Hmmm the people who see their skin the entire match, or the people whose opponents see the skin, garsh that's surprising! /s
As far as tunnels, I think this is based on intent. If the Bubba is autopiloting towards the closest Survivor, that's fine, but when he purposely slugs the person bodyblocking to get the tunnel on the other person, that is what people mean by 'sweaty'.
For 'playing fair', the game is designed around a 60% kill rate, so the game is Killer sided definitionally. Same with the perks, the Survivor perks are designed to have 1/4th the impact of Killer perks. I mean are you going to seriously make the argument that 16 No Mithers would be more powerful than 4 random Killer perks, simply because they have 4x the perks? There has to be a calculation involved in perk strength, and you just ignored that.
At least you did learn your lesson and uninstall. I'm foolish enough to still play this game on occasion with friends, and am often miserable as a result.
The game is designed to have a 60% kill rate, yes. However the devs decided it would be best to nerf gen regression perks. As a killer you need to be able to juggle yet a lot of maps tend to be RNG for killers. If it's a map that goes against your power, then you're probably lucky to even get 1 kill. There are killers I love(d) to play as and they just seem too weak now. Survivors got a base borrowed time. And killers got a base….what? Survivors pretty much have 4 perks and a slightly less time of borrowed time. Kicking gens isn't really worth it since it's 4 seconds to remove 1 second of the progress. Most survivors are smart enough to just have one go touch it while you spend time chasing another person. Eventually the only logical option is to slug and tunnel. That's not exactly fun for either side that's meant to be a party style game.
-
Have you seen what most of the cosmetics are catered to? Survivors. They're either lonely guys who love cute outfits on girls or people who play survivor for the "thrill" and flashy clothes. Of course the devolopers will make gameplay easier on survivors. If a killer tunnels they they're being "sweaty." It's not sweat. Y'all can run around and do what you want. Playing fair? It's a 4v1. 8v2 was a joke with limited killers available and perks. Survivors have 16 perks they can use compared to a killer with 4. Make it more balanced and let killers have the ability to use half of that. It's a stupid game that just needs to die. I uninstalled, done with this game. Let the survivors laugh and say "get good."
-
So, do you want old survivor perks how they used to be? Being able to heal with self care before killer could hit you again?
Anti loop and killers with movement speed are going to be top tier because SBMM makes it miserable to play against survivors who are able to do everything at once. If you can't get weak survivor to get a quick kill, Then yeah, buff killers. It's not like killers can insta down survivors without working towards that ability.
-
So, reality is survivors aren't really going to want to use a perk that is pretty good imo for the movement speed, you can def get a killer to whiff on you from it as well; because they have a second chance perk like dead hard. Lithe is just a sprint burst whenever you want it.

You can argue it, but the DH iframes and hit validation can be frustrating. The DH for distance is the most frustrating thing about the perk imo.
DH is annoying when you don't even see the DH but they still make the sound as if you downed them. Same with the new pallet validations. But DH is just their best second chance perk
-
LIthe is a good perk and under used. But they're probably never going to nerf dead hard because why would they? Most exhaustion perks are just second chance perks for survivors.
-
You know, I used to be able to get 3-4ks playing fairly. Then they readded the MMR. I couldn't play fairly anymore. Doesn't mean I proxy camp or camp hooks. But the fact games almost always end within 5 minutes or so because I chase one survivor and by the time I down them 3 gens go by.
Should survivors only do 1 gen per hook? Do you care about getting all the gens done by the time the killer kills one person? No. So let it be. Can't cherry pick of having fun for yourself but not care about the other person having fun.

I play killer a lot, no need to explain me what it is like.
Maybe the tunneling playstyle boosted your skill and now you are facing survivors who are way above your skill level if you try to play in a non-tunneling way.
Obviously you don't know what it's like lol. You're trying to give survivors a huge boost cause you got farmed. Sorry but me not tunneling or camping is what caused my MMR to go that high.

If you don't tunnel the unhooked guy, it will not waste your time.
Or if you down the unhooked survivor just don't pick it up. They will waste a lot of time on the ground... A DS would insta heal them and stun you.
Lmao what. You have 60 seconds of immortality with DS basically. You're saying they should be able to get an instant heal and a stun? You can hide in a locker and basically get a free DS strike. You're just saying survivors should be god tier while as killer you're going against 16 perks with only 4 perks. Be rational here

Ok so at red rank 2 (second to highest rank you can get) to get there I mostly 3 and 4k'ed with Pig, Trapper and Myers which are my killers to pip so does that mean my MMR is high with these killers only? It sucks because theres no real way to tell that your at a high MMR then. I play like 12 killers but use 4 or 5 to pip and get kills with, is that it?
Basically you'll know what MMR you're at based on how well the survivors are doing. If you're getting bullied then you've basically hit around max MMR
-
@Trwth said:
Plague. If I could vote again: Huntress. Both of their add-on passes felt incomplete without chase music.
I'd love for them to actually fix plague and or just give her a rework. The add on changes were kind of hot garbage
-
So the way to get to red rank is pip'ing. But high MMR does not equal your rank. I'll give an example of this.
Out of all of my killers, I probably have the most time on Plague. Before they reimplemented the new SBMM I would get 3-4k every game. Now with the new SBMM (skill based match making) I'm lucky if I even get one kill. Keep in mind I was ash rank going against people that most likely play the game at the tournaments. So, if I swap to a different killer, one I have almost no play time on, blood them and so on get them to what I want it as, I could go into an iri game and curb stomp survivors. The ranking system doesn't mean anything to the MMR. For killers they look at your kills per game for each individual killer. Survivor is just for all survivors.
-
Crapfest 2021
-
Survivors need DS base-kit? Then killers should get NOED base kit. Hate to break it to you, but the other guy basically farmed you. In that situation the killer is going to take advantage of it. DS is just one get out of jail free card, just like dead hard. It's not even an anti tunnel perk it's just an annoying thing to waste time in the game.
-
@fogdonkey said:
To all the killers who say tunneling is a strategy and often a must: maybe then you should face weaker survivors who you are able to defeat without tunneling. Didn't you think about that?
SBMM prevents that you know. Do about 20-30 killer games then get the SBMM in and you'll just get survivors who know how to run you for 2-3 gens. If you break chase for another they'll run you for more gens. And guess what? They'll hold the game hostage. Until you just force them out.

" In the new system I am grade Gold I." This is nothing to do with anything.
Anyway, I'm not sure what to tell you. Get better? If you are losing WAY more than you are winning then you just need to get better. If you find yourself being the one tunneled most games that could mean that you are weak in chases and the Killer takes the free kill for a 3v1, which is much more in their favor.
Lmao. It's kind of difficult to find one "weak" person in chases with the new SBMM. Literally every survivor is on their A game when once they decide your SBMM is high on a certain killer. It's absolutely funny that they think this is balanced. You chase one survivor for a bit, see it isn't worth it. Break off to chase someone else. Same thing. So you basically go after one person and then 2-3 gens pop before a single hook.
-
Honestly, boon totems should act like Hex Totems. Should take a bit of time to break but once broken it's gone. Let their boon randomly spawn on the map.
It's honestly weird to me. Hex totems can be broken and perma gone from the game. Meanwhile, sure boon totems take time to set up, but they can basically make it to where they heal almost to original self care speeds. Shadow step is just annoying.
-
I honestly would love to see an original killer come out at some point again this year. I feel as if all the licensed killers have been pretty bad with the exception of Myers and Pig on release. Which had to have been changed and nerfed as other licensed killers have been changed in some way or form. But everything after those two seemed to have been pretty bad overall. Then again can't really say much since they have x amount of time to complete them.
Then again, Pyramid head was a pretty good licensed killer. I rather see more original content than from another franchise.

No, you can't just unfocus on the bad parts of rubbishraiser because the entire thing is bad unlike Candyman. Anyone who disagrees with me is clearly a biased Hellraiser fan here. Look at the ratings & tell me I'm wrong.
Ah. So you only care about ratings from other people? I enjoy both movies franchises but you can't tell me Candy man 2-3 were very subpar to the original one. Even though clearly Hellraiser 2-3 still did better than Candyman. It's perfectly fine to have your own personal preferences, but at least stick to what you say. For the love of the entity, take off your bias glasses.

I feel like you were focusing on the bad parts of Candyman, which is why you didn't like it. If you ignore those parts of the movie you'll enjoy it.
You tell someone that but you're focusing on how bad Hellraiser is? I enjoy both movies, but you my friend are coming across as overly bias.
-
Sure, that would've been cool looking. But it really comes down to backstories. I like the concept and how they made him look. Maybe they'll give him a skin to look like that in a way.
-
I'm pretty sure he's a 110% movement speed killer, which really is not that bad. I'm not really sure as to how people assume Plague is a terrible killer, she has great snowball potentials, and I have the feeling this killer will as well. Looking at the PTB isn't a good way on how to gauge a killer's skills. Let's not all forget deathslinger when he came out on the PTB and everyone said he was a weaker huntress.
All in all, every killer has a different strength and weakness, I don't think people should be judging this new one or say "he's a trash killer because x reasons." I have faith, and I love playing Plague, this killer gives me the same vibes, so I'm naturally going to learn how to curb stomp with him.

Undying ruin needed a change. Now it's undying devour which is equally annoying and just as bad. But that's my opinion
-
@MadLordJack said:
And what about the people that do play killer and still call out BS?
Because people still think killers and survivors have a huge divide. It's just the people that're self conceded what they main that gets annoying. Iri head with a belt is stupid. I honestly think they should change it to where it has to be fully charged and be at a certain range to do a one shot down. Like death slinger's iri add on
-
I'm guessing you use iri huntress with the belt because you miss most of your shots and you finally land one and think "I deserve this." People using iri huntress here and there without the belt I don't have a problem with. This would be like me going into a game using black incense as plague. I'm sorry, but it's not a fun time for the other side.
A LOT of killer mains don't like iri huntress. It's honestly infuriating to go against especially if the huntress has BBQ and can do it across the map.
Now they're planning on nerfing DS and OoO? I don't quiet agree with the DS nerf. But I do think OoO should be changed to where only one survivor who's the obsession should be able to use it. And UNTIL they fix the hit boxes, I honestly don't think anyone should get punished for DC'ing against an Iri head/belt huntress. It seems you need to get good and learn to not use it.

Dodging because they're all using the same outfits? Just power through it. Get some confidence in your ability as killer

Deranking is just bannable if you basically keep making yourself derank on purpose. And that's hard to prove. Sorry for your luck on killers, but that's just how some of them want to play so they rank up. I just play Plague and that's hard enough to get pips as is

Honestly, I just wish I knew how much of a grind it could've been. I don't mind it but I def feel like it's a big turn off for newer players having to go against killers or survivors with superior perks.

Yes I agree with you. But every game tonight I had was like that. Didn’t even give a chance to get off the hook, downs me and puts me on the hook again. I’m not a tbagger, or flashlighter, I don’t bring keys. Idk, maybe they just want to get one person killed right away
I usually see killers acting this way around rank reset. I don't know why, it's stupid. I haven't really been seeing survivors run DS lately, which is weird but probably cause of a possible up coming nerf. Then again, I'm still waiting for the devs to change NOED.
-
Bait. But yes, killers are like that, not all of them. Just like every survivor doesn't act like they're the best by t-bagging at every loop or pallet they waste

-Trapper needs some QoL with his traps, making logwood dye and the yellow bag would be a good start
-Wraith's power is pretty good to me IMO, but making windstorm yellow would make him in a better spot
-Plague needs some sort of nerf to her corrupt purge. As someone who plays exclusively killer I think her power is way too strong against people that aren't on next-level levels of coordination.
-Legion needs a complete rework. Something involving being able to swap between members. What this would achieve or how it'd be balanced would be left up to debate, but now that the Twins are a thing we know it's 100% feasible.
-Pig is in a good spot right now IMO, but some QoL would be nice. More crouching speed, quieter roar, maybe some sort of mechanic that makes searching jigsaw boxes more difficult (among us-esque tasks immediately come to mind).
-Nurse is still good but more care needs to be given regarding dead zones and more bugs with her.
-Freddy needs a nerf. Not in terms of actual power but he needs to be more difficult somehow.
I'd have to disagree with the Plague nerf. The problem is most people don't know how to play against her because not a lot of people play her. I main Plague and she's the first and possibly only killer I'll P3. She's balanced to where you know when she has the secondary power. You can hear her picking it up. And you can pallet stun her out of it. Black incense could use changes.
I can agree with everything else here.
-
Honestly. I think it should be changed so it's deactivated once you go into a locker. Imagine just jumping into a locker, using DS, going back in and then using head on. I don't even get why survivors say "it's a anti tunneling perk" no, it's a second chance perk like most survivor perks.

A lot.

Not so much Oni lol. I also play a buttload of Survivor. I'm against all imbalances and feel they should all be removed for the health, well being and future of our game. I'd like to think that is what most of us want.
So, let's fix how grabbing a survivor that clearly shows the animation but doesn't go through fix. It still shouldn't let you wiggle out as soon as the hook animation is going in. All I'm saying
-
At the point you probably reached 100%, the killer already started the animation to hook you. Are you saying they should cancel that out so they can get out, stun the kill for enough time to get away and restart the entire process?
-
Probably I hate playing spirit the most. She feels very boring imo.
-
Gen speeds are but also are not a problem. I don't really care too much about losing 1-2 gens that quickly. Once there are less gens in the game it becomes easier for downs and hooks due to them having more dead zones.
That being said, killers do have an array to slow down gen progression with perks or slugging. What you seem to miss in the video is the only "gen slow down" perk he had was corrupt intervention. Ardetha very rarely uses anti gen perks because he would do a lot of competitive games where the killers couldn't use slow down perks. If you're not going to use a slow down perk on most M1 killers then be prepared to get 1-2 kills in a match in red ranks

Let me just waste time running to the farthest possible clock to wake myself up or look for an awake survivor somewhere in the map or just fail a skill check & give away my location. Not to mention getting out of sleep only lasts 60 seconds, then you're back in it. Oh what's that? Freddy is using the addon that prevents waking up from missed skill checks? Now I'm basically torn between doing the objective while asleep or wasting time running around the map to stay awake. His passive sleep mechanic might need some looking into now that you mention it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1318930#Comment_1318930
Honestly the best thing to do against Freddy is be immersed. But once you're in chase with him what else can you do? If you don't loop then you're just running around mindlessly & dropping every pallet you get to immediately...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1321280#Comment_1321280
If those 2 were comparable to Freddy, why aren't their kill rates as high as his? Granted they also make good use of Pop & BBQ, but they kinda need it compared to Freddy because they have actual counterplay.
You can call it a waste if you want to. But that's the best counter play to Freddy. Stay asleep for 30-50 seconds or until you do a gen and wake yourself up. You're guaranteed an escape as long as everyone doesn't 3 gen themselves

That's a FAT No. No killer under any circumstance should require 4man SWF to having a chance at winning. Freddy fits this criteria and needs his teleports greatly nerfed because certain perks makes him OVERPOWERED!
Certain perks makes him OP. Doc Carter has some advice for you guys who think Freddy is OP. He was good at the beginning, then he got nerfed and nobody played him as much. And then they decided to give him a rework which was a buff. Then they nerfed the slow down add ons (which was needed.) But the funnier thing here is Freddy doesn't need a SWF to win against. If the solo players know how not to waste early game time healing and would work on gens instead then he's not going to do as well. Not only that but if people would use the wake up mechanic more, then he's just an M1 killer. His power recovers faster with each person in the dream state. Do you know how slow it takes when people keep waking up? He's a solid killer and anyone who plays a killer well enough then they're most likely not going to survive with a SWF.

I just find him boring because every Freddy I go against is the exact same. Others in this thread have their own grievances, but why I made this post to begin with is because every Freddy is just using an ultra gen protection build majority of the time. As a solo survivor, my win rate against him is abysmal because other solo survivors don't know how to just do an objective. He is balanced around handling SWF groups, which is fine & necessary most of the time. But in my case as a solo survivor, he becomes aggressively strong because solo survivors can't coordinate like SWF
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1317277#Comment_1317277
Yes. At least for me. Freddy is one of the most common killers I go up against & it is always relatively the same build. Pop & BBQ are an almost guarentee. Generally they have at least 1 slow down addon (I do see double slow down addons quite a bit too btw). The other 2 perks of theirs usually also aid in slowing down gens (or Sloppy Butcher to slow down healing, which in itself results in slower gen progress). And being that I play solo survivor, it makes playing against him much worse when I can hardly rely on my teammates.
I mean, BBQ is a good perk on Freddy. I just use brutal strength, pop, bbq and save the best for last. With nancy's master piece and the jump rope. But you're complaining about a killer being able to use a lot of pressure in the game. If you can't deal with Freddy as a solo player then start playing with friends. I went against a good SWF once as Freddy and two escaped because they were confident in their skills enough to not worry about healing early on in the game. You can't expect easy wins against all the killers
-
I generally play killer but got into red ranks as survivor somehow. However, playing against killers that aren't very good make the game a bit dull to my perspective. So I rather hop on killer, torment some survivors (the cocky ones.) I went against a rank 4 huntress who got two kills cause people were being overly altruistic and didn't know how to fake unhook.
I think the problem is how they think using second change perks right off the bat makes them godly. Had a game where a Kate used unbreakable on shack pallet and then used it to stun me. Good job, you wasted a second chance perk and a great pallet with 4 gens left.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1314627#Comment_1314627
That is why I put nerf in quotation marks. I don't think he needs a nerf as a killer, but something needs to changing to shake up his meta. Every Freddy I go against in the same & it's why I am getting annoyed when I go up against him.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1314480#Comment_1314480
I'm just voicing my thoughts on why Freddy comes off as boring for me. I know that most survivors are boring as well, running the same meta perk builds most of the time. Just because I'm talking about Freddy in this post doesn't mean I think survivors are fine. Honestly, all the super meta perks need looking into.
And what freddy is always the same? Using ultra slow freddy?
-
His lunge is basically the average lunge. It seems longer but it's basically the same. Also, he's not super OP. A killer that has good gen pressure shouldn't be "nerfed." If they nerf killers just because of the gen pressure they can apply, then there'd be even less people playing killer. After that they'll start nerfing survivor gen speeds to where it'll be an endless loop
-
People are already complaining that Pyramid head is going to get nerfed? Sorry, but it's PTB and everything is subject to change. He's going to be a good killer on his own despite if you use range attacks or not.
He has a good way of just putting someone into a cage and saving time. Even if you don't use it, if they're dead on next hook and are tormented, you can just kill them there.
His perks aren't that great in my personal opinion, but that comes down to someone's play style. Saying the game is heavily bias to one side or another is petty. Red ranks killers dominate most of the time and that's where they get the nerfs and balance changes is by looking at the higher ranks than lower ranks.
Pyramid is going to be an amazing killer. Once again, it's PTB, and if they see that he's not doing as well after PTB it comes down to numbers and see what will be adjusted. Did the same thing with Oni. he was super strong but they nerfed his flick. After a few weeks they adjusted the flick back in but it wasn't like PTB flick.
-
Killers in low ranks are a lot more easy to bully than a red rank killer. But, the thing is, I've played killer in yellow ranks, still got purple and low red ranks. It comes down to how much you're willing to learn. If you don't want to put the time into being a better killer, then why even talk about the game dying out? It's not going to because there are people out there that actually want to roflstomp survivors.
-
So I've reached red ranks once again. And the thing I notice is that they'll get really good early gens done and die within 2-3 gens being completed.
Best way I can think of to fix the gen speeds is to make them go in regular speeds with the first 25-40% and then progressively slow it down more or have it the opposite, slow within the first 30-40% and then let it progressively speed up.
I've also seen killers complain about "gen rushing." Which, I don't really see as a such thing as gen rushing, just bad pressure. I think gen speeds are okay because killers need to learn when to leave chase to pressure gens. I had a game as survivor where we put in 3-4 gens before the killer got a single down. That's just bad pressure. Surprise surprise that he had NOED which only secured him a single kill.
-
People still complaining about camping? Once again, by the time it takes for you to die on first hook is about 3 gens being done. For the killer to get 2 kills all gens would be completed. Even at that point they're still deranking. I'm curious as to what rank you are that you're still getting face camped.

Honestly it's only 30 seconds. And I'm so sick of seeing pop that if pop users genuinely think this counters their perk so they use a different one, I'm all for it.
It does counter pop along with any gen regression perk. Imagine hooking a survivor, getting to a gen and having to wait 30 seconds along with whatever time it took you to take there. And then you'd have to go look for another gen.

Yeah :/ half the forum posts are people complaining right now. Imagine being a dev and being so proud to show your work and this is how it's treated. Awful community sometimes.
I was expecting something like Pyramid head. WHICH when they said that it was going to be him I got super excited. The way they made the map look was amazing. And it's pretty big indoor outdoor map. What makes it nicer is that I can see it pretty 50/50 on both sides. Gens are a bit too close imo but it's a bit understandable.
