..Only to have ds ready followed by teabags , still be too far out, and get downed again, 3 friends are nearby to body block and all 4 escape because the only hook nearby was broken in your face.

Ive actually caught someone recently who stopped by the exit to do a little tbag against my Billys saw. Thanks to cooldown addons...was able to snag him before he crawled out.

I just had a match on swamp. A player went afk with only two survivors alive. I couldn’t kill her or the other would get hatch, so I slugged her. The crows caused explosions for the next 10 minutes while I searched grass for a stupid blendette. Was driving me insane.

Couldve just hooked her near hatch so you could go ahead and close it easily...

  • Turning my volume down doesnt help me hear the sounds I WANT to hear, such as grass moving or survivors moaning...like I said.

  • Had someone do this to me this morning as I was playing on Pale rose. The boat gen was already done and he kept jumping in and out of a locker on the boat. I just took it as this guy isnt being productive, so lets hunt his teammates who ARE working on gens.

I DO wish something would be done about the explosion noises though, since those are deafening when your trying to hear more subtle things like grass moving or a survivor moaning.

@Peanits is there anything that can be done to mute the noise after the first 5 explosions or something?

  • Found a video explaining it better... Its dumb and hoping it gets patched out. Manipulating your hitbox so your damn near untouchable shouldnt be a thing.

  • While your in the hooking animation, ppl crouch between the hooked teammate and the post. Makes it pretty much impossible to hit them, and more often than not...you'll swing, only for the game to register that you hit the guy on the hook. They then unhook while you go through the attack cooldown animation.

  • Had another decent chat, so figured id just post it here...

These guys found themselves in a predicament where I had 2 ppl hooked and they kept trying to rush an unhook as I was hooking the other and just kept trading. Later in the chat, they called that camping, lol. Told them I'm gonna chase them if I see the whole team here rather than go off into a corner to pretend to look for someone I know isnt there.

Do you people have any embarressing stories that made you facepalm for yourself?

My psn messages would argue that Myers is a no-go. Any "garbage 1 hit killer" is off limits.

Nah, I remember chatting with a guy way back who claimed both Wraith and OG Freddy were OP because they were invisible.

All indoor maps are great for stealth killers, Hawkins especially due to lack of safe pallets. Nurses Calling is great for these maps too because they will not see or hear you coming. Thana and Sloppy is a good combo, I assume you are playing Ghostface by not stalking and going for easy hits, right? In which case, yeah, those perks work a lot better that way. I like to stalk while playing Ghostface, hence why my build is mainly for detection and chasing.

Like I said, I dont have much experience with him yet. Ive actually PLAYED him like MAYBE 5 games, so this loadout is just a copy of a Tru3talent loadout as opposed to what I've actually adjusted to. After abit of play time, I can mix and match things to fit the style I've fallen into. This is more of a starting point.

That's a pretty solid build. Chewed Pen is probably Ghostface's best addon, anything that reduces Night Shroud's cooldown is great. BBQ and Nurses are always great perks, Sloppy is solid, Thana not so much.

I like to run a really aggressive Ghostface. BBQ, Nurses, Discordance, and Brutal Strength. BBQ and Nurses let me find survivors really easily. Discordance lets me get off easy stalks, and Brutal Strength lets me eat pallets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I figured with the indoor map, id be more likely to get value with Nurses calling, and between sloppy and thana... im more likely to catch them injured.

    BBQ...I like points, lol

Ive been picking up chewed pens as I go and currently have 40 of em.

I rarely get matched with red ranks when I solo queue, and I get the same killers that I do when I solo queue when I queue up with my green-yellow rank friends. Plus, it always takes at least three minutes to get into a survivor lobby.

Killer queue times are pretty great, but I keep getting sub-par teams. It's like I'm in purple ranks. I can't play hag without stomping everyone, which is no fun, so I just play Legion instead. I like a challenge on killer, and I'm not getting it very often.

    It sucks.

Havent played Freddy in like 2 months due to him being my answer to tough teams. Just been swapping between OTHER killers and getting some playtime in on them... I got every perk on Bubba...didnt think id ever say THAT.

  • @johnmwarner said:

Red rank survivors when I sooo queue are just bad half the time. Self caring jn a corner against sloppy, crouching for minutes at a time doing nothing, etc

Typically when I hook someone and see a survivor aura way in the distance, 5 miles from the nearest gen just self caring away... I just chuckle and go after their teammates who ARE being productive.

I still haven't got all perks on any of my killers yet. While I'm prestiging them I try to find a good build for them, and once I have that build fully leveled up at P3-50 I stop putting BP in because I never run addons anyway. Only times I run addons are for the last game before I prestige, where I run the best addons and offerings for that killer. Hope survivors like Redhead's Pinky and Flask of Bleach with an Ebony Mori.

I didn't buy her crown because it barely changes, and I liked the P3 crown on her better. I also just like getting all my mains to P3-50, which I do by playing solely as that character, even at red ranks with trash perks. That way when I finally do get to P3-50, I feel I have actually learned how to truly play that killer, and that I have improved in general. Also, if Plague is an elder god, why is she hanging out with the Entity?

I dont bother prestiging my characters, but instead just focus on unlocking every perk on them. Currently... I have every perk unlocked on only 4 killers. I have working perk loadouts on plenty of other killers, but not EVERY perk unlocked...THATS my goal...

  • Was actually already saying they should add multiple moris that you can pick from. Only thing about this though is that it might spike how often you have people USING moris. I know personally...I have a fat stack of em due to the fact that I very rarely use em.

I had a David that did the hook tech at the start of the match. I was really you little turd? Survivor mains think that the killer will follow their unwritten rules. Nope, not I, especially when you show that you’re not scared. So I swing to bait him into unhooking (I use the perk that reduces cool down on M1 attack), I tunnel the unhooked, lo and behold here comes David again. Same thing happens, and the unhooked dies. Game was over in 5 minutes because he was too busy showing he wasn’t scared of me rather than to go do gens. His other two teammates got killed as well. He only got away because I left him slugged while hooking someone else and he got the hatch.

Now when I find a player like that, I’ll tunnel them and farm with their team and let them escape while they watch from the shadows.

Its also really good on Nurse and Spirit.

Wow, I must have either misread the perk or remembered it incorrectly. I thought it was rushed actions OUTSIDE of your terror radius. I watched both of those examples and it does seem good. Definitely going to give it a try, thanks :D

Pretty sure it originally was, but it got changed like a week after release due to how useless that is. Since the majority of your chase time as Legion is against injured survivors, you only need to get 1 cheeky hit in, making the perk work really well on him.

I enjoy reading these posts. For those that don’t like it, they can simply not read it.

I had a David cry about me respecting pallets. They had one dead, one on hook, one slugged and David was last but injured. He runs to a pallet and just stands there thinking I’m going to walk through and let him stun me. I can’t go around because the pallet was on the second floor of the house on the snow map, so I’d have to go downstairs to get around it or let him hit me.

I decided to wait, felt like we waited for three minutes until he decided to drop it and run.

    They all died, muahahahahahaha.

Its times like this that I always think is kinda funny...when survivors realize THEIR the ones on the clock atm. Had a Dwight do the "hook tech" trick during EGC, so I just raised my Billys saw and waited. Eventually hes gonna move and get sawed, or stay put and die from the entity...

  • @ImmortalReaver said:

  • @Huff said:

I was just tossing an idea around in my head a few hours ago but I didn't know if it was worth making my own post about it, but this one seems appropriate enough to mention it.

I was thinking about a couple things: lots of killers complaining about no hard early game slow now with ruin gone (even though corrupt intervention exists), and the topic of totems (with some people bringing up that ruin shouldn't be a hex perk to begin with.) It just kind of came to me that, if people want early game slowing, and right now with how dull totems don't really do anything, it might be a good idea to give any totem that remains up a small percentage slow to generators (perhaps 3, 4, 5% each.) This would do a few things:

-Give survivors another reason to work on something other than the primary objective, generators

-Provide the early breathing room killers seem to need so desperately

-Help bring totem-related/affecting perks into the limelight (thrill of the hunt, detective's hunch, small game, etc.)

-Simply help totems be more relevant by letting them provide pressure, and give survivors a reason to actually work on dull ones other than "just in case of NOED"

Again I've only thought of this a little bit recently, but it seemed like a relatively simple change that would shake things up in a fair enough way for either side. Obviously survivors would be sort of losing something here more so than the killer, but I also am going off the assumption that the changes to ruin are going to be going live, so it wouldn't be as bad if the killer would be losing one of their most popular perks as well.

Just thought it was an idea worth sharing. Maybe it's been thought up already (probably) but feel free to add to or criticize it.

That WOULD also be a sort of "totem counter" for solo survivors. You might not know how many totems are left, but youd know theres still totems up so NOED wont feel like its come out of left field. Not a bad idea.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Survivors found frustrating to play vs killers with perks so we decided to remove all perks for killers and raise number of perk slots for survivors to 6 so they will not be "frustrated". This "balance" patch will make game more comfortable for new and present survivors and much easier to achieve 4 escapes with teabegging in gate.

  • Completely forgot rank reset was today, so pretty sure I reset from rank 4 to...5, lol.

  • @GoddamnBananas said:

They should remove the ranking/pip system that we can see, and just keep it as an invisible matchmaker. They don't even have to change how it works, just make it more precise, and stop us from seeing it. Plenty of other games have an invisible MMR, after all. That way people can stop being toxic about rank, and actually play the game *gasp* for fun, but some poor rank 20 trying out Nurse won't get thrown against top tier sweatlords.

That would be fine in theory, but as it stands...matchmaking has been busted for several months now. Making the ranks invisible isnt gonna fix that.

    20191025083110_1.jpg

Another problem would be that even if you dont SHOW ppl the pipping system, it would still be there. If I demolish a team in record time, my rank (whether visible or not) should go up instead of placing me against the same ranked group the very next game.

    20190713042835_1.jpg 20191128150219_1.jpg 20191207214146_1.jpg

These are all examples of such matches. I demolished these teams and the game is telling me that I should go against those same difficulty teams the next game too instead of tougher opponents. For some reason, the game's pipping system is harsher on some killers than others. I could easily pip as Legion by just running around the map and stabbing ppl repeatedly. They cant do gens fast if theyre mending, and Im getting points in malicious and chaser REALLY fast. 4 Ppl escaped still, but I'll pip up. Other killers like Trapper, Plague, Bubba or Billy though... you use your power to down ppl, and the game doesnt see that as a good thing. If a survivor steps in Trapper's trap and he comes and plucks them up...he gets 0 chaser points for that. If you pull someone out of a locker...0 chaser points.

  • That would affect more than just new players. Even experienced players would be affected if their teammates arnt good enough. In DBD, the most dangerous thing on the map is very rarely the killer, lol. Its the guy unhooking you without BT while Bubba is following him revving his chainsaw.

Old Freddy barely got to endgame for me. Best stall in the game until his rework

One thing I thought was funny. OG Freddy had a base slowdown of 50%, which could be increased with addons. Reworked Freddy had no slowdown and abit from some addons... Ppl were completely fine waking up against OG Freddy to get rid of the slow, but reworked Freddy...How do we counter this?

I know, but you cannot tell if they actually crashed or simply pulled the plug.

Regarding Suiciding: Nothing can be done about that. And this is why the DC penalty is quite meaningless, of course a Killer is fine with a Survivor killing themselves, they get a bunch of points and their BBQ Stack. But as Survivor, for me there is no difference if that guy kills himself or DCs.

As Survivor it does also not make a difference if the Killer who gets Haddonfield DCs or simply decides to stand in a corner, facing the Wall.

Regarding the whole DC vs suicide thing...

    20191006120145_1.jpg 20191031125723_1.jpg 20191029214059_1.jpg

Teams like this who DCed within 15 seconds of the game starting would be likely to find me to suicide. Thats what I was referring to when I said...they can crawl for awhile.

At least as far as other survivors go though, its nice at LEAST having the time it takes for the killer to hook someone to get away, as opposed to the Billy who WAS just carrying someone to all of a sudden turn and chainsaw after YOU cuz the meg he was carrying disappeared. You're right though about pulling the plug vs actual crash. From my experiences, I dont run into very many "crashes" that just happen to take place when someone just happens to be in a bad situation.

  • @Hag.is.Dtier said:

Imagine crying over a perk that has 7 counters.

I'm pretty use to it. I use to run NOED on my OG Freddy build when he had to wait 7 seconds to hit someone. The fact that adrenaline would wake ppl up when the last gen was popped made me want to have SOMETHING in my favor in endgame when someone is awake and opening the gates, lol. The amount of ppl that would call my a baby killer for crutching on NOED was laughable, expecially when they all would die before the gens were finished and NOED had never activated.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I dont get that many DCs, the DCs I got yesterday were almost all Crashes. (1 while playing Killer, two while playing Survivor). This of course only when they did not pull the cable, but one guy was healing me, so I doubt he decided to drop out at exactly that point.

Thing is, the DC penalty should not be implemented as long as the game is broken. You may end up being stuck or HAVE to DC because of a Bug. Or you simply crash in Loading Screen. It would be really bad if you get punished for the game having problems.

You can generally tell the difference between someone who pushed the button and someone who crashed/pulled the plug by the sound effect that follows. If theres a sound effect, they pushed the button. The reasons you stated, such as crashing in loading screen and such is actually the very reasons they HAVEN'T implemented the changes yet. I DO see rage quitters fairly frequently, so would be nice to have something done about that. If screws over the team when someone nopes out. Ive had survivors disappear from my arms and screw over nearby teammates who wouldve gotten alot more of a head start if I had finished walking to a hook.

As far as the suicide on hook thing... Frankly, if a survivor FINDS me so they can die as soon as the game starts because they dont like the killer/map/whatever... I'll leave em slugged. They can either have their time wasted on the ground or have their time wasted waiting for a DC timeout.

  • @Broccoli_Jaeger said:

They can't do something about DC's because it's an easy way out of the match for the survivors. It's the only thing they can do if a killer is OP. And when the Devs remove it, all the baby survivor mains are going to cry.

    @ChunChunMaru said:

Honestly, I know the devs are trying to keep as many players in the community, but they have to be ok with cutting off the toxic/dc players. The community would be so much healthier as a whole.

Just think of it this way. The more salty people who DC because they got found first that have to wait for their timer to end... the faster queue times for everyone else..

  • I DID say unconditionally. DS DOES have a condition in which it only works for a 60 second span after being unhooked. While I know thats a long time in a match and gets abused all the time... its still a condition.
