  • Literally 2016 DBD, same thing with The Game. Might as well do the gens for the survivors

Most squads who want to clicky spam flashlight swap at the last second, otherwise I run Lightborn.

Yea you can’t really do anything about that. There should be Ana option to turn off flashlight clicks or certain sounds in the game.

I hope not. Kill rates show an incomplete picture and it always leads to people begging for unnecessary nerfs.

I mean it’s coming from the guys that think escapes and kills = skill sooo

  • The fact you trap hooks and regularly from the sound of it might be the reason why you aren’t getting good results with her.

Yeah it feels kinda pay to win. Or pay to not lose, whichever.

I don't have an issue with the mechanics of the perk itself I just don't like it being part of a cash-only dlc.

DBD is pay to win tho lol to a certain extent

The issue isn't that it gives them an advantage.

The issue is that it gives me a massive headache.

And sure - the issue is that they are stalling the game to BM, not that it's unbeatable. We aren't talking about balance here, we're talking about toxicity.

When the toxicity is helping you compared to not being able to play the it’s a lil different story. But yea it sucks when people macro. You could run Franklins and force the Flashlight out of there hands.

You're talking about two kinds of BM here.

The survivor equivalent would be stuff like double locker flashlight abuse, hiding to stall the game out forever, abusing spots where you can't be picked up etc.

Or, the killer equivalent would be stuff like hitting on hook.

Tell me, what is the counter to a group of survivors that switch to flashlights last second with a DDS offering, and stall the game out for an extra 10 minutes abusing double lockers?

Clicky macros give me an actual migraine.

You can also just slug forcing 2 people off gens if they’re abusing spots where you can’t pick up.

If they’re clicking at you they aren’t getting any distance helping you even if it is a macro.

Easily countered by Shadowborn? And Franklins?

    Thats bannable.

    Also bannable.

Nurse. Shadowborn, franklins. Or Alchimst ring blight. Or looking around for the survivor trying to save? Am I missing something here?

Fari enough with the flashlight clicking but then what do you do if you play doctor or against him? Or Artist, Demo, gens popping right after each other, skill checks, and when a survivor is injured? They also produce constant noise. Some higher pitched than flashlights.

This feels like projection, to be honest. I play both roles about equally and I'd say that I'm multiple times more likely to encounter BM survivors on killer than the inverse, even accounting for the 4 to 1 ratio. And I'm about the nicest killer you could hope for.

If you win, you're a sweaty tryhard.

If you lose, you're a noob and are told to uninstall.

Play a meta perk or killer? Lol carried.

Play an unconventional killer or build? 'OMG just play the game normally'.

You'll get cussed out if you 4k.

You'll get cussed out if you let people go.

I've been whinged at for running Lightborn, Franklins, Retribution and all sorts of off-meta stuff. I've been whinged at for playing Demogorgon, Plague, Artist and Cenobite. If you want to know what a lose/lose situation is like - play killer for a few weeks.

Yes, survivor is a role with it's own frustrations - but I think most killers are just there to play the game and to have some fun.

The problem is that there are some extremely toxic SWF 'bully squads', and after facing a few you start approaching all SWFs as if they are one.

My policy is always to go hard from the start, and ease up if I'm stomping.

When did I say that you weren’t able to encounter more BM survivors? Don’t see that anywhere near my comment.

Killer BM and survivor BM aren’t even comparable to each other

Killer BM: Tunnel, Camp, Slug to death

Survivor BM: Crouch animation, flashlight clicking, flashlight blinding, doing the objective too fast, Engame T-bagging at gate.

Counter for Killer BM: Nothing unless you can loop for 5 gens, Nothing unless your with a SWF and if they’re Bubba you’re dying regardless, Unbreakable which you can only use once, don’t look at chat

Counter for Killer BM: It’s a crouch animation why are you bothered they’re giving you time to catch up, it’s a click animation they’re giving you time to catch up, Shadowborn and Franklins, Nurse, force them out by M1.

Not every swf that play to have fun is toxic bullys or gen rushers a lot of them just want to have fun but finding a killer willing to meme around with them and have a laugh is hard, it starts to become toxic bullys when you have a 4 man swf and all they want to do is blind you as much as they can and not care about gens, is that fun for the killer even more when they switch at the last second so the killer can't even put on lightborn.

The only way things will get better is if all of us as a community step up and be the bigger person and help out the new people, not hook suicide, not camp a survivor at 5 gens, if all new people see is the ######### things people complain about then guess what happens they start to do the same thing.

But it's a major ask to ask each side to step up and be the better person, remember that this is only a game and to try and have fun with out ruining someone else's experience.

Yea that’s my entire point. If you don’t do gens and meme with the killer the killer will think you’re a bully squad. You actually do gens? Toxic gen rusher lol. Not every killer wants to meme or will meme so when you actually try to play you’re labeled as toxic. Can’t really win

  • @JakeCannon said:

That's why I opened the ######### door so I don't have to deal with all that. I'm getting put against people with multiple thousands of hours while I have a couple hundred. They won fair and square

That’s BHVR match making for you. Really hate survivors that waste yours and there time form0 reason other than to be annoying. Extremely immature

  • They need to buff killers and SoloQ to a similar level as SWF at least. They have such a tremendous advantage and pretty much every aura reading perk for free. Kind of goes out of the game balance since this game as of know isin't meant for the survivors to have the exact location of killers, pallets, and gens for 0 sacrifice.

  • @JakeCannon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3126701#Comment_3126701

Because in this instance , I know I wouldn't be able to easily "push" them out by just herding them to the gate . They would loop me allll over the map until the last second, sure I might get a kill or two but to me it's just not worth it.

You’re letting survivors loop you until the timer ends??? Not to be mean or rude but that is 100% a skill issue

  • I mean even if it were do you think escapes and kills without context is representative of skill?

  • Im not def ding the immature ass survivors but what’s timing you from forcing them out? You get more BP and you don’t have to wait for them to go out. I don’t understand why people get so triggered over a crouching animation. It’s the exact reason people do it because for some reason a lot of people act like t-bagging is the same as ######### their wife, killing their kids, and spitting in their grandmothers graves. The reason they do it is to get reactions like this one and I just don’t get how people aren’t putting 2 and 2 together?

Probably not with SWF groups, because they already can finish gens to deal with camping. But in solo queue this will be meta. Less for the camping though, and more to prevent your teammates from suiciding on hook. I absolutely will be running it to prevent those losers from leaving the game, hiding next to them and making them wait the full 4-5 minutes to die.

You’re stooping to their level just to get a little revenge? LETS GOO I forced someone to play 5+ minutes of a game I was already gonna lose. Just as immature as a DC/suicide on hooker. But hey you do you lol.

  • @Crowman said:

Because the game is more complex than just "don't camp".

There's valid reasons for the killer to be near the hook such when other survivors are heading towards the hooked survivor or the hooked survivor is between a 3-4 gen area that the killer wants to defend. Reassurance with the current values is way to effective at forcing valid situations into lose-lose situations on the killer which isn't exactly fair.

Not to mention the ability to grief other survivors by preventing them from dying. If you think a killer facecamping you to death for 2 minutes is bad. 2 survivors can "facecamp" you forever.

Forcing a lose-lose situation. Like every single anti-loop killer, tunneling, and camping? Or we just ignoring that

You make a very good point. We are just playing a video game. We didn't design the game or create the game or develop the game. We aren't logging in to work. We are logging in to entertain ourselves and sometimes the games mechanics put us into games with players who are too scared to do anything or too stoned/drunk to realize whats going on. Sometimes staying in those games makes one an enabler. Furthermore, lots of people play soloQ just to do their daily and rift quests and they don't have any intention of doing anything else besides their quests.

Honestly the only reason I regularly play SoloQ beacuse the matches that are fun are REALLY fun and peak DBD. Like having a teammate that gets that game changing flash save with 0 comms. Or your entire team trying to figure a way to save the person on hook in endgame. It is ADDICTING and extremely fun to play those types of matches. But instead I just get bad players who literally do not know how the game works. It’s so painful when you put in so much work to carry but you get shafted anyway. And when you play with SWF that are good you’re a toxic gen rusher. You play to have fun you’re a toxic bullyer. Survivors can’t really win. It goes both ways with the survivor rule book and just baby rage and entitlement a lot of survivors have.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/340425/why-the-hate-for-hook-suicide

Because you're completely screwing over your teammates - just because they didn't play how you wanted.

Solo queue means you'll get looping gods, immersed self-carers and everything in between. Sometimes you'll win, sometimes you'll lose, sometimes you'll get carried and sometimes you'll have to carry yourself.

Throwing a pout and suiciding immediately makes the game unwinnable for your allies, as well as denying the killer points and BP. It's pure BM.

Who wants an immerse Claudette who never touches a gen and runs into the killer’s power when they’re not even the one getting chased? Maybe if you want a good laugh but who wants that the majority of their matches?

That would cause so many people to take a break from DBD. Killer Q times are going to be even longer if people aren’t allowed to a leave match where your team is literally doing the killer’s job for them. The people that DC just beacuse they got downed first ARE immature and do need to grow up, I agree with that. But it is so infuriating trying your very, very best to carry a match, putting it your all, then watching your team spit on that hard work by making the worst decisions they could’ve possibly made. It’s like if you’re in a group project and when you do all the work while your partner does absolute nothing, and it’s time to present they just say some random BS not even follow your presentation; giving you a failing grade because of them. I get I signed up when playing SoloQ but that dos not make it acceptable to give me that type of experiencing when I gave you $60 + DLC hoping you fix it.

Like with SWF you have a team and even if you lose or even if your team sucks you laugh it off cuz they’re your friends. With Killers you only really have yourself to blame if you lose unless someone like 4% and gets hatch or a game breaking glitch happens. Even when going against a SWF it’s been proven time and time again it is possible. Weather it’s fair or not is totally diffent matter but I digress.

Like I’m an A-hole for ruining the match but the immersed Claud gets a free pass? I just disagree with that 🤷‍♂️

I tried to keep some balancing points in mind for Unrelenting:

    1. It only works in chase, so it doesnt hinder stealthy abilities at all. My main focus with it was for it to feel more along the lines of "Unrelenting" (as a name). As if it's this growing power that goes out of it's way to use it's might to it's best advantage.
    2. The effect is only really majorly beneficial when a lot of survivors are close by, or in other words, it's only really strong when survivors are playing super aggressive towards the killer.
    3. The aura reading range is kept to 8 meters to keep it more in line with other aura reading addons that are similar, but they still compete with them. Wraith's All Seeing and Bubba's Light Chassis addons will still show the auras of survivors not in chase, for example. Plus, you still have to make the decision on rather it's worth sacrificing a perk slot for the effect over using an addon and vice versa.

Also the mist trails from Predator glow by default, but the main point was to make tracking while in chase, tracking while not in chase, and tracking hiding survivors, to be made way easier. The mist is suppose to be easy to see, and to be a replacement of scratchmarks, and even easier to see from a distance. And since the mist floats a tiny bit by default, it should display over grass which might otherwise interfere or cover scratchmarks. Of course, this is just a concept, and there are no visuals, so there isnt really any easy way I can explain it without having my perk descriptions being an entire essay.

Ohh than I think they think these buffs would be pretty decent.

Thats how they rank your mmr? I'm almost positive it isn't but it would make sense cause it would be the easiest thing to code.

Yes. They said escapes no matter the context is a win the same with kills. And if you die even when looping for 5k gens it is considered a loss. The game looks at it as 4 1v1’s against killer. Not 4v1. Says a lot don’t about game and devs don’t it?

  • @Alcuin said:

I was saying that Demo is at least B-tier. I would but him at A but not higher than Artist, whom I consider S-tier.

Wait really? Artist is kind of meh imo. She places crows survivor leaves loops. And if they’re decent dodging crows isint too hard. It’s pretty difficult good survivors to force a down with her anti-loop.

  • Then why do you care? They’re giving you free downs. Sounds like it does work and you’re just annoyed and trying to do this reverse psychology so people stop doing it

In that case.. Why don't you protect your friend? Sure, the price is gonna be high, but it is all you can do.

To make it the worst for the killer, just hop onto generators and get them done ASAP. Each second you're not on a generator is a second wasted.

The moment you do queue for the match, you do accept the fact that you may be tunneled or camped to death, or play against any of the available killers. Yes, that's just the way it is. It sucks, but it's not like you can do a thing about it.. You're sayin', that you'd rather give up and ruin the match to other two players, who're not your friends? Yikes.. That's some selfish mindset..

If someone disconnects early, then you shouldn't follow his or her example. Prove that you're better. Prove that you're not such a loser. Not only it'll make you feel better at the end of the day, but you may still escape the match.. May.

Players with the same attitude or mindset as yours are the reason, why do others tend to give up early aswell. It's infectious.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3125148#Comment_3125148

If you play Solo Queue, you do accept the fact that you may encounter such players. If you wanna avoid such cases, get into SWF or play as a killer; But, I'm certain you knew about those possible ways around it, aye?

In that case, you're just looking for excuses for ruining matches to other players.

So you’re telling me to have fun I either need to have people play with me or play completely different role?

Im looking for a fun time. Having teammates that do the killers job for them isint exactly a fun time after the 80th time it’s happened. It’s not a player problem, it’s a MMR and BHVR problem. It’s not the players fault they’re matched with players that have no idea what they’re doing. No multiplayer game has teammates so horrendously bad before. Yes you’ll occasionally get you’re team that throws in other frames; in DBD, it is guaranteed you’ll get someone who does little to nothing for the team and/or does the stupidest play imaginable.

Just had a game where 2 people got hooked and I was injured. The Kate decided to go to BASEMENT WHILE HEALTHY when 2 people are on hook and another one is going to 2nd stage. SoloQ is at an unacceptable place and the only real reason people still play it is for the very, very, very, VERY off chance you’ll find an actual decent match which is actually really enjoyable and addicting. 99% of the time you’re getting that Kate in the basement while 2 people are on hook. If anything your team is looking for an excuse to ruin YOUR games. But sure let’s blame the players that are getting oh dogged on by BHVR’s poopoo caca balance and MMR calculations that don’t even work half the time

  • @Neprašheart said:

You do know the reason, why're you asking? Because only losers do give up early.. And to be honest, those people should stay away from social networks and online games aswell.

If you do care about the quality of your team mates, do play SWF; Sure, it may be a pain to search for the optimal team or group of players, but you can do it. The fact that you're excusing yourself for your own mistakes kinda puts you into the same category as those, who do Self-Care in the corner of the map. As always, neither me or you can claim that it's a bad strategy, as it's dependable on the situation you're in.

Unless you do present a clear case scenario, I'm ready to argue as to why using Self-Care is a good strategy when it comes to Solo Queue; Of course, I don't like using the perk alone, I'd always pick Botany Knowledge when I'm at it.. Maybe even Desperate Measures.

My mistake is having a Claud who doesn’t know how to play? This game is 1v4 as SoloQ; killer and 3 survivors vs you.

  • How come I get timed out for saying this but you don’t 🗿

Because a win is a win. It technically makes more sense than whatever convoluted logic people use to justify their emotional representation of skill in a game with plenty of variables despite being one of the most simplistic games on the market.

So if you loop the killer for 5 gens then get face camped at Endgame and die against a Bubba that player isint skilled? It should go on how long you loop a killer as survivor and how many hooks you get as killer. By BHVR’s logic I could just run Sole Survivor, Wake Up, and Left Behind; hide all game and wait till my team dies and get guaranteed exit gates unless the killer comes instantly. By they’re logic I’m skilled. Makes no sense whatsoever to have kills and escapes as skill.

People suiciding on hook don't get a valid opinion.

What people that feed the killer a 2K at the very start of the match?

  • The last is extremely powerful no?

The rest seem like pretty good ideas but the mist part would be visually annoying. Imagine seeing 3 musky mist trails on your screen. Feel like it would be more of a detriment dwindling on how it looks visually.

  • And to off set that you have the best 3 gens any map can offer. Still a pretty survivor map tho

  • Seems pretty petty. Survivor queues are like 1-2 minutes anyway. If I have a match where my team decides to go down by making the most stupid plays possible I wouldn’t want to spend much longer in the match. But do not DC please stay in the match for 4+ minutes because I don’t want to get timeout again

If it's the site I'm thinking of, the most common match outcome for Artist, Huntress, Twins, and Demogorgon is a 0k. If one is sharing game-related stats on site, that player is invested in the game and not new. How are such players getting 0k's with A-tier killers? There's an obvious bias to those statistics, but I'm guessing some users are just rigging the stats.

What? Demo is at the very least Btier and really decent killer. Just played him 2 hours ago and I got like 8 or so 4K’s not in a row but if you know how to play him he is very much a threat. He’s not as good as Blight, Spirit, Nurse, or Oni but imo he’s better than most anti-loop killers like Artist, Nemesis, Pyramid Head, and Pinhead. Maybe Pyramid head would be better since he can’t hit through loops and he does have a high skill ceiling but Demo doggy pretty’s good. Sounds like a skill issue.

Your pressure argument doesnt make much sense. The killer can only chase one. At that point the one not being chase should just run to a gen. A game won and lost based on what gens are done. If anyone on your team understands this and can loop you can pressure the center. Its usually what I try to do.

If people are just slamming random gens with PT yeah its speed is less important. PT is strong in pointed pressure situations. Its just a fact. Regardless of the way you try to weirdly justify that its not. It by itself makes and breaks games.

Yet he can easily injure 2. Especially with STBFL. Even without it most killers are gonna injure/down both of them. He as to waste time going to a gen and risked getting injured/wasting resources when he could’ve just done a separate gen which most likely would’ve gotten done while the other survivor also on a different gen is now getting chased.

I know. I literally said that’s when it’s strong. 2 different times in fact. HUH? In almost all my comment I sai- you know what yea sure 🤣 go off king. Yes it breaks games so much so that every comp player runs it- wait a second

  • Just ignore it. Chases will end quicker but if your team has a brain and if you’re actually decent at the game you should still win with gen progression. The reason Pent/Play works so well is because survivors waste so much time. Just ignore it and be extra vigilant, slam gens like normal = win.

You are literally whining about him? What do you expect lol?

Nemesis is killer in DbD and you will see him time to time. Like it, hate it. He is not going anywhere.

But alright. What do you want to change about him? If anything is your mind, shoot it. If you have nothing, what are we discussing?

WHAT? You’re right how dare I, a survivor, complain about an anti-loop killer. Can’t see any logical reason as to why I ANYBODY who plays survivor wouldn’t want to play against an anti-loop killer. With their anti-looping abilities.

HE’S A WHAT? Nah. I thought he was part of the DBD x AOT survivor skins. Are you sure he’s a killer? I can’t believe this. Really opening my eyes rn. I could’ve sworn he could repair gens. I thought him being able to injure survivors and literally being in the side where all the killers are was a glitch/bug.

So you’re telling me the license content they spent thousands of dollars on isn't going anywhere? The sole reason why DBD isn’t dead and one of the sole money makers of DBD? But why? I NEVER knew, I thought they were gonna remove him and half of the killer roster that’s anti-loop. And that’s exactly what I said in my comments for you to be bringing it up!I can’t believe this you’re truly a genius thinking outside the box. You should write a book.

People may be scared of a little spider and may be not scared of a monster from another dimension. IT IS POSSIBLE!

Then? It is an hoorror game only if it manage to scare EVERYONE? Obv not! It iss an horror game if the purpouse of the game is to scare and/or create a spooky environment.

The assumption: "The game it is not scaring for me --> Therefore it is not an horror game ---> So we can and should nerf the basement" is illogical.

    Stop beating around the bush.

Do a poll and ask people if they’re scared when they play DBD. Besides a jump scare by a stealth killer there is nothing scarey about this game to anybody older than 10.

  • Funny I don’t see “Nemisis has no counters” anywhere near my comment. I said he’s a pain in the ass. He’s an anti-loop killer. Anti. Loop. Put 2 and 2 together man, the only person having fun is the killer.

I disagree with that too. Prove Thyself incentivizes doing gens which is more efficient then soloing a gen. Even in early game it is a powerful tool to take out strategic gens near the center. Which you dont need to communicate to your team to get them to do the gen with you since as soon as people see you have the perk they want to get in on those points.

Playing that to the second card is worthless when you lose efficiency with your team as a whole. The only time that you get that value that your talking about in the other instances is if all the survivors are actually doing gens. Which in soloq is a huge issue since everyones doing archives or dailies or screwing around. Swf is different, but we arent talking about swf.

Its a very powerful perk which is oddly undervalued apparently.

Yea and if a killer comes to your gen he know has double the pressure. 2 people aren’t doing gens now which can lead to a snowball since now they’re in the same area. It is not more efficient than soloing a gen? 2 people doing 2 different gens is faster than 2 people doing 1 gen with Prove Thyself. And even if it were faster it doesn’t change the fact that if the killer comes you’re helping him now since you’re either getting chased or wasting time trying to leave the area. The center, where the killer always checks and defends the most? You get point while also putting yourself at a disadvantage because your efficiency is cut in half. Again the killer finds you and that gen isint getting completed. Giving him free pressure at the sake of 6 seconds and some blood points. Which why play survivor at all then? Play killer it gives more blood points.

In SoloQ my team doesn’t even know how to unhoook people. Weather they do the gen or not if they’re bad they’re bad. Odds are you weren’t going to win. Especially since it’s slower with PT.

Because it’s situational, relies on your team, and gives the killer pressure. Any mobility killer will gladly thank you for running PT, 2 injured survivors not doing gens.

    More Nemmy, more fun.

Exactly as survivor I love when an anti-loop killer makes looping a pain in the ass.

Your point goes out the window in late game. Thats where Prove Thyself is more effective

It only cuts down on 6 - 7 seconds on a gen. Considering all it does is negate the penalty from normally doing it with another person and most people use it at beginning to mid game the perk is not that good. In a 3 gen situation yea sure, but in most cases it’s helping the killer.

Because it's a horror game, and therefore there should be situations where the survivors are in fact scared.

Yes I’m so scared of a lady that pukes, some TEENAGERS, an old lady, a guy who can go transparent and rings a bell to tell you he’s going to attack, and a pop star. Soooo scarey.

Its so funny hearing people say survivors should be scared yet when they run a flashlight or have the ability to talk to each other suddenly killers are the ones afraid. This is such a dumb argument too lol. Basement isint scarey lol. DBD is party game with a horror theme. If DBD was supposed to scarey how about making it so killers don’t get stopped by a piece of wood, some killers are literally gods but a piece of wood, yep that stops them. Pissing my pants.

How are they boring? Maybe try hitting great skill checks if your attention span is less than 10 seconds.

Yea who doesn’t love holding a button for more than a minute then occasionally pressing another button so you don’t have to hold said button for longer. Woo exciting gameplay doing absolutely nothing for more than a minute straight. That’s what I paid $60 + DLC for

Why is it a problem for Survivors to run three perks to counter one game mechanic, but not for Killers to make full builds to MAYBE mitigate one possible problem, while still being unable to stop several others?

What problems? If gens go too fast you don’t need full slowdown. You play Blight and you’ll enough map pressure if you’re good enough, or any decent killer. Sounds like a skill problem.

Any item can be counter by Franklins. Flashlights ?Lightborn. You’re playing against sabo squad? Crowd Control. SWF? Learn nurse, you’ll 4K at 5 gens. Now let’s look at survivor: Faceamped by Bubba? Dead. Tunneled? Dead, unless you can loop the killer for 5 gens AND the exit gates. Good Nurse? Dead. No work hard counters any of these only minigate. Anything a survivor can do there’s a perk or you just have to actually be good at the game to counter. Entitled mf

. The ONLY problem is gens speeds which have been nerfed already and killers still have so many other slowdown perks.

Indeed they have more flexibility why not bringing DS,BT or guardian and deception and pebble?

Deception and Pebble suck tho. Only really works against dog killers. DS is dead and doesn’t do much. BT is still very good.

Newsflash: DBD does not solely consist of SoloQ.

Make up your mind: Does a killer need his power to get a down? Or are SoloQ players so bad that you can play with a blindfold and still get a 4k? Then you don't need your power when playing without a blindfold. Also I was not saying he reached high rank with this meme build, but that he was playing against survivors in the high ranks.

You’re right if only there were different variety of skill that a player base has. But nooo they all have the same exact skill set and play the same. You’re right.

    If only DBD had MMR.

  • He’s so easy to counter. If you want chase interaction camp a pallet and don’t drop until he hits you. You stun him out of his power and he has to chase you. And honestly just spreading out. It’s the best strategy against any killer. Can’t do anything about the SoloQ teammates that are gonna feed him tho.
