Time to tell your "I messed up unnintentionally" as survivor funny moments.
- I tried to take a hit for a friend and I ended up blocking his path whyle he was injured and being chased cause we couldn't coordinate
- I dodged an axe throw by crouching and the axe got a guy behind me
- I tried to Q&Q into a locker when in a chase and there was someone there, the killer saw it and he broke chase to get the locker surv
- I cleansed HG the exact moment a guy started saying "She's on me, it's the Spiri..."
- I tried to heal a guy with the killer comming towards us, my dog barks, I get spooked and miss a healing skill check
mine always happen when i unintentionally lead the killer to the whole party on a gen
i'm always saying "oh sh*t im sorry, im so sorry, and it's bubba im sorry, please survive everyone"

guess this was an unfortunate spacebar spamming xD

Sprint Burst is the strongest because, even if you cant bait it like Dead Hard, you dont have to be injured to make use of it, and the dedicated servers dont hate it too much. Tho, Dead Hard is the best when it works.

Hey guys! I was inspired by the stats of the Devs and the experiment of Marth (Depip Squad) to create my own chart with my stats. I will tell you now something important then you are free to look trough the chart and at the bottom I will post my criticism to MYSELF and what numbers might be not very correct.
Region: EU - Germany - Frankfurt Servers - 30ms Ping
100 matches as KILLER
Start: 13th December 2019 - 25th January 2020 (most matches from 20th December - 6th January and 17th January - 25th January).
Played ONLY with green ping, Ping is always around 33ms in lobby at the 30sec mark.
Not a single Mori offering has been used.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/647/77O3E9Z2NU1M.png
Self criticism:
- I am not a ruthless Killer, sometimes I let people escape by bringing them to the hatch, but in this chart all those escapes are still counted as kills. Every hatch escape that is in chart is against my will. Because of that I did not include my rank
- I did not always try to go for the 4K but sometimes I tried to go for the 4K! Sorry for this, I should have been consequent in my decision
- I switched around Addons and Perks on some killers, so the individual stats might be incorrect and dependend on Addons/Perks
- Especially after the Ruin nerf I played more dirty with slugging and proxy, but again not by far not every match
- The green-blue chart stats about ruin include killers I did not use ruin with, so I think it has no value at all
- Ruin Nerf and Doc Change start with match 78 (red line)
- Toxic survivor ingame: active teabagging at/behind pallets or in the exit gates, aggressive flashlight clicking or taunting
- Toxic survivors in chat: insulting me or any teammate in chat and ggez (not the sarcastic one)
- I can not guarantee that all numbers are 100% correct because of the amaount of data and many possibilites for mistakes.
- DS=Decisive Strike; BT=Borrowed Time; OOO=Object of Obsession
My Killer Builds I used:
1) Hillbilly: Enduring+Spirit Fury+BBQ+Infectious Fright (In the beginning Ruin instead of Infectious Fright)
Addons: Non or Anti-Noise / In Red Ranks Primer Bulb+Homemade Muffler
2) Nurse: A Nurses Calling+Shadowborn+Infectious Fright+BBQ (In the beginning Ruin instead of Shadowborn)
Addons: Both Cooldown after few matches no Addons
3) Spirit: Stridor+BBQ+Whispers+Ruin/StBfL (after Ruin nerf)
Addons: Always different (yellow/brown), never Purple and never Prayer Beads
4) Huntress: A Nurses Calling+BBQ+Whispers+Ruin/Shadowborn (after Ruin nerf)
Addons: Exhaustion+Locker Reload
5) Trapper: BBQ+Whispers+Ruin+Haunted Grounds/Pop+Brutal (after Runi nerf)
Addons: Bag + Darkening or Fastening tools
6) Plague: Ruin+BBQ+Enderuing+Spirit Fury
Addons: always different
7) Doc: BBQ+Bamboozle+Ruin+Haunted grounds/pop+StBfL(after Ruin nerf)
Addons:Restraint+Discipline of any rarity
8) Freddy: BBQ+Enduring+Spirit Fury+Ruin/Pop (after Ruin nerf)
Addons: No Addons or slower repair speed
9) Demogorgon: Bamboozle+BBQ+StBfL+Ruin/Pop (after Ruin nerf)
Addons:_Rat Liver+Black Heart
10) Oni: BBQ-Bamboozle-Infectious Fright-Pop
Addons: Longer Fury of any rarity+random
Epilog:
This project took a lot of my time! For the first 20 matches I saved much more data like screen shots, perks used, items used, match time, time until ruin is gone and many more. But it was way to much work to keep on going for 100 matches (my set goal) and giving the data only after 20 matches is nothing special or representative. So I dropped it and collected only data I was insterested in, espacially the fact that devs said there are 4% (?) 4-stack SWFs and I could not believe it. Even then I dropped the project for a week because of privat stuff and the exhaustingly long profile checks after the match.
I would LOVE to see YOUR results too! It would be so much fun to see the results of a survivor main with alteast 100 matches!
I hope you liked it.
really interesting stats, i would not go that far personally
even if i dont see the real use that could be made of them, i respect the hard work behind, and may inspire myself of it
-
i play it on kate with a bunch of other scratch marks perks, it's a fun build (Quick and Quiet, Dance with Me, Poised, and Fixated)
not very strong tho, if the killer gets what im doing
-
this is not a bug, this is current matchmaking sadly.
the populations are broken and it makes the game give you bad matchmaking, also, probably 90% of those matches arent SWF.

The thing is if it did say you got extra BPs than it would tell you that in The Rift, but it doesn't.
Also, I own this cosmetic as well and it just says "owned" in The Rift, so unlocking it won't really do anything since the game already knows I own it...
Unfortunate? Yes. A big deal though? Not really. I wouldn't worry about it, perhaps you can suggest to BHVR that they should reward players who already own these skins with BPs or something.
[Here's the link to the suggestions sub-forum if you're interested]:
Well since it's a bug, according to @Fibijean, I think I wont suggest it for now xD
-
@Fibijean said:
This is actually a bug with the Rift. That cosmetic is Rift-exclusive, but many, if not all, players have unlocked it early for no apparent reason. Nothing will happen when you reach that point in the Rift, because the game recognises that you already own it, so it will just skip over the item and not even attempt to add it to your inventory.
oh i see ! it explains it all then, because i was also desperately searching from where i got it. Well I'm glad it's a bug, that means the devs didnt throw stuff we could potentially have.
-
@FireHazard said:
Nothing special will happen.
You don't get extra blood-points in response, the cosmetic won't vanish from your inventory, it won't duplicate, it'll just be unlocked on The Rift and probably (the most likely scenario) just replace the old one you bought with the new one... but that's it.
By that I mean it'll take the spot of the already bought cosmetic, but since it's the same cosmetic it won't really change anything, it'll be as if you didn't unlock it again since it's just the same cosmetic being unlocked for the 2nd time.
well, that's the unfortunate answer i hoped the devs thought about what could happen if people already had that stuff in their inventory
whatever, it's only 1 skin so, i guess it's okay
-
this is ridiculous and nobody is going to care about this, you're just ruining fun for yourself and random people.
-
Nope, still uncounterable phasing because you still have to guess and hope it was the good choice ((((when the sound isnt glitching))))
-
@HazeHound said:
@Kagari_Leha If you think that dropping the pallet is solution then you are the person who screws up entire team.
Trick is to waste as much time without breaking the pallet and if getting hit not throwing it, rather using momentum to get to the next loop and delay there/vanish.
i think you dont understand
Dropping pallets early now works. because there are so many safe pallets on so many maps, if the killer is a bottom tier, it will work. It's sadly not screwing over the team and that's why it's so frustrating, Clown cant do anything about it for example, if they just spend the chase throwing all the pallets on the map, it will work because Clown has no way to end chases quickly (unless you use redhead pinky finger)

(Actually making it a poll this time because I was dumb last time lmao)
I proposed this idea in another thread, but I want to hear the community's thoughts on it. So, let's say you're doing the Tome challenges, and you come across two missions, one that requires you to shock 4 people as Doc and another that requires you to fully heal yourself using Solidarity. Now, you're a bit stuck because you have neither Doc nor Solidarity unlocked. However, you don't want to have to spend money to simply earn the opportunity to complete these challenges, and to be able to grind out the shards needed to unlock both these characters before the Rift closes, you'd need to play for several hours each day, and you might not have the time or schedule for that.
I propose a fix. I think that selecting a mission that requires you to play a Killer or Survivor you do not have unlocked will temporarily make that character able to play for as long as the mission is active and uncompleted. Selecting a Doc challenge will allow you to play as Doc, a Jane mission to play as Jane, et cetera. This grant is disabled if you complete the mission or if you select a different one before completing it. In addition, selecting a mission that requires a Perk you don't have unlocked will temporarily lock it into the Perk loadout of all of the characters who can use it: One Perk slot is forced to equip said Perk, and you cannot take it off until the challenge is completed or de-selected, at which point the Perk is automatically locked behind a wall again.
I know this isn't an issue for most people as most people already have most if not all characters and Perks available in some capacity, but for others who don't want to spend the money on all the DLC and don't have the time to grind, this could be a simple solution to an issue barring them from enjoying an implemented feature of the game—that feature, of course, being the ability to complete Tomes.
Cant judge there because i bought them all so im biased, but arent the dlc characters on sale right now, for the sake of the Rift ?
-
cool 4 u clown, but making a solemn post for that is overkill, honestly, dont you think we had enough threads like that from people who came back two weeks after ?

I would probably run the meta perks of corrupt + pop goes. I never play M1 killers without bamboozle, in case I load into a map with abusable windows. Fourth slot would probably be whispers. No room for BBQ unless I am specifically farming BP.
bamboozle is terrible, if they start going to god windows, just give up on the chase, you're pig you can crouch and suprise attack them later

i think animations for healing and gen repairs arent a priority because there are much more important problems in game

Wraith has decent mobility, certainly better than trapper and clown. Trapper and clown are great in chases, you shepherd them where you want as trapper, you see the loop they are heading for as clown then cover the exits with bottles.
Sure, they're not easy to use killers spirit or freddy, but you have to play to the killers strength
Trapper is good only on fis territory
and what the #########, clown good at chases. lmaoooo just drop that f*ing pallet and run to the next, and he'll never catch you but SURE clown is GOOD at chases.

@gamerscrybecauseofme said:
I don't like the ruin change, it's a blatant nerf to the hex that will render it mostly useless like all other hexes beyond the insta down hexes. Thankfully, I am not a trash killer and don't use it anyway.
However, it's been great hearing about the killers dropping ranks because they can't keep up with the pace of the game at red ranks. It's about time they dropped into the ranks they deserve to play in.
Hopefully now, when I load into a trial as survivor, I get a killer that can actually play, rather than lazily rely on a totem to do all the hard work for them.
Also, I am going to love it as killer, as I will be completely unaffected by the change, like I was with every other change to nurf killers, why? Because killers are overpowered. The only chance survivors have, is with 4man swf, and even then, they get squished most the time. If you're not capable of that as killer, then enjoy the purple/green ranks or even playing some other game 👍
I agree that killer mains are as entitled as survivor mains and cried too much about ruin and should be able to play without it but
Clown exists, Bubba exists, Wraith exists, Trapper exists. Those killers who cant do a good job at pressuring the map are in a bad position, and it's not necessarily the fault of the players here.
Plus, half the maps are still extremely bad for all the non-high mobility killers.
And finally, matchmaking doesnt help, but that's not really linked to Ruin there.
So, even if I hate how everyone just cried and cried and cried about Ruin's rework, I cant agree with that post.

@Marcavecunc said:
But honestly, I really like the idea, stuns is one of the survivor actions that didn't have an available speed boost exhaustion perk associated to it, and making it require you to be wounded would make it a riskier perk to run.
That's why I thought of it ! I hope the devs had the idea too, it's nice I think. They could even find their own conditions.
-
@Marcavecunc said:
Exhaustion perks always have a 60/50/40 cooldown. Dead Hard is an exhaustion perk that requires you to be wounded and it has the standard cooldown before being available for use again.
Making your new perk idea have a shorter cooldown would really make people use it to be toxic to the killer.
I guess you're right. let's do that then, I'm going to edit the OP
-
@Marcavecunc said:
I like the idea, but at the same time it would only promote being a dick to the killer on purpose just for the sake of getting away with it.
A good idea, I note it, but then I suggest making the exhaustion a bit shorter to 50/40/30 seconds

@Kagari_Leha Ummm. It's just a title. Lol. Read my explanation. Franklin's? U mean the perk that makes them drop it then they can just pick it back up. Thanks for the very very very good advice 👍👍👍👍
Well, I'm a rank 1 and when i see a lot of items, i just take Franklin's
It works. Just make sure the guy who lost the key wont find it again. If you chase correctly, there's no way they'll take the time to pick up the item again.
-
Nothing "needs to go", just to be reworked
Just like moris, they deny the work of a side towards "victory". So, ask them to rework keys and moris. That's all.
just like toolboxes should get adressed now that Ruin is reworked, since map design takes way more time to correct.
And well while waiting, if you're terrified of keys... Play Franklin's Demise ?

For Killer i once started a match and i did horrible. I could find any survivors constantly lost them in chase. It wasen't untill one gen was left i realised i had my headphones on backwards so all the sounds were reversed
Do you people have any embarressing stories that made you facepalm for yourself?
######### I wore my headphones reverted too and I hated it so much I didnt get until the end of my playing session why i couldnt find people / ran into killers all the time
-
why not asking them directly tho
-
People want unranked mode, but they forget matchmaking would be even worse and players would use that mode to be extremely annoying to others as they wont unrank by acting like idiots.
Also a solo mode would be pointless.
So a hide and seek mode ? yeah well go play Garry's mod then, we dont need the devs to spend months on that kind of stuff, when the game still has problems to deal with
-
@TommyFredo said:
Definitely a possibility. The game needs a big rework, but BHVR has the most toxic community and a new mode would never be a possibility without a cult community.
wouldnt say dbd has the most toxic community, and i dont see the point you want to make. So, the toxic community doesn't want the game to have new content ? I dont get your point.
-
Personally I think a lot of killer perks are bad.
But "bad" doesnt mean it's "useless".
So people asking for half the killer perks to be reworked are wrong, if you can use it effectively, even if it's situational, it doesnt need a rework.
The only perks that need a rework are :
- Predator, because it doesnt work correctly, as the scratch marks confuse the killer, the perk make the scratch marks way more probable to spawn on walls.
- Cruel Limits, because it should block windows in your terror radius, not windows around the gen.
The other perks just need buffs.
Unless it's NOED then, yes nerf it to the ground.
-
@AntiJelly said:
Comparatively to perks that give a much greater advantage, there are many that serve little to no use. Many perks are overshadowed by specific perks that do the same thing, but better. There's also perks that are band-aids to fix broken mechanics, there's perks that don't fit the meta, and there's perks that have effects that do close to nothing.
Bitter Murmur, Blood Echo, Bloodhound, Brutal Strength, Coulrophobia, Cruel Limits, Fire Up, Furtive Chase, Hangman's Trick, Huntress Lullaby, Third Seal, Insidious, Mindbreaker, Monstrous Shrine, Overwhelming Presence, Predator, Remember Me, Spies From the Shadows, Surge, Territorial Imperative, Tinkerer, and Zanshin Tactics.
All of these need changes.
Zanshin is a training wheel, just like Windows of Opportunity for survivors, it's not useless.

I’m trying to figure out what ranks most of the people upset about the ruin nerf are on. What is your current rank, and please be honest? Thanks.
Also, and you don’t have to share, but what is your age range? Like 12-15, 18-25, 25-30, etc. I sort of am wondering if this forum is mainly teenagers by some of the posts.
I'm rank 1 and I personally think those changes are great. You have to apply pressure to "win" as killer, if you cant apply pressure without Ruin, you're not playing correctly... or you play Clown, I feel you.
But those changes would be more accepted if the toolboxes/map designs were adressed at the same time I'll agree, playing on Ormond/Rotten Fields with new Ruin instead of Corrupt will be very complicated to near impossible depending on which killer you play.
Also, even if people are very childish, i wouldnt be surprised a lot of those "killer mains" yell that much on every other game, since their childhood. They just want the win and nothing else, you can't have fun on a video game.

WELL THANKS
NOW I CANT UNSEE IT

Kindred is better but sure when you're solo queue, all the aura reading perks are great

@LustForBP said:
What about decreasing gen speed per gen completed?
Early Game (5-4) Current Repair Speed
Mid Game (3) -5% Gen Repair Speed
Late Game (2-1) -10% Gen Repair Speed
- % used is just an example
I believe this will cause survivors to have to be more strategic. If you knock out generators 1by1 by crowding, you slow down your time on progressing/completing others. If you spread out, you could potentially finish generators quickly by taking advantage of not having a negative % on Repair Speed.
Or flip this around. Game starts off slow and progressively gets faster as generators are completed.
Another idea, since a lot of people have called for a secondary objective:
How about since Survivors have to repair generators, before they can repair them, they have to clear rust from the generators. Similar to how survivors have to Mend themselves before being able to heal when they’re hit by certain effects from killers.
Its just an idea!
If something like that existed, I think it should be reversed, as early game is actually the hardest moment for the killers.
But also not be about gen completion as it would be unfair to make games 40 minutes long because Freddy uses Pop and nobody can finish the first gen

I like to imagine that Claudette is on the Autism Spectrum, specifically Aspergers Syndrome. Her Archives lore definitely has some hints towards this, although it could be ADHD or something else entirely. Given how the lore has been slightly inconsistent here and there, I'm just going to pretend that she is until explicitly proven otherwise.
Going off of that, I like to think that when not gathering plants for healing, Claudette rarely talked to her fellow survivors, but now that she's warmed up to them, she'll occasionally launch into a long, one-sided conversation about botany. Wether or not she gets interrupted or stopped by another survivor depends on which survivors she ends up talking to, I like to imagine some survivors find this behavior endearing, others (probably Kate seeing as she's the one who tries to keep everyone hopeful) know that it distracts her from their horrible situation, and others just find it annoying. I speak from experience with these things I've annoyed my parents many times with my massive tangents about subjects I enjoy 😂
I personally think of her as ADHD, but you know, Autism and ADHD are linked together and happen a lot to be both at once

@SpaceCoconut said:
To the devs:
Do you believe that the current state of generator speed is fine?
It's possible for a killer to traverse the entire length of a map just in time to see the first gen be completed by a group of survivors.
Is this ok even as an outlier situation?
That's not about gen speed there, it's about map design :
Ormond almost always puts you at the polar opposite of the survivors, and it usually ends up meaning you will lose the first gen if someone brought either Prove Thyself or a Commodious toolbox
Same for some spawns of Red Forest, Rotten Fields, Fractured Cowshed and Temple of Purgation.
The gen speed is fine, really, but the maps make it terrifying. Also, toolboxes should be adressed asap after Ruin gets reworked, I hope it can be reworked for the 15th Chapter.
