The more you play the better you’ll get. 🙂 Also keep in mind the game is designed with 1-3 kills being the most common results, so if the survivors play well they’re expected to finish the generators and get the gates open even if you play well too. If most of your matches are in that 1-3 kill range then you’re actually performing on par with the survivors.

That's less than I thought I would be ! Thank you for reassuring that not every game needs to be a slaughtered 4k and that it isn't normal to get more than about 2 kills

It's well known that Killers don't have souls, especially basement Bubba's 😂

I hate that tactic. I know everyone has their own but I've had my best luck with hag . Only times I don't have luck is with a million pallets in a row on large maps with crazy spread out hooks . I usually just chalk it up to poor hook placement for that map and go on with it , but sometimes when it's multiple in a row it's frustrating

    It hurts my soul

  • Tbh for me , I have played so many other games and am uninterested that I stick around for the good matches in this game . Theoretically if there were different games that caught my eye like this one id leave but that's clearly my own issue .

Are there any secret changes to the MMR in progress or is it temporarily disabled?

I've noticed repeated complaints about MMR and Solo Q over the past few days. Also, I feel like the MMR isn't there at the moment. In Solo Q I mostly have bad teammates and killers, it's rarely the other way around. And when I play Killer, I rarely get really good SWFs these days. I mean, I don't want to complain, but I've noticed a change in the quality of my teammates and opponents for a while.

I can't tell you what MMR I have. But since I mostly survive and make 2-3 kills on average, I shouldn't be in the low MMR. Have you had similar experiences?

As a killer main every single group I've come across that isnt even a true SWF has the best perks , the best coordination and absolutely destroy me (I'm decent at the game and understand different tactics)

    Fair enough

  • I've attempted Nurse but tbh I get motion sickness from her. I've tried trapper(never got more than a 2k and that was lucky), hillbilly, dude with the bell, huntress and the best luck I've had is with Hag . I'm a broke mf so I only have the first 7

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

To be fair, I've seen a few maps that decided "Nah, this entire side of the map only needs one/no hook", and that just sucks.

    Thank you !

  • @KolbyKolbyKolby said:

Sure, I guess maybe I can stop saboing hooks if you stop regressing gens, sounds about fair. Removing one objective denier for the other, perfect balance, etc

I'll take the removal of perks that fully block the gen from being worked on if survivors can no longer undo a hook.

If they literally come in at the last second like that you should be able to get a free hit. They either will bolt, try to restart the sabo, then you can just down them. I hardly have issue with what you're talking about. I either avoid it by seeing it in time, and am able to adapt, go to another hook. Get a hit or down on the one trying to sabo, put the carried survivor down if needbe, or... or...

they get the sabo, I can't make it to another hook, and I move past it. Just because is keeps you from doing your objective, it doesn't mean its broken. It means the other side did a better job at doing THEIR objective.

I try hitting the sebo person and they get the hook done 99% of the time and don't care about going down.

  • @Crowman said:

If your constantly getting your downs interrupted by flashlight saves, pallet saves, sabos, or body blocks, you aren't paying enough attention to your surroundings. Take advantage of the survivor not a gen waiting to go for the save, by pressuring them.

The entire time I'm doing a chase of 1-2 people the other 2 are just gen rushing and not even healing . Kinda hard to prioritize who to chase, who to pick up ,when to pick them up, and hope one random person doesn't undo the hook at last second . I get it just get better and be more vigilant. On smaller/medium maps im actually really good but I always get ######### on at haddonfield type maps. Fair to say it's not always clear cut ?

  • @GannTM said:

At this point let’s just remove all survivors from the game and queuing in as killer automatically gives merciless killer.

No tryna have it that easy . I literally just want that one ######### thing out and everyone is acting like I want them to go AFK for me to have fun .

No no it actually works I asked by motions to a hook and they put down their item and let me hook them.....mind you Iblet them farm me and pallet slam me all game but it happens

I get absolutely no respect . I've only had 2-3 respectful matches (as killer) . I don't camp, tunnel, do any type of pre/post chat or run crazy perks .

So you've never heard of just... Not picking up? Because they can't use Sprint Burst if they're slugged. No point in sabotaging when they're slugged.

They will hide in a corner or bush until I'm already basically a couple seconds away from hooking their friend and then undo the hook. Even if I drop them and change my chase and try to slug them it never works

  • @ShrimpTwiggs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3050577#Comment_3050577

Circle of Healing is far more game changing, some of the new perk buffs will mess with momentum much more for both sides then modern Sabo, certain add-on combos, such as range on Nurse can be overbearing, map offerings can be absolutely crippling on low-mobility killers to name a few.

I agree with all of that actually lol no argument. I'm stuck with the free killers and I'm horrid at nurse, so that last part about the map offerings mixed with the undoing of hooks ends up making me mad af

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Pov you haven't heard of slugging

I have actually. That's why I put the comment about them flashbanging me and using Sprint burst to get across the map before I can slug .

  • @ShrimpTwiggs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3050571#Comment_3050571

There is, but sabotaging hooks isn't it. There are far more broken things in the game that ruin momentum in far worse ways.

    Like ?

  • @tippy2k2 said:

You...want the survivors to stop trying to stop you from killing them?

I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask but I have a feeling the survivors will say No

They can flashbang me , flashlight me , stun me , body block , take hits etc I'm just so tired of finally downing someone , getting them up , getting them to the hook and then I see the hook fall off and I literally just have to throw the person down and hopefully catch the others .

  • @ShrimpTwiggs said:

Messing up your momentum is the point, my dude.

    There's a limit tho

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

To start this off, I'm throwing it out there that I'm old. Like, REALLY old, lol. At least in the context of the general player base, and I'm probably not anywhere near the target age demographic of video game companies if I had to guess.

I've played rounds as killer where I've messaged players after the game (I'm on console, with messages off normally) to either say GG when someone played exceptionally well against me, to apolgize if the game was really rough or there was a DC, or as a survivor to thank a teammate who might have made a great save or play during the match to help with an escape (to the PC Jane I couldn't message that Head-On stunned the killer in a match last week to save my tail, if you're out there and see this -- thank you, lol!).

In talking with a few of these players, a couple asked to play with my friend and I, and when we got into voice chat, I was stunned by how young some of them were. I know video games are more a younger person's thing, but I've run into players who were in the 11-14 age range more often than I would have believed I would have for a game with this type of content.

With those experiences in mind, I'm curious what the average age of the player base actually is. Is DBD filled with college age players? Kids? Late 20's/early 30's adults? Grumpy old people like myself, lol? I've never seen any data, if it exists. I try to put the possibility I'm playing with kids into mind whenever I get angry or frustrated over something that happens to me that's "toxic", telling myself that the person doing it might actually not be old enough to know better (not that I still don't get salty at times, but convincing myself that the relentlessly teabagging Claudette at the exit might be a 13 year old who hasn't learned better yet makes that salt a little less common, lol).

As a disclaimer, I'm just curious who I'm actually playing with/against. There's certainly no "right" age to be playing this game, and there are plenty of people, I'm sure, that are really young who show better manners than people twice their age. If I had to guess, I'd probably be the oldest person in any random match I'm a part of, but I'm wondering by exactly how much that actually is.

Im on Xbox and anytime I go for a custom match and put up a group post 99% of them are 11-15. Only a couple have been adults

My bad i misread and thought this was from survivor perspective.

As Hag you want to scope out a 3 gen at the beginning if the match and start setting up your web of traps. Corral the survivors there and you will have a fairly easy time if you control that three gen early.

Which is the main point of my post is that I can't even get over there before they do the gens cause they spawn right on top of the gens

  • @TheArbiter said:

    1. Maps in this game favor some killers over others unfortunately

    2. Id suggest trying to finish gens not right next to each other so as to not 3 gen at the end of the game

    3. Unfortunately rubberbanding has been an issue on all platforms since before Dredge patch and the devs have acknowledged it

What do you mean finish gens tho ? I only play as killer (hag for now) I basically get stuck with the largest spread out 2 gen in dbd history and have lost 6 matches in a row against ordinary survivors who had literally 5 gens in one small corner on other side of the map

  • @EvilJoshy said:

You want to buff killers? What kind of forum you think this is?

    >.>

    Lmao "GET HIM!"

  • I literally did everything in my power to let these last 3 people complete the match(as a killer). I went across the map , let them heal and complete gens . Towards the end I chased a bit, did a hit here and there. At the end I even let one struggle off my shoulder and then they just DC'd and said I was tunneling . I literally can't wait til I can play bots in customs so I never have to deal with this ######### again

  • @bogwitch69 said:

hey guys, i just wanted to vent about some game mechanics & see if y’all had any advice on how to better deal with them. so, typically i play as both survivor & killer, with a slight bias towards survivor, but recently i’ve lost pretty much all interest in playing killer due to the frequency in which i get paired with SWF. now, i should preface that i don’t actually have a problem with SWF, and i’m not one of those killers who thinks all SWF are bully squads lmao. however, it’s the matchmaking when it comes to SWF that has made the killer experience absolutely exhausting. yesterday i had five games in a row that were all SWF, where at least two of the survivors were red rank. i’m a rank 15 (and pretty much staying there for the time being since i can barely get any hooks, let alone kills, with these groups), so at my current experience level, these teams are pretty much un-counter-able. i don’t wanna start camping & tunneling people, but it’s getting to the point where that’s the only way i can secure kills. any more experienced killers have any tips on how to deal with these groups? i’ve unlocked the teachable hag & bubba perks so far, & am currently working on getting myers’. also if it helps, i favor the doctor & ghostface right now.

My one and ONLY piece of advice is as killer , when you join into a match watch what the survivors have in their hands. If they have all flashlights(gonna be toxic af) if they have all toolboxes they'll gen rush. Last 2 weeks I've noticed when I play killer from 4pm-545pm(west coast time zone) it's allllll bots. I personally hate going against sweats and I don't get better I just get pissed lol. Hope that helps !

It's just that in the situation you lay out, survivors gain two benefits.

    1) free saves

    2) more efficient, safe play from other survivors

If someone is bodyblocking, I drop who I'm carrying and leave them slugged. And more often then not, leads into 2 incapacitated survivors with either one or both of the others off gens.

And while I completely understand what youre saying , I'm more just tryna come to an agreement of "if I dont do X,Y, and Z that pisses off the other side and is truly unfair, then you won't do the same thing back" which I know is like telling 13 year old kids in black ops 2 to not use racial slurs .

  • @WeenieDog said:

    Sounds like a one-sided trade.

Not really. If you 4 all decide to start undoing the hooks all over the map to where I literally can't do anything besides repeatedly hit them because there's no hooks is messed up. Tunneling is insanely annoying but it's not literally removing a fundamental part of how the game works .

  • What else do killers need to stop doing then

  • Im getting my ass HANDED to me last week straight as killer. Random bugs, DC survivors, ridiculously toxic SWF players.

  • Awesome! Just know for me personally, I don't really enjoy playing against live players. However if I have the option to play as any killer/survivor with perks etc I'll gladly buy skins, promote the game to friends, and I'm general support the game.
