Let's be honest, they basically gave the leak by how they did the 4. The problem with people being "disappointed" is they over hyped it themselves. Not the devs.
-
People are disappointed? I figured it would be Pyramid head and I'm actually really excited for it
-
Killers should take less points and get 4ks more often...what. You can get merciless killer even with a 3k. But if you did that, more people would just play survivor making survivor ques longer.
I prefer killer since you need to trip survivors up. And what's more terrifying than mind gaming them at a L wall to turn around and smack them in the face?
-
That's pretty cool actually. I would love to see the mummy or even the nun eventually. However, it might just be pinhead from Hellraiser. Which, in itself will bring many people to the game
-
Where did you read that the new killer is anti loop? I'm curious on where you read this at. My problem with an anti loop killer is that most of them get nerfed eventually

Which of the following that was in the previous updates has made this game more “survivor sided” : the removing of god loops, unaddressed obvious dead zones and the making of maps even smaller? Coop gen speed slowed down and tucked away in a perk. Yep, survivors are getting stronger! Yep!
Once again. I said "if you look at how the game was previously." Vault vacuums, almost infinite loops with how pallets were. BNP was basically pop it and a gen was completed. You could heal yourself faster than the killer could down you. Instant flash lights. You can't even loot a mori from a chest and if you're playing SWF, they made it easier to just sabo hooks. The game has been survivor sided for many years and they're balancing it out. It's not like survivors don't have perks to fix their mistakes which killers generally heavily rely on.
Devs just made it easier for anyone to be in red ranks. I've gotten there before they made changes to the ranking system.
-
Here's my problem.
Moris: you can use on the first unhook. And that's if you're using an ivory or ebony. Absolutely annoying to deal with as survivors.
Keys: you can just find in a chest, and get a free escape. I honestly rather see them fix the gate spawns so they're not right next to each other
-
@SurviveByDaylight said:
i definitely can’t say it’s survivor sided. In the red ranks killer wins most of the time. It’s a cesspool of Ebony Mori’s and tunneling campers 😂 EZ 4Ks. Every passing patch it gets easier and easier for them. Yet somehow.... we hear the same complaints. Gens are too fast, Whine about this loop where the survivor ran him for more than 5 seconds because if they don’t get their ez downs or ez kills complaints start rolling in.
Can you spot the salty survivor main? If you look at how the game was previously, it was very, very survivor sided. It's more even now IMO. But what do I know, I'm in red ranks and don't do either of those. Only bring a mori if I have a daily
-
Slugging is not holding the game hostage. The only thing I think a killer can do at this point to hold a game hostage is one person being alive and just standing on the hatch. That being said, if it's one person alive with a few gens left, they would have to go around and finish the gens. Which, as annoying as it would be, would still progress the match in a slower pace.
It's much easier to take the game hostage as survivors by not doing gens and being immersive enough to where the killer couldn't find anyone. I had that happen in a game so I just started face camping every survivor I hooked. 45 minute to an hour game btw
-
It's because of how new ranking system works, almost every survivor is red ranked. I've gone against red ranks and purple ranks before they changed it when I was still new to the game. It honestly made me a better killer.
That being said, with the new system there are a lot of potato red ranks running around thinking they're hot stuff for being red ranks
-
I'll be honest, I don't really see that big of a deal going against SWFs. I go against way better solo que survivors than I do SWFs. Maybe the optional death squad SWFs with sabo hooks (Dying light is so good against that.)
But I think the issue I have with SWFs is they should change how far apart your levels can be. I've played solo survivor with a rank 2 SWF with a rank 16 and 20. And the killer was a rank 16. Which, I honestly dislike because it'll most likely discourage most new killers to even attempt to play it. I have survivor main friends who don't touch killer because even at rank 20 they'll go against purple and red rank SWFs with a low ranking friends. It's honestly depressing to see.
-
If we're going for fun. Dark devotion doctor with distressing and calm add on. Also ghost face. I love to play peekaboo with survivors around the loops.
-
I honestly fail to see how Oni needs a nerf. If you nerf his curving, he's basically not even worth playing and have to hope the survivors potato out on running him.
He isn't like Billy where he always has his power. If you want to change the way he curves, then change the way he gains his power
-
So, we need to change stridor and spirit? Spirit isn't as easy as she once was. And killers had to deal with iron will far longer than survivors had to deal with stridor or spirit.
-
If you don't have fun trying to challenge yourself to get better, then maybe red ranks aren't for you. But I've gone against red ranks since I was green ranks, mainly due to SWFs or the matchmaking being weird. Either way, just because people are in red ranks it doesn't mean that they're meant to be in it.
-
How is Plague considered a fair killer? You can vomit on them and make them and then one shot down them.

The problem is comboing it with noed because the counter to camping is to genrush which means you cant do totems. Killer facecamps 2 survivors because thats about how long it takes. Then boom hits the 3rd and possibly the 4th with noed. Otz did a stream on this in red ranks and it only got countered by a stream sniping 4 man swf.
Not always true. It heavily depends on the survivors skills. Face camping a hook in general is just a bad idea. Even if you do use NOED, they'll probably get out an exit gate anyways. Plus you're not going to rank up
-
Okay, record the game, or see what perks/add ons they're using. There's no reason that you shouldn't be getting a game done as killer within 5 minutes by the hands of survivors. There's a few reasons as to why this is happening.
A: They're being immersive and you don't know where to look for them/visual ques.
B: You're letting them loop you without being able to hurt them so you're not able to know when to give up a chase or not.
There are 4 survivors, if all of them work on gens to where they 3 gen themselves and you're not able to pressure them at that point, then you need to change your strats.
-
I like dark devotion on doctor.
-
It's apart of the gameplay style. And they're probably expecting unbreakable.
-
New ruin is better if you can apply map pressure. And I would like to see these "infinite" survivor perks you're referencing to. If you're getting multiple gens being completed in 30 seconds, maybe you should run discordance.
Also what killer perks were "removed." You seriously have me curious.
-
Why would they even nerf it? By the time one person dies on a hook from being face camped, 2-3 gens are going to be popped in that time frame. So the most kills they'll even get is 2 at most. They're not going to nerf it. But, you believe what you want to believe
-
@Orionbash said:
Lol. Yes! Please do. The devs will nerf camping.
The devs aren't going to nerf camping lmao
-
I main killer, but I'll be honest. There's no real such thing as "gen" rushing. It's poor map pressure. And if you know that they're attempting to drag you to another side of the map, that's where you should leave them and go somewhere else. They're not doing anything helpful for their team.
-
I mean, stirdor was made to counter iron will. Some perks just counter each other, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I have 2 other questions . if I damage a gen regularly , but have the surge perk and put someone in the dying state with the basic attack and the survivor is in the range of the generator I just damaged but no other generators , would the perk still activate since it would not be damaging the generator ?
and would it be better to damage a generator regularly or by using the perk surge if the was an injured survivor who I could down withing the undamaged generators radius of the surge perk ?
Surge is okay. But the problem with it is that it doesn't do a whole lot of regression on its own. Pop is much better than surge imo, but you could use both of them if you want to. Down a survivor, see the gens damaged by it. Hook them, go back and use pop. Granted, I can't always recommend using two anti gen perks such as surge and pop.
-
To be honest, I would love to see Sam from Trick r treat. But that's probably far fetched and would never happen

This is the real answer here. ^^^
Freddy does not need any more changes beyond the ones he has already been given, I mean seriously, the singlehandedly biggest and best rework in the history of DBD and people want him to be changed again?
Edit: Not "people" in general, it's survivors. It's basically only survivor mains complaining.
If Freddy does get changes in the future it's not gonna be for a good *ss long while. There are other killers that need far more serious attention than Freddy who's only apparent problem is "he's boring" (oh please). My man Clown is in desperate need of a buff / rework and Leatherface, Pig, Plague, Legion, all need some serious love as well.
I honestly just want to see Plague get a rework. However, I've had a good 5 games where people DC'd as soon as they saw a Plague.
-
Here's the problem I have with people saying "make killer more fun to play against." The game is revolved around winning. That's like saying "these survivor perks aren't fun to play against and should be more fun to go against."
The only thing that makes Freddy "OP" imo is the fact you can't get BT to work if you're asleep while unhooking someone. Secondly, he's easy to counter if people just wake themselves and others up.
Freddy is just a teleporting M1 killer

Yeah, when that realization hits it's usually already far too late.
I was playing against a Camperface the other day and I was wondering why he was in Red Ranks.
Then that Exposed notification popped up.
Sorry to burst your bubba bubble. But if a killer is face camping you and they down everyone else because of NOED. They're not even going to stay in red ranks let alone make it to red ranks playing that way.
-
I mean, it's pretty easy for anyone to be red ranks now. I see a lot of red rank survivors who just toss pallets like hot cakes against Plague. Ez 4k
-
There's two things to consider.
A: How many gens are done and how many people are on death hook.
B: If people see that it's going to come down to a hatch game. (2-3 dead within the first 1-2 gens being completed)
Now, if it's option A: and one person is camping the hatch when the gens could be pushed out and multiple escape, I consider it to be toxic (in a way. Probably more scummy)
Option B: I think it's perfectly reasonable to want to just escape rather than dying. Granted I've seen people hold onto the hooks for the killer to find and kill them. Which, I honestly think is way more scummy and toxic.
-
My problem with hatch is the fact it'll spawn depending how many gens are done and how many survivors are left. So, if there's two gens, two survivors left either A: one or both survivors stop working on gens to find the hatch. In which the killer will look for hatch as well. B: One of the two survivors has a key and can make an escape that way. C: Killer slugs to close hatch to get a 4k if the doors are right next to each other.
My problem with hatch is if you don't tunnel, slug, or anything. Everyone is on death hook and now all the gens are done. Someone has a purple key or skeleton and everyone just yeets through the hatch. I've had this happen, I hate it. I honestly think if it comes down to keys, they should be a one person only instead of multiple people.
Then again, I also feel this way about moris needing to be changed. But if the killer plays scummy, "it's killer sided." So, now I'll play a bit more scummy and get flamed, doesn't bother me. Both sides have equal opportunities to be scummy and should play the game as such

Aye to the last part.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/708/Annotation 2020-05-11 162204.png
These Claudettes refused to do gens and caused an actual 1 hour match as I searched for them and killed them one by one, so survivors can definitely take the game hostage easier.
I had a game where it was a 4 stack SWF. They didn't do gens and I had to face camp each and every one of them to get the game progressing. They wanted to complain about it, I told them "complain all you want, you were taking the game hostage." And it was very, very annoying.
-
There is nothing against defending a chest or standing by it. The ONLY things that you can report players for are: hacking, exploits, taking the game hostage or DC'ing (I think on the last one.) Camping, slugging, "tunneling" are things you can't report a killer for. In fact, I think it's easier for survivors to take the game hostage than the killer.

No you wouldn't. Everything in dbd has an animation(except maybe gen tapping).
It's still a bad idea. You have safe pallets and even most junk loops are good enough where the killer has to just break pallet.
-
Because, even if you had it down to exhaustion level, you would have to remove the 3 seconds it takes to lift it up. Which means lifting it up right away, then being able to drop stun the killer again. Then at that point most killers would be running spirit fury and enduring. Having more perks to basically stun killers multiple times would be painful.

A killer using their power to end chases in one hit (more efficient) is worse than a killer using their power to end chases in two hits (less efficient)? Are you being sarcastic?
Doesn't really help much unless you're using add ons to increase the stalk and how long the mark would last. I rather use shroud recovery rate and crouching speed. Literally ended a game within two minutes without even using the stalk ability. Plus good survivors are going to know if you're stalking or not, and as soon as you're broken out of it and you smack a survivor, what's the point of even wasting more time trying to stalk when they can just hide and waste time?

That's what I don't like!
I don't like seeing a Myers, Ghostface, Billy using NOED. I don't understand why they're allowed.
As if playing against a 1 Shot killer isn't stressful already....
Okay, to be fair, if a ghost face is relying on using his power to one shot down people, he's kind of bad. Once a survivor spots you and breaks you out of it, you have no way of stealthing a chase.

Noed is an ok perks its amazing in endgame builds and even in a regular build. Noed dosent need a nerf only some killers rely too much on it to get a kill. Using noed dosent make you bad, 100% relying on noed makes you bad
I think relying on almost any perk makes someone bad. Only reason I see killers using noed is because they can't apply pressure otherwise

First of all two unrelated things, One is a perk one is a game mechanic.
Noed is fine but if you can't get kills without it then your a bad killer
Sorry english isnt my native language? What are you the grammer police?
And so is slugging survivors. the disappointing factor is that survivors are ready to jump the gun to defend why more killer perks need to be nerfed or "why you're bad" if you use -insert perk here-

@Kebek said:
Even when I enjoy to sometimes use NOED in endgame build and it's fun, I still think that it's design is unhealthy at least in it's current form. Too much room for abuse of this perk for uninteractive playstyles and general poor implementation of counterplay that has insane amount of flaws when faceing solos.
Best would be to give it full rework into some new amazing effect that would still make it worth the name No one escapes death with less frustraing aspects. Other option would be to add more info to solo players on the state of totems so that the current couterplay is at least plausible insted of complete RNG hope your team didn't miss 1 super secret totem spot or that it doesn't spawn near hooked person/gates or that you find it under 2 min or your teammate dies etc. It has many other issues but I don't feel like dissecting them all here.
I hope for new mid-chapter having large amount of perk reworks and NOED beiing one of them, paired with other perks with potentially annoying design.
See, the thing is, they probably had NOED that way because of HOW easy it was for survivors to straight up bully a killer and they never actually changed it now that it isn't as easy to bully a killer. That being said, I'd rather see them keep the speed increase, remove the one shot down and have it where they can just mori downed survivors at the end game. The problem with even slightly changing it, is how bad most totem perks are. Ruin is still good, devour hope is amazing if you can even get those stacks. And then we have haunted grounds which is the only totem you actually WANT survivors to break. I often question "why are half of these totem perks" survivors have few perks that disappear once they're used, and most of them are used when THEY activate them. totem perks are basically activated or deactivated by survivors.
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:
If you NEED noed to get a kill then maybe your just a bad killer
If you have to have your teammates body block you so you can escape the game alive. Maybe they're just bad survivors. Also work on the difference between your and you're.

@LetsPlayTogether said:
This perk is a complete design failure. Its unhealthy for all players. Killer players need to gitgud. Thats how it is. Its pathetic how most killers play this game. Theyre on the same Level like those baby survs in redranks that cant do anything helpful.
"Killer players need to gitgud." Most killers started running it because of the changes to ruin. But, where were the "survivors need to gitgud."
Is it because NOED is a really good perk? To be fair, survivors should probably gitgud and break every totem on the map before ruin even spawns in.
IN reality, there are plenty of perks out there that scream "this side should get good." Slower killers almost have to rely on NOED now like they had to rely on old ruin. New ruin is useless to slower killers that have to set things up, so noed basically took it's place.
-
WGLF could use some reworks. However, making them double BPs baseline will make it to where people wouldn't even bother to tier them up. If we made it to where perks don't need to be tiered up then it'll be implemented to other perks without having to put much work into it. Don't get me wrong, I actually wouldn't mind that idea seeing as how much easier it would to prestige characters (something I don't want to do since I have all the perks I want on Plague) and that's a good 7 million+ BPs just to do that
-
Usually at that point you just have to break the pallet
-
@SurviveByDaylight said:
Is this a serious question? You do realize that in this game certain killers have really good anti loop. Almost nothing you can do about it. Regular Loops are a lot weaker now. God loops are gone. Maps are smaller. All of this benefits the killer 🤣 it always benefits the killer with each passing update. Survivor nerfs just get tucked away in a perk somewhere. You know it’s true2Also, DS doesn’t always give you enough time
My dude. When a killer's perk gets nerfed, then survivors say "no it's only fair" both sides get nerfed. Your post is pretty bias and gives me self entitled vibes

His brown add-on in the screenshot is the fake pallet add-on. And if memory serves correctly, this is one of the loops they just nerfed in the most recent patch?
Yes, it is one of the nerfed maps. The loop is still strong, yes. But it isn't an almost infinite. Still a good loop.
-
Are you using fake pallets there or are you using blood pools. You should be able to slow them down enough with freddy on the blood pools. But, I've been using Bamboozle on plague. Why? Just because they made the loop weaker, doesn't mean it still isn't strong. If I see survivors going for a super strong loop, I just leave the area.
-
I main killer. But if I'm going to play survivor I'm going to do it with some friends. I've seen how games go downhill fast because of solo que players
