Dont kill me but maybe a Fix to camping? Thoughts MODS/DEVS/STRICT SURVIVOR MAINS ONLY
if the killer is in x range of a hooked survivor that survivors hook regression is reduced by x amount until the killer leaves the x range of it and if he were to enter back into the x range it would activate again. this would reward killer for leaving a survivor to go look for others while punishing the killer for hook camping. there is no problem with camping except for how many killers camp which for me on Xbox is 80% of the killers i face. most of the campers are prestige 3 killers too around rank 5. this would make it so that if the killer wanted to camp a survivor then they would be hooked for a longer time before they died and no if you tried to get off the hook yourself it would still take the same amount of percent of stage 1 off. after this being added if it were and killers still camped then maybe make it to where if the killer is still in the area around the survivor for x amount of time then the reduced amount of regression could be reduced even more. thoughts? (If your rude/toxic/hateful/or just acting stupid i will ignore your comments give reasons to back your facts and opinions not just anything)
Edit 1: attempt to stop the toxic killers who want to say this was tried already or has a bunch exactly the same without showing the proof when it is clearly stated in the thread.

Already tried and abused by the Survivors, like everything else. Camping will never be punished. Deal with it.
where is said proof of this being tried and abused by survivors? or did you just see the post and fall off the deep end.
It was tried in a PTB last year, if I'm not mistaken. If you haven't even been around that long, you have no business telling me that I've "fallen off the deep end" when I tell you this is a bad idea that has already failed. Furthermore, absence of punishment is not the same as a reward.
again where is your proof? you say it was done last year, but you only say it didnt work. i ask for the proof and i said "or did you just fall off the deep end" because you didnt even read the end of my post that said in i quote "(If your rude/toxic/hateful/or just acting stupid i will ignore your comments give reasons to back your facts and opinions not just anything)" or did you ignore it thinking it was silent or something? give me the url to youtube vidoes or something that shows me they tested this EXACT fix for camping and then i will believe you and i have been playing DBD on Xbox since around 9/15/2017 (that was my first achievement date i dont know the exact date) and i have over 500 hours on DBD as a survivor main i didnt watch the dev stream videos until maybe January of 2018 so when i ask for the proof behind your facts and opinions on it im not asking for just whatever you want to say and think i will trust your word on it.
I don't know the exact stream where they said it was a failure nor the PTB where they tried it, nor do I care enough to look for either of them.
You played on a console, and consoles don't get the PTB. I play on PC, and PCs do get the PTB.
You've played for a year, give or take, I've played since the game was released.
I am telling you it's already been tried. You can either take me and everyone who's been here for a long time at our words (seriously, just look in any thread with people saying some variation of this solution thinking it's innovative or something) or you can stick to your guns and act like you know more than people who've been playing this game since its release.
i dont know more than people who have been with the game since release but if you had been and people have suggested this as much as you say then why dont you know when this was tested? i mean dont you think you would remember? i also said if you didnt have proof to back yourself up to not say anything and what did you do? you said something fully opinion based with no proof to make them facts.
You wouldn't be asking that question if you knew how many PTBs and streams there have been. And no, I don't think I would remember the exact date it was tried. Do you remember the exact date of a gaming event from last year? Do you have any idea how unreasonable it is to expect someone to remember? Can you even remember what you ate last week?
These are facts. The fact that you refuse to accept what everyone who experienced it already knows doesn't make it less true.
i remember that last year the overwatch summer games 2017 was on august 2nd and what i ate exactly one week ago for dinner was pizza from dominos that my dad got since he got off work late. im sorry i have a photographic memory but you could just stop saying stuff unless your going to take the time to look up the proof of your comments you even said you dont feel like it so then leave this post alone until you do.
Is it really that hard to take TEN SECONDS to spot the legion of other threads on this topic with the exact same answers you're seeing here?
No, camping isn't an issue. No, nothing is going to be changed to discourage more than what's already in place.
i will tell you the same thing i told the other guy (If your rude/toxic/hateful/or just acting stupid i will ignore your comments give reasons to back your facts and opinions not just anything)
there are plenty of fix camping threads but is there one that suggests the same idea as mine? i dont see any soooooo........ read my post and respect my wishes and stop being toxic
You want facts? Fine.
"The idea of a killer hooks a survivor and does a light patrol or staying very close by, it’s always going to stay a valid game mechanic. It’s not encouraged, or the best way to play the game. There are people who try to secure a kill for pip purposes, or for they like to secure a kill. If you hook someone up and there are scratches everywhere, running away from the hook is kinda a dumb move."

light patrol or very close by. meaning not in front of your face holding a chainsaw at you which is what i deal with. especially when their is 4 gens remaining and im the first person found because i used DS.
Ahh, well there's your problem. Decisive Strikes get Decisive Hooks.
You really must be new here, if you think camping is terrible now. Now we have BBQ, MYC, and DH which give killers a reason to leave the hook, and they do.
Now you barely see camping. But suddenly survivors changed the definition to get other excuses for their failure.
This was actually stated in today's stream I believe or a recent one that they attempted to do what you suggested and survivors abused the crap out of it. Dev's own mouth.
Play the game man. I'm serious. Camping sucks but the more you throw yourselves at a camped survivor, the more your proving to killers that it works. Work on generators and find totems. Let the killer have his one kill and leave the match with all the gens done in the mean time.
Basically just understand the killers are always going to cry to devs, they are always going to face camp, area camp and tunnel. They simply aren't good enough to play the game any other way.
They already tried it and it created more problems then it solved.
Then you really didn't spend much time doing your research. Your idea has been suggested with countless small variations, but the core idea remained the same: if Killer in radius x around hook, execute anti-camping mechanic y.
As for the PTB in which a slowed Hook regression was tested, that was the very first PTB in September 2016: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Public_Test_Build#PTB_.231_-_September_2016
"Strict Survivor Mains Only"
I already see the problem. You're the problem, if you really think separating the player base in a discussion is what will truly lead to balance.
And since you have Neah as your profile pic I'm just gonna jump to conclusions and says you're opinion doesn't count (kappa)
TACTICAL DOC SMACK DOWN.
Wow, it wasn't even last year, it was two years ago and the very first PTB. I really suck with dates and time intervals.
You don't have a photographic memory because there's no such thing, but keep believing if it makes you feel special. Overwatch Summer games 2017 was on August 8th, actually - https://www.polygon.com/2017/8/8/16114094/overwatch-summer-games-2017-skins-cosmetics-blizzard - thus proving that no, you don't remember the exact date of an event from last year. And unless you ate pizza the entire day, you're still missing at least two meals.
Penalties for camping are not a thing because as my colleauges already explained, those mechanics have been abused by survivors. You want proof? Here you go:
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Public_Test_Build check the first ptb (the irony eh?)
Oh and btw:
ok thank you maybe one day some god will come up with the brilliant fix of the killer wanting to not camp survivors
i meant the first summer games ever started on august 2nd and i stated that exactly one week ago i ate pizza on that date not the whole week.
thank you i tried looking up hook camping fix in the search and didnt see it thank you for being the first to provide a url link.
also maybe one day when heavy looping is fixed they can re-look into this idea since it was tested very early into the game.
The problem wasn't looping.
Survivors would purposefully kite the Killer close to the Hook to get the benefit from the slowed regression.
The devs were quite clear on the matter: no more anti-camping mechanics, only incentives to leave the Hook (Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, BBQ & Chilli, etc)
Hey, this is a open forum. It is not okay to exclude a certain playerbase out of your posts. Also killers and mixed players who play both roles have something to say about this.
You can repost the thread, but do not exclude anymore players out of your posts though. Thank you.
