Since i started playing billy 3 weeks ago i get ez 4ks 90% of my games. So is billy op? Im not calling billy op or asking for nerfs im just curious cause its so ez to 4k with him. I used to main leatherface and got 4ks only 40% of my games. Im on xbox
No. Billy isn't OP, he punishes mistakes just like any 1 hit killer. If one good survivor catches a chase, he can easily get 2-3 gens popped unless a mistake is made. Run your loops correctly and a 4k for the Billy is nearly impossible.

I found out that I am in love with Slashers. I live for the idea of a new licensed killer. Slasher movies are what I grew up on, in the prime of it all. I love Scream, Jason, Myers, you name it. I am getting tattoos to represent them. They all have stories and or ideologies around them that are super interesting to a person like myself. I knew slashers were dope before, but I love them now! Hopefully I can make my own slasher that has very few negatives, and maybe make a movie series that doesn't kill itself in the trilogy. We'll see! Great post btw

I'm not sure what this is in response to. We have no said anything about nerfing the clown, and I don't think anyone else has in a very long time.

They haven't said anything about Clown ever. Unfortunately.
I've seen plenty of other discussions about people wanting him nerfed, and many people posting about it on instagram. Not an official nerf, this is to the people who are asking for a nerf. Chill.

The only reason Spirit feels easy is because 95% of survivors go full potato against her. It doesn't matter the rank either. They just make stupid decision after stupid decision. Get someone in that 5% I guarantee you will change your tune. She's not actually as easy as you think. You are getting false positives because majority of survivors don't know what to do against her.
Exactly. Majority don't know what to do. What are the odds of getting a 4 man of all experienced players that can play her with no problem. Even if I know how to counter her, doesn't mean my teammates do. This causes me to waste precious gen time on unhooks, pallet/flashlight saves, taking hits, etc. A 3 legged dog can get a 2-3k easily, especially in today's Red Ranks.

Agreed, I believe he is a better killer overall, but he's less annoying to play for the survivors. Win, win. Next up on the wish-list, better queue times!!

I'm rank 2 right now and haven't managed to pip yet. Games are over in 3-4 minutes. Killers relied too much on Ruin.They have no idea how to play without it. I am a purple rank killer right now (I'm playing more survivor at the moment, was rank 1 before) and I got 4Ks with Clown against red rank survivors. Sure, It's more stressful now, but it can still be done.
3-4 minutes? That's nearly impossible. Each gen is a minute and a half, and that's if you don't stop for one second to do any other task. 6-7 minutes is more realistic if you have a good team against a booty killer.

That's the issue.
You have to farm in order to rank up.
Farm? No. Play the game. You shouldn't Gen Jockey the entire game, get chased the entire game, or just go for altruism the entire game. Switch Gen Roles, switch on unhooks, etc. If you're in a solo match, then don't be afraid to get into a chase for a little while. If you're playing against dookie killers than I'm sorry. But so far I've played a few good killers where getting 5 gens done isn't the easiest thing in the world. Pipping isn't supposed to happen every game, depending on which Rank you're at. If I made a new account and played, I would pip or double pip every game until I got to mid Purple ranks. It's just how the game goes, but for me. If games go too fast for you or the original discussion poster, than look to change variables in the game that make pipping easier. Play with a coordinated SWF, run certain perks, etc.
-
Not really for me, just try to get in chases more often and go for unhooks.
-
I think the emblem system needs a change overall, but I like the idea of being rewarded based on how well you achieved the goals of the game. A perfect game is hard in and of itself unless you're planning on doing it, taking precautions and things of that sort. I could double pip and get less BP than a trashcan in my game that did nothing but Gen Jockey and unhook when he wanted. Not cool considering I got all Iridescent emblems. Like the idea but I do personally believe the entire ranking system needs an overhaul.

It's 107% at top-tier which makes everything an infinite against Huntress.
CORRECTION- that came out wrong about the looping, yes people are looping during the ECG to ensure everybody that is alive gets out, but not running a infinite. In my personal experience.

Sorry, the 104% was from when the perk first dropped. But is everybody going to play Huntress when you run the perk? Also, it's an end game perk so it doesn't help you throughout the game, and even during the end game collapse who is looping? Not an argument, just a discussion. I like to see what you think, and maybe you can change my mind.
-
I play 75/25, mostly a survivor. But I do understand the benefits and the downsides of the new Ruin. As a survivor I'm not happy, I prefer a competition and not having Ruin at the beginning of the game is almost a guaranteed 3 gen pop within 5 minutes (for me and my group, not guranteed for every game). Yes, more double pip-ing and ranking up, but until gen times are fixed the game will be a cake walk for me during a SWF. On the killer side it's not fun for many high tier killers, but there will finally be a meta switch.. the first new killer meta in god knows how long. It will separate the good killers from the bad killers, and it'll finally help beginner Killers get the idea that you have to run ruin, or you'll lose, mentality out of their heads. I can't wait to see what killers bring to the table. Great post by the way!

There's really no competition when it comes to best exhaustion perk.
Dead Hard is OK but can easily be countered with a well-timed lunge.
Lithe is only good for extending a chase at a jungle-gym or for the getaway vault build.
Head-On is actually a very nice perk but doesn't work well alone.
Adrenaline is gay and shouldn't be a choice. Hope is better anyway.
Balanced Landing would've easily taken the cake if it wasn't nerfed. But we know the devs, the PTB isn't meant to provide feedback to changes, it's meant for you to get used to the changes because the devs never change anything in the PTB.
Vigil is only good for 99ing Sprint Burst.
I like your opinions, except on adrenaline. It's a phenomenal perk in the Red Ranks but it also takes away another perk that could be helping you prolong the game. Hope in my opinion is a garbage perk because even at tier 3 you're running at 104%, compared to the killers 115%. You're not going to be looping at the EGC. Adrenaline gives you a 150% 5 second boost and a health state heal. So it can help you in slugging situations, making distance on a tunneling killer, and or just getting to the exit gates before the killer can down you. Nonetheless, great post.

Survivor is easy, but especially with a bad or mediocre killer. Green ranks you should be guaranteed to pip or double pip. Once you play Red Rank killers the games get longer, they run better perks, better builds and have a better sense of game IQ. The game has always been survivor sided, but the case is different for everybody that plays the game. If you know the maps, if you run a good build, and if you have good awareness on the killer, it should be easy. But it also depends on the killer. I know spirits that would never ever let 3 escape in 5 minutes. I mean never. Just because they're good at the game and know what to do in many situations. I've had many games where i double pip'd and was genuinely upset about the competition. But o'boy does that change. Every game has different variables, pallet spawns, loop spawns, killer perks etc. It's easy maybe 2/10 games until you get to red ranks. Then i'd say its easy every 20/100 games. Just keep playing and you'll see.
-
No. Should be lengthened.

It saved my life on countless occasions. Even though dedicated servers screwed it up, it's still useful. Lithe is a close second though.
I don't like the rest of them very much because they feel way too situational for me.
Also, Lithe appears twice in the options.
Thank you!

For survivor it depends on your party size, rank, and the pool of killers at that rank. For killer it depends on what rank you are. Red rank survivors take the longest to get a game, meanwhile Red rank killers have a queue time of 30-40 seconds. Weird right? BHVR needs to fix some stuff. I suggest not staying at rank 1 survivor to lower queue times, i had to de-rank myself to rank 2 in order to find games consistently. Most survivors play around 4pm - 9pm EST, and there's killers playing at all ranks almost 24/7. Just gotta catch the servers at a good time I guess.
-
Survivors are sadly favored. Killers look for a survivor mistake, and if there isn't one made then 5 gens will be popped in a single chase, especially with the new Ruin.

wouldnt say dbd has the most toxic community, and i dont see the point you want to make. So, the toxic community doesn't want the game to have new content ? I dont get your point.
I'm saying the community doesn't like change. New content is amazing, but a game-mode is content that the community doesn't want. They always say that it would make the queue times already longer. I've mentioned a competitive game-mode and everybody is against it due to their skill levels not being up to par with what I was suggesting. A new game-mode would take a huge rework to the game (cross-play, new servers, a DLC that draws more people back to the game, etc.) That's the point I'm trying to make. Yes, no matter what you say the community is very toxic when it comes to making change to the game.
-
Definitely a possibility. The game needs a big rework, but BHVR has the most toxic community and a new mode would never be a possibility without a cult community.

🤔 You're the one saying stupid stuff. Killers lose every game? Really?
It's a hyperbole. In my opinion, I'm actually good at the game compared to most red ranks. I only play with other good players, so in my case 8 out of 10 games are escaped or pip'd on. So killers lose most games in my case, keyword "my". Hyperbole, an exaggeration to get to a point.
-
She's still good. Facing top, top, tier players is a little bit of a challenge. But the majority of players get mind gamed so bad that a 4k is inevitable.
-

I'd only be okay with the new Ruin if it wasn't a Hex. Otherwise revert it back to how it was or go back to the drawing board. The best course of action for killers as well as survivors would be to just make gen times longer. That way killers don't need to use a "crutch perk" and survivors won't have to cry about difficult skill checks.
I agree, the change is just fine if it weren't a hex. But sadly it is. Gen times need fixed, always have. 25 seconds added on will balance the game amazingly. (opinion)
-
So how long would it have an exhaustion effect? 40/50/60? If so, tier 3 BT would be used just as the current BT is used. I say the best way to balance the perk would be to give it an exposed effect for a short duration, and even then I don't see a way to "balance" a perk that balances the game. Without BT you're subject to double hooks, and or a slug to apply pressure for the killer. If BT was an exhaustion perk, the cool-down would have to be 2+ minutes in order to make a change to the current game-play we already have at high tier ranks.

To add on to what I said, the idea of casual and competitive queues had been brought up hundreds of times... there’s a reason they’ve never implemented it
They've never implemented it because of the community they have. As a person who loves the game and is good but doesn't get anything for it, I'd love a mode with rewards for being at the skill level I'm at. Cosmetics and bragging rights as you call them, are the few rewards you can get for playing the mode. Like I said, I'm a player, not a developer. With their brains combined you can get an amazing reward system, which can appease the competitive community as you can call them.

You would be in the VAST MINORITY choosing playing this mode. Unless someone wants to tell me I’m wrong cosmetics and “bragging rights,” will not make people want to play against the top players. Especially killers, they will not want to choose a queue where they are going to play against sweaty survivors even with one less perk.
Cosmetics, please there are so many that even unique ones for playing ranked wouldn’t draw much attention. Plus any game with that kind of thing inevitably ends up with players selling runs. Three man SWF could charge solo players to carry them to wins.
Again, if people wanna chime in and tell me I’m wrong I’d be open to hear some feedback.
I suggested a two man queue cap, this can cause survivors to be a lot more professional in the way they play. VAST MINORITY of course. All competitive game modes throughout history are played by the minority, because the majority aren't great at the game. Par at best and so they decide to play the casual game mode.

So... can't play with more than 1 friend,
Killer can take away 1 of my perks,
Repairing generators takes longer,
I'll be limited on which perks I can bring,
and to top it all off there's no reward for this gamemode?
However you assure me that you are not Killer sided (based on...?) and that this balance things out.
I just don't see how you get to that conclusion.
"Survivors will get there fair shake in the long run, and i'll explain further to your replies."
I said that, so act on it. I'm a survivor main and I would love to explain further to your questions. You're acting like this idea is #########, just read my discussion and ask, make civil comments, anything but making assumptions. I want the mode to be as balanced as anybody else.

The point is you want a game mode balanced for 4k kills per game. Why on earth would anyone play survivor there?
No, not balanced for 4k kills per game. I said at the end of my first post, and I quote. "Survivors will get there fair shake in the long run, and i'll explain further to your replies." ASK ME QUESTIONS, I'm a survivor main and I can easily explain how it can be balanced for both parties. Don't make a cretinous comment like you did and maybe you'll understand the mode I'm suggesting, and you may agree by the end of the discussion.

@Actually_Jesus said:
This has been suggested multiple times, and it's still a terrible idea.
Yes, let's split the community even more with two different queues. As if queue times aren't long enough. As well, the game is casual. Not competitive. Just because of it's RNG nature it can never BE competitive.
The fix is balance; and it IS possible to balance around ALL ranks at the same time.
The RNG nature is an easy fix. There can be competitive only maps, where both the killer and survivors can learn and practice on. The queue times can easily be fixed as well with a few changes to the ranking system. Terrible idea? Maybe to a casual. But if you play the game wanting a challenge, and wanting the game to be at least a little bit different than it has been the last 4 years, then a competitive mode (which can be called something else) is a phenomenal idea. I'm just a player. The development team can come up with a mode that is a million times more polished than my ideas.
-
@johnmwarner said:
@TommyFredo I still haven't seen you tell us WHY we would want to play the competitive mode?
The same reason there are competitive game modes in other games. For ranking, for leaderboard placing, earn cosmetics, play the best of the best in the game. I've been a red rank survivor for a good amount of time and the game gets easier by the day. The best killers I play in today's mode can barely stop a 5 gen rush. So to make a game mode where I'm actually playing the best of the best will make somebody like me (that likes competition) very happy. Winning all the time gets old.
-
@GodDamn_Angela said:
You can't say these things and then say you aren't Killer sided. You are, its not even a little questionable.
Read the discussion. I said to reply and i'll explain why the survivors will get their fair shake. I'm a survivor main, and I believe the games are too easy. Killers lose every game, even top tier killers. Ask questions and create a discussion instead of saying stupid #########.
-
@VincentRedfield said:
So you want a regular mode and a mode balanced around 4 kills per game? Why exactly would anyone play survivor in that mode?. 4 man SWF already has an under 50% escape rate.
That's the point, SWF's aren't always top 5% players. If so, a great SWF can escape 100% of the time. That's all opinionated and can be fixed with a few easy updates.
-
@johnmwarner said:
Anything that splits modes will cause queue times to be longer.
Alos what benefit is there to playing competitive? Otherwise people will play casual and still be try hard sweaty.
there can be a ranking system, and queue times can easily be fixed by putting in maybe 1-10 ranks that are achieved by doing more than receiving emblems. Such as a buddy ranking system. Queue times are also going to be fixed by only allowing you to queue with one other person that must be significantly close in rank. This can easily be perfected by a good development crew. I'm just a DBD player. Regular DBD can still be there, queue times will be long unless new changes are made regardless of if there's two modes or one. So if there's a rank that can put your name on the map, including leaderboards, implementing cross-play for all platforms, then this idea can easily be put into fruition and perfected over an amount of time if BHVR really wants to put in the work.

My thoughts on new ruin? Honestly my biggest take away is how a perk was used so heavily and now all these killer gods have risen from the depths telling all us peasants the key to victory is pReSSurE gENs.
the key to "victory" is different for almost everybody. My victory means getting over 2 kills, and pipping at least once. If your victory is 4king and getting a Merciless, then yes the ruin change is going to hurt you. But relying on one perk to "win" you a game is for low skill players. All an opinion.
