Would you like to see what happens when I click the following menu item?:
this is what happens:
Now, from my perspective, I don't care WHY you did what you did. I see a notification… I click it… to arrive at no explanation for the notification. Absurd. A waste of time. And then, just to drive the point home that no one paid attention, after I look at the store in confusion for a second, I return to the main menu to find the notification, that's right, you guessed it, STILL there.
It doesn't take a genius to understand why this isn't being fixed. And that knowledge is where the ire comes from.
Go ahead and make your play. But put on some nice clothes.

That is the official bug reporting website for Dead by Daylight. It is actively monitored by QA and team members. It is updated and fixes are communicated there. Your frustration is totally valid, however, and I understand being sent somewhere else isn't what you wanted to hear. The rest I can take as feedback!
And this is why you're in your position. I feel seen and heard. My compliments to the forums moderators, if not the MAIN MENU OF THE GAME. [wrecks nearby newspaper]
-
Oh, totally. Ticket submitted. Please, carry on.
-
'"Please go to this third separate bug-reporting website."
This is the proper, official response to the frustration of a regular player.
Well done.
Well done.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with BetaHub, but it's where you can communicate bugs directly to the team and get updates on them etc:
https://app.betahub.io/projects/pr-5642738318/
I don't believe notifications remaining are intended, and BetaHub is the best place to report it!
"Get lost."

@Balrog said:
Thanks for the feedback! It can be REALLY annoying when there's a notification that you can't clear up.
Just so I'm clear, it is store notifications that you're seeing that are the cause of frustration here?
Thanks for the follow-up! Here's the SITREP:
I'm in-game right now.
Mouseover the Quests icon > see pinned quests > quests are pinned that I don't remember pinning and can't UN-pin. Newly-pinned quests do not reliably stick (possibly as a consequence).
Also, your notification system sucks and is designed to draw me back to the store at every given opportunity. SO obvious.
…and you call yourself a polished effort. Where's the shame? ;)
And to answer your question simply: Yep.

There's no way they'd be $2 lol probably closer to $10
Well, considering how much they charge for a cosmetic$5-$10 vs. a WHOLE CHAPTER $8, I think you might be right. People will pay it.
-
Agreed. Most of what's on the Bloodweb doesn't concern me. I have a gfew things I go after and that's it. Streamers, etc.
-
Yeah when I say "The New Matchmaking system," I am referring to the unlock for a wider range of ranks. Gotta "love" it.
@GodDamn_Angela said:
Matchmaking is the same as it's been since the change in December 2019. You get matched mainly with players near your rank, but it's been "unlocked" so, if it takes to long, you can be matched with basically whoever.

Yeah I came here to complain and followed the advice on this thread about how to do it (including letting the animation play out, using Alert perk and being in line of sight of the killer) and got the achievement.
I spammed the action, too, and there were many instances where I felt I didn't meet all the criteria, but I got it anyway.
Several times, I was able to see the killer while I spammed the pointing, and several times I was not able to. I don't know which ones counted and which didn't.
Good luck!

Ok THAT pug doesn't suck. That's the most adorable thing I've seen all day.
It's just that all MY pugs suck. If that makes any sense.
-
350mb for two matches seems like a huge number, considering that if I stream a zoom meeting for an hour, it's only about 100mb or so. I've also heard in the past that online play uses less data than you'd think. I was hoping to pin down a more accurate number, but we'll see.
If anyone else wants to chime in, please do. I've marked a good answer for this thread, but I'd like to see more info, or another angle if anyone's got one.

I purchased the Yui outfit when it came out and now it's gone D: Who do I cry to? Not buying it again :\
-
4th Anniversary Load Screen Quote: Relax. Enjoy. Have fun.
And that's all there is to it, ladies and gentlemen. Win or lose, I always reply with "gg". It defeats the saltiness before it starts by showing that I don't really take the game so seriously.
-
I did not receive the cosmetic for Adam Francis after a match with gold glow active upon escape :\
MAP: Stranger Things lab
Playing on PC
EDIT: Also did not receive the cosmetic for Jeff Johannsen after a match with glow active
EDIT #2: The cosmetics appeared normally on these two survivors after I restarted my game. yay!

I like that the names are censored by themselves
Yeah, this is China Mainland community, so their names don't show up when your game is set to 'English'

I have noticed that there are a lot of people that annoy their cats between games lol
-
Same here. Except I often forget and then I'm only notified when my headphones tell me the match has actually started 😏

Extending on your poll. I wish they added many different animations for the same thing and making them random so there is a lot of variation in attacking, breaking pallets, and so forth.
More variation means more entertainment. And if they entertain me, I'm more willing to lay down that money $$$ It's a win win.
-
@Strancol said:
Yes , yes and yes. That would be amazing. I'm bored seeing the same animation 4 times in a single match
That's another thing I didn't consider. Setting up multiple mori's during a match as random, or sequential or--even better--being able to choose which one you want to do either before the match or on the spot, like a skill check. I love all these possibilities.

This. Emotes are [also] only just gonna make the community even more toxic and annoying.
How so?
-
@casonius said:
Honestly the need to update so many mori's anyway. "oh haha what if he just hits the survivor a few times?" GROUNDBREAKING STUFF! Seriously, half the reason people watch horror movies is for the crazy kills. Why doesn't trapper shove people's head in a bear trap? Why doesn't pig just blow people's head up on the spot? Why doesn't Clown break a poison bottle over someone's head? Why doesn't legion have a gun?
Seriously, some mori's, like Doctor, Shape, Nurse, Plague, and Deathslinger feel really inspired and cool and you kinda wanna watch them. But Wraith literally just does his m1 animation 3 times. Every killer should have an mori that fits their power or atleast their gimmick.
I think you nailed it. DBD appeals to different people for different reasons, but I think it's safe to say that we're here because we're horror/slasher fans. And how they make their kills is something that interests us. You can come up with new survivors and new killers until you have 100 of each, but that's still not as admirable as investing time into the development and enrichment of each character. Which they ARE doing with the stories and backgrouns and clips, etc., in the archive, but I'm personally looking for something more intense. I don't care--like, at all--about the fact that The Spirit got bullied as a little girl. What am I supposed to do, cry for her? I want to see how many different ways she can take someone's head off. And I'd pay money for unique mori's.

I feel alternative moris should be earned through the archives. After finishing the story and unlocking the cutscene for a killer, you would get an alternative mori. The same could be done with survivors, but instead, they would unlock special gestures/emotes.
Mori's, gestures, emotes... they could incorporate that all and still have room to throw them out as rewards. I like your idea. Especially emotes for survivors. People would throw big money at this game.
The only obstacle to overcome, though, would be the idea that they don't want us communicating during the game. I think I read that they're changing that, though? Ability to chat during matches, etc.? If that barrier is removed, then no problem.
-
@DetailedDetriment said:
I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of chosing moris as a customization option, but I'd rather see older moris just get changed up. Excluding Huntress...leave her mori alone.
As a customization option! Brilliant idea. I love it. Why the heck didn't I think of that?
And what's better... they could SELL that. Selling mori's. It's genius because people would pay BIG for that.

Thanks for the clarification! :D I can't WAIT to combo Remember Me with Dead Man's Switch!!
I'm not convinced that Remember Me would actually provide a lot of synergy when combined with Dead Man's Switch. What benefit would there be, given that Remember Me just increases the Exit Gate opening time?

Some doctors and Freddy's give me that feeling, op
Whenever I face a killer who seems to delight in being as creepy and psychotic as possible, this idea flashes across my mind.
In my opinion, this feeling makes the game better! I love the idea of a real killer playing DBD... and then pallet-stunning him, hiding too well for him, or escaping through the hatch. Then, at the end of the game, I say "GG LOSER HAHA!" and I imagine a real-life killer freaking out and smashing his keyboard like a maniac. Then I giggle a little bit.

This started off rocky BUT still a fun thread idea. My confessions are vanilla but here we go!
Confession 1: If I am play Pig and you boop my snoot you have immunity.
Confession 2: If the game was fun and clean I will let my fav killers kill me. I got my pip, do whatever you want to me!
Confession 3: I don't run meta perks, second chance perks, or exhaustion perks. I am information kind of person and feel more confident when I have eyes on everything.
I feel like I made this thread for this kind of response. Well done. I feel the same way you do. I don't take things too too seriously, so I felt that a little light-hearted "confession" was in order (even though I don't play like that, typically, nor support mean-spirited toxic behavior). I don't even mind if killers kill me, nor do I mind when I'm killer and everyone escapes. We have a laid-back approach to the game. Looking at how serious people get, it's sometimes off-putting because we're just here for the actual fun of it.
-
Note to self: comedy routine sucks. Start over from scratch.
-
Oh, I'm not being serious ;) Just having a bit of fun

On paper it sounds as a cool idea but when you think about it it is really not that great. Basically we will have a wall that killers can break and I just can't find a reason in notes why you can't do that right away when you see the wall. I mean they add notes where perks affect the speed like these walls will be something unexpected you get to do while in chase but in end these walls will be predetermined and they are nothing like pallets where you have to drop it first. So you can just break the wall at any time if you pass by such wall and just not waste any time in chase. I don't see where the fun in that is. If the devs want a hole is some random place just add it ....
I do believe they actually play-test their changes. There's a QA department and all that. The goal they're going for might be something you haven't considered.
-
No one has mentioned this yet, but I'm thinking about how great it would be if survivors just couldn't see these spots whatsoever. If the breakable walls were Only visible to the killer. I think that ought to be allowed because how great is that? And, yes, especially with Wraith or Pig or even Insidious. Can't wait to see.
And yeah, this might not be a buff at all, in the end. Breaking stuff takes precious seconds during which your clever survivor is taking off. I'm curious to see how that plays out.
Good addition, I say!
Add another chunk of weight to balance the scale.

I like this idea a lot! I would love to see individual items being released. Maybe even in crates or something you can open from daily rituals or extra archive goals.
Another one I had was something like making alternatives of an outfit, just like simple reskins, but once you buy the root outfit, all the reskins become significantly cheaper.
Also another idea, selling entire collections. Like the Grim Matsuri collection could be sold for the price of 2160 auric cells or so, I think that would significantly boost sales.
Yeah, you're right on with the reskins thing. Like, I might want to buy Nea's neon jogging gear that's all pink and blue, but suppose I like that outfit, but want green on black? Just let me buy the outfit and then sell me cheapish skins for it. It could potentially multiply their sales of cosmetics exponentially. Don't strictly bind the color and insist upon total creative control of the cosmetics. Let users pick their colors. I do, however, see this being a potential issue, as some player choices for colors are questionable at best.
About selling entire collections, I think people might appreciate that. We pay a lot for convenience. Sell me the collection with a tiny discount for buying it as a whole, and you just convinced me--due to convenience--to buy something I would otherwise not have decided to buy. Like in a pack of survivor + killer cosmetics, as they usually release, I might like the survivor and only buy that one. But if you give me a discount and make it easy for me, I might just give you more money by one-click purchasing that convenient package.
-
Someone already guessed this, but I'm going with The Priest

I think there shouldn't be any dc penalties. The devs want my money and they think they can take them by not letting me play their game? Hell no. Dc penalties are bs. I payed the game and I'm allowed to do what i want. Who cares to git gud.
Am I Right?
No sir, you are not right. If players weren't quitting games just because they feel like it, we wouldn't be having this problem.
-
I never had that crouch bug happen to me, but, knowing DBD, it's just a matter of time before I get unceremoniously deposited into the dumpster by some element of the game code. More and more, I ask myself, "Why do I even bother with this game?" It crashes and breaks so regularly that I'd just have fun going back to PAYDAY 2 or something.
Funny, though, they really have that code for store transactions perfect in every way...
-
As far as I know, it doesn't matter whether the survivors are awake or dreaming, the hooked survivor gets Borrowed Time when they are unhooked.
-
Not thinking only with my logical brain, but rather also with my sense of enjoyment and entertainment, I should say that, to preserve a sense of realism and to preserve the suspension of disbelief that occurs when our pulse quickens upon being discovered by the killer, when we race to unhook a survivor or mutter "come on! come ON!" while rooting through a chest or dismantling a totem, it should not be the case that, when everything else seems so concrete ("flesh and blood", if you want to say that), we should be able to magically run through each other. It would do much to destroy the atmosphere created by the game, and should, in my opinion, in my feeling, only be included where it becomes an absolute necessity to enhance the experience that is Dead by Daylight (as it is in the case of a no-clip often triggering when the killer hits you, the devs likely wanting to give you that extended chance to run for your freakin' life). That tense experience, that sense of consequence and danger, exists not apart from, but rather includes as a crucial element, that frustration which occurs when someone body-blocks you as you're trying to flee.
A big, wonderful part of this game is screaming obscenities at it.
-
Looks cool.
I'm in the camp of people who think it's prisoner-themed in some way. You can see the chain snap taut at the end, which means someone (or some...Thing!) is definitely attached against its will and looking to escape.
Being snatched by The Fog is good for escaping...
Plus, the archtype fits: The Prisoner / The Escaped Killer / The Convict , etc. it fits.
-
See? Confirmation from at least one other person! Can we get more?
-
I know, of course ;)
What I mean is that they can sell individual items instead of trying to come up with concepts for whole outfits and releasing them like that. Like a bald tattoo'd head for Jake or a dunce cap for Quentin. ;)
-
Freddy and Ghostface.
I love Freddy because he was always my favorite horror villain, and I like Ghostface because of his ability to both sneak and move quickly.
-
I dunno, I think crafting might make DBD seem more troublesome than its really worth. I mean, if I had to start calculating the best combinations and recipes for crafting, and if I had to start collecting components from my matches, I might be inclined to just put DBD down for something else. I don't play for the RPG elements like that.
The first thing that attracted me to DBD was that it was a simple first-person STABBER and an exciting survival experience.
Hard pass on it being anything but that. Keep it simple, I say.
-
I almost got it myself, but one of the players saw it coming and disconnected to save his precious little Rank.
-
I know I don't need to rush, it's just that I do anyway lol

Really? When I play on China servers I get just bad ping.
@Elvenmonk Yeah, I live in 成都, and not using the VPN, the DBD experience here (in-game) provides good green-coded ping levels. Sometimes a yellow, never reds. There's no lag problem for me. Where are you? The situation in another part of China might be completely different. In-game pings are fine over here.
Now, the whole menu structure and sheer QUANTITY of connection errors... yeah that really has me fuming sometimes, wondering why I put up with it.
-
I am an American living in China and I play DBD religiously. However, I never use my VPN, I just play with local Chinese players, with pings of 20-60, never a problem. When I try to play on, say, a VPN located in Los Angeles or Hong Kong, my ping skyrockets to 250-400, which is basically unplayable. The DBD playerbase in China is extremely healthy. Happy Lunar New Year!
-
I say nothing to camping killers in the after-game chat. I only talk if something funny or surprising happened. I used to get really, REALLY angry at that, and curse and complain after the game, but I had a moment of clarity that changed my whole approach to campers. My new perspective is as follows:
I don't hold anything against anyone for anything they do in the game.
I know that there are as many reasons for playing DBD as there are players. It's easy to curse at someone for face-camping every survivor they catch... until you remember that you might in fact be playing against a 10 year old who just loaded the game for the first time and wants to see his/her handiwork up close. Maybe you're playing against someone getting drunk at home on a Saturday night and he just wants to goof around as a killer. I mean, there are so many unknowns and variables that you can't just mindlessly rage over someone camping you.
-
I have seen killers use Slugging to devastating effect. As a survivor, I can only admire the killer's ingenuity and then run for my life. It's effective! And because this game doesn't claim to be perfectly balanced, it's all good.
As a killer, I sometimes use this method, but not often. But yeah, you wanna get in my face with your flashlight while I'm carrying my fresh meat to the hook? I'll drop that sucker and come right after ya. If that's slugging, so be it!
