Red Herring sandbagging

ok, i just had a completely stupid idea

What if you start with a friend on a gen, then go away and activate Red Herring to send the killer on them.

That would be hilarious on swf.

  • and what do you think its gonna be ? literally 2 of 3 new survivor perks are useless in solo but in swf are incredibly strong and fun.. see ? devs want you to play with friends to earn more money ez :)

i mean, off the record is just distortion and iron will and lucky breakout but in weaker so yeah, i guess if you dont want to put iron will on it's a good thing but yeah, bad perk [unless object of obsession, it's terrifying if it works together]

Red Herring can be pretty fun/strong without comms too (just be sure your mates arent on the gen)

And For the People is a strong anti-slug, but as you said, instoppable on comms, but hard to find a use in common games on solo queue.

Could be used similarly to pebble in a situation like that, lol

well, isnt Red Herring the better Pebble after all ?

  • Pebble can be used in dead areas away from gens. Also isn't affected by EGC. You could pebble a door, then open the other one. You can also see the area you're effecting at all times. Only downside is charge and the terror radius requirement.

What you said is kinda, oblivious.

The power of Red Herring is it's on a gen. The weakness of Pebble is it's anywhere. Because if the killer connects two braincells, he'll get there's something off. Why would there be a sound notification at a door, or in a dead area ? it doesnt make any sense. While with Red Herring, it's always a gen, and now this is "scary" because it would mean someone failed a gen skillcheck which is way more logical than the pebble in the middle of nowhere.

The only thing Pebble is better at is you can use it during endgame, which isnt the case of Red Herring.

Huh. Just looked it up. Didn't realize there was a range limitation of 20 meters.

Still, you chain it with a fast vault to lure them over then pebble another vault when the killer is near it should confuse them a bit. Difference is you're putting yourself more in danger than everyone else who happen to wander near the gen.

And if the killer is worth their salt, they'll ignore notifications and focus on zoning areas they know they can control.

  • Hilarious in SWF but I can already see solo queue teammates trolling with this perk. I don't like anything that enables sandbagging.
