Had someone accuse me of hacking today due to them not hearing my TR as Bubba. One of their teammates had to stop them to point out that I was running Nemesis. Unfortunately, you get ppl that have a very narrow view of the game and quickly lash out when they don't understand why something happened the way it did.

From someone who normally had 150+ ping on p2p to 60 or less guaranteed, I disagree. I love the servers and I'm super happy they're on console. Can't tell you the amount of times I assumed I was dead because of bs window hits and I hear the clink instead.
It definitely matters where you live to have a good connection but I have no complaints with mine. ^_^
Those numbers are Abit misleading. While your seeing your connection to the servers, other ppls connection that your not seeing a number for can also affect you.
-
This is one reason I kinda chuckled each time I saw console players saying they WANT the servers, while PC players have already experienced the issues they haven't ironed out yet. At least they're improving... Was REALLY bad when they first were introduced.
-
Really just depends on my mood. I've gone against EdgarAllenBro before I've ever seen his twitch channel or anything. Was using Clown and managed to do well with no addons. He turned out to be really chill and said I played really well and fair. Went ahead and clicked that follow button...
Saw Zubatlel pop up in my lobby once and decided to get sweaty... Ebony mori+Iri heads, lol. I later saw clips from that match in one of his youtube videos, lol.

The English translation is fine, however most other translations are not. They are litterally just copy pasted from Google Translator. The wording is so broken that many people, indluding me, litterally switch to the English version of the game, because perks and add-ons and powers don't actually explain whats going on. In the German version for example it litterally says on the description of the perk Insidious that you become invisible. The developers even realised that bug, but never made any effort to fix, even though that wouldnt even take 30 second to correct.
So... What I'm hearing is... German Bubba can disappear? That's epic

Literally Hag is the worst killer I cant imagine a killer whos more F tier than hag *wink wink*
Keep saying that and the devs will end up "buffing" her Legion style.

Had a match as Bubba where all 4 survivors spawned together in a dead end alcove with nothing but a TL wall to run to... That match was over in about 1 min 30 seconds.

The difference PWYF makes is insane, lol. When I started using it, I was plowing through team after team while barely using add-ons.

I'd be okay with it as long as they fix maps like haddonfield and badham
The problem there is theyd have to balance maps while always having the perk in mind. Its a similar situation as what happened with enduring or Tinkerer. For any stun effects, they had to always keep enduring in mind to ensure the stun isnt completely useless while for Tinkerer, they had to ensure any addons they introduce didnt become OP when combined with tinkerer. In the end, they decided to just change both of those perks to avoid dancing around having to balance around the ideas of playing with AND without them.
For balanced landing, if they design loops so it doesnt feel unfair to a killer chasing someone with BL (a nearby door next to a window drop), it just ends up feeling worse for people who DIDNT bring the perk. If essence, balancing the map around the perk just makes the perk required while hindering the people who dont have it equiped.

I agree. I'm just taking a little shot because it's usually that kind of person who complains about gen rushing.
@PyroGL I somewhat agree. But I don't feel the OP was robbed as they put it. It's just some really bad luck. We've all had those games where we get blindsided. I do agree people need to stop telling everyone to just run Franklin's or bring a Mori. Honestly keys and Mori's need reworked at this point.
Never really understood peoples thought pattern regarding Franklin's when it comes to keys. If you plan on using the key later on and the killer has Franklins... a smart thing to do is just stash it away in a spot you (and your SWF team if any) knows of. As far as tunneling the key holder, unless they brought an addon to keep the key, the key itself remains in play. I've seen plenty of survivors escape using their dead teammate's key, and I've done it myself as well.

Feels kinda scummy, but I use to run NOED and Class photo on old Freddy. Had times with it when all 4 survivors would still be alive, only to end up having 4 slugs before they could open the gate.

Ive experienced it several times when I notice that a survivor in the dying state is completely quiet. If someone is just injured, id just assume they had ironwill, but your suppose to make noise in the dying state.

It's already almost impossible to loop spirit fury without a god window. But Nemesis + PWYF is gonna need you to find someone, eat a stun, and then chase that specific person for like 50 seconds to build up 3 stacks.
That's 50 seconds of 3 people on gens, not including the time to find and get stunned, and then you lose a stack to down the guy you are chasing, so you can be losing ~2 gens worth of time to get 2 stacks and a down.
So you basically need to turn them into a multiple slugs or you can be liable to almost lose the game just building it up twice against a really good team.
Very observant players will also notice you are using nemesis, and thus probably play with your food, and they will avoid pallet stunning you. Spirit fury you can bounce targets and instantly nail someone without warning. You also build it very fast with an insta-saw, especially if you predict the pallet throws correctly.
I would use it on like myers, because he can get benefits from the speed from better stalking as well. But on bubba specifically I think spirit fury is the way to go.
You don't have to kill so much time each time artificially building stacks. Like I said, PWYF bubba can't really be looped. When your riding someone's ass at a pallet, they either drop the pallet or get sawed. While you break each pallet... you'll naturally be gaining a stack while also creating giant deadzones very quickly.
You don't need 3 stacks to be dangerous. Even just 1 stack is gonna put someone in that situation of drop the pallet or get sawed. Very few ppl will CHOOSE the saw over the pallet.
-
Slow vaulting pallets is already a thing. I think you mean medium vault?

Ooh yes! The targets should be Survivor planks that lower and rise.
Or... Actual survivors, lol. Imagine practicing your skills with Huntress, Billy, nurse or some other mechanic extensive killer while another player practices THERE skills at dodging.

@Apple2o said:

Takes too long to build the stacks imo. May as well just rock spirit fury and the beasts marks. You basically get a free saw every 2 pallets and unlike billy, it's almost impossible to miss.
Treat each stack as a down. Even having just 1 is a big difference, but having multiple will make it impossible to loop you and will have ppl tossing every pallet instantly.
-
Having target practice with Huntress would be cool...

Oh I would appreciate advice on him, I’m rank 8 right now and got my first merciless with him using 3 level 1 perks and got called out for camping and tunneling with an endgame score of 30,780. Do you think it’s a better way of applying pressure to slug?
Slugging is one way. I use to run a build on him with Infectious fright that worked pretty well. You can also try a build like THIS one which centers around PWYF to make him unloopable once you get afew stacks.
https://youtu.be/XJfYRRREoocThis has been a popular approach lately and makes him feel like a real threat. Figured with your PFP being what it is... You probably have nemesis.

@LordGlint said:
Just wanted to hear you all's thoughts on the subject. I've been playing Billy alot lately to try to improve on him, and I use infectious fright on him. As far as slugging goes, my thoughts sre...I'll slug whenever the oppertunity arises. By that, I mean if I'm presented with a 2nd target to down...Ill take it.
To some though, slugging should really only be done as a last ditch effort or something. Just got out of a really close game that ALMOST ended really early with 3 ppl downed and me chasing the 4th, when unbreakable reared its head and saved the day for the survivors. Still ended up getting the 4k but only after 4 gens were done.
Endgame chat, one of em piped up "Imagine slugging with 4 gens up and with ruin still up as well". Whats you alls thoughts on this? Should the amount of gens remaining determine if I should slug or not?
Had a similar discussion recently where I asked when it's appropriate to slug. The general consensus is whenever it feels like it would benefit you, with the only form considered BM is when you slug with the intention of making someone bleedout.
Sidenote... If ya need advice on Bubba... Lemme know.

I read the title and just pictured a Billy zooming from gen to gen to help with repairs while the survivors look on in confusion.

Legion's power is actually pretty good if you play it well
Tracking, stall and bassicly turning you into a oneshot killer
I don't understand how people can think it's a bad power
Unlike actual 1 shot killers, Legion gives the survivor a speed boost first, which they'll quickly use to get to a strong loop. If Bubba catches you out in the open...your going down. If Legion catches you out in the open, he'll help you fix that with a speed boost to safety. On maps like Crotus prenn asylum, Every time you get that first hit, you can guarantee survivors are just gonna beeline it to the map's overly safe spot.
-
Was anyone else expecting a rant post? I read the title and instantly started trying to guess at what unfair thing he was gonna rant about.

@BenZ0 said:
Yeah that is obvious, I never mentioned that Clown is as good as Freddy xD I just took the snaires as a comparison.
Except typically the snares are better. They're pretty comparable at countering small loops, but for the bigger loops like ironworks god window... While you can place afew snares to kill it pretty easily, throwing a bottle is pretty useless since the smoke is likely to be gone by the time you come back around.
A large problem Clown has is the same thing Doc has. Once you starts a chase with someone, everyone on the map knows about it. Its easy to tell exactly WHERE you are due to the Clown's gas making people scream and its easy for the other 3 people to stay productive since they know you're busy, even if they dont see you. Add on the lack of mobility and they typically have too much of a feeling of safety. I KNOW I'm safe when screams are occuring on the opposite side of the map, and I know im safe for awhile afterwards because you still have to walk over to me.
For other killers who are deemed more lethal, they either offer good mobility to allow them to cross the map and pressure me immediately after a hook, or I DONT know their location at any given time and have to worry about a possible ambush out of nowhere at any given time. Freddy has BOTH of these between his teleport allowing him to get around and his Lullaby being omnidirectional. Typically when a mobility killer hooks someone and then you hear their TR come close to you really fast...you know which direction their approaching from. Freddy could be approaching you from ANY direction, making his kit offer abit of a stealth aspect as well.
Another example of a killer who doesnt suffer from quite the same issues is Huntress. Although shes slower, shes able to pressure survivors across the map alot of times. Being outside her TR doesnt mean I'm safe I still have to keep an eye out for flying hatchets. Add in her small TR and really large omnifirectional hum, and often times she can get closer to you than you realize because it sounds the same when shes at 21 meters than when shes at 45 meters. Is it safe to heal now, or are you in nurse's calling range? Unless you have LOS on her, often times you dont know and that 45 meter range puts you in her humming range too often to stay overly paranoid all game.

I understand that, but with the severe popularity of characters, such as Myers, Ghostface and Hillbilly, then having an instant-down would be super easy and able to apply the pressure quickly THAT way.
And like I also said, you can stack it with other perks.
Once you start bringing reliable instadowns, people stop healing and the game goes even faster. For this, just think of anytime perma T3 is used for Myers, iri heads for Huntress or just the Plague in general. Healing becomes a waste of time, and ppl generally WANT to stay injured for the sake of dead hard.
As for what you said earlier with playing with Nemesis and having the obsession bounce around... This would just increase the chance of hooking your obsession EVERY hook and never gaining any stacks.

@Peanits said:
I always view it as fair game, but it tends to be a bad idea unless you're sure you can get a second down quickly. For that reason, I'll usually only slug if I see another survivor nearby, otherwise I'll just take the hook.
To give an example, me Huntress, me throw hurty sticks. If I down one guy and see someone else nearby, I'll throw a hatchet and hit them. If I'm now out of hatchets, I'll let them go and settle for the hook or else there's a good chance my slug will get picked up while I'm chasing. If I do have hatchets, I'll usually try to get a second down quickly and then go hook the first guy.
So...Hurty sticks confirmed for next weapon cosmetic?

Completely understandable. I do the same. Otz loves surge. I have tried it a couple times and just don't like it. There is a reason meta perks are meta i guess.
The main reason to use surge is the regression process, not the 8%. The immediate 8% isnt much, but the fact that you dont have to kick a gen you otherwise would have is the benefit its giving you.

Outside of slugging to BM it's fine. At least to me.
The only time I'll slug someone to BM is if they obviously want to suicide as soon as their hooked. If you go find the killer so you can leave a game after finishing your challenge or something...you can bleed out. Saw way too much of this during the original hallowed blight event with survivors farming flowers and then noping out of the actual game.
-
My favorite would have to be Huntress, with my least favorite...imma say its tied between Hag and Plague. Plague makes me loud as all hell, even when I have ironwill on for that exact reasoning, and Hag makes me nervous about stepping ANYWHERE. At least Trapper's traps can be disarmed by hand, need a flashlight for Hag's.

Will anything be done about the current "Hook Tech" with survivors sliding between the hooked survivor and the pole during the hook animation or is this something that the devs approve of?
-
I dont think anyone would disagree with you that shes a great killer when played right, although its more along the lines of personal flavor on whats "best". This would be like if I made a forum post titled "Unpopular opinion: Chocolate tastes good".
-
Due to how seldom it would actually be useful, I dont really see a point in another item+ its addons to be poluting survivor bloodwebs. Typically the only time the speed of gate opening is a concern is if your the last survivor. Do you really want an item that is ONLY useful if your 3 teammates are dead? I imagine bringing that into a lobby would be the equivalent of telling your teammates that you have no hope for them, lol.

Just so we're able to support it if something goes horribly wrong. If we're out for the weekend, there's nobody in the office. If there's a really bad issue with an update (like the basement bug, for example), we can whip up a fix that same week and send it off for certification, which usually means it's ready early the week after.
It's one of the things we've learned over the years. We used to patch any day it was convenient (even Friday), but that has backfired before, so we don't want to repeat that again.
Fair enough. Its just always abit of a pain because my work week starts on Tuesday, and everytime a PTB or something hits...my coworkers know about it due to my whining about having to work, lol.
-
@Peanits said:
There are no confirmed dates yet, for what it's worth, so I wouldn't recommend booking a day off or anything. Glad to hear that you're looking forward to the update, though.
Why do you guys always drop updates and PTBs on Tuesdays instead of the weekend when ppl will be able to play them? I always have abit of inner conflict about "should I call in sick or be a responsible adult?"
-
Id say some kind of cap should be in place with how much of a speed bonus or debuff can be in place. Toolboxes are the main culprit for survivors, but not the only factor.
-
How is playing the killer as intended "abusing" him? I feel like that word gets tossed around too much.
