Ouch. Hope you can keep them away from the next one, if indeed you don't give up and accept a physical-keyboardless lifestyle
Just looked it up on youtube how to fix it and managed to get back 80% functionality. Sadly it'll never feel the same again and I have to backspace every other word which is giving me wrist ache so I'm going to inevitably replace it again maybe with a cheap one because omg. lol
Also my fullstop and < > keys are boned too lol
Looks like Surivors are safe from being picked up for the time being.

If you needed ds to play then you shouldn't of had it in the first place :)
Not that I ever really used DS much because it's just a bad perk. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. I mean it rewards failure. Survivors who used it at a crutch have been done a HUGE favour with this nerf.
Now they can move past the DS dependency freeing up that perk slot for far better, stronger builds requiring a much higher skill ceiling than hitting a medium skill check after having failed to evade the Killer.
-
HEY I KNOW! lets put a positive constructive spin on yet another thread defending noed with the straw man /do bones meme! =D
I bring a Violet map and Small Game frequently just for that ultra rare instance when the planets align and I manage to find all the bones (5 of them) and any extra hex totems there may be and cleanse them all before the 5th gen pops vs a Killer with Noed (this has happened twice in 5 years)
By the time I cleanse everything I've either de-pipped or black pipped because there wasn't enough time to do ANYTHING else because everyone else is either dead or the gates are open and EGC has started.
Also . . . If we actually had a Totem counter like we have for other match objectives such as the Gen and Hook counter Bones might actually be done more often.
Also a bp and pip point boost for people doing bones couldn't hurt because right now what's the incentive when everything else is more rewarding.
-
Yeah I have absolutely zero interest in anything that red ranks have to offer. Looks awful for both sides.
Doubtful anyone had fun in that match either. All too focused on squeezing as much sweat out as possible lol.
-
What really annoys me is when a Survivor camps the hook and tries to 'rescue' me the instant I'm hooked - and they do this WITHOUT Borrowed Time
Reasons why hook suicide is a thing.
And reasons why being able to /kick another Survivor away from you when they try an unsafe unhook -should- be a thing.
-
Maybe make it so if you hook more than 1 Survivor within the DS timer, the first Survivor who was hooked loses DS activation status as essentially they haven't been tunneled as another Survivor has been downed and hooked since they had been..
-
It's something when fish doesn't even bother to show up.
-
Thing that pisses me off is there is no way to differentiate between:
- Network problems on BEHAVIOURS end
- Internet connectivity
- Rage quitting
We are punished equally for all three even though two of them are not our fault, one of which is entirely behaviours fault.
Baby cosmetic would go some way to resolving this unresolvable issue I guess?
-
There isn't; enough incentive to 'do bones' that's why they never get done. I've maybe seen 2 matches in 4 years that have had Noed fall out from under the killer before it's activated because all the bones where done before it popped.
Some matches I take a pink map and small game and end up spending the entire match JUST looking for bones and at the end of the match 9 times out of 10 I haven't been able to find the last totem and Noed either pops or it doesn't depending on weather it was taken by the Killer or not.
Having 'done bones' all match and NOTHING ELSE because I didn't have time to I'll end up with 5-10k bp max
The reward for dedicating the entire match to doing bones needs to be vastly increased so EVERYONE does it and it's not all put onto one Survivors shoulders. I'm talking 10k bp each dull totem you find that stacks over and above the match bp limit. 15k bp for hex totems.
There also needs to be a totem counter much like the gen counter because all the totems could be done and you could be running around wasting time that could be spent unhooking / mending / juking etc

Bad sportsmanship is universally frowned upon and not accepted in any way shape or form with any sport?

Casual console player here just levelling up killers , I tend to find matches and go ahead with the ones that seem not so toxic. Anyone here so the same ?
How many times you all have to back out and search for a new match before playing an actual match ?
If I see more than 2 flashlights I am out , also same goes for more than 1 or 2 toolbox I am out ( unless I am in the mood of using franklin demise) If I see then all ready up right away I am out...similar names I am out, all same characters I am out . Anyone here as picky as I am ? Lol
This is the correct solution in all situations described:

"as a SURVIVOR main, here's why killers AREN'T BROKEN"
"as a KILLER main, here's why survivors ARE BROKEN"
"as a KILLER main, here's why survivors AREN'T BROKEN"
It all just becomes so arbitrary
"As a former paying member of dbd that used to fund the revenue stream that keeps the game alive by allowing it to be updated with new content - The toxic atmosphere generated by the community IS BROKEN and is detrimental to the health, well being and future of your own game"
There I think that one works.
-
Huntress, because every -multiplayer- game needs an easy-mode, hand-held, babied crutch option.
Oh wait, no that's just -single- player games. Putting an easy-mode hand-holding option into a -multiplayer- game just kills the game.
Silly me for not making that blindingly obvious connection instantly.
Some people just need training wheels I guess. Quite sad really.
-
Every now and then the game has network stability issues out of our control and drops out at any given moment, Getting DC penalties for a problem from something that has not only NOT been caused by me but something caused by behaviour annoys the hell out of me.
-
The nerf hammer's coming down hard on Spirit so I wouldn't feel too bad.
-
It's undeniable that some Killers are better at their job than others and all Survivors are just skins of the exact same gameplay style except for model size, shape and colour and sound capacity for varying degrees of stealth ability.
-
Get your electron microscope out and look for the pixels that change colour when she's going into phase mode
-
And once all the DS scrublords have their crutch nerfed they'll realize that a slew of other perks are actually better than DS then we'll have a whole new catagory of stuff to complain about.
-
Its all a part of behaviours grand master plan to ensure every bubba who ever clicks on 'Ready' is consistently the exact same brand of sweaty sack of crutch meat required to fit with the lore of bubba.

I usually keep my encounters short and sweet. They end up commenting on my steam profile then lol. Getting the last word in and leaving is also very effective. You don't even have to try hard coming up with a clever response since they will be set off by anything.
For example, "you're actually *** and I hope you tub youre toe"
response: "gg"
A stupidly easy and simple response like that actually works because I say nothing afterwards so they think I left (as killer in the end game chat) and just read what they say.
"Getting the last word in and leaving" I like that.
I mean sure you won't know what they say but in a very existential way, the instant you leave the lobby they literally cease to exist. Much like something in the far off reaches of the universe which we have never seen before to our minds eye does not or has not ever existed.
So by that reasoning, just by not being there anything they might have said may as well have never been said at all.
Very zen, lol.

@Yords said:
What are some of the saltiest and funniest end game chats from upset players? And what was the player's reasoning?
"Play a killer that actually takes skill to play dumbduck"
I was playing huntress.
Just 'don't feed the trolls' and your all good I've found
Seriously, not responding to these 'people' is the ABSOLUTE WORST THING you can do to them. Pisses them off no end lol.
Your response to them is the very sustenance they feed on before they crawl back in to their rotting human skin suit and awkwardly stilt about in a shambolic, woefully inadequate attempt at human likeness, desperately pretending not to be a poorly programmed alien robot npc spider with the most basic of dialogue macro options (and failing miserably in the process).

When you have someone with nurse you run the normal speed
Really? good to know. I hadn't noticed. Must just be bad luck lol. That and I don't really enjoy playing anything else other than the occasional Legion.
-
I've pressed Space and Shift on my keyboard so much over the last 7 years (yes its lasted at least 7 years) that both keys microswitches just gave up and died two days ago.
That damage is attributed to over 5k hours on Eternal Crusade and 2500 hours on dbd.
lol.
But yeah when I'm faced with toxic survivors I just go stand in the corner of the basement in front of the chest so they cant open it looking down so they cant blind me from the sides.
Most they'll get is 10-13k bp from that. they get nothing from me.
-
On the slowest killer in game (Nurse) I can get the Survivor to a hook most of the time. Maybe one out of every 10 matches theres 1 hook I cant get too because its too far away and I'm too slow.
This makes it an almost absolute guaranteed fact that on any other killer I'll always be able to get that Survivor to a hook.
Any less hooks and Nurse would become non viable.
Maybe less hooks for fast killers. Maybe one or two more hooks for Nurse. All other killers aren't effected by the current hook numbers.
-
It'd be as if Legion and PH were the same killer.
-
Well then don't cheat by using un-policeable external programs that give you an unfair advantage which where never designed, built, intended for or balanced into the game.
My heart bleeds. All cheaters deserve and eventually get what's coming to them.
-
Ash = Pay 2 Lose
You only buy him if your a fan of his lore.
Even then its the new Ash, not the one from the 80's
-
Some killers have a high skill ceiling.
Others have a low skill floor.
Guess which one Bubba comes under XD
-
My time is simply too valuable to grind the required quarter of a year to complete the rift.
So I simply bought an auric cell buffer to pile in as many rift notches as I deem acceptable so I can actually have a life.

Because Borrowed Time exists.
And a slew of other perks to juke a face camper

Reasons why console players need to be restricted to their own matches. Seriously why auto aim assist is even a thing in a 'skill' based game is beyond me.
Using auto aim assist to bridge the skill ceiling gap between controllers and keyboard / mouse just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

fun game
Yup, stand in a corner preferably blocking a chest, look down (to avoid flashlight blind farming) then /afk for beer.
Match ends, the trolls de-pip with minimal bp so they all lose.
I then come back, queue up and hope next match is better.
-
Myres with 0% terror radius and a Survivor repairing a generator right on the other side is probably the only time breakable walls are any fun just for their reaction
-
You only get a couple of free shots at face rolling easy brown rank matches before your forever outcast to the empty lobby simulator that is red rank I'm afraid.
It's better that way, it allows for new revenue streams to grow from new players joining the game.

I've been playing nurse recently, I'm new and on console. Yet everytime I play her I'm thrown in rank one lobbies even though I'm green ranks. Of course I'm bullied, and teabagged the whole ######### time. The perk line ups are always BT,DH,DS,Iron Will. Like what the hell are you getting out of even playing the game like this you childish asshats.
Some people are just born neurologically defective sociopaths? It's not their fault so I wouldn't blame them. It's more the millions of years of faulty genetics that went in to stitching together their sad little egos. If anything I'd feel sorry for them and move on.
Also it takes a good solid month of playing NOTHING but Nurse to even begin to understand the highly nuanced multi-faceted strategizing and muscle memory required to even do remotely well as Sally.
Oh and if you decide to take a break from her? Don't. Trust me just don't. I took a months break and it took me another month of derping about just to get back into her lol.
Stick at it, she is the most fun you'll ever have in dbd once that switch clicks into place XD
My main problem with her however is what to wear! I mean seriously she has the most amazing wardrobe. EVERYTHING looks good on her lol.

Hey everyone. I'm Gatsby and I play at Rank 1 on Survivor. I decided to test the new MMR by keeping track of my first five games on the new matchmaking.
Game 1 - Four Escaped. Mother's Dwelling. Killer and one of the Survivors were drastically lower skill.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BLIXSDMMFC9S/3-18-game-1.png
Game 2 - Three Escaped. Dead Dawg Saloon. All Red Ranks aside from one Survivor, who was killed.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PCX2CCJDI97I/3-18-game-2.png
Game 3 - Four Escaped. Father Campbell's Chapel. Killer was lower skill.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K7MRMT732GTT/3-18-game-3.png
Game 4 - Four Killed. Ormond. Ranks were well matched.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JNWOX9PEB8EK/3-18-game-4.png
Game 5 - Three Escaped. Dead Dawg. One Survivor was lower skill (and camped). Killer was doing an Adept.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NX0P3C9YSEHU/3-18-game-5.png
Conclusions- The matchmaking seems to be just missing the mark. Almost every game was close to being balanced with one to two players being out of place. It's a common thread throughout all the games, so it seems like the MMR is purposely adding in weak players to high lobbies, not sure why.
They're adding in lower ranked players to high ranked lobbies because high ranked players don't want to play an empty lobby simulator.
So lower ranked newer players (and the potential future revenue streams they provide) are sacrificed so high ranked players can have quick, easy matches with short wait times vs inexperienced players.
To the detriment of the health, well being and future of our -own- game of cause.
-
Be cook if Yui's bike helmet backpack could switch between being worn on her back and worn on her head lol
-
There is only one solution.
Rank locking with absolutely zero interference of other ranks outside the tiers below:
Tier 1: Brown and Yellow ranks together
Tier 2: Green and Purple ranks together
Tier 3: And Red ranks by their own because they've earned their position in their empty lobby simulator
Once your in your tier that's it. You can never go down, only up till your at the top. Then your there for ALL ETERNITY.
-
All a part of behaviours grand master plan to undermine their new potential player base and revenue stream by alienating new players putting them up against the absolute most toxic depths that swf red ranking has to offer.
Masterful business mindedness right there. Really bleeding edge foresight.
-
I mostly use Nurses Calling on Nurse. Predictable I know but omg is it fun to blink out of nowhere and ruin someone's day who thought they where safe mending in the corner of the map behind one of those sparsely covered brick walls.
I rarely if ever use BBQ because it takes up a precious perk slot for far more useful and powerful perk combos. Sure I miss the xp but BBQ's just not for me.

Unless you know how she works. Then she's not.
Pretty much the only juke I've seen is when they double back on you. If your on the ground level to counter that just simply blink down (or up if your on a top level). Though I have no answer for this if your on a map that has a middle level.
