just encase you have not seen it @ForsakenM this is a nice little video of a Dev stream from a while back.

Get over it people.

TBH, I'm not sure I'm against anything that results in fewer matches against the Spirit.
-
My favorite is definitely Myers, spooky boi's name is earned.
Least favorite is definitely hag. The automatic camera jerking caused by her traps is complete and total bullshit.
-
Because the perk is overpowered to the point that it's nearly mandatory as a solo survivor. Not only does it give you a large number of second chances, allow hook diving against campers, and allow for more risky behavior, but it also directly counters one killer (Freddy), and directly counters a plethora of status effects.
-
This problem isn't going to be addressed until the game has dedicated hosts.
-
Ultra rare addons SHOULD be terrifying. Some of the others could use a buff, but Iridescent Hatchets are one of the most balanced iridescent addons in the game.

I wonder what Leatherface would look like wearing Nea's face...Yeah, Nea is definitely the creepiest killer in the game.

Definitely the Backwater Swamp. It's just an eyesore.
-
You're essentially asking them to rebuild the game balance almost from scratch. I don't see that ever happening.
-
My preferred survivor is definitely Kate. As for being hunted, I definitely enjoy Myers more than any of the others by a significant margin. Those jump scares are the real deal.
-
You don't lose either items or bloodpoints if you hard dc.
-
While I like the general idea behind this, I'm not sure what the best way to implement would be. I'm not too fond of the idea of a locked POV; maybe something like a persistent springlook effect during interactions?

This suggestion does not change camping in the slightest. This suggestion simply makes it more beneficial for the Killer to leave the hook. You did not read my suggestion and are assuming this is yet another "slow down Entity progression when the Killer is near the hook" thread, or something akin to it when it's literally the opposite. There is no reason to set up a reward like this without a desired behavior modification. It's not going to have any effect, thus your proposition is essentially "Hey, let's throw more points at this standard gameplay element."

They already do more than enough. Camping is a killer's prerogative. It's already a bad strategic choice. There's no amount of additional penalty they can add that is going to deter a killer who's determined to secure a kill, short of granting automatic Dead Hard to everyone.
Alright, I'm going to assume you didn't read the suggestion. Let me know when you do.
I read it, and it isn't going to be any more effective than the other asinine suggestions about camping that spam these forums every single day. If a killer is determined to secure a kill, either because they don't realize it's a bad strategic choice, or they're pissed at a teabagging survivor, or the gates just popped and there's no reason for them to leave the hook, these suggestions aren't going to change that.
The developers have said on multiple occasions that camping is a viable (if usually bad) strategy. Let it go.

BBQ, Devour Hope, and MYC already reward non-camping.

Thirded. I don't dislike the circus theme, but I like the original theme much more. I can understand having the new music for a month or two, but Curtain Call was released ages ago. We'll obviously have a new theme playing once the new DLC is released, so it would be nice to put in this option to alleviate the issue going forward.

Is it really that hard to take TEN SECONDS to spot the legion of other threads on this topic with the exact same answers you're seeing here? No, camping isn't an issue. No, nothing is going to be changed to discourage more than what's already in place.
i will tell you the same thing i told the other guy (If your rude/toxic/hateful/or just acting stupid i will ignore your comments give reasons to back your facts and opinions not just anything)
You want facts? Fine.
"The idea of a killer hooks a survivor and does a light patrol or staying very close by, it’s always going to stay a valid game mechanic. It’s not encouraged, or the best way to play the game. There are people who try to secure a kill for pip purposes, or for they like to secure a kill. If you hook someone up and there are scratches everywhere, running away from the hook is kinda a dumb move."

Anyone have a link to the videos? Anti-naming and shaming policies are bullshit if you have blatant evidence like that. The name and shame rule exists because of mob mentality. Justice is not equal retribution and people aren't guilty just because it looks that way to you, no matter how much knee-jerk reactionaries want to believe it is.
Sorry, can't hear what you're saying over the sound of "BURN THE WITCH".

While I'd love to vote in this poll, sadly my main Kate Denson isn't listed, so...

The entity stole the voice of the survivors. The only thing they can do is scream in pain and wave and point.
They dont need more. The rules are made by the entitus as the one above me said, and the entity dont want ANYONE talking. Even the killers dont talk. Only grunts of pain.
There's possibly some truth to this. Even in the Curtain Call trailer, you don't hear Kate singing, just the guitar, and a gasp at the end.

lol @ Console plebs

Out of all the things I'm concerned about with this game, the ethnicity of survivors ranks somewhere down with 'Why didn't the Entity put toilets anywhere?'

Actually their wiki stated before the last stream that it was going to release today.. then Mcote stated on stream no confirmation and the date of release was switched but still speculated to be 9/11.............. so eat it
The wiki is updated by players, not the devs, afaik.

I spent the entire weekend running this perk alongside Dance With Me, Windows of Opportunity and Lithe. Here's my observations:
- My initial idea for the BBQ counter would definitely be overpowered, so I agree with @Skarkio that would definitely be a bit too much.
- There was only one situation where Boil Over was actually useful - the killer swayed into a wall briefly and had a double body block by teammates. Without the killer mistake caused by the sway, I wouldn't have gotten the drop. But that is one game out of around 50 that I played this weekend.
- I still think the numbers could use a mild buff - I would increase the sway to 75%/100%/125% so that Iron Grasp no longer completely counters it (though it will still help tremendously), and increase the hook aura suppression to about 16/18/20 meters.
- In disagreement with @Skarkio, I don't think this is a perk that should be dependent entirely on teammates to be useful. While I don't think it should be single-handedly getting you drops on a regular basis, I do think it should frequently extend the time spent carrying you to a hook by a noticeable amount, and get a drop every so often, neither of which is achieved by the current version of the perk.
- Regarding the above, I DON'T want Boil Over to be another DS, or anywhere near that level of effectiveness (I'm firmly in the camp that both DS and SC are horribly overpowered and need to be nuked from orbit). But I also don't want it sitting in the pile of useless perks, of which we have far too many already, since I really like the idea behind Boil Over.

I don't understand this one - Boil Over, the perk? The only survivor perk that actually notifies the killer isn't available yet (Distraction). What the OP means is that when you're carrying a survivor who has Boil Over, you see a Boil Over debuff icon down next to your perks.
-
I play both. I prefer killer, but the game is pretty heavily biased towards survivors currently. I hope they can buff killers such that we see more than just Billy or Nurse at top ranks.
-
@Delfador said:
You, as a survivor main, would consider all that changes fairly balanced? You know what they say about assuming. I'm not a survivor or a killer main, I do about 50/50 each. Your buff to PGtW is too extreme to be taken seriously. I just want to see a more even distribution of perks such that we don't have such a constant meta of the same perks being used by everyone. That would mean buffing UP perks like Boil Over, and nerfing OP perks like Self-Care and Decisive Strike. I've been trying to work Boil Over into my current build, and in its current form it feels like a waste of a slot, even compared to other lackluster perks like Windows of Opportunity.
I also agree that Boil Over shouldn't be triggering free escapes. However, the problem is that with the current version of the perk, even when the killer makes a mistake or three, it's not enough for Boil Over to come into play, which it should.
-
No, because toxicity is almost completely subjective. Some survivors seem to think that the killer staying on the same map after a hook is toxic.
-
I've been using the Lithe + Dance with Me + Quick & Quiet + Lightweight to be a really, really fun combo. Ninja vanish! poof!

that's way too much power to stack onto a single perk...
You know... a survivor main need as many safenets as it takes to ensure they escape the match alive, that's what they call a "fairly balanced" perk (ask a killer main if he considers all those changes as "fairly balanced")
It's actually not. The current wiggle amount isn't even noticeable (I've never lost a hook because of the increased sway from Boil Over, and I've only ever lost one hook due to sway period and that was when I was still pretty new to the game), and the hiding of the hook auras is only marginally useful at best against experienced killers as they already know where the hooks are going to be even without the auras.

No Mither + Tenacity + Unbreakable + Iron Will = Trench Warfare Ninja

Too true, when is the last time anyone saw a clown I wonder? The clown is pretty popular in the middle ranks. I would say one of the more popular killers in that bracket. Around rank 10, I feel like I see the Clown, Cannibal, and Billy the most.

@Someissues said:
It needs a slight buff in wiggling speed, EG increase wiggle speed by 3/4/5% wiggle speedI keep seeing this, but devs have stated outright that they won't increase wiggle speed as it would be a balancing nightmare.
I think Boil Over would be fairly balanced with three changes:
1. Wiggle Sway increased by 75%/100%/125%.
2. All auras (including hooks) obscured within 12/18/24 meters while carrying
3. All auras obscured for 1/2/3 seconds after being hooked. This would do two things: make it a bit more effective than it currently is, and also position the perk as a partial counter to BBQ & Chilli (it would leave that brief second of visibility to the perk so that it's not a complete counter to it).
-
I like the idea of pulling him into the real world, though if we're being lore accurate he's usually much weaker there.
I'd personally rather keep him in the dream world but have the lullaby itself be what pulls survivors into it. His M2 ability would need a completely different function then, though.

If this go live, you will only see Claudette, because she can heal herself.I like variety.
Even more reason to nerf the hell out of that nonsense. I don't understand why the devs haven't yet fixed this ridiculously overpowered perk.

Is there a difference between what a survivor gets when a killer leaves game via menu vs what they get if the killer leaves for network means? Pretty sure I've gotten 0 points before when the killer DC'd via one of those.
-
For those who missed the memo, this is yet more targeted spam by the DbD Korean Twitter community. Please ignore it.

I'll probably grab the new shirt for Kate. I'm a bit disappointed that the new killer cosmetic is going to Huntress - she already has one of the best killer cosmetics, would have been nice to see a bit more love for one of the others.
-
Lithe combined with Dance with Me (which I'm currently already using) will give this killer trouble.
