We do need other sort of interactions for Survivors. Doing just gens is indeed boring.
The ten second increase was a dumb change not by itself but because BHVR already buffed killers in the same patch and nerfed the distance survivors get when they are hit. So it's a triple buff in chases for killers : - faster swipe - faster kicking - survivors getting less distance; and THEN BHVR still touched the gens.
Its a bit too much. ESpecially Considering how Pain Res combines so well with DMS, considering Jolt has no cooldown anymore, considering Sadako has 2 good gen slowdown perks aswell. Pain Res is much better than Pop ever was, less effort required. Just put them in the "correct" hook...Yeah sometimes you won't make it to a Scourge hook but you're still getting high value of a simple JUST EQUIP IT Perk...
I understand kill rates were low and it demanded changes, it's obvious they were for majority of players, majority of players aren't Streamers who play the game for 8+ hours a day, BUT BHVR made the mistake of changing too manny things and we don't know how impactfull every single of them are on their own, we only know the results of when they are all combined.
The game is balanced. Where did you get this unbalanced game thing from? Did you even boot up the game after the update?
-
Then go do chases and unhook people or literally anything else except doing gens if you hate them so much. If you can't do the literal main objective of the game then maybe you shouldn't play it or play with bond, prove thyself and resilience. That's 24% less gen repair time even with 1 other person on a gen. After all you despise gens so much.
This game isn't chasing simulator 2022 or unhooking and healing people simulator 2022.
-
It's clearly a feature.
Source: trust me bro.
-
I swear if they do anything to nurse which I don't even play I will never play this game again. I refuse to live in a reality where a kid with 4 friends booted up the game in a survive with friends just so the killer with iri 1 can post this screenshot to the forums to pretend that nurse is op.
How much are they paying you?
-
If you hook 2 survivors in 45 seconds or 30 then you are either lucky, don't need DMS or the survivors are absolute trash at the game.
-
If I again see someone saying that the update was killer sided, I am going to gouge my eyes out. I would rather be blind at this point.
Don't play the game if you are going to DC constantly.
Also I guess we know who the DC'er actually is in that story, it's the OP.
Anyways when are we going to get the killers insta-kill everyone update BHVR? Would be pretty cool ngl.
-
Maybe instead of repairing gens and watching a progress bar we should instead run around the map searching for generator parts and then come back to the generator and insert them into it to repair the thing if you can't handle 1m and 30s which often get's interrupted in some kind of way unless you are the most unlucky/lucky person in a match?

What is the 4 hours in reference to? You wrote 10 hours. I have no idea about your life but for me at the moment 10 hours to spare is a lot.
What I mean is that we know and BHRV have also stated that getting to Iri 1 doesn't reflect skill it's basically a how of how much you have played in the month. So in turn you get rewarded for being able to play a lot and punished if you can't. I've had so many times where I'm able to get one pip away can't play for a few days. Get a spare moment and lose all those pips and that's all I have time to play for the month. Where as when I had a lot of time it was like "No, problem I'll just continuing playing more to get to the next grade level".
If it was actually based on skill I would accept it and think "i'll just have to get better and congrats to those who are able to do it". Maybe you think a system that pays out based on playtime everyone month is fine but just don't turn around and claim "get gud" because it's nothing to do with that.
Anyway, it is what it is.
It's already based on skill, I pipped before even when my teammates were suffering from Alzheimer's because I am not completely brain dead, Also I guess that BHVR said it wasn't based on skill just to appease you lmao. If you can pip frequently due to being good at the game which I certainly do then play time shouldn't even be an issue. I guess you have 1 full time 8 hour job and some other part time one since you can't even spend at least 1 hour on the game you like everyday consistently. 4 hours was in reference to it not being much to spend on the game per day. But I guess you can't play for multiple day's straight somehow. I guess you are the busiest man in the entire DBD community.

Sorry for having good opinions you don't agree with.

What version are you playing where you don't get skill checks when repairing a gen? The only way this can happen is if you had 3 people on a gen with prove thyself or 4 on one gen.
Edit: wrong quote lmao

Are you implying hitting great skill checks is in any way exciting or not boring?
and even then, skill checks are coming inconsistently, you can sit on a whole gen and may get only one or even no skill checks.

"Moral of the story: Git gud.
There's really no reason to bother removing it.
All ranks grant bloodpoints so i find it fair to have a de-pipping mechanic to prevent anyone not good at the game from getting 1 mil which they can get in 10 hours anyway."
That's the whole point of this argument. It has nothing to do with being good. If you have enough time to sink into the game you'll get to Iri 1 no matter how bad you are.
I'm a case in point. When I wasn't working got to Iri 1 every month. Now I work it's a struggle. I'm not even getting to Iri IV. It's not like I dropped in skill I just don't have time time I used to have to play.
I'm all for rewarding people for playing well. I'm just totally against a system that punishes people who can't play as often.
You still get blood points in the end and 4 hours isn't much. Idk what you mean by the system punishing people who can't play often.
-
How are they boring? Maybe try hitting great skill checks if your attention span is less than 10 seconds.

No, I'm fine with it not countering every killer power in the game. I think it's in a great spot now. It's actually pretty common to find it at higher level MMR, but only because these players know how to use it.
I also think the 0.5s endurance, 1s animation is fair and prevents Lose/Lose situations near pallets, and instead turns it into a 50/50.
I should be a 1s endurance then so it ends when the animation ends. I hate waiting for the animation to finish because I know that halfway through it I can hit the survivor but I would rather not take any chances when I have a guaranteed hit.
-
Imagine missing the most important announcement related to the game and then complaining that you lost your perks after not prestiging anyone.
Also nice estimate of 5-20k matches lmao.
GG re.
-
Just hit them. You get more blood points from hitting them. Instead of staring at their ass for 2 minutes you can get them out a lot faster if you just hit them.
Do you guys want to complain or extra blood points?
-
The best way to settle this debate is just to put both sides in a ring and let them beat each other to death. Would be solved faster than anything else.
-
Oh so that's why the previous 2 legions i played against tunneled and camped.
-
It's annoying but the only real way this could happen is if you were standing near a window near a wraith and he moved in front of the window or he just cut you off via mind game or something.
-

I mean....good?
One step away from gen slowdown/regression meta is another step towards a chase or tracking meta and I'm all for that.
A tracking meta would be an absolute joke. I use bloodhound and sloppy butcher and when survivors don't heal often i basically know where they are practically all the time due to the massive blood trails that last long as hell. So they either constantly heal instead of doing gens or i know where they are at all times. This would be absolute hell on nurse's calling, bloodhound and sloppy butcher on someone like wraith, especially with the speed addons.
Thanatophobia is basically completely useless unless you have everyone injured. Even if they nerfed it due to the 10s gen increase then instead of completely destroying the perk they could have easily just nerfed it to something like 4% or 3.5% without that stupid bonus that happens due to everyone being injured.
Now it's really only useful for plague.
-
I like the idea of a killer going through objects a lot. Imagine the mind games. But she mostly needs the wraith speed boost. I guess you could add the speed boost and the going through pallets and vaults together but nerf the speed boost.
-
I only managed to get a collective of 24 prestiges counting all of my killers and survivors. How in hell do you get one character to p40 when the game actively gives you rarer and rarer items based on your prestige on one character? Also when do you just only get iridescent items and addons? P100, P150, P200, P69420?
-
Everyone single one of my games no one DC's, suicides or anything. I feel like i live in an alternate universe at this point since i see so many posts about the game being bad while i am having a ton of fun playing this game. Anyways git lucky i guess.
Is in your universe the game 6.13 yet? Maybe that can fix something idk.
-
"Hiding is bad so i will go out of my way to actively make the gameplay experience of the specific players that do that worse by purposefully tunneling them out of the game because i also get higher MMR.".
I should be writing your posts for you.
-
MMR matched you with good players but you suck at the game due to not being to mind game good enough or just chase good enough or predict survivors in general. Basically get better at chases and you won't suck. Also tea-bagging is hilarious so i don't know what you are talking about. After all the longer the spend tea-bagging the less time they have to run away. Idk what you mean by bullying but i can think of 2 scenarios: A head on squad or a flashlight squad. For head on just quite literally don't walk into lockers. If you know that someone is in one then sidewalk into the locker without any kind of mind game which at least for me works for most of the time or just bait them out of the locker. For flashlights just wear headphones and look at rocks or something while picking someone up so they can't flash save.
Basically git gud and you won't have a problem.
This game isn't casual it's either competitive or in-between. The best way to enjoy the game is to get good at it just like with any other game. Also it really doesn't take much brainpower to get good at this game anyway. I just picked it up again after not playing for nearly 3 years and i already climbed all the way back to nearly silver 2 on survivor and silver 3 on killer after 5 days of playing it. I started playing again since monday.
Also the update made the game more fun. People love complaining.
-
Behaviour trying not to nerf random niche perks that barely anyone used challenge: impossible
-
I perform an ancient blood ritual to make sure that they will live no longer due to their crimes against humanity.
-
Just do gens and leave. You can stand in front of him to get bold i guess or if he spawned near a window then vault it to get some extra bloodpoints or something.
-
I never get accused of hacking nowadays which is very surprising. Although i always found cathartic when i got called a hacker because i mind gamed someone or successfully predicted where someone was as nurse or hit an absolutely ridiculous shot as huntress.
Treat it as a compliment to your skill.
-
This is the best thread i have seen on this forum and i fricking love it.

PEGI is the most inaccurate system when it comes to this age ######### anyways. I would absolutely let my child (if i had one) play this game if they are older than 10 years old. He will suffer and feel joy just like i did and no one can tell me otherwise.
Someone who can't handle blood is clearly not ready for life. And if you get scared by some spooky plague lady or some random defect with a chainsaw in DBD then you clearly aren't ready for anything.
It's a game. Who cares about the rating anyways as long as everyone is having fun.
I played the most brutal and violent games and even watched mortal kombat gameplays religiously and even played their mobile game when it released.
I never was negatively affected in any kind of way and i will never be. A kid won't get trauma from seeing blood in a video game and if he does then either he has some blood related phobia or his parents are snowflakes who would get their arms and legs cut off to protect him from the spooky violent video games.
This isn't the goddamn 90's or whatever where everyone thought that video games were the spawn of satan and your child will become a mass shooter because he played doom.
Age rating my #########.

Do you have any actual useful feedback to make on the topic or are you just going to make a fool of yourself strawmanning? And no, "stop crying" isn't useful feedback unless you can tack a "because" onto it.
Depipping's been around longer than I have, but skill-based matchmaking hasn't and depipping's role was to ensure that people didn't rise beyond their ken in the old rank-based matchmaking system. There was an issue with everyone eventually hitting rank 1 if they played enough and both depips and the steep iridescent pip-up requirements served to prevent that (though that tended to happen anyway, but that's a separate issue related to the way monthly refreshes used to work.) If you have a good reason for depipping to exist in the current situation where rank measures and rewards playtime, then I'm all ears.
And don't talk to me about bloodpoints when BP gain is at an all-time low... like, yeah, sure, I'll earn more than 2m bloodpoints on the journey to double iri 1, but how is that the point? Do I not deserve a reward if I've spent 100 hours on the game each month because I had an equal confluence of ######### games to enjoyable ones?
Ranks are literally just bloodpoints and i regularly get 20-30k bloodpoints a match (with barely an outliers) which is an average of 25k and most matches last like 10-20 minutes, average of 15 minutes. If i had 4 hours to play i would get on average 400k bloodpoints each in those 4 hours. This is barely even close to a problem and the only thing that you are doing is crying about it like this is rainbow six siege or cs:go.
You can quite literally get 1m bloodpoints in 10 hours of playing the game if you don't suck.
Moral of the story: Git gud.
There's really no reason to bother removing it.
All ranks grant bloodpoints so i find it fair to have a de-pipping mechanic to prevent anyone not good at the game from getting 1 mil which they can get in 10 hours anyway.
I have no idea where you got the idea that bp gain is at an all-time low. Back in the day i would barely get even close to 20k and if i did it's because either the killer got dunked on or i got dunked on or i brought a bp offering.

I agree that tactical play are fun aswell. That's why I said "Interactions with the Killer" which does not declude what you've said. Now tell, what am I suppose to "call out" for my team. Didn't know we had voice chat for solo Q. All that information talk is not really interacting with anything. i am aware of those things but it doesn't change what I've said. But I am appreciating your input.

Le mockery section: MOMMY I DE-PIPPED AGAIN. *Lights house on fire* HOW DARE THEY HAVE DE-PIPPING IN THE GAME. IT'S CLEARLY A BUG AND OVERSIGHT. LITERALLY 1984. *Le crybaby noises*.
Also you can easily get 1 mil bloodpoints just by regularly playing the game before each reset.

You're not likely to pip as a survivor with a 5-minute match. It's the same thing as when the killer 4ks with 5 hooks; there's not enough time to earn emblem categories. You can only pip up if the killer performs moderately well or you at least spend time screwing around with them once gens are done.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3113477#Comment_3113477
It's one of the best sources of bloodpoints in the game.
Ranks mean nothing except bloodpoints every 13th. Stop crying about it.

Play perkless freddy. Literally most toxic build i have seen in my entire life. My wife and children have quite literally died due to this build. i am still mentally recovering and in therapy from the feddy incident of 27.7.2022.
-
If you have a functioning brain then you will have fun. I had a couple games where my teammates had the intelligence of a pebble yet i still had fun for most of them because i in fact do have a functioning brain and don't suck at the game.
-
It's funny when i see someone say that their experience is extremely bad while in the game when mine is the exact opposite for 99% of the games as survivor or killer.
-
I saw only 2 people DC this week. I have no idea when this whole "DC/Suicide via hook" even started.
-
I would prefer if you spent your time doing literally anything else with your life except being a very unlikable person.
Anyways best build ever:
Distressing, deerstalker, shadowborn, whispers as trapper.
-
What the ######### did you expect?
-
Don't walk near lockers then. Or sidewalk into one while pressing spacebar which works most of the time anyways.
-
I have no idea what matches you've been playing. I get a different killer each game at low, in-between and at high mmr.
-
If the players weren't children then we wouldn't have a problem. Add a -10k bloodpoint penalty per DC instead of the waiting time. If you don't have 10k then you go into the minus. Now people won't DC because they want bloodpoints.
-
We clearly need a fat guy in this game guys. Also make his grunts ear piercing for the lolz.

That is impossible.
We do not have perks that say "cannot use on X killer," nor should we ever. What? Make it proc on only basic attacks? Then its best user would be Nurse, and that's not a road we should be going down if Starstruck and Knock Out are any indicators.
Plague is a killer who can keep survivors injured for around 50-75% percent of the game. That is 20% action speed penalty for more than half of the game. I don't think thanatophobia should be available for plague at least.
For legion you could just nerf it somewhat just so it's less oppressive or don't do anything.
-
4k only gives you more bloodpoints anyway. Also that rule that if you don't 4k you lost is just some bullshit that was made up by the lead game designer.
-
Just make it so you can't use thana on legion or plague. Then revert it to it's previous state.
-
Since when is nerfing something the equivalent of buffing it? Also gens never regress when blocked, so that DMS + Pop combo is going to only regress 20% which happens instantly after kicking a gen. Thanatophobia is quite literally useless unless somehow you manage to injure everyone or you play as plague and for gift of pain to go away just run at the killer and make them hit you lmao. Pain resonance is easily countered by being good at the game. You can counter pop also by being good at the game.
Skill issue?
-
Grab a ruler and measure the distance. Clearly that was what they wanted for you to do.
-
The gens were fine before and now. The only problem is you not being able to hold down m1 for 90 seconds.
