane, so if you skip those for now and do em later...you still have plenty of time to farm the shards.
-
@HellCatJane said:

And for those that *want* to complete all the challenges (which helps in completing the rift, and even doing all challenges, as i recall, wont even get you fully there. etc)... they will have to either BUY or save up... and good luck saving up for all those shards. It's quite a lot.
You can always go back and complete those challenges later. I know I actually had 12 unfinished challenges for the last rift and still managed to complete the rift.
-

Pretty much this. The devs had the lack of sense, and the balls to tell killers "just let the first 2 gens go"...killers responded by saying "Instead, I'll just tunnel and camp the survivors because they are overly altruistic and will go for the save even if they know the killer is camping, and then turn around and complain about it like it's anyone fault but their own".
Its kinda messed up how effective facecamping can be because survivors often times will INSIST on looking for an opening for a save, even when there obviously isnt one. You could hold a revved chainsaw over the hook and nod at each survivor who shows up, and they'll still stick around for WAY too long.
The survivors on this game did a single gen... They were really good sports though, which is why I gave one guy a thumbs up.
-
Why didnt Matt bring someone with him that was actually decent at the game instead of just getting embarrassed at the korean twitch event when he tried playing killer? While its nice that instablinds got nerfed after that... I've seen the guy play. Even in a perfectly balanced game, he was setting himself up.
