I believe the cooldown is monthly.
Monthly is dumb. With how often dc due to servers happen

But, money.
We'll have to see.
Anecdotally, not counting me, I know 6 people who haven't bought anything since GF. 4 who have stopped playing all together.
Of those 4 all of them have trashed the game to new players and even 1 who still plays says to not start.
Then with the bs they pulled of oni and ash with massive nerfs after everyone bought them I can't imagine too much good will.
For me spirit was my last dlc and I've uninstalled because I can't play the game as it got progressively worse on my laptop, no other games did, and since moving I'll be green ping but the game rubber bands so badly that I can't even walk.
-
Hi back. Had a lot of fun work stuff over the corona virus.
So at everyone saying this is about getting rid of dc penalties:
No, I never claimed that. Keep them. When my net would dc I would just unplug my router for two hours and play something else. So, the ban wouldn't matter to me
The point was to tell people to stop telling others to just spend money to fix this games issues.
When I was living off of a 5Mps mobile hot spot in 2013(because I lived in a house no one would service. It was a dead zone in their split area.) I could play cs fine until I ran out of data. Believe it or not the devs can up the network for the servers. But I'll admit that only does so much.
As for the price of the internet. That was no exaggeration. My old city, before moving to China, made contracts with internet providers which later became 2 due to buy outs. They then split the areas on what you could get where.
When I lived alone and had my own apartment I was paying the 250 for 100mbs. The first 6 months were 70 and then the promo expired and they refused to add it back. They were also bought out by another company by this time. The reason was because it was like 180 for the net then a bunch of tacked on fees for maintenance and other bs fees. My electric provider did the same.
When I moved after losing my job I was paying 80 with no promo for 4Mps. My city was considered a major city in the area. It was the suburbs for a major city in the state. Many lived there and when it was a small city in the 90s tons of deals were made that screwed that town over and still do this day. They actually had passed a bill preventing T lines because they were so much better than our normal isps in every way. But I don't want to get into the corruption of my old city.
I now live in China and my apartment dictates my internet. So, I can't upgrade at all. It's also poop due to the CV and everyone being home. My TV has issues loading ads on start up, it's funny. But I'm just playing SP games right now.
If people dc, like I said, call them out but don't tell them to drop money they might not have for a game. Or a upgrade that isn't possible. Especially because that's a argument a lot of people seem to double down on once someone has explained their woes.
Feel free to gloat about your rig or net. What have you. I just don't like the toxicity of "stop being poor and spend money"

They can, but they haven't. They've said repeatedly that they don't want to, since that would just be another system that can break, and they're already having trouble with the current crop of bugs. Feel free to find another game to play if you don't feel this is fair.
My issue isn't fair v not fair.
It's the toxicity of the community.
All of a sudden everyone is expected to drop tons of money on a cheap game they bought so they don't crash. Especially in cases where it isn't even an option at all.
The fact this wasn't even released with bug fixes is alarming.
-
@Huntar said:
It's not poor shaming. You simply need to be able to consistently connect to avoid ruining the experience for other players. If you can't do that, you should find another game to play. It's not fair to everyone else in the match for you to DC and leave them in the lurch.
They can implement a bot and return system to prevent that from being a issue
And yes, it is poor shaming.

The flip side is also true. All these people suddenly popping up with saying that the game is crashing constantly even though they have proper hardware but zero evidence to prove that to be true have no basis or right to have anybody assume that they're telling the truth. The fact that this is apparently such a huge issue yet magically has no evidence reeks of bullcrap. If you want people to believe something that's gonna be difficult to believe, you should expect to have to provide evidence. You're absolutely right that you should have expected this kind of treatment. Just like you should expect skepticism from your boss if you said you got hit by a car and can't come to work that day cause you're too injured to walk, and then just show up the next day looking perfectly fine. Expect to need evidence when the case seems unlikely.
Because crashes are random, recording play sessions eats up your hdd useage, cpu, and ram lagging the game.
Whenmy laptop can play monster Hunter world but lags with dbd there's a issue. Taking away extra resources and filling up hdd space then having to sift through hours of footage for bugs and crashes is pretty unreasonable.

That, on wonderland, would work. But I have reported hackers, exploiters, etc... and I still see them in the game. But thanks for your reply, I agree on some things, not so much on others, if I want to play is because I don't want to do chores. Also, people can report you for going AFK so I don't understand half of the excuses, but again I don't totally agree but thanks.
Oh yeah going afk is in the report screen isn't it?

Lol dude those cases are so extreme. And even if they did happen, just go AFK maybe? Why do you have to DC?
And other people will be punished for DCing now, so you should see less DCs overall. Meaning your main reason for DCing is being addressed with these penalties.
Because if you work it and you need to remote in you need all your resources and bandwidth.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
DC penalties should only exist for players who do it repetitively. If you're on a streak you should be put on probation. Otherwise a player who DC's once in awhile shouldn't be penalized because sometimes there are bugs that make it so the match can't move on. Like, falling out of the map or getting stuck in collision which is something that happens in this game.
This is what I'm surprised the devs don't get.
Every game has penalties but they have a lot of leeway due to emergencies or bugs.
A lot of games have auto reconnect too. Where you dc a bot takes over and if you try to join a new game you are thrown into that one. If it ends before you rejoin you're on a 24h ban*the times you've done it in a row. Also repeated dc then join last minute to lose face bans

Won't happen. Every Killer would beeline to the Shack. Lol.
It would be nice to maybe have something that prevents a Survivor from dropping a pallet. Maybe the Killer can get the Entity to stop it somehow. In a Perk form of course. Then it is able to be dropped after a certain cooldown period.

We get it.. "just do gens" is a terrible response. Some people don't have the ability to communicate that as we all don't play the easy way of swf.
That means we need to rely on what we see and hear in game and if you can't tell he's camping until you run across the map to check on the hook (and that goes for every other survivor. Because, AGAIN, we all don't play swf). This means a whole lot of time is wasted not being able to do gens because we rely on each other as a team.
Please stop thinking "just do gens" is a reasonable response to this camping with one hit downs issue..
Yes you do.
Raise your hands on the hook. That means he's camping.
Or just run kindred

No. Not that I don't like the game. I just wouldn't get them.
Preemptive: I post so the devs don't just get yeses and can see there are some who like the game but not at that level.

How about no? Plenty of survivor groups are potatoes, punishing them would be ridiculous.. And the good survive groups would still do well solo, it would just punish them unfairly for wanting to play with friends
I made a post of giving bbq effect to that swf group only but no one seemed to care for it.
At the very least bonus xp for the troubles

I hear ya, I was just presenting that since people often times talk about having to spend time looking for and breaking totems. Feel like killers would LOVE the option of having something to break so they wouldnt have to worry about getting hit by some of the strongest survivor perks. What would we call survivor "Hex" perks? Hex is a bad thing, so youd wanna go for something "good".
I'm fine with hex survivor perks. Even though there could potentially be 12.

If you truly want it gone yes. Certainly better than searching for and cleansing 5 totems.
Searching for 5 totems as a team that spawn in the same locations and are often close to a gen.
Only one person has to do 2 totems. That's not a lot of time or effort.

They're just as unrealistic as eating a DS early/mid game. You see it in extreme situations: extreme survivor control and extreme killer control respectively.
No it's not. It's only unrealistic because only one person does it. If all 4 did it you'd have them wiped out in under 40 seconds.
You can also crouch x times to say how many you've done.
There are times I've done 4 and then noed starts because no one did the 5th.

Remove its current effect.
If a totem remains when the gates are powered, 3 random gens will reactivate. Gives the killer more time to make skilled plays rather than just free kills. It's essentially just making the survivors do 1 extra gen if they ignored totems.
That's not bad

I don't think OoO should be removed because I mean you can also see the survivor, however I do think swfs should have an icon above their name in the lobby that let's you know they're playing together, that way you can just use ghostface or wraith and their OoO is pretty much useless, as a matter of fact it will only backfire at the survivor using it.
If you show swf in pregame everyone will dodge.

@Elvenmonk Yeah, I live in 成都, and not using the VPN, the DBD experience here (in-game) provides good green-coded ping levels. Sometimes a yellow, never reds. There's no lag problem for me. Where are you? The situation in another part of China might be completely different. In-game pings are fine over here.
Now, the whole menu structure and sheer QUANTITY of connection errors... yeah that really has me fuming sometimes, wondering why I put up with it.
I'm in Beijing.
I rubber band like crazy. I'll join a lobby and be green then when I wait 20 seconds and click ready it jumps to red and I can't even move because I'm rubber banding so badly

i play alot with my friends/stream during the night. easily between 2-3 am. trust me i know the difference
2-3 am we're still not even home. Add 9 hours to 4pm. That's when we get off of work at the earliest. ######### I don't get off of work until 8:30 pm China time which is considered the start of gaming time, from what I've seen.
Again when we are playing it's like 5am to 1pm cst.
Trust me you don't. Especially if you refuse to even admit bad internet in the US

jesus i literally cant tell if youre trolling or just uneducated. do i need to send u clips of the type of hits vpn killers get on me?
Again unless you're playing at 6 am in the US you aren't playing against killers in Asia. We're 13+ hours ahead. So at 4 pm cst we are going to work. With work hours ending typically 9-10 hours later. Except in Japan where the average is 12 hours. Then there's commute back home, eating, family stuff, then finally playing.
Is it because you see boxes? My friends in the US all have Korean and Japanese characters for their names because they're kpop stans and weebs.
The time differences make this so hard to believe. If you think your wait times are bad try us servers at 5 am cst.
You are more than likely playing against locals with bad internet because the internetmarket is the worst in the US. My phone using metropcs would load videos faster at 720 then my desktop would at 240. It was such a issue I used my phone to download things over night because that was faster then using my$100 internet connection.

Those hits happened to me when I was in the states playing against my friends in the same city.
It's a known joke hit boxes are the size of Mars. That's not vpn that's their hit detection adjustment.
I've seen people vault a window run then get hit from local connections. Their hit adjustment is funny
Rubber banding would be caused by bad ping and that's what happens when i play on my local servers.

you clearly dont know how dedicated servers work. your ping/latency to the server and the servers ping itself both take account when it comes to what happens in game. just research it and you'll know what i mean
As someone who used to play on Israeli servers for fps games, that's false. Only my ping suffered.
Same when playing mmos on EU servers.
All from the states.
Also considering I tried to be a network programmer I'm sure I have a better understanding.
Unless dbd does theirs magically different

Unless you're playing at like 6 am most people in Asia are asleep or at work. We're 13+ hours ahead of you.

just because u have lower ping in one area doesnt mean the latency youre causing from the vpn isnt high. this has been proven many times.
Except we're not hosting the game. So it doesn't
And you ignored the bigger part of the argument

doesnt mean they have the right to come onto the NA servers and abuse high ping for an advantage
Notice the part where I say I get lower ping?
The issue really is a lot of people in the US have bad internet.
My old place before I moved to China I was lucky to get 100KBs. I could play with friends in my city and lag.
This is less a vpn and more a ######### state of the US internet.

I am an American living in China and I play DBD religiously. However, I never use my VPN, I just play with local Chinese players, with pings of 20-60, never a problem. When I try to play on, say, a VPN located in Los Angeles or Hong Kong, my ping skyrockets to 250-400, which is basically unplayable. The DBD playerbase in China is extremely healthy. Happy Lunar New Year!
Really? When I play on China servers I get just bad ping.

Have you ever played on the Asian servers? They're awful.

As far as I know the only time the game crashes with multiple killers is when a Pig tries to place a beartrap on a survivor that already has the beartrap of another Pig on them.
The only other significant bug, but not game-breaking, is when a Demogorgon steps into one of Tarpper's traps its head becomes invisible. Other killers will have their bodies distort to fit the stuck in trap animation but because the Demo doesn't share the same skeleton as other killers the game is unable to perform the animation and for whatever reason the Demo loses its head.
I remember Freddy used to with dream world. I assumed all m2s did it
-
This is back?
I remember one time seeing a 4 killer v1 survivor.
They were supposed to have fixed this.
Oh wow. This time both killers could use their powers too before if both did then the game crashed
-
I just have to know how the Asian servers are before I buy it.
-
They need to change the shrouds. It's way better for the killer for survivors to be together.
Though you too sacrifice one gen with it maybe 2 if they split up

Whats going on at Blizzard? Last time I heard of the was when the lootbox controversy hit hard.
Look up war craft 3 and over watch hero bans.
To sum up:
Wc3: they just lied to everyone about that remake
To full explain:
Ow: the comp scene has been asking for a moba ban system. Which is where before a match each person on a team bans 1 character from the game. To ban certain op characters and meta. Also forcing players to learn multiple characters.
Blizzard decided that they will put in a ban list they choose weekly of rotating heroes.
The reason OW wanted the bans is because certain heroes are just broken on certain maps. Since maps are randomly chosen this doesn't even begin to fix the issue. Say there's a map where bastion is the meta. If he's not banned that week and you get that map you are still going against him
This isn't the first time they ruined it as well. Tired of the competitive scene playing their game wrong they banned free choices and instead limit each team to 2 dps, tanks, and healers because before people were running mostly tanks because dps suck in the game after constant nerfs
