How do you know if I'm making good points if you admit to not reading half my posts?

Depends on how they do it.
TF2 and CSGO did it just fine. You got free items/hats and premium membership.
Secret World did it very poorly. By mass discounting lifetime memberships to trick everyone into buying them. Then launching Secret World Legends where your grandmaster didn't transfer, tons of content cut, and all sorts of stuff.
Lord of the Rings Online did it perfectly fine as well. With many staying after it went f2P.
My point is, DO NOT pull a Funcom. Even if it is just giving us like $10 of store credit like Nintendo did when their web browser and DVD playback (Japan only) for the Wii went free. Nintendo just refunded you the Wii points.
There would have to be HEAVY rewards, like SUBSTANTIAL rewards for original owners; and not just a damn charm, either. It would have to be a plethora of rewards.
Also, Funcom redeemed themselves. They released Conan Exiles, which is superb.

And for those that *want* to complete all the challenges (which helps in completing the rift, and even doing all challenges, as i recall, wont even get you fully there. etc)... they will have to either BUY or save up... and good luck saving up for all those shards. It's quite a lot.
The challenges are optional, just like buying the DLC they are related to.
I don't understand what you're complaint is. If you want to do the challenges, buy the DLC. Through shards, cells or cash. If you don't want to buy the DLC, don't do the challenges. o.O

It didn't start out as insults, I said y'all weren't reading what I said. I was called baby, potato and other insults that devs allow (double standard). You were one of them, so I no longer respect you or your opinion and I'm not "discussing" anything with you anymore. You hold no validity, or have any creditability imo. I owe you no counter, because you never contribute constructively to the discussion.
So sure kid, whatever you want to believe.
That is true, you started with the insults on your second reply. You got me there.
In any case, are you going to have a discussion and counter my points? Or are you simply going to dismiss my points and continue to insult me because (and this is what I believe) you can't counter them? If the latter is true, by all means, keep on keeping on man. All good! 🌈

Mmmmm no you don't. I remember you. You completely ignore what I said, tried to turn the "discussion" into something entirely different. You also come across as condescending and you talk down to people. Personally, I find that insulting in itself. This is why I don't consider any input you contribute. A real discussion involves reading and considering someone's opinion, something you clearly don't do too everyone.
I remember you! I just realized. You're the one who made a thread complaining about campers, literally insulted everyone in it, and then disappeared for a while. Good to see you back, man.
Seriously though, still waiting for a counter that isn't "ok kid". Make with it, man! :) I just want a discussion with you :)

Anytime I see it as Killer I just assume that player is toxic, and then ensure the entity has their way with them.
That is also why I don't run it, because I am not a toxic survivor - much.
How can a perk in the game be toxic, though?

I use it sometimes. I don't teabag or anything and I only play solo, but beleive it or not, most killers are actually less inclined to chase you if you're using OoO. So I use it when I need to get a generator daily/challenge done.

No.
I will say, if you are chased and caught within like 10-20 seconds because you couldn't use a pallet correctly, I wouldn't call you "good", but just being chased or slugged doesn't make you bad (which is another reason the MMR won't work, btw).

Power role: a single being, individually more capable
Team role: individually weaker than the power role, use numbers to their advantage
Dbd doesn't deviate from this in the slightest, without other survivors a single survivor will die on first hook and won't be able to avoid hooks via flashlight or sabo. Without other survivors a single survivor will constantly be under pressure and incapable of doing objectives towards their goal. Am I wrong?
I'm glad we agree on what the power role is.
And yes, you are right.
That's how it should be.

So you don't understand the idea of what makes it Asymmetrical. So the killer is stronger than a survivor on their own. When the survivors work together they are supposed to have an equivalent strength to the killer. That is where the idea of being good or bad on either side is what makes you win. Good survivors will beat bad killers. Bad survivors will die to good killers. The power role OVERALL is whoever is better. NOT default the killer.
"This is a multiplayer vs game. The power role is to whichever side is better."
That's what you said, and that statement is incorrect. In an asymmetrical game, the power role is designated by the game and lore, not dictated by who wins. You can be the power role and STILL lose; but the power role IS the single powerful entity, and not the group of 4. Period.
And no. I completely understand it. The issue with your flawed rhetoric is the game isn't balanced like it should be. As a killer you can play perfectly and make no fundamental mistakes, while the survivors in the same game can make infinite mistakes and still recover from them. The survivors have time on their side. The killer has it working against them.
The fact that there are resources in the game that can make one lone survivor be able to bully a killer on their own is completely ludicrous. That's the part you're choosing to ignore. There should never be a situation where a single survivor is more powerful than the power role; and yet, there is.
TL;DR - the power role has nothing to do with who is better. Who WINS is who is better. The power role is the designated position of the single powerful entity in game. The survivors are not a *single entity*. They are a team of 4.

Not to mention this system does nothing for SWF. I liked how they claimed they wanted the new system to judge 'fairly,' yet ignore SWF..
BHVR has never been about "fair".
For example, this is why they nerfed ruin:
https://clips.twitch.tv/PiercingAwkwardWaffleTToursI mean, it's not for sure...but remember when instablinds were a thing and then Mcote got bullied in that game as Hag by instablinds? Like 2-3 weeks later, instablinds were nerfed.

"Plan Ahead" would be OP. Hex perks would have be immune from it. You can't have a perk that negates a killers perk completely. It should only counter it, not render it non existent.
"Intel" - No. Survivors already have advantages at windows. This is too much. In order for this to be balanced, it would have to be like the old OoO days, where regardless if more than one person had it, only one person could actually use it.
Field Medic is actually okay.
Other than that, he sounds like a Hispanic version of Bill.
-
I personally see no reason to hide this alleged skill rating. It makes no sense to hide it. The only reason to hide it would be because there's nothing to show; aka it doesn't exist.
I said it in another thread, but I'll say it here. We all saw the leaked internal 3.5.0 patch notes weeks ago. We know now their plan was to remove ranks at some point. I actually fully believe if those patch notes hadn't leaked, that's what would have happened in the 3.5.0 patch. I believe that it was because of the backlash and calls of foul play from the community that made them not do it.
Instead what I think is happening is, they needed time to come up with a shoddy explanation for the removal of ranks. I don't actually think they'll be doing this MMR thing. I don't actually believe this "batch matchmaking" crap. I think they are simply going to group everyone together by region, and open up the matchmaking to all ranks, because *they don't know how to fix it*.
If I'm wrong, and I hope I am, good. But we'll see; and we'll know as soon as this supposed MMR is implemented if it's BS or not.

Agreed here. You will get called a camper/tunneller for anything and everything under the stars.
I get called a tunneller even AFTER I obviously ignore and run PAST the unhooked survivor the the rescuer. It's best to just ignore these salty survivors, or add insult to injury by flirting.
If someone is unhooked *within my terror radius*, I go after the unhooked person to either down them again or hit their borrowed time (it's a free hit either way), and then go after the unhooker. The idea is to try and cuck the cocky unhooker of their benevolence points.
-
Basically, survivor logic.
Here's a tip: Even if you were camping, stop caring. Camping and tunneling are acceptable and legitimate strategies. Play by your own rules. Don't play by the invisible Killer Rulebook that was written by survivor mains. If you want to meme, play to meme. If you want to have fun, play for fun. If you want to win, kick the living ######### out of them, by any means necessary. Whether that be camping or tunnelling, or whatever you want. Turn off in game chat, ignore their foul whining. Just play for you.
Don't worry about their fun, cause I can assure you they wipe their ass with your fun. Focus on your own fun. It's not your responsibility to worry about them having fun.

Time is very important for survivors in chases. I don't get why you think it doesn't. Just look at how much of a difference the 15% vault speed can make.
Charging the chainsaw faster can absolutely make a big difference in loops, especially if you know how to curve.
Even half of a second could be game changing in certain situations, for both sides.
During chases, sir; but their entire objective doesn't hang on time. They can take as long as they need and have all the tools to do it.

Maybe. What's it to you? in any case, when you resort to literally manufacturing statements I not only didn't make, but didn't even imply (implication being key, here), you forfeit. They are right. You do tend to do that a lot.

I made my point more than clear. Time will tell if my feeling was right or if im just really bad.
Literally never said that. I agree to disagree with plenty of people. I will say, and continue to say, that only unskilled survivors will say Billy is overpowered.
If you can't handle being told you're wrong, I really don't know what to tell ya. You said he needs "cooldowns like nurse", and he already has cooldowns like nurse. Yes seconds count in dbd. Literally no one agrees with you that Billy's add ons are fine.
Seconds count, and if you're in the middle of a loop, that second means nothing. If you're out in the open, you were screwed whether the Billy had charge addons or not.
Seconds matter more to the killer than anything. Survivor games aren't time sensitive. Killers are.

Well whatever people call insta saw now. The two best charge addons of Billy stacked. I'm not going to argue over definitions now though, there's no reason to do that.
They don't need to be removed. What people "call" instasaw is not instasaw. It shortens the charge time to 1.5 seconds, and is still easily dodged. Unless you're right in front of the Hillbilly, literally touching them, then you were screwed whether he had those addons or not.
This is just a case of players not wanting to adapt. These are the same people who told killers to adapt when ruin was nerfed.

A chainsaw charge can last forever and let you run around the map several times, if wanted. U still dont see the difference to 1 blink?
It can last forever, and has a huge tell. You have to be really bad, or really out of position to get caught by a cross map chainsaw. Both of those situations are your fault as a survivor. Again, learn to play, hone your skills, get better.

Yes cause it is not enough in comparison to the other killers. Devs seem to have a plan regarding a killer's power. Time will tell if im just ignorant or if i have a point.
Really? Nurse has 2.5 seconds (or something like that) per blink. Billy has 2.5 seconds of charge, and 3 seconds of cooldown. 5.5 seconds in total of nothing in order to use their power. I don't see how that "isn't enough".
You really just need to get better at survivor and learn to outplay it if this isn't enough for you.

By flick you mean curving? Because I feel like that's still possible even without the charge addons. I just feel like those at the very least can be a bit too good. Insta saw gives survivors very little time to react to his chainsaw, so I would say they could get a bit of a nerf. His basekit should stay the way it is now, though.
Instasaw doesn't exist anymore. It hasn't for over a year since Tinkerer was reworked.

A killers power is considered to be a power.
They have to wait/perform for it. Hillbilly can run around and spam his power. Even in his base kit.
"He can run around and spam his power"
HE HAS A CHARGE TIME OF 2.5 SECONDS AND A 3 SECOND COOLDOWN.

I tend to bait forced m1s, or simply not take the hit and force down the pallet in the loop by getting bloodlust or revving and curving and at less safe pallets I'll take m1s if it is a faster option.
That's called a mind game, and that is an equal ground of skill between survivor and killer. If the survivor goes down in that instance, they got out played and deserved it.

But thats the same argument here. How many posts in the past week about how the game is ruined due to the Ruin change? Or how people are quitting the game because of it?
No decent killer was mad because ruin got changed. They were mad because it was changed at the wrong time. Maps needed to be balanced before ruin was changed. And people are quitting. This is why there's not a ton of red rank killers.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1047571#Comment_1047571
And yet if you look at reddit for example its all rank 10s complaining non-stop about how hard the game is, how survivor biased the devs are and how all the killers need mega buffs.
They sound a lot like the people here actually. I’ve seen the same arguments made too lol
That's because they all relied on ruin. Most people in those ranks needed ruin. That's why the meme was created that BHVR only cares about new survivor fun. Not new players.
Combine that with the matchmaking putting them up against red rank players constantly, and it all makes sense why they complain; and the devs are survivor biased. Everything changed in the patch was done for the specific purpose of "survivor fun".
-
I'm still curious how you guys are defining "toxic"
-
@Infinity_Bored said:
He needs a power gauge/recharge just like nurse.
Right now there is basically no punishment for failing a chainsaw attempt.
A recharge system would balance his power and mobility.
He has cooldowns and recharges.
Hillbilly's chainsaw takes 2.5 seconds to charge without addons. He has a cooldown after his chainsaw of 3 seconds after missing a chainsaw. During that cooldown, he moves slower, and can't do anything but move (again, slower). He can't hit, chainsaw, pick up or destruct. He can only move (again x2, slower than his base speed). While Billy is backreving, which is usually when he's trying to chainsaw you at a loop, he loses 1m/s of movement speed, making him stupid easy to loop/force him to M1.

Any decent killer player will 4k at ranks 12-20.
This.
Hell, if you're a rank 12-20 killer and you're facing rank 12-20 survivors, you don't even have to be decent. Using those ranks as a point of reference is silly. It's telling, though. Shows where their point of view is coming from. No disrespect of course. It's okay to be low rank.
