*Not that it's deserved always*
But if you 4k by any means, or 3k with a hatch escape within X amount of time. What if you automatically double pipped as killer? This would do one of two things:
Take killers who are clearly below their rank and fast track them to higher ranks where they belong
Or
Take people who got lucky/Mori etc and fast track them into ranks higher than their skill where they will get bullied for a few games to get pushed back down.
Personally I hate 4k or 3k with hatch and "you won too fast, so black pip"... In the cases where you actually are just too good for your current rank (returning from a break or something) why linger at low ranks for winning too quickly?
Now. I don't mind hanging out at low ranks. Makes me feel like a better killer than I am. I probably belong at rank 7ish. But if I'm black pipping on the regular at rank 15 for killing too fast, that's a bit unfair to the 15s unless I purposely go easy...
On the other hand if you kill too fast due to luck, you will end up in the opposite scenario, where the killer faces survivors with skills beyond the killers. And they will black pip properly (due to lack of kills, pressure, etc).
Just a thought.
End result:
Good killers get to their rank faster
Some killers will be pushed into higher ranks than they belong, giving those survivors an easy game, but pushing the killer back down.
I think Merciless and 4k shouldnt be related, or we would end up in a full Freddy NOED meta, so meh. However it should always be related to which killer your playing, having a general system for all the killers is stupid because a Spirit/Freddy/Good Nurse dont do the same as a Trapper/Clown/Cannibal, I mean, how are you supposed to pressure gens like a Freddy when you have to put all those traps down in early game.
So my take is emblems rating should be related to the killer you're playing, not about kill or that, but how you did as THIS killer.
-
I think it's a bad idea because Endgame is already tense enough when you're having a fair match
To make it last longer, it should be in early game, so Trapper, Hag, Oni, Shape, all those killers that do very poorly at the beginning of the game are not punished for being bad during this time.

I just love the new dlc and i mean, isnt dbd just repetition of matches against the newest killer / high tier killers all the time ?
We had a week of only demo, a week of only oni, a week of only doc, and now only deathslinger, and sometimes between all that you get 3 Forever Freddies and 2 Spirits. Almost as if it wasnt new that player prefer the new killers uh.
-
I'm glad they changed where was the breakable wall on shack, but i agree that I expected better changes
I'm not mad they took a week to be sure nothing really game breaking would come out but yeah
i guess we will get more balancing of the new perks / Deathslinger in next mid-chapter then

From what I've been told, it seems to just be steams payment section being down at the moment.
So unfortunately there's nothing Peanits or anyone else can do, you'll just have to wait until steam brings it back up. Super unlucky timing for the release of Chapter 15, but there's nothing BHVR can really do about steams affairs.
urgh the sadness hits me like a traiiin
we have such a bad luck ahah
anyway thank you for helping

I agree entirely with the community health section
I think people who are reported for using racial/sexual slurs should be banned from talking in the chat permanently. It's an idea of punishment like another that could punish toxicity. Maybe it could also escalate like the disconnection penalties, and in the end you are banned forever from talking in the chat, and people will see some kind of "muted" emblem to signify it.
For the console optimization thing, I think they have a separated team for it (if i'm right), so it's possible they are less to work on console stuff than pc stuff (because pc is majoritary in the community etc). I hope it eventually comes for console players.
And they work actively on getting rid of glitches, and now have a live team that will probably help for that. Of course, some glitches stay known but hey it's the case with a lot of games.
Reworking Moris and keys are necessary to make the game fair and not end prematurely.
Also Hangman's trick is getting reworked next chapter and is gonna be very strong if they didnt nerf it
Honestly, I think you mainly have a lot of good ideas, and I would appreciate a lot if they decided to sacrifice an upcoming dlc to clean a bigger part of the game than Mid-chapters do.

There is no rule against hiding the entire game. Now, you will probably die, make your team mates extremely mad and get almost no BP and probably lose a PIP but it is 100% a legit strategy. Wasting time?????...shocking as this is you can find the survivor you know? If he/she is the last one you can find the hatch and close it starting the EGC, if all gens are done you can open the gate and start the EGC countdown as well. If I get to the point where there is just me and one other and we have 4 or 5 gens to do...it's hide and seek time baby. I'm not going anywhere near a gen and if it takes you ten minutes to find me that's on you.
yeah but it's extremely annoying to be against 2 blendettes on Mother's Dwelling, doing nothing
without whispers, good luck having fun

I agree with that.
Remember when Hallowed Blight got delayed due to a game breaking bug devs found?
I was completely cool with it, I want the game to work, not for the game to not work
Plus, they have extra reasons to be careful after how broken the Oni chapter was, they dont want that to happen again xD it took until midchapter to clean the mess it did
-
@Hoodied said:
They never said the release date, so I see people getting mad because BHVR is waiting a week for this update to release.
That is a good thing that they are delaying it as more bugs are being fixed, along with more balancing to the killers perks and survivor perks.
And I do remember that they said to not follow patterns, as these patterns can change
I personally think (probably just me) that I want it to be the coolest possible, so if the devs think they must do some more work, then let them do it. Sure it can be frustrating having to wait, but I prefer that than a poorly finished dlc with gamebreaking glitches all around

Only two of those screenshots were SWF, a 4-Man and a 2-Man. Thinking they were a full squad just shows how insane high ranks are for killer, only further proving my point that-that's what high rank killers have to go against and why you keep getting matched up with green and yellow rank killers.
did you read what i said or just took random words to make "swf is the problem and make killer quits so im right" in your head ?
I said, if there are long queues at higher ranks, it's because swf take survivors from the lower ranks and put them in high ranks matches, making that there are not enough killers, not because killers quit playing. Plus new rank reset makes it way easier to stay in high ranks so even more survivors
one last time :
it is not related to the population's size on the game and your pointless theory of "playing killer is too hard so people dont play killer"
-
leaks said March 10 and Peanits seemed to say it's the case unless they discover some major problems to fix
They take they time because they probably don't want to recreate the Oni chapter where, gosh, that was a lot of game breaking glitches
-
@Speshul_Kitten said:
Kinda long but please read. I will illustrate what playing killer is and survivor is like at higher ranks so we can have a better mutual understanding of the issue at hand.
When playing killer role, you are the driver in the vehicle, except, the vehicle is a self-driving Tesla which hasn't even made it to the beta stage, so if just one mistake occurs you might be [BAD WORD HERE], which gives you the illusion that you might be in control because you're the Killer, or in this case the "driver" only to find out that it is just a title and nothing more. The whole time you're in stress not knowing what's gonna happen only that you have to do your best to try and press on the brakes of the car that the engineers forgot to tell you were there only for display purposes.
The only way to have some control over this vehicle is using a special type of "Killer" or in this case steering wheel that will let you maneuver some, however, you still cannot touch the pedal of the car, only make the car itself try to take a longer route to the endgame destination.
Then there is survivor role, you're the pedal of the vehicle, you determine the speed of the car and how fast you want it to make it to your destination, or in this case, the endgame.
Sure everybody makes it to the endgame eventually, except some pay a higher price in stress and focus than others. It is at this point that as Killer that I feel that I'm doing BHVR a favor when I decide to play killer, and yes decide because at the end of the day I don't HAVE TO play killer at all if I don't want to. As killer, you don't get anything out of it anymore, and the amount of energy and focus required to play is ridiculously stressful and unrewarding. Whereas survivor, I can walk to my fridge mid-game and two gens will still have popped regardless.
If you notice there's a patter in these screenshots, it's not necessarily the items brought it, but the Killers available to "drive" this vehicle. NONE of these games were fun by the way, try to at least understand that part.
The last screenshot is from a guy who I've played with and against who is actually a really good player, but I guess those days are over, I'd say "pretty good job so far," but really, it hasn't been at all...
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/485/YUGNCZ5G71WX.jpg

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/705/NHGEZ88X2FPM.jpg
So you're just clickbaiting by saying "oh that's because people stop playing killer" when it's NOT related AT ALL to the population's size on the game, it's related to the division of the population (mainly swf making it unbalanced and making survivor queues longer)
-
Clown and Bubba (+ Billy's add-ons but i mean, if they rework Bubba they will do that at the same time)
Also stop voting for Legion
Legion. Is. Fine.

I'm pretty sure No Mither doesn't completely remove the blood, but it just disappears almost instantly. Your best bet is to just hide with stuff like Spine Chill or Urban Evasion and try not to get injured. I may be wrong about No Mither though.
well if that's the case it's so boring i'll not even try for it, i'll just probably get it randomly at some point during an extremely unfair match (against a rank 20 or something)
-
@GHOSTfaceP3 said:
as the The title states they wanna nerf The synergy between killer slowdown perks well I hope there consistent and do the same for survivors ..one is fine even two but when every survivor has at least 3 it gets very strong especially with swf
I mean, you want them to give exhaustion to all the strong perks ? but here's an idea tho, Adrenaline cant activate if you're exhausted, and decisive strike stops if you hook another survivor / the survivor works on a gen (you can heal, be chased, hide, etc)
Done, i balanced the perks people cry about.

sure if i get hard tunneled / facecamped it wont be fun (i would laugh so hard if there was an Oni player facecamping me, really wow what a waste)
but if the match is not unfair, sure it's fun !, especially when you bait him into attacking and then juke it, it's the best feeling.

Which killer do you think has more potential than people give them? For me i would have to say the Pig, she's fun to play and really strong with STBFL.
Let me know down below!
Pig, all day I will claim that she's the most underrated
Plague is underrated too, but now that she will get a rotten apple on base game, I think people will get how strong she is. Legion too, they are fun and dont deserve to be on the same rank as Clown.
And finally I'd finish by saying that Nurse is the strongest. The nerf she got just made a "selection" between good Nurses and bad Nurses (even tho it's not very nice for baby Nurses, i'll agree, but the skillcap is even higher than before with her now.)

My usual red ranks SWF and I played about 8 games yesterday, now...
EVERY GAME, I repeat... EVERY GAME we got to play against a yellow rank...
I don't know if it's a matchmaking new problem (we did get to play against a yellow every now and then, but not this constantly) or high ranks killers are leaving.
It's not fun to escape when facing a killer with this CLEAR disadvantage even when we never bring in toolboxes
matchmaking is broken that's all.
-
but killers already have add-ons to do that (some) and they are already faster than survivors, so, im not against the idea, but i dont see well how you could balance it, knowing some killers are faster than others, etc

Pebble can be used in dead areas away from gens. Also isn't affected by EGC. You could pebble a door, then open the other one. You can also see the area you're effecting at all times. Only downside is charge and the terror radius requirement.
What you said is kinda, oblivious.
The power of Red Herring is it's on a gen. The weakness of Pebble is it's anywhere. Because if the killer connects two braincells, he'll get there's something off. Why would there be a sound notification at a door, or in a dead area ? it doesnt make any sense. While with Red Herring, it's always a gen, and now this is "scary" because it would mean someone failed a gen skillcheck which is way more logical than the pebble in the middle of nowhere.
The only thing Pebble is better at is you can use it during endgame, which isnt the case of Red Herring.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Could be used similarly to pebble in a situation like that, lol
well, isnt Red Herring the better Pebble after all ?

and what do you think its gonna be ? literally 2 of 3 new survivor perks are useless in solo but in swf are incredibly strong and fun.. see ? devs want you to play with friends to earn more money ez :)
i mean, off the record is just distortion and iron will and lucky breakout but in weaker so yeah, i guess if you dont want to put iron will on it's a good thing but yeah, bad perk [unless object of obsession, it's terrifying if it works together]
Red Herring can be pretty fun/strong without comms too (just be sure your mates arent on the gen)
And For the People is a strong anti-slug, but as you said, instoppable on comms, but hard to find a use in common games on solo queue.

For the People will be extremely strong for SWF parties. You know when people said that pallet picking perk would be extremely strong but here we are having a nearly useless perk for solo players.
So you're telling me retribution is stronger than BT, Unbreakable, DH or DS? No!
didnt say that
i'm just not agreeing with you saying the new perks are all useless

for months now. It's dedicated servers. To be clear, the survivors see you, and go away, but for you with the bit of latency, they still were on the gen (about to go away) when you clicked on that grab button; since the survivor was already "away" on their side, you'll just stand there for a second, see the survivor run, and the game will interrupt the grab.
-
@WRussoW said:
You know damn well that the game has only a small amount of perks that actually matter and give survivors real chances of survival, looking at you DS.
So, you got a small amount of usable perks... And a whole bunch of perks you either use because you don't have anything better or because you want to meme around. Maybe they aren't THAT bad but you simply can't compare the effectiveness of Borrowed Time and Alert no matter what. Why wouldn't you buff weak perks survivors have, NOBODY would be against it.
Like, is anyone here against buffing Ace's perks? For real, this dude has simply WORST perks
with Ace in the Hole being just okay only for farmbuilds.New killer perks are not better by the way but at least due to unique playstyle of each killer some bad perks can be decent.
Why is it taking so long to add something to Distortion, who on the Earth uses this perk? Is there any reason why you won't allow perks like Boil Over get on at least the same level as Inner Strengh, for example?
For the People is an extremely strong perk.
And Retribution will be very useful in a lot of builds.

Nurse is good. Nurse is still the strongest. Nurse just needs even more skill to play her (sure it's not nice to baby nurses, but it's still fair, baby huntresses have it hard too). She's perfect now (except maybe too much gimmick add-ons but whatever)

Hello, I seem to have a problem. I was playing a survivor match against a spirit and had gotten tunneled, but I had Decisive strike on so I wasn't too worried. The first time I went to hit it, I missed :P But when I went to hit it the second time (note that this was almost immediately after the first hook), a Quentin with borrowed time had gotten me off the hook and I took the hit so as to not waste the borrowed time. I went down with a second hit while going thru a window, and while my lithe said it activated, I had been hit before I could get the speed boost. What I thought odd though was that I was unable to use Decisive, even though all this had happened within the allotted time of use (I have tier 3, so less than 60 seconds). I didn't get the skill check, even though the perk was lit up like I was able to use it. Is this a bug? Or is it just something I hadn't been made aware of until now? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :D
You missed the skill check so DS deactivated.
DS can only be conserved if you DONT hit the space bar

That's not a good thing.
If a game breaking bug comes out like the basement bug are they actually going to pull the killswitch for it? who knows.
More importantly what happens if they do? people are being told they can't disconnect. If that restriction gets removed for a week due to a problem with the game, what do you think players will do with that freedom? disconnects would skyrocket and literally become a meme.
This is not well thought out. But good luck to them actually delivering an update for once that doesn't break the game in some way.
well actually we wont have to wait too long to see it if the next chapter is as broken as Oni's arrival in the game

Anything counts, otherwise you'd end up with people forcing their game to crash to avoid penalties, but if we notice a surge of crashes (or a game breaking issue), we have a killswitch to disable the system just in case. Right now, the number of crashes is incredibly low.
okay, fair enough then

It was one minute for the first one during the last test, although a lot of people would completely miss that first timeout by the time they re-opened the game, so it was increased. It's still low enough that it's not going to ruin your whole night the first time it happens.
arf okay i guess
but a last question please, can you confirm game-crashing glitches doesnt count for the ban system ?

You created a thread here, complaining that you disconnected and were punished for it. Yet, I'm the one crying.
Seems legit.
😂
I personally don't care if you DC on me as a killer. It doesn't bother me. I was just calling it as I see it. Someone literally complaining about a justified punishment (of literally only 5 minutes); and then turning around and saying someone else is crying.
i'm complaining that the first dc ban is 5 minutes long ? i was expecting to get punished of course whatever why i would dc, but 5 minutes is pretty damn long for a first penalty ban, and i remember seeing when the first tests came out that the first penalty was 1 minute long (maybe i'm wrong but i thought that one was fair enough)
-
@Peanits said:
The times are set manually, there isn't an equation that you can use to calculate the time.

This was a deserved penalty. Stop trying to deviate. You deserved it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1093774#Comment_1093774
That's funny, cause I'm on holiday and have played like 8-10 hours a day (rift grind!) since the DC penalties have been out...not a single crash while in game. I had an infinite loading screen bug, but I can now confirm those don't result in a DC punishment, just like @Peanits said.
well that's good if that's not the case ? and i didnt say my game crashed, i said i would be very annoyed if my game crashed and i was penalized for it. And stop crying gosh, did i insult your grandma or what ? i didnt ruin the fun for any-one, that dc was harmless so why crying that much because i clicked that "leaving game" button at the end of the match ?

DCing is not a play style, nor is it a meme. All you did was steal sacrifice points from the killer.
Don't DC, erase it from your mind as a play style. I really don't give a crap if you were memeing. Just knock it off and you won't be punished.
wow you really are the funny guy here
you think i disconnect every match and wait 10 minutes in the eg chat to say "WAS MEMEING YOU POS KILLER" or what
dont you see the joking around of the situation, the comical effect of it ? But sure, I guess I robbed that poor trappy of 800 bloodpoints
