I've been testing with the bots in PTB and it's looking promising. Def not perfect, but they know how to do gens, they can loop decently well at times, and they don't give up.
Ty for the info on how the bots are for now . I'm stoked .

Something I'll be glad so if I just wanna mess around with a really stupid meme build, testing out just practicing how to play certain killers or techs.
Just need to remember there's no progress of any sort when playing vs bots.
Which I'm more than okay with . I didn't expect them to cause no other game really has that either when going against bots vs live players .
I already got many achievements (that I never cared about in the first place) and so it's purely to learn new killers/builds, and play the game during the morning without having to wait 20 min for a 30k hour team lol

What's the point of playing a multiplayer game if you're not going to play against multiple players?
Why keep playing a game if you're unhappy with it and not just go find a more fun game?
Wouldn't playing against the bots get boring, eventually? A.I. can only do so much (and this is BHVR- look at Tentacle Daddy's Zombies for an example) and you'll eventually hit a point where you'll easily beat them and get bored.
Id rather get bored then be annoyed at how real people play
If I have the option to play bots during the day and live matches at night then that's the best option.

Just a small update as well, my leg is even better than before, I don't need to stay in a wheelchair as much as I got used to using crutches a lot, I am going home in about a month, and I am counting the days. Very excited.
Miss you all! :D
Tbh it's not been that very fun for me lately as killer(hag).
Boons, med kits, very large maps with no possible 3 gen, and being sorta new makes it to where it's either an incredibly stressful match where I only walk away with 1-2 kills or they DC at first down and I get no enjoyment from that either .

Hello, I compiled a list of disgusting double standards within the community that compares similar actions on both sides and how unequally they are perceived. If you have any additions, please let me know in the comments :)
Killer Making the game "Boring" for the other side
A lot of killers get called out for making the game "boring" in the way they play. However, no one calls out survivors for rushing gens in 5-6 minutes and making the game boring for the other side :)
Objective Efficiency
When a killer does his objective efficiently, it is despised. But when survivors do their objective efficiently and get called out on it, survivors lose their minds and scream "but it's my objective??? what am I supposed to do". Yeah, so is the killer's to kill.
Objective Tunneling
When a killer tunnels a survivor, it is despised. But when survivors tunnel a generator in front of your face, even if it costs them down, then it's okay. Learn the definition of "tunnelling", survivors do it often too but are not called out on it.
Camping & Tunneling = Skillless Killer
Often survivors like to tell killers that they're "unskilled" because at some point in the game they camped and/or tunnelled. When a killer tunnels and camps, he's a no skilled player, but when a survivor does awful chases and is not able to do anything properly besides gens, then no one calls them out for it and no one tells them they were "skillless"
"Rubbing it in" after a guaranteed win
Survivors teabagging at exit gates is not frowned upon enough. Imagine if killers had global teabag ability, and would teabag after the guaranteed death state of a survivor. The community would lose their minds instantly.
Waiting at Exit Gates
Many survivors wait at the exit gates to "show the killer that they have escaped". Again, this is not frowned upon enough by the community. Imagine if most killers would wait at the hatch to see a survivor coming and would close it in front of their faces. The community would lose their minds, again.
Slugging for 4K
A lot of survivors are vile when a killer slugs for 4K, calling them "sweaty" and telling them to "touch grass". But when 3 man squad comes body blocking 5 times in 5 minutes during the endgame for that one person to live so that all 4 can escape, then it is FINE.
Negative Comments on Profiles
This is just a general one but applies regardless. Watch how many negative comments a killer main receives and a survivor main - it is day and night. I can also bet if "beloved" Otzdarva would play anonymously and have his comments section open, even he would get bombarded by negative comments (+ a few death threats likely)
Picking Strong Killers
A killer player decides to play Nurse with range add-ons. A lot of times they will be called out for being sweaty. But when a decent SWF group up to play a game to win, then it is fine - "they're just friends". Don't blame killers for picking strong things, then we also don't blame you for playing a SWF, deal?
The 4 gen regression build
It is a funny one. Survivors like to cry a lot about killer-picking 4 gen regression perk build because apparently, it's taboo and toxic. Meanwhile, the same survivors also run DH, Windows of Opportunity, Hyperfocus and Stake Out. You have no right to call out a killer build if you are running the meta builds too.
The General "Toxic" Persona
Again, a funny one. The community creates a lot of content regarding being a "toxic survivor". This is especially relevant with streamers who main survivors. Apparently, it is a hip thing to do and is quite cool (and also fine). You're just playing in a "specific style", even though that style revolves around being as annoying to the other side as possible. Now imagine what would happen if a killer streamed with "toxic" persona attached to him. I.e. bming a lot of times, camping/tunnelling, hitting on hooks, head nods etc. He would be crucified for it. However, when you do it as a survivor, oftentimes more than not, it is a cool thing to do 😎 Stop the acceptance of "toxic" personalities within survivor gameplay or don't trash-talk killers who do the same.
*Insert general surv insult here* I agree. As killer I quit being nice to whole teams , I'm nice to a single person if they are the last surv and clearly just want to leave .
I love watching King Wolfie on YouTube cause he doesn't give af

Even had a couple 0ks last night while trying my hardest(one of those 0k games was as nurse). Of course as you said, they've probably devoted long hours to learning all the ins and outs of playing survivor and vsing specific killers.
My question is a simple one, what changes would you propose that would improve your experience without changing the experience of killers who vs high level survivors from "frothy sweatfest" to "actually impossible"?
It really sucks to get a 0k when you're actually a good killer. Had a few really bad matches in Friday and wanted to uninstall lol it felt impossible to win against these people

That is true. I got that map this morning and I cried. Seriously though, Garden of Joy might be the worst map ever made. Even worse than old Ormond.
Either that or Eyrie of crows. Just had the absolute worst match I've had in a while on that map. 2 people had toolboxes and gen perks they ######### destroyed me.
Of course the same thing just happened on garden so my games are literally me getting maybe one hook before the gens are done and someone is getting the gate.

So I've reported some of these things as bugs, some of them as issues that needed addressing and so far BHVR has mostly if not completely ignored them and now instead added JPEG at the boot screen.
Please, upvote this thread and talk about it. We need to get BHVR to address the issues at hand.
INSANE MAP FLICKERING
Haddonfield Lights - The New Haddonfield has been reported as an insane seizure fest for a while now and BHVR has done nothing to address or even acknowledge the issues. All lights in all houses occasionally (rather often really) start flickering at insanely high speeds until the generator is done - enough to even make some non-photo-sensitive folk uncomfortable.
Springwood & Lery's Lights - All of these maps have the same issues, thankfully it's not as ######### bad as Haddonfield. There are still very intense and really stupid at their current rate.
Additionally,I've also encountered insane shack texture flickering on Eyrie of Crows - for some reason the LOD keeps switching at insane speeds. There's been a lot more LOD flickering on the new RPD too.
THE MENUS
The menus in DBD - along with the bloody prestige highlights and archives menus and all the effects in it just start going at thousand times the normal speed. This is just..really hard on the eyes. It looks like this has been a bug since the dawn of DBD and BHVR never bothered to fix it. How about you do,dear developers.
THE KILLERS
The Onryo - This has been a killer with many concerns brought about by me specifically and some community members in the thread. I was very saddened to see that not all of our concerns were addressed. I personally still cant play that Killer in non-windowed mode and for slightly prolonged periods of time - the static VFX while demanifested is too intense. It needs to either be optionally turned off or toned down.
The Doctor - Do I even need to explain him? Delete it or again, bring a photosensitivity option.
You dont just slap a seizure warning and call it a day. That's legal mumbo jumbo. I want to see actions. I want to see this be the start to make DBD actually accessible. I've heard plenty of concerns from people hard of hearing and even a lot of people talking about how your color blindness options are not enough. I'd love to see people who know more about those issues due to their own experience to come and weigh on this.
BHVR needs to up their game.
I get a lot of ######### for not playing against surv with stacked flashlights . It’s not about me getting “macro clicked” to death (which is annoying) it’s about me having eye problems.
the flashlight causes immediate headaches and can sometimes cause a little vertigo if it’s constant . I guess that’s literally what it’s suppose to do (stop the killer in their tracks) but still , annoying lol

I've ran discordance on wesker for the better part of my games on him,one thing was always consistent, survivors spawn too close or ontop of gens.
It's not just 1 survivor either,it's either 2 or 3. This essentially ensures by the time the killer gets there, that gen is done or about to be done. It also makes sense as to why blight and nurse are heavily valued as well (I will say wesker can be as well if they fix his bugs) because they can easily travel the map within a time that's reasonable for them to stop the gen.
This also brings up the idea of a basekit corrupt intervention to mind, similar to how survivors have a free BT,killers should have a 50-60s CI. Another fix could be just to have survivors spawn more in the center of the map or anywhere that's not near a gen, this way the killer has some time to find a survivor or help set up killers (Trapper, hag, etc).
And to survivors or people that say "ThAts tOO oP!",well,I remember hearing that you shouldn't need to give up a perk slot to just have a normal time...
(Also yes,I understand nurse will most likely get this nerfed or scrapped altogether if BHVR ever actually read this. Unfortunately that character Bottle necks a lot of things, that's on BHVR to figure out because a majority of perks suffer because she uses them too well or is too oppressive with them. Look at Awakened Awarness for an example, that perk was solely nerfed because of nurse.)
Thank you for your time.
Thank you for mentioning my main squeeze hag . I know surv would hate this and I’m not even one so good luck lol it would make hag and trapper better but would make nurse & blight way too OP for people who have mained them since 2016

@Plsfix369 said:
This is a serious matter. Hag is basically powerless right now due to Reassurance preventing survivors from trading hooks early in the game, which is where Hag gets her pressure from, and the 10 sec BT, as it renders Hag useless for 10 seconds. Because the unhooked survivor has speed boost and endurance, they can trigger all of the traps in the area with no resistance from the killer.
When you combine that with off the record and COH, she's effectively useless in any lobby. Hag isn't a chase killer, and it's impossible to catch any survivor in a short period of time. The only advantage Hag has is she can be anywhere else as long as a survivor triggers her traps. But she can't pressure any survivors to do anything without triggering her traps first. She can't waste too much time chasing healthy survivors either.
Im a newer player and hag main . This has been by far the hardest time I’ve had in dbd since I started in June .
I know how to work around BT, and reassurance but surv just keep getting better and better I’m extremely limited on what perks I can even use cause of how new I am .
I personally think they should have already brought in bots. I know it’s not for everyone but I’ve seen many people agree that it could be beneficial.

In ash, the expectations for emblems to get a pip are significantly lower than in higher grades.
You can easily double pip every game if you're a good player (with the right killer). I'm pretty sure you can even get pips by camping two guys out, that's how little is necessary in ash.
In higher grades, the game expects you to actually make great efforts to apply pressure on all of your roles as killer. It favours slightly killers whose powers score in several categories (I know for example that I don't have much trouble pipping as Legion, but it was a bit harder on my Hag before the update as I used not to kick gens so my brutality was usually very low).
If the game made you pip as easily in ash and in iridescent grades, ranking up would be a breeze. As things are, the game expects you to put more efforts in if you want higher grades.
That’s just frustrating to me lol i totally understand the “it can’t be TOO easy then it’s not fun and you get there in a day” that’s not fun when I’m not really that competitive but I like to continuously aim for something sorta easily achievable to keep games interesting .
I still really enjoy the game at times but I realized this last month that even grades don’t matter to me anymore with how hard it is for me to pip up now .
-
But why does it give me the black pip for theoretically playing the same way I did when i was ash?

Oh, while the MMR system is certainly having a moment, OP wouldn't be seeing any of these doom squads unless they were showing some proficiency, for sure.
That said, there's no good excuse for a player in their first few months to be facing 10K hour survs (or killers). I'm at 2.5K hours and just hit devotion 10, and I really struggle with players on that level.
Thank you! I’m more than happy to not test myself THAT much lol. I know I’m good but not near that level . Should a high school freshman swimmer who’s “good” go up against Michael Phelps ? Nope lol no matter how much he practices as long as Michael is still improving you’ll never win and that’s how I feel in this

Nah, it's been this way for weeks now.
Are there less? For sure. But I think the those that have lest have left from the lower part of the middle tier, as they realized they weren't actually that good. New players don't know better, really good players haven't been affected that much.
Net result for your average killer: more potatoes with death squads sprinkled in here and there.
I agree . Seems like when I’m not going against a sweaty swf , it’s straight up potatoes.

@crogers271 said:
So I'm 30 hours into DbD and I thought I'd join what seems to be the true game: long rants about DbD.
So before I started playing I noticed lots of complaining between 'survivor mains' and 'killer mains' about the need to try the other side. So I thought as a new player I would give each side a go with no starting bias about who had the advantage.
I first played a series of games that I didn't track going back and forth just so I wasn't a complete noob. For reference I got the Trapper to bloodlevel 20, and Claudette to 30. As a further point of reference, I was enough of a noob that there were some maps that I hadn't even played yet. I decided to play 15 games as each and track the results (I also threw out any game where survivors were AFK or deliberately not playing).
I started with Trapper, build: Unrelenting (green), Thrill of the Hunt (yellow), Sloppy Butcher (green), No One Escapes Death (green) - makeshift wrap (common), trapper gloves (common) - offerings were just used to increase blood points
Results - average kill rate of 2.86, 67% of the time they didn't get the doors open. Not a single game did all four survivors manage to escape
Okay, I felt that a kill rate 2.86 was really high for a noob. Maybe Trapper is just overpowered? Nope, seems like everyone rates him one of the worst killers. Players I was going against? Yeah, there were some bad ones, but people who had far higher perks than me and obvious some of them were SWF. Am I some kind of natural savant at killer? Hardly, frequently my swings were just hitting empty air.
So let's go over to survivor and see how that worked out. Same as above, I threw out results if either a survivor or killer didn't play the game.
Results - Average kill rate of 3.33. Yikes, and of those games there was only a single time we all got out.
At this point I'm feeling that killers seem to have a pretty substantial advantage. But I decided to do one more test. I switched to Wraith, level 1, no add ons, only using the perk Bloodhound (to be clear, for all the games I played a base Wraith, no improvements)
Results - Average kill rate of 3.7. In ten games I got - 8 4k, 1 3k with a hatch escape, and only a single game were they got the doors open. In only two of the other games did they even get down to 1 gen.
Here's the kicker: In addition to being so new I was still getting lost, I was playing nice. I deliberately tried not to tunnel, after hooking a survivor I ran away from it like it was going to explode even if I knew others were in the area, and if I got off to a great start (multiple hooks before they even had a gen), I slowed down.
Noob verdict: The game is comically weighted towards the killer.
Now there is a couple of responses that might come to this:
1: My kill rate will drop when I get to 'high level MMR'.
Here's the thing, I'm not here saying I'm a great player. I'm new to the game, I should lose to players with a 1000 hours in the game (or a 100). But I'm mascaraing players who have more experience than I do.
2: I'm playing the 'easy' killers.
Yeah, sure, I imagine when I start trying Nurse there will be some comically embarrassing games, but easy should be about difficulty to learn the killer, now how much they butcher the survivor.
3: Survivors need to get good.
So there are a lot of answers to this, but I want to focus on one I haven't seen before. Killers don't need to get good. The game holds the killers hand in every way imaginable that it takes active effort to be bad.
Do you have to remember where the generators are? Nope.
Hooks? Nope, we'll tell you that.
Skills checks? Of course not.
Did something go wrong and you aren't sure where the noise came from? Oh, here's a visual icon as well.
Have trouble finding hiding survivors? Here are some perks that let you see them. Hah, of course we won't let the survivors know you have them.
Chases are another example of this. After you hit a survivor they get a speed boost. Cool, you can still run them down.
Oh, you lost sight of them? No problem, scratch marks.
No scratch marks? Don't worry, blood trail.
Oh, can't see the blood? We got you, we'll have them wine so loud you can't help but find them.
As a killer it feels like playing a child in basketball. You have to intentionally screw up sometimes to create the appearance that its actually competitive. As a survivor it feels like everyone on the team needs a perfect. Every mistake, missed skill check, mistimed vault/pallet, bad communication, has serious repercussions.
DbD has survived for a long time. It's a fun game with a cool theme. But a crazy design that things are so easy for the killer from the beginning while the survivors need to master multiple skills and, ideally, play in a group with chat.
You'll learn just how wrong you are as you get more hours in against a good SWF team. Sure you do get notifications, and scratch marks etc but it's 1 person against 4. If the 4 are good, get a good map, and know how to counter whichever killer you're using you'll quickly see how it's not so " kiLleR siDed"

Forget about ever getting a good patch. If you ever get one, it won't last long. Don't even go to the forums anymore, don't waste your energy typing how this new patch is unfair or whatever. All survivors have to do is whine about it and the devs will say " I gotchu Homie"
When survivors take ages to find lobbies becomes more frequent, the survivors and devs will still be oblivious and wonder what the reason is because they will always tell themselves, killers are balanced so why wouldn't anyone play killer?
This thread will definitely filled will survivors saying, Ahh baby killer boo. Go cry leave the game. Who cares and stuff like that. But to all the killer mains just know that there are better games out there. Go find what suits you. If you think about it, this game is so repetitive. I guess you could try survivor but just holding m1 for 1-7 mins is not worth your time.
I wont be on the threads as much or at all cause it's a waste of time.
Anyways to all the killer mains... Have a good day.
I can’t wait until bots come cause atleast for me I’ll be relatively happy . I won’t have to worry about abunch of unexpected bullshit in game I can’t control or fix . Until then I’m screwed cause this game is the only one of its kind in my opinion (and I’m new so yeah this isn’t very fun)

I get the impression that a lot of people either think they're better than they actually are and/or take the game way too seriously without the skill to justify it.
With that full disclosure out of the way, how good (out of 10) do YOU think you are in both roles?
Solo - 7
Killer - 7
Both of those could be a 7.5 on a good day, but I've always viewed myself as a 'slightly above decent' DBD player.
7.7 for killer. I’m able to mindgame , figure out if I’m being baited away so someone else can finish healing , time window shots, trade hooks Etc.
Some game mechanics, and maps honestly make that number lower than it should be in my opinion, but I definitely won’t act like I can compete in tournaments or brag about how “amazing” I am at a game I’ve only started playing since the end of June .

And here's DBD compared to a game that's bigger, looks way better and runs way better.

Playing Billy? You're going to The Game, RPD, or Lerys. I play maybe 1 game of Huntress every month. I get The Game every. single. time. It's uncanny. I wouldn't be shocked if maps are used to manipulate win rates.
I believe that 100%. I also have a theory that on certain days of the week maps are “randomly picked” repeatedly based on said win/lose rates .

They’ve been kinda all over the place lately for me. One match is a complete slaughter 4K with 2 gens done , and the next I get a 0k with a few hooks .

Yeeee I caught onto that one even before I started the game , but damn is it bad in dbd .

Yes, it was certainly a problem right at the time of the RE chapter. I feel like it was normally just with Nemesis matches, but that observation might've just been because SO MANY people were playing Nemesis.
Welcome to DBD, though!! 😁 and don't listen to what most people on this forum say. It really feels like 95% of the people complaining and trash talking on this forum are the side of the fanbase that uses the forum after bad matches.
If you ever need Survivor/Killer advice, please do reach out and never be afraid to ask! 😊 Especially if you need a medic survivor to team up with.
I’m mostly wondering if I will have the same performance issues when this coming chapter drops (even with killers not from R.E)
