I'd recommend just letting them take you to the Boon. It's unlikely they are the one who placed it, and if they are it isn't gonna do them any good if you snuff it. Just snuff the damn thing, now they aren't healing and you can get the down.

Tbh I’ve had countless matches where the person with CoH is tucked away in a corner and waits for me to snuff it just to put it right back up while the others gen rush ,and every time i run shattered hope guess what happens ? Not one boon perk.

Dude this is so true. I 4k'd a game on Eyrie by only patrolling the main building gen and the two that spawn in the corners behind it. I played in maybe one third of the map the whole game.

Letting survivors complete the "island gens" (the ones out in the middle of nowhere, near strong structures, and with no other gens nearby) is a good strategy. It effectively shrinks the map in your favor. It can also give them undeserved confidence, which can make them overplay their hand later.

Yeah but what about surv who don’t loop in the gen area but immediately run to a boon across eyrie anytime they see you/are hurt ? I’m being serious do you just “slug” them or do you hurt them all and then hunt them down & take out the boon ?

Trust me I felt the same way when I was new to Killer, It's very intimidating for a good while because it's 4 v 1. People think Killers like this power fantasy but sometimes it's legit one of the most stressful experiences sometimes. The recent changes have helped with this lately though

I'm sure the problems you're having is stemming from matchmaking and just needing to practice more. You mentioned you play Hag who is really tough for a newcomer. Especially if you're trying to get better at chasing because hag is slower than most other killers which makes chasing very painful

What other killers do you play?

Honestly just hag . I’ve tried nurse(I have eye problems that make me nauseous sometimes when i use her power for some reason) and I’ve tried all the other free killers. Like I said I’m on console and I’ve heard that blight is hard af on controller so I don’t wanna waste my cash .

The other killers ive tried get destroyed worse than i do with hag . I’ve watched many videos about hag from Michi and we just don’t have the same fps, or the same servers . I will use the same style and I have great reaction time but hag takes her goddam time 8/10 times teleporting .

I truly believe if I was on pc & dedicated severs id have the games actually reflect my skill

  • @Brokenbones said:

The people saying killer is "easier than ever" likely aren't talking about people still learning, rather the people who are experienced and know how to play Killer.

Learning and getting the experience to be good with Killer is still as hard as ever, don't let people diminish your feelings by going "lol its so easy now". This is like saying survivor was easy before even though inexperienced survivors get mopped up super easily by even medicore killers.

My honest advice at dealing with problem structures is either: Just ignore them whenever possible, I've won so many games on Dead Dawg and Garden of Joy by just ignoring the main building. Let them have the gen there.

Alternatively, brute force a pallet out of someone then leave, you'll eventually widdle down the resources and create a deadzone. Still sometimes not worth it though.

Thank you for validating how I’m feeling cause no one else seems to really care that I’m new and on a ######### console. My biggest problem is when there actually isn’t just a pallet but they’ll work on a gen , run off WAY before I get to the gen and then loop me around a large building or structure that might/might not have pallets but will forsure have multiple windows and loop spots they know how to exploit .

I don’t get a hit , time is wasted , they go right back to the gen and finish it while I’m trying to find other surv who don’t have as good of a spot .

Multiple matches where i have zero options cause they’re all loop God’s with lithe, or some other type of exhaustion perk. True they run out , and true hag (who I usually use) can trap to outplay them but it never works for me.

  • Well Is it because you’re frustrated about games going horribly due to one reason or another ? Or are you just not as entertained by it?

  • I’d personally take a 5-10 min mandatory wait to get paired against people my own “skill” (whatever that means) on paper to where it truly is as close to level playing field as possible . Until then I’m dodging some lobbies & hoping bots come soon

I've found the opposite - people crouch too much, and waste half the match butt-scooting from gen to gen.

Traps aren't about crouching. They are about triggering them intelligently, at their maximum radius and then legging it.

I do find this more difficult to deal with until it comes to unhooks (for me specifically) . The radius trigger/sprint burst combo drives me nuts lmao

    Just a general question.

I know that some people dont do it, some people do, some have reasons for it, some dont. Id just like to hear some people talk about it. I always give hatch personally, I kind of see it as a nice gesture toward my opponents, since Im on Console, I unfortunately dont really get to see post-game chat, but Id imagine it at least has like one or two nice things in it whenever I give hatch.

If that person specifically played really well but had bad teammates, and just stands there injured and nodding their head I’ll nod , walk away , nod again and they always get the point that im tryna help . If they were playing like a dick or if I’m on a super hot losing streak I am definitely not as nice .

  • @jamally093 said:

Simple reason teammates don't crouch your on a hook a teammate won't crouch even saving them basically facing Hag in solo q sucks because of the fact no one crouches near important areas or obvious trap zones when not in chase.

As a hag main I can agree that those who clearly don’t have/use comms are severely hindering the entire team . If they know how to counter hag it’s actually really difficult for me to snowball .

That's why I still, and always will, advocate to get rid of depipping.

Just let the people have fun any way they like and eventually crawl their way up to Iri1, if they just play enough. Heck, just add a pip to each grade, maybe even 2, but just get rid of depipping.

Man I cannot agree enough . The thought of de pipping makes me actually play more of an ######### now that I think about it.

  • @Akumakaji said:

I usually make it to Iri1 (or Iri 2/3, depending on the amount of sweat encountered) around the end of the month or early days of the next month. This lets me fool around for sometimes 2 weeks with builds that aren't as sweaty and I am not obliged to go for as many kills as possible, but give hatches freely.

I honestly do the same . Games are somewhat "try hard" cause the motivation of getting to iri (even 4) is an awesome feeling to me and obviously if you get to iri 1 you can just kinda relax and fool around til the 13th like you said .

  • @BenOfMilam said:

Depends on queue times and how many matches I play. Fastest is around three or four days, other times I don't hit iri at all despite playing daily.

Discordance currently allows a killer to always know when two or more survivors are on any generator at any time. What makes it stand out from many other killer tracking perks is that it has a very common activation condition (this one completely in the survivors’ hands), that is essentially map-wide with no cooldown or restrictions.

What if the perk gave aura reading of the survivors on the gen, instead of highlighting the generator in yellow and giving an explosion notification? It would allow counterplay with Object of Obsession and Distortion. It could also have the aura reading linger for three or so seconds after the survivor stops co-op repairing, to give it synergy with Lethal Pursuer. And should it have some sort of cooldown, to bring it more in line with other tracking perks similar to it?

So I wouldn't mind either option . If they kept it exactly as is then that's cool, but if they decided to basically show auras while on gen and then like 3 seconds after that would be even better .

Lets celebrate the band-aiding of camping with a fun one. Which killers can effectively camp from 24 metres away to take full advantage of Monstrous Shrine?

First one that comes to mind is Artist. Not only can she camp from 24 metres away, she can also pressure gens with birbs and lock them with DMS. S++ for taking advantage of Monstrous Shrine imo.

Huntress is probably pretty good with it as well. She can proxy and patrol nearby gens while threatening to down you before you can make it to the hook still.

One of the best ones is imo Twins. Camping with Victor near the hook while you patrol gens and even get into chases with Charlotte can be incredibly rewarding. This method can be countered by simply crouching but even good survivors dont seem to really know how to play against Twins. This method can be absolutely devastating if there is no one that can safely unhook.

Any one else can think of any other campers that can take advantage of it? And do you guys think Reassurance will be enough to stop these tactics?

I really don't feel the buffs that much, if someone didn't tell me about the 10% speed increase to pallet breaking and hit cool down I don't think I would have noticed. People are acting like killer is easy mode now when the maps are still awful and god pallets and infinite loops still exist.

I 100% agree ! There's only a couple maps I like and the rest I wanna cry when I'm sent there against a good team

Playing as killer has been badly destroyed since last update.....

How can a killer that can move faster than a survivor continually get looped without catching up ??????

If the survivors are going in as a team then it's incredibly harder to even get 1 kill.......

my son plays mostly and I'm fairly new, As a killer I'm frustrated more often than not and it has become simply "not fun" to get looped, gen rushed, and outmanuevered by only 2 survivors working together. Other new players are going to be put off by this too........

Can I ask about how long have you played for ? I started in June and I can agree that new killers are in a tough spot rn cause of how many bully/good killers there are that have thousands of hours of experience .

Just know your post won't get much positive feedback because surv have lost a few meta perks in the last update , and killers got buffs in the pallet break time , cool down time etc .

I see what you're saying but i think that would still be too strong, would allow her to have map pressure during a time when its viable for survivors to get rid of her traps. She needs some counterplay being a high A borderline s tier killer

Fair enough , I knew I wouldn't get much support about it I just am mostly complaining on what I want lmao

  • @TheArbiter said:

Let me get this straight... You want to BUFF hag with teleports during basic attack cooldowns???

I want her to be able to teleport while the animation is playing. Even if there's like a 5 second delay once I do TP to guarantee I can't just immediately hit someone again I'd be down .

Has anyone been having any success with discordance? I wanna run it but it just seems like the gen will be done before I get there, and/or it won't be worth it in the long run because I don't usually run gen kicking perks.

I run discordance every single game , and it's given value every game .

I would suggest trapping windows that are hard for you to navigate to for getting hits, and not trapping windows that are right next to open door ways. That way you narrow down the windows by trapping the really good ones and just read the survivor's pathing when they go to the not so good windows where you can hit them by just going through the door way next to it. It requires knowledge of the map and some practice, so don't expect yourself to nail each match.

A good way to practice could be finding someone to hop in a custom match with you and going to the map where you can either just scope it out and set some traps and then 1 v 1 the survivor to see what things can be successful or not. It's hard to find people to play with though understandably, but you can always try to find a couple willing people on the DbD discord server.

I'll definitely have to look on the server cause I'm on Xbox and can only find annoying kids that won't let me lol thank you !

  • @amazing_grace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3129981#Comment_3129981

Once you lose any resemblance of a three gen, then yeah, I would imagine it would be quite difficult to win as hag on the map. Between low mobility and needing to set up traps, I could imagine it would be very hard to get downs if survivors avoid your trapped areas and make sure to destroy the three gen.

I don't think she is one of the killers who gets especially screwed over by the map because her power doesn't rely on LOS and she can actually set up choke points because of it being an indoor map. That being said, I kind of think it more depends on the skill level of the hag than the map for her performance. I would think she could do pretty well on this map as long as you are mindful of what gens are being worked on. Survivors can't really avoid your traps easily if you lock down hallways and certain vaults.

Oof. Tough when there's like a hundred vault areas across the map tho

  • @amazing_grace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3129945#Comment_3129945

No, I do not like playing hag. It's always a mixed bag of results with her and it's mostly because I'm not a good hag player. There are some traps that I know are good and I can get some cheeky hits, but I usually get turned around when traps are set off. I'm also a bit slow because I don't bind it to scroll wheel.

I probably have maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of my hours in survivor and the rest in killer. My main is Artist, but I also have been playing a lot of Dredge lately. Before Artist came out, I mainly played a lot of Pig and Trapper and a good amount of Myers. Although, I own all the killers besides Pinhead and Sadako, and sometimes I'll play others for dailies or ranking up.

Cool, so you'd agree hag would be harder to use on this map ?

  • @amazing_grace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3129890#Comment_3129890

Yeah, from survivor point of view, I don't mind this map at all. There have been times where I get RNG that is terrible for me, but a lot of times I know where I can run the killer for a good amount of time. The main room is fun to run as well when I occasionally run Balanced Landing.

From killer side, I dont mind it on some killers. There are definitely killers who struggle on the map more than others, but overall, it isn't bad for killers. The gens can be pretty far if survivors prioritize middle map gens. I know whenever I play, I try to get the main room gen done early on and maybe library gen if there is one there.

Good map for scratched mirror myers. Fun to give the spooks and get the spooks.

Do you play as Hag ? Just curious

  • @solidhex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/340918/personally

if you mean Lerys, once you learned it, it's generally killer sided (excluding some killers like Billy, Nurse, Huntress etc). It doesn't has great obvious loops, most survivors don't know how to run this map because everything looks the same, generators are hard to find (natural slowdown). Other survivors are harder to find for healing, navigating is generally hard with almost no landmarks in sight. Even with a normal terror radius the survs can't see from where you are coming until it's too late and if you play stealth killers this map is totally in your favour.

Idk hex In every single match I've had on this specific map people seem to know this map like the back of their hand . I do agree that the gens are a little harder to find but they seem to not really have a problem with that overall. Last match I had no way to secure ANY type of 3 gen as Hag .

I'm pretty decent at hag too but these gens were just in the absolute worst spots next to a million pallets, an extremely long loop, or two the upper observation room thing. Did get a few downs and a 1k but I still got destroyed .

  • @amazing_grace said:

I'm assuming you mean Lery's and not Disturbed Ward, and yeah Lery's can have some layouts that are really good for survivors, but it can also have nasty three gens where 2 of them are solo gens.

The map isn't too bad once you learn it more, but the windows can be chained in a nasty way if the survivor knows the map better than you. Just takes time to learn.

Yep and that's basically what happened. These guys knew it like they designed it , and I'll be honest this is one of the only matches on this map where a 3 gen was just not possible . All the gens were spread out to the farthest corners with a million windows, rooms, and pallets they can use . I've only had a couple matches ever on that map where I did well . I had to slug rn just to get a 1k lmao

Blah blah “buh Sadako!” blah blah

Really though, Hag is the most neglected killer of the bunch and no one likes playing against her because most Hag mains waste time trapping under the hook without even using Mint Rag. Seriously, she’s in a rough spot and arguably had a WAY worse falloff than Hillbilly after his nerf. She still relies exclusively on Corrupt to get the game going, her move speed is awful, her POV is somehow lower than launch Blight and Sadako, and half her addons are all over the place. Mint Rag and Rusty Shackles are broken. Mint Rag by itself just incentivizes Hag players to equip MYC, trap a hook, and then perform what is arguably the most unfun camping strategy which is a guaranteed death to the rescuer. Meanwhile you have Waterlogged Shoe which is the worst ultra rare in the game up there with PH goblet.

I like Hag. She’s fun. Good break from the chase killers. But no one likes her for these reasons and her entire kit hasn’t been updated in years. I have a couple recommendations. One being to remove her ability to trap under hook, considering Twins has that rule for whatever reason. Two being to add the ability to teleport with the shoe and severed hand since those are barely effective addons in the first place. I have other tweaks but they’re not well defined yet.

Please give the swamp monster love!

Eh in my opinion I would hate not being able to put 1 trap under a hooked surv . I don't ever put more than 1 cause that's dumb.

However I agree with re-working her red and purple add ons a little bit. Lately I've had problems with her being ridiculously slow after I tp so little things like that to me need to be addressed too.
