  • Been down this road before, wasn't healthy for the game. Yet here we go again.

  • You're well within your right to play ghoul, not really my argument.

  • @pidgeon said:

It is genuinely a skill issue gng Jason is just another A tier. Use the tables they're super op you can get invincibility, Dramaturgy, I think Invisibility too? I haven't tested what every effect does nor have I read the actual anniversary event guide thingy so I'm just testing as I go. You can also teleport across the map with those weird little black rifts. Filling up a table can heal everyone or allow every broken pallet to be turned into a party pallet. Its genuinely so good for survivor.

I get where you're coming from but we all know in solo-queue this has been a disaster. A full SWF, then I'll agree how this could be a boon for survivors.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

I'm just puzzled at omg we introduced diminishing returns, now let's make Jason who can get like 20 percent haste as a ranged killer

Also BHVR: Lets remove Tricksters haste addon

    Like make sense

I'll agree diminishing returns seems to be a mistake for killers.

  • Played the event about ten times now, and honestly, it’s just not good. This is the first time in a while I’ve walked away actually disappointed. Most of my matches end up being Jason or Ghoul, and the game expects you to juggle this awkward morsel mini‑game while the killer is free to go full rampage mode.

Events are supposed to shake things up, not make solo queue feel even more hopeless. And this is exactly why they can’t slow gens down any further in solo, killers would be 4k’ing nearly 100% of the time under conditions like this.

  • DC penalties don’t actually discourage people from disconnecting. Increasing the penalty time won’t address the real reasons players choose to DC in the first place. The community has latched onto “entitlement” as the catch‑all explanation, but that oversimplifies the issue and ignores the underlying problems that drive players to disconnect.

Survivors have enough things to speed up generators if they try, and "just use more gen control" on Killer shouldn't be the answer. They certainly don't need to go faster; if anything they need to be brought to heel and made even by making all generator speed, slower or faster, cap at a certain percent faster. + or - 25% seems fair.

I am not advocating for faster generators I am saying survivors already have to do generators fast or else face the consequence, as killer mains have it really easy right now with just getting 2 survivors out, then slug for the 4k. It's almost braindead easy, especially against an altruism group. Killers are basically handed easy wins most of the time.

If generators go any slower, it would kill the game for survivors as we've seen in the past.

  • Generators need to be done faster, it's the only priority for survivors. When the killer is able to get 2 people out of the game, it's a win for the killer now as slugging for the 4k is the norm. You can't win with 2 survivors left, only thing to do is focus gens as fast as you can.

  • @bleep275 said:

there is supposed to be a quality of life update to help address the slugging and tunneling issue.

Hopefully they can come up with something to appease both sides instead of focusing on just one side like they have been doing for a while.

Please explain this “caters to killer mains” comment. Are you basing this on anything, or are you just another survivor-only player who likes to come here to stir up “us vs them” toxicity?

Unfortunately your aggressive way of thinking is what is toxic, anyone that has played the game can understand. Please stop trolling my thread.

EACH 20 MATCHES??? For just one reduction??? They do know that there a lot of hackers that keep you hostage or make your game crash right???

They seemingly do not care, you're only there for the killers enjoyment.

  • BHVR seems to love making survivors mains wait and take them out of the gameplay while killer mains get to have fun and are in a very active roll.

  • Not enough survivors. If they add bots to the beginning of the game, people will complain too. Can't really "fix" the problem, just have to deal with it.

  • I have no remorse for killers that slug so with that, enjoy your queue time.

  • Instead of uploading all of them, just want to say I finally collected my last Doctor DBD Bot, amassing all maps played with them. I feel BHVR should add this as an achievement.

  • They can change their name but can't change the steam id that goes on the report, report away.

  • 2v8 pretty much showed how oppressive she is but the only thing that is a real problem is the hatchet hitbox, can still hit you even if you're behind cover. I know some people will defend it (of course) but it really needs to change.

you were so eager to back up a bigot that you misunderstood what i meant when i said "new".

i didn't mean new as in, starting to play right now.

i meant new as in all their queer fans will leave and be replaced by the bigots.

and the way you talk to me is so obvious too. you're so excited to be able to go a little mask off against us queer players. "do with that what you will". you love that we're seemingly helpless, and you're so desperate to rub my nose in it that you neglected your reading comprehension to do so.

it's almost like doing collabs like this emboldens bigots, which you are proving. i hope bhvr are taking notes.

Hmm for a bigot he does a lot of things a bigot wouldn't do. Shrug.

But don't let me stop your sensationalism.

Cause this another huge buff for cheaters and bully squads. At least before they need to hide they p100 character and if its only 1 p100 you know who should get tunneled first. Anyway another survivor sided update from survivor sided development. I did not even surprise why its only survivors perks getting buffed and camping became much harder (for securing second stage and not like hard camping). By the way many complain that killers target p100 survivors. Well 90% P100 survivors are bully/cheaters or just rude individuals so this change actually protect the most toxic part of community.

    I don't agree.

  • I think 2v8 shows how stagnant 1v4 gameplay has been for a long time. I'm not a fan of 2v8 but I can understand why people like it.

  • @Tyler3 said:

I agree it would be a good feature but then you'll also be missing out on specific items or offerings you may want.

That's fair, and I don't expect them to make a priority filter list (because lets be honest they would have by now) but their current system is okay. Just wouldn't mind a spend all function on top of what we got for those that understand the current system.

But I can see how some people would get upset "I spent all and I didn't get any of the offerings I wanted" type of deal. Pros/Cons to everything.

  • @Zakon05 said:

I can't figure this one out. The queue for killer in the regular game mode is also extremely long, but survivor is instant there as well.

If all the killers are flocking to play 2v8 and all the survivors don't like 2v8 and want to play the regular game, shouldn't killer queues in 1v4 be short?

It's more fun to play as Killer. When you have a friend or two then it's more fun to play as Survivor.

  • Killer has a big advantage right now, which is fine. I get it, it's hard to balance a 2v8. It really comes down to map balance that BHVR seems to refuse to do so Killer doesn't have to run miles to get into a chase and survivor doesn't have to worry about being curb stomped into the ground right out the gate.

One thing I would of liked seeing is remove the possible slugging, I'd even be fine with testing if the killer leaves the downed survivor that they get auto-caged but with a possibility of self-unhooking (like a 30-40%).

"Party game" "chaos mode" etc what people are calling it, after a few games you realize it's just not fun, especially playing survivor. (opinion, fun is subjective).

  • There is no chance that 2v8 becomes permanent. There isn't enough survivors that are willing/wanting to queue into 2v8, and would damage 1v4 normal game mode.

  • It's just not fun on the survivor side unless you feel like being slugged for the majority of the time. Killer side I can see how it's fun because you can just roll over people almost instantly. Mode came out without much thought IMO.

Yeah even when people were saying ‘I want 2v8’ I immediately thought “Not going to happen because the game isn’t balance to handle two killers chasing and there would be nothing interesting for survivors”. I was pretty damned stunned when they announced it about sure enough it had all base design problems I thought it would. Admittedly nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be if only because there’s certain features that should be in the base game anyway in this but meh…

BHVR can't even balance the maps, let alone balance the game mechanics. 2v8 is just a hail mary to get people in to buy cosmetics/dlc's at this point. They knew it wouldn't work but it gets people into the game and even if 1% buy from the shop, it's a win for them.

  • @Shroompy said:

A large majority of people have wanted this for years now and so far the reception has been very positive.

So if you dont like it theres a very simple fix, dont play it.

Good advice. You're seeing that now, hence the 20-40 minute queue time for killers. Enjoy!

  • Let's be honest, repairing a generator is not the most exciting thing ever, it's borderline tedious. This is why the killer role is more fun, it's active and rewarding. Looping killers is, to me, the only real fun on survivor side.

Too many people are looking at it as "just do gens, that's the real problem!". No, it's because doing gens is boring and no one really wants to do it.

"well go play another game", people do eventually and never come back.

  • @Peanits said:

It is not just you. A lot of people are excited to play Killer with a friend for the first time so there is a disproportionately high number of Killers are not enough Survivors to fill each of their lobbies. We've greatly increased the incentive for player Survivor in the meantime to help balance out the queue a little bit, but it's safe to say that Killer queue times will remain longer in 2v8 for at least a little while.

No amount of incentive will make a lot of us go through the terrible game mode of 2v8. Killer mode is fine, the fast gameplay is nice. But as survivor, it's terrible.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I can't speak for everyone but there is not a bonus level in the world that would make me want to play survivor in 2v8

Pretty much this. Queuing as survivor in 2v8 is a complete waste of time.

  • No incentive to play survivor in this game mode after you're done with the event tome.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Lol, then do everyone a favor and don't play as a killer and get all those free wins as a survivor. The queue times for killers is the one that's backed up. If it is so easy to win as a survivor then go nuts.

    Stop using logic against them.

  • It's a free slugfest for killers, no reason to queue as a survivor.

  • @jajay119 said:

honestly, some things definitely need to be taken back into the main game. The combination of the hooks and the cage of atonement has solved SO many problems in one swoop:

-no more suiciding on first hook

-it moves if the killer stays near it too long eradicating the ability to camp

-there’s no incentive to have to carry a survivor to a hook so has reduced slugging MASSIVELY.

I’ve been advocating for this change to hooks for years now and it’s nice to see it in action as it really works.

-Basekit self care on death hook has also been a pleasant surprise and a nice alternative to not being able to heal out of the dying state or get flashlight saves .

7 out of the 10 matches I've played has been non-stop slugging, absolutely miserable and makes you want to DC. Probably because killers are catching on that survivors can't do anything.

  • For low tier skilled killer players I can maybe somewhat understand why a nerf to WoO might be "necessary" but other than that it's such a non-issue imo.

  • Chaos Shuffle actually added fun into the game again.

  • @Atsuka_Anarchy said:

It’s unfortunate when that happens, and I know that experience is straight up disheartening, especially if it happens to you consistently.

That's why I always aim to be a S.T.A.R.S. team player every match. Survivors Taking Action Rescuing Survivors which means I will sacrifice myself a lot to make sure you get out😂

When a killer does all they can to tunnel you and keep you on hook, there may be a STARS player in your game that WILL try their best to get you out and that’s literally the best feeling knowing there’s someone out there doing so much to rescue you and tank hits. No, literally, it’s the best feeling in DBD playing Survivor when your teammates organize a save and you all escape.

That's such a Rebecca thing to say.

  • You should sweat all the time. Show people the fallacies in this game for what they are. If they quit, maybe we can get some change that isn't cash shop related.

  • If I get tunneled, so be it, go next. On hook and survivors camping lockers, I'll suicide, go next.

Being slugged at 5 gens, forced to play the killers terrible Blood Racing Game, this is the malevolence, the true horror that killers can inflict upon us, the end game none of us want to play other than the ill mind of the villain.

Actually missed that discussion, guess I'll stop reporting players who do it...

However in my defence the description for one of the report sections reads:

    Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Use this option to report a player for purposefully losing the game, not participating in or disconnecting from the game early to avoid defeat. Examples: AFKing, rage quitting idling, and refusing to participate in normal gameplay

Obviously reading the thread does highlight that attempting to unhook yourself and letting yourself die for hatch are mechanics. What this rule is depicting is going AFK to lose. So I understand it'd be very difficult if not impossible to police SoH.

However the issue is ofc, when people refer to Suiciding on Hook, they mean running to the killer, getting downed and then deliberately going for unhooks to get to stage 2, then letting the skillchecks go by uncontested so they die.

This does fill this criteria rules as written... so it's no wonder people get confused.

Edit: Maybe we need a community rule.

If you see someone suiciding on hook, let survivors save, down that player and leave them on the floor, with the mutual understanding of letting them bleed out. Let them get crows, then report them for AFK 😈😈😈😈

If lucky, maybe they'll DC for a bot, in which case you allow the reset and continue the game. They get their deserved DC penalty, and the game continues.

If nothing else, everyone will feel better. 😁🤘

So you suggest holding a player hostage that doesn't want to be in that game any longer? Doesn't sound like a solution, just sounds like you want to troll someone.

Hook Suicides are not the root of the issue, if BHVR started solving root issues, we wouldn't even be here.

And you think it's FINE to rob your team of any winning chances repeatedly just so you get your funny clips?

Can't really take these posts seriously anymore as it's mostly killer mains upset about it because they feel entitled to the bloodpoints. While the survivor is getting tunneled and watching their team mates spinning across the map. I'd rather just die on hook and go next.

  • @Nazzzak said:

A team of efficient solo players can sometimes feel like a coordinated swf. Sometimes a killer might also overvalue their performance and ignore a number of mistakes that made things easier for the survivors. I was watching Hens play solo the other night and a Nurse called them a gen rush squad. Hens rightfully pointed out that she relied too much on BBQ because after hooking him she completely ignored the survivor on a nearby 70% generator and instead followed BBQ to an aura across the map. She made bad plays but from her perception they were coordinating (with no gen perks or toolboxes no less).

    QFT

  • Seeing as killer aura builds can chew through distortion like it's nothing, it's pretty funny to see people complain about it.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

I’ve played mostly survivor today and haven’t seen a single Chucky player. I went against nothing but tunneling Blights and Weskers. Did someone lock him in a cage and throw away the key?? I miss the little guy.😥

In the end it always returns to business as usual.

  • @Crowman said:

I feel like ultimately a lot of survivors just don't want to play an elimination game, but DBD without elimination would be a rather boring game.

Think the game is just too easy to snowball, especially from the killer side so tunneling/camping is an answer for a lot of killer mains, because it works. This kills the fun factor for the other side because you technically can't do much of anything unless you're in a coordinated SWF.

Same goes for killer when 3 gens pop extremely early and you only have 1-2 hooks. Desperation hits hard. Some games just go way too fast for someone to even keep up.

It would be fine if everyone had a chance, a real chance at playing the game without gimmicks most of the time. Unfortunately that's not how the game is designed or will ever achieve a state of. So I don't believe ultimately survivors don't want to play an elimination game, I feel players all around (survivor and killer) just want better balance in said elimination game.

  • There really is no point in farming BP on survivor unless you just don't like playing killer. Just isn't worth the trouble.
