Where’s the bias? It’s simply about EGC being a fair situation.

How is that unfair? It shouldnt be a death sentence just because you go down at the endgame as opposed to the beginning of the match. You have every right to continue chasing and downing people, but survivors also should be able to go for saves if need be. If a survivor goes down for the first time during EGC, they have 2 minutes on the hook before the entity sacrifices them. If a team wants to do a rescue smart, thats the timeframe they have. The EGC was never intended to award more kills just cuz, its meant to end the game in instances where the last survivor can stealth for an hour until you DC. That timer is in no way a survivor buff.

They are more interested in the new blood who will play 4000 hours starting today.

  • Feel like the big thing is people just dont see the true purpose of the end game collapse, which is to bring the game to an end. Its main purpose isnt to kill anyone. A killer isnt anymore set back by a 99ed gate NOW than they were by an open gate before EGC was introduced. The only real change being its intended purpose, which is to let the killer end the game in instances where the last survivor is spending the next half hour hiding in a bush.

You also can't blame people for playing around perks, in this case blood warden. Just like I might wait an extra second before hitting an injured survivor just incase of dead hard, survivors will do similar things like hop in a locker just incase of BBQ, cleanse dull totems just incase of NOED or in this case...not fully open the gate just incase of blood warden.

Survivors will whine about anything get changes that are "oP" and start on a new target after they get changes implemented even though it is an asymmetrical game. Salty survivors cant play at higher player levels.

Spirit's Prayer Beads - too OP

Doctors - Snap out of it - Too OP

Nurses - Multi Blink - Let's give it a cool down

Legions Mend Times - oh no! Not another hurdle for 4 players to get around.

The Dev's don't care about killer they only care about the licenses that they will get paid for. The survivors are a bigger player base, so they must appeal to the masses moreso than the people who come to be the horror in the horror game. But ,I digress, I dont play much anymore, BHVR killed it for me with pandering to the survivor player base instead of the player base as a whole.

Some of the changes are pretty founded. Prayer beads giving easy gen grabs was broken. The idea that a perk should be a requirement to counter a killer is dumb. Spine chill is a good perk, but shouldnt be a requirement. Its pretty similar to how Calm spirit counters Doc, but your not immediately screwed if you dont have calm spirit equiped.

The snap out of it change... im skeptical on that one but we'll see how it pans out once it hits live. Doc's ability to tier people up DID change, so it makes since that might have sparked changes to snapping out of it. The Legion mending nerf though didnt make a whole lot of sense to me.

Dude your explanation was "You can’t play against Iridescent Head when the Huntress is revving your back and hitting one shot hatchets at melee range" and I ask you, why you say thats too much, but other killers in melee are lethal too? How does that make sense?

"A good Huntress will not miss her shot in a melee range." So you do need skill and practise with it. Its odd, first you say skilled huntress players dont use it, then you say you need to be a good huntress player to use it. Could you please try to stick to one point. It gets really confusing what you mean.

"80% of the Huntresses that use Iridescent Head pair it with a mori and kill the team in 4 minutes." thats just fake news.

"I don’t see how you think it is a balanced add-on. It’s overkill." . Imo iri heads are really strong and deserve to be an ultra rare. Its balanced in terms of effect, rareness, player skill involved and also has a downside.

I dont understand why you want to nerf an addon thats rarely used and if used, not by good huntress players like you said.

Typically when I hear about the back revving 1 shot Huntress arguement, I end up wondering how people survive against Bubba. If thats all your doing is getting melee range before ever tossing a hatchet, surely Bubba is a more lethal version since he at least moves at 115%.

  • Pretty sure its just a warning before getting banned. The mods message you to let ya know what you did wrong to land you in hot water and if you continue to act like that while jailed, then you get escalated. I know from personal experience the mods are pretty sensible. Typically Rizzo will hop on a thread to remind ppl to stay civil alot of times.

I post alot of screenshots like this one sometimes and when I posted 4 on one thread and accidentally posted an uncensored one... Rizzo edited the post to remove the screenshot and messaged me to let me know. I replaced the screenshot with a censored version and all was fine.Even though TECHNICALLY it was naming and shaming since it was uncensored, due to me acting appropriately to the situation no action was taken against me. Afew months after that, I actually got my red PFP and "Forum member of the month".

Take what you want out of it, but to use your analogy, a lot of small problems build up into a car crash, not just negligent driving

Your right, alot of problems CAN build into something major. The devs are fixing things though without the requirement of "just bring so and so perk". Your seeing less and less overly safe pallets and HOPEFULLY asylum gets a visit soon. At no point did they try to sell the idea that a single perk would fix all my problems. If Hangmans trick was REQUIRED to get a hook in other than basement hooks, that would be #########. Thats not the case though, and the perk only acts to do what all perks do which is to improve upon something while not being a necessity.

As far as Coulrophobia in your example, many changes have been made since release to avoid situations like you stated. Perks have been altered, maps tweeked and items changed. Instablinds are no longer a thing so no killer ever feels like Lightborn for example is required.

    https://clips.twitch.tv/AntsyIncredulousAlfalfaBibleThump

This here is no longer possible, so someone isnt gonna think that STBFL or something is required. These arnt bandaid fixes, the devs worked to change the problem rather than sell something to hide the symptoms. The game isnt perfect and still a WIP for alot of things (Asylums main building is still a pain), but I'm not seeing any perks that are deemed REQUIRED to fix something rather than just aid in 1 aspect of the game while the devs have acted to make the game playable without perks.

A buddy on my friends list got jailed for telling someone who disagreed with him that they needed to "calm down" repeatidly when that person was no more heated or uncivil than he himself was. The jail was reversed maybe a month later and we all move on.

They are broken. The devs obviously overlooked the fact it can be combined with extra hatchet add ons to increase its power by 100-200%. Just remove this exploit and people will be fine with it.

The devs already nerfed the addon by increasing the number of hatchets your missing from 2 to 4. You cant call it an oversight anymore when its already been looked at. Also, using addons isnt an "exploit".

  • @EZ5k said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1012022#Comment_1012022

No, I'm saying before the perk existed, and before they slapped in the infinite fix on one of the CP windows, people would straight up heal at the safe pallets then infinite you until they had the distance to heal at the next pallet, which they'd stun you with, rinse and repeat for 3 pallets and you have enough time to full heal.

So during all this with an overly long chase and infinite windows, your saying the problem was healing at pallets? Thats the equivalent of a mechanic looking at a car crash scene and telling me the oil needs changed. Its also ironic that in this scenario centered around window looping, the Clown perk that was deemed as a bandaid fix was Coulrophobia.

  • @EZ5k said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1012003#Comment_1012003

On crotus penn it generally happened by the infinite windows, you start healing the second you get free, then shortly before the break finishes, start running from the safe door loop to the infinite window and GGEZ, either the killer commits to chasing you back to stair safe pallet, or he ######### off to the next person who runs the exact same loop.

So your saying you get in roughly 1 second of healing in per pallet, and that was enough to require ppl to run a perk so your value during that 1 second was halved? Personally, Ive never bothered equiping the perk, not did I ever find myself in a situation where I go "gosh darnit, if only I had Coulrophobia right about now". The assumed problem was never big enough to deem a bandaid fix from me.

  • @EZ5k said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1011986#Comment_1011986

Yeah, but at the time you didn't need an insta heal to heal quickly, and since coul wasn't out quite yet, you could just speed heal during the break animation and continue onwards. Worked wonders on Crotus Penn loops

If your healing during the animation, it means your not running away. Once the pallet is broken... now what? Your injured and still infront of the killer. This same predicament is why people tend to laugh at injured survivors who flashlight blind at pallets...because they dont get distance.

  • @Colton147 said:

As of lately, it's been more killer players from what I've seen.

If you see someone breaking the rules, hit the flag icon next to the post. This doesnt have to be a killer versus survivor thing. You can find ######### people on both sides. If your saying the maker of the video doesnt have the right to speak his opinion, id disagree. Although I might not agree with every point, Coconut stayed civil for the entire video and backed up each point he was making.

Claiming he cant say anything on one platform (youtube) because he was jailed on a separate platform (these forums) is silly. If he ever crossed the line to the degree that the devs wanted nothing to do with him, theyd have banned him from the game itself. Being jailed could very simply mean he got in an overly heated discussion on the forums and will have the icon removed at a later date, like is the case with many users here.

  • @EZ5k said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1011964#Comment_1011964

Eh, I can actually recount pretty accurately how often people in high ranks brought insta heals to heal at a pallet, or brought a fast heal loadout. People definitely healed mid chase after dropping safe or god pallets, meaning you HAD to break said pallet in question.

If your using an instaheal though...you dont even need the pallet and it wouldnt be affected at all by Coulrophobia which is what Coconut was claiming was being sold to us as a fix. As far as overly safe pallets goes, yes...you could infact heal at them. Its up to the killer to recognize those pallets for what they are and NOT try to loop around them after theyve been dropped. If I drop shack pallet, you should probably break it instead of vaulting the window back and forth and being surprised you cant touch me.

  • The video does have afew good points, but many of the "band-aid fixes" that were brought up werent issues. Sabotaging for example wasn't "fixed" by hangman's trick. While hangman's trick does counter sabotaging, the devs already toned down sabotaging significantly by making the hooks respawn naturally.

Coulrophobia countering "pallet healing" is another non-issue in that a survivor would have to stop running to heal at a pallet, something the killer chasing them is unlikely to let them do.The only pallets where this would be at all possible would be super safe pallets like shack pallet and only if the killer is too dead set on not breaking it once its been thrown. The devs have been slowly removing these super safe pallets from the game and replacing them with more pallets that can be played around, thus no time for survivors to sit and heal at them mid chase.

I DID say the video offered some good points too though, so I dont wanna be overly harsh on it. The devs insistance that new ruin will be just as good because new survivors were unlikely to notice sparks coming off a gen is abit of a joke. If the perk is banking off survivors not being aware of whats right infront of them, thats not a good perk. Hoping the survivors I face get overly scared of my TR and let their gens regress to 0 and get puzzled as to what happened while hiding in a bush is generally not a good strategy going into a match. Experienced survivors will know whats going on IMMEDIATELY, and will likely cause them to be less altruistic and more inclined to finish the gen they're working on instead of going for an immediate hook save.

Im not going to completely ######### on new ruin because honestly...I didnt bother too much with the PTB and will have to give it an actual shot once it hits live. My point is that telling us "testing shows this perk works great on new survivors" isn't helping your case because we could already stomp new survivors that are too afraid to touch a gen. We wanna know how it fairs against EXPERIENCED survivors. Tell us about the testing against THOSE survivors.

NOED= Weak killer. So you know from the beginning all gens are done basically. Easy 1 hit down and extra speed. You can't handle the endgame, ok i respect that.

Not necessary, could very well (like all endgame perks) just offer some assistance to killers who lack power in the endgame. I use to use it all the time on OG Freddy due to the fact that often times survivors would wake up via adrenaline and Id have to somehow sleep the entire team and get 2 hits in before the doors were open. I often times was able to just fine at killing people BEFORE endgame, but had NOED as insurance so I wasnt just screwed when I walked up to a gate half open by an awake survivor.

Even Glint won't sit there and pretend Bubba has any gen pressure on unbalanced maps.

PWYF actually throws a pretty big wrench in things when it comes to looping, with Bubba being one of the best killers to make use of it. If you wanna play Spirit though...go for it. Shes one of the killers I havent learned yet and intend on picking up eventually. Currently practicing Billy for probably another month before moving on to the next project.

    20191204063458_1.jpg

Heres an example of a game I had with my old build before I started rocking PWYF which had no ruin.

Started slotting on ruin with my PWYF build because...why not? I didnt need anymore help to win chases, so I just tacked on whatever slowdown I felt like and maybe a tracking perk like BBQ.

The cooldown would be worth a look at. It wouldn't even need to be a long cooldown, just something that says "right you just sprinted from one side of the map to the other, now you need to wait 10-15 seconds to be able to make it all the way back".

Freddy has to wait 45 seconds for a cooldown. Demo 14 seconds. Billy should have a cooldown too.

Freddy and Demo have abilities to use in the chase once they actually GET there though, whereas for Billy...Thats it. His chase power IS his mobility power.

No, she is not S tier, but definitly very powerful. Still, Billy, Nurse and Spirit are even better.

Her main problem is mobility, so even the Huntress is very skilled, she skill can get genrushed by a decent team.

Doesnt help that shes very map dependent. Alot of maps have either WAY too much stuff getting in the way of long distance shots, or loops that have debris JUST tall enough to not be able to throw a hatchet over but still plenty short enough to be able to clearly see a Huntress so she cant do any cheeky mindgaming.

  • Reminds me of a game I had... 2 Survivors left with one of them just getting unhooked as I was on the other side of the map. Start heading back over, only to hear an explosion sound of a survivor jump into a locker... Only 1 other survivor who could possibly do gens and like 2 gens to go, so I waited... This was the chat afterward.

  • When your norm for playing the character is using Iri heads and ebony moris...yeah, its strong. Id recommend ya try using other addons and a normal offering to see what your results are.

  • I only say it when the match is immediately canceled due to someone DCing while loading in. Might also include how much I did some non-existent 360s or something. Beyond that, I normally just end a game with "GGs" whether I won by a landslide or lost horrendously.

Ruin is bad at red ranks anyways. CI has always been better. Ruin usually only lasts a minute or two anyways, unless you get a really good spawn on like Hawkins. It stops people from spawning on top of your generators and immediately starting on them.

I could spam this thread with all my ruin-less wins at red ranks. Here's one I just played a minute ago.

I'm a rank 3 , hes the only killer I really cant beat. I'm fine going against spirit and freddy (and nurse but that's super easy now) a lot of people are saying loop him but you cant loop a killer forever especially with how fast he breaks pallets.

also with myers he doesnt have a instadown right away, he has to work up to it .

Whats your thought on Bubba then, who also has a normal movement speed and access to an instadown at all times?

  • @Dreamnomad said:

It doesn't need a rework. The only thing it needs is to extend the range that killers can't see hook auras. That would increase it's value without making it broken.

Even that is pretty iffy on maps like Hawkins where finding a hook is already a pain in the ass due to LOS blockers and the maze like setup of "wheres the door". On maps like autohaven, it wouldnt be an issue since you can still SEE hooks if you look around abit, with the aura reading blocking just giving abit of a chance for the killer to overlook one. Had this same thing get brought up awhile back when ppl were saying open handed should buff up aura blocking range of boil over.

Hey so I'm not sure why but Otzdarva used to annoy me and I wouldn't watch his videos. Maybe he had a video or two that wasn't that good and that's all I watched from him. but now I've been watching him a lot. Some of the things he does can still be annoying here and there but his videos have good effort put into them and you can learn a lot of different things. so thanks for getting me to watch him. :D I used to watch tru3ta1ent a lot but it's tough to watch him anymore because he's getting so burned out on the game and obviously needs a break. He's always so salty as of late.

I use to watch Tru3 alot when I first got into the game, but I know what you mean. Hearing him rant every video about the power role gets old. I now just joke around about how many times he can use the word "optimal". Now days, I tend to stick with Otz, Ohtofu and Fungoose since theyre all knowledgeable, and their videos are pretty informative but WITHOUT the sodium levels that Tru3 puts out.

  • The meter goes down anytime someone is standing still, the killer just cant see the meter's progress

  • I feel like people GREATLY undervalue the increased lunge range and vaulting speed of T3 Myers. The guy is alot more than just "Exposed, the power". Just because Plague can M1 a broken survivor, doesnt mean she does the same as a T3 Myers. Theres also a pretty big upside to 1 shotting a healthy survivor as Myers vs hitting a broken survivor with Plague, that being the lack of Dead Hard being an option. Dead hard for distance can often times be the saving grace of a survivor making it to a pallet or window they otherwise wouldnt have.

Apart from that... Plague's BP gain is also pretty bad as well as her emblems.

  • Im just curious when Calm Spirit is gonna hit shrine again. Gonna laugh if its the same week as the Doc update.

I would honestly say that Fixated is a QoL perk. I like seeing my scratch marks as survivor, mainly because I play so much killer, that the lack of scratch marks are weird to me.

I feel like Fixated's true usefulness is in the extra walking speed boost, with the whole scratchmark thing just being a neat bonus.

  • Only time I really find it annoying is when its used on me by a survivor I wasnt even chasing. I'll be running a survivor through shack or something, just to get blindsided. The idea that I should respect EVERY locker that a survivor runs past turns pretty silly when pretty much every jungle gym has a locker. If I make every turn super wide to avoid possible head-on stuns from a survivor in every locker...i'll never get anything accomplished.

Imagine a survivor running through this... What do you do? Check every locker just incase while completely abandoning chase on the one your after?

    image.png

@Apple2o Was editing this right before ya posted. Numerically, id rather the sprint burst. They get an extra 6 meters distance they wouldnt have had already as opposed to the 12 from head-on. Sprint burst gives them an extra 50% boost for 3 seconds while headon forces me to give them a headstart for 3 seconds which would be the equal of a 100% boost.

Well lets be honest here in ptb she was pretty trash, after she got multiple buffs post ptb did she become what she was and then nerfed a couple times after as long as survivors don't know when she is phasing in her terror radius and the sounds aren't bugged to #########, she'll be fine.

I know what you mean though, but it's understandable why people react the way they do alot of killer nerfs have been happening, spirit and nurse probably got some questionable nerfs, Oni got his flick taken away until now where they are giving it back and poor pig keeps getting a bat to her knees after EGC came out while Legion is already dead.

I read that and now am just picturing the devs walking around each update like...

Do they take out the games were a rank 10 killer plays against rank 2 and 3 survivors? Do they take out the games were rank 1 killers play against rank 10 survivors?

That's why @YaiPa says, and rightfully so, that the data from statistics is badly acquired.

Before matchmaking gets fixed, they can't fix piping system because they will always use data from very unballanced matches, and before they can balance the game (maps, perks, killer habilities) they have to fix ranking system first so... it all comes down to fixing the source of all the problems first: Matchmaking.

I'm curious bout the DC matches. If I get stomped with 4 survivors tagging at the exit gates... If I DC, does it count?
