Yeah this is an important problem. After watching a couple of streams, I decided to not buy the skin even though I love it.

Lets ignore juking for the moment, because I don't think it adequately diverts the issue of allowing the survivors to feel like they have the upper hand on the killer. What NEW mechanics could be added to make survivors feel weak, but sneaky, that would actually be effective?Things that take the power away from the survivor:
- Making No Mither the basekit for everyone.
- 3 survivor matches
- hardcore mode without terror radius and perks
- 2 killers
Every single one of these suggestions break the game.
Myers is the best 4th killer in the game and his power is a limited one shot. No mither easily gives Myers's ability to the other killers without any drawback with unlimited EW3.
3 survivor matches are extremely boring. I never play those both as a survivor and as a killer.
Tinkerer bug was funny but mostly broken. If the scratch marks will be removed, I am okay with this change.
I have never played a killer without perks but from my survivor experience, the game becomes incredibly unfun as a perkless survivor even if I win.
2 killers would break the game easily in several ways.
He asked for something that would take away the power from the survivors.
Those things would do exactly that.
I love to play 3 survivor matches. It feels frightening and intense. Sadly most of the survivors like to simply disconnect. But when the killer is not camping (he usually doesn´t feels pressured to do so). Then it makes for some awesome matches.
The hardcore mode as i would love to play it: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/15899/hardcore-mode#latestYour thread looks nice and fun. I would love to try it out. I already said that if there are no scratch marks, I am okay with no heartbeat.
I understand that these changes would make the survivors feel weak and sneaky but it doesn't look balanced or fun.

Sheesh @Brady ... Seriously, who the hell cares about the ethnicity of survivors? They gotta be interesting characters I guess but this diversity garbage is just driving me nuts. Make them all blond Swedes or smoking hot Somalian women, I could care less. Backstory to either of them can make the game a bit more attractive, but it's such a trivial "problem", not even worth mentioning. We are not SJWs who want 'equality and diversity' in the fog.
Personally I just want different characters to play. We don't need 14 white men or 14 black women in the same game. Our preferences are different and everybody wants to play the game with the characters they prefer to play.

https://youtu.be/xJCuAFssn7sNone of them is safe though.
Vault and pallet jukes don't work against experienced killers. Also, as long as there is a safe way, why would survivors take a risk to do these things?
The best alternative way is being a runner. There are spots to lose the killer and force him to make a guess. It breaks LoS and I generally use this method.
Looping is not going anywhere. It is a part of the game and whether we like it or not, we should try to adapt it.

The opportunity to expand the games ethnicity and supply us with an Asian-native Survivor excluded from Min's nationality. (She's Chinese right? Maybe a Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese... So fourth).
It was more so a passed opportunity it feels like, also to mention that the Asian community on DbD is actually quite big and all they have is Min. It feels like a lack of and it's not a pleasant feeling.
Agreed though, all my roommates and friends thought Nea's outfit was Feng Min's... and they were disappointed to find out it wasn't.
Well Jake is also Asian so you have two people who are part of the Asian community in Dead by daylight. (Survivor wise at least so not counting Rin of course)
Jake being Asian American
Min being ChineseJake doesn't look asian though. At first sight, I thought he was latin.
A japanese male survivor would be very cool. It's a missed opportunity imo.

This is actually a very serious problem.
Several times, instead of opening the exit gate, I started to self heal for no reason.
As a killer, because of this stupid feature, I've got 4k. It happened to 3 survivors when they were trying to unhook the person on the hook.
One of the easiest changes that can improve the game experience. I don't know why they waited this much.

Why do the same perks show up over and over and over again?

The main building in the red forest was as much ######### as the barn was. The problem with that map though is that there are not many things to loop, juke the killer. They did a good job shutting it down but they should have added something for the survivors as well.

Sometimes killers push too much.
Use p3 ninja claudette --> Toxic
Use bright colorful clothes --> Toxic
-
Literally means random number generation.
It just means 'luck'
-
But it also means if I am leatherface and camp the first survivor holding m2 in front of them, all of them will lose.
There are strategies to save people from hook and stop the tunneling but if a leatherface is involved and if he doesn't want to give you the save, there is nothing survivors can do.
-
They literally gave you multiple moments to 4k but you couldn't use the chance.
You are a huntress. You can easily slug them. Just drop the survivor and start to chase and down others.
If all of them body blocking you, it also means that they are not doing gens. In addition to that, it means 4 of them will be injured and take additional time to heal up even if you can't down them.
I wish survivors body block me as well.

I think WGLF definitely needs something. I don't know if the proposed rework would work but as a survivor, it is really difficult to get tokens and when you try to get them, you put other survivors at great risk. The only tweak it needs is heal tokens.
%100 healing= 1 token.
You can reach %100 by healing different survivors. What I mean by that is that lets say you found a survivor but he already healed himself %25 so you get to keep your %75, if you find another survivor and heal her up to %25, you get a token.
It would be better I think.
Any reason you think it wouldn't work? Check out the edited post. Maybe it makes more sense and you'll like it more now. Not sure if u understood it before so yeah.
Increased tokens can mess up with the game's economy. You might think that I don't want survivors to earn more bloodpoints so that they can't buy insta heals etc. but in reality, if the survivors can get %400 more bp, killers can play a couple of survivor rounds and get their powerful ultra rare addons etc.
Completing generators, opening exit gates do not fit into the perk's idea. We are gonna live forever as its name implies, forces you to help your teammates directly. Yes, generator completing, opening exit gates are also beneficial but it feels like they are not related to the perk.
I believe counting healing as a token is the only thing this perk needs.
Did u read the edit on the op?
Oh I didn't see the edit part, read the whole post again instead.
It would make much much more difficult to get tokens and make the perk over complicated. I mean we can discuss this but I don't see devs making this change.

And? Instead of doubling down and investing resources into DBD, BHVR made the choice to invest into another game.Money went into Death Garden. I guarantee you team members were also shifted onto DG. They made a gamble and it's my earnest opinion that the resources would've been better spent on improving and reinforcing DBD.
Did you even look at the other divisions they have? While people may have moved over may'be they wanted to, they've also gone on a hiring spree so perhaps those people got replaced.
If someone wanted a new opportunity and decided to move over and you said sorry you've got to stay here. Well guess what they go to work for someone else that's willing to give them a new opportunity.
? Why does that matter? Good for the employees if they make their own decisions in an organization... But this has less to do with individual employees than the executives that are actually making significant decisions.. Such as not pushing for dedicated servers.
Dedicated servers are not a sound investment when each game session only holds 5 players. If we're talking about game sessions that hold 8 or more players, then yes it's worth the cost.
But why? I mean It is not a sarcastic joke, I genuinely want to know why it is not a good investment if each game session only holds 5 players.
Lets say that I have created a game and my lobbies hold 15 people. However, only 500 people play it.
Lets say that you have created another game and your lobbies hold 5 people. 50000 people play your game. And your game has problems like lagswitching, killers hitting survivors when they shouldn't according to the survivors' view etc.
Why should first one get dedicated servers while the other one doesn't?
-
I think both sides need more mechanics to play the game but this is way too OP.
Yes I believe some of the killer addons are also OP but instead of nerfing or reworking them, giving OP tools to the opposite side is not a good way to go. Yeah It could be kinda balanced if you can have this flare gun against an insta down Huntress but imagine having this against an addonless wraith.
Cheap tools are annoying and they shouldn't be in the game. Killers' addons shouldn't make them more powerful imo, they should just allow players to play in other ways like waterlogged shoe+scarred hand hag.

Botany Knowledge
You transform plants found around the map into tinctures that slow down bleeding. Collect herbs to create a brown medkit (or something like that). You can create 3 brown medkits per match. Medkits you have created will be shown to all survivors when they are on the ground.

However, I feel like that chapter was planned to be released this Tuesday or Thursday but due to bugs, maps etc. they pushed a little bit forward to solve problems.
If something like that is the case, we should be informed. At least they can say whether they will release the new chapter this week or the following week/s

Elegant said:I honestly think the killer is fine the way she is. She's going to have a decently high learning curve but she's not that bad. Currently she's a massive mind game killer and really rewards people for being able to play mind games well. I think she needs to hit live and be played for a little while before we can accurately judge what buffs/nerfs she needs. Look at games like League of Legends. Whenever a new champion comes out it almost always has a 40% (give or take) winrate because people don't know how to play it yet. After a few weeks/a month or so if the winrate is still low that's when Riot goes in and buffs the champion.
She has a high learning curve but is mediocre at best.
Also, BHVR doesn't work like Riot. There won't be any buffs until next year. Freddy was released for Halloween. He's been waiting for a buff for a year now.Don't expect any Spirit buffs in the next 12 months.
She isn't mediocre at best. If you get really good at playing her she will easily be at the top end of the mid tier killers. Possibly even low end of the high tier killers. But I do agree with you that they are way too slow with balancing changes.
Here is the problem with your statement though.
Just like you learn how to play as her, people also start to learn how to play against her. My first matches against her were horrible and I thought that she was one of the most powerful killers in the game. Then I have played one match as her and understood her power better. She is really easy to avoid as long as you are not caught in wide open areas. As long as she doesn't use some particular addons, I find myself more advantageous than the killer when she is in the spirit world.
I always said this though. We should really wait her release now. I am curious how she will be in the game when everybody tries to win. Then we can have a better understanding.
-
I think it is a great idea but, there are like 6 weeks until the midchapter. I believe they are already working on the rework and have their own ideas.
Interesting though. I really like Freddy's current power and instead of reworking it, something like this would be better.

"Buffs: every killer except Billy needs a buff."
the nurse absolutely does not need to be buffed."If killers would feel powerful, and not be under constant time pressure"
I disagree - If killers weren't constrained by time they'd just mess about and still do well for kills, or they'd face camp and still do well (which no one really wants because it just isn't fun at all)."they would camp less"
Also, I'm sorry but nothing will stop camping - some killers are just awful, or try to ruin peoples games, and will face camp, camp, and tunnel regardless of how little points it earns them.I will have to agree with this.
Killers like Myers, huntress, hag don't need buffs. They suffer because of some game mechanics like gen rush or horrible map RNGs. There is not much buff you can give to them because their powers are good enough.
Only a small amount of people resort to camping and tunneling when they are forced to. The majority of campers and tunnelers do that just for the reasons that are listed here.
I think the only 'problematic' thing here is being under constant time pressure. Killers definitely need to be under constant time pressure but right now, it is just too much. If I can get 2-3 hooks before my hex ruin gets destroyed, I generally have good matches (I do that with huntress though, getting hooks is a lot harder with other killers imo). I mean we can kinda have longer games with a perk but killers should not be forced to use ruin. Secondary objectives are needed.
-
I don't understand why people say it is hard it is difficult bla bla
If getting dedicated servers are that difficult, how does F13 do that? If it is not that difficult, why cant DBD do that?
It is their fault if their code is like spaghetti. It isn't a good argument.
At least as customers, we should be able to demand it.

"Every killer should be as powerful as billy, not the other way round"WRONG. all killers should just be billy then. They all have their kits. some are easier than others but doesn't mean it's weaker. You need a bigger skill gap. i think freddy is fine. someone tell me his cons cuz i dont see them
Freddy is good against survivors who solely depend on stealth to survive.
His power is almost meaningless against good loopers because his power doesn't benefit him in chases.
When you become a better runner/looper you will understand what I mean. For example, when I started to play the game, urban evasion, Iron will etc. were a must have for me. When I got better, I ditched my stealth build and started to use other perks.
Again, if you solely depend on stealth and there is nothing else that you can do against a killer, freddy I dare to say is the most powerful killer in the game. However, most of survivors become better at running/looping.
His walk speed is %115 like most of other killers. He doesn't have crazy ms.

She translates player skill and experience into real performance that you can see. Nurse as is, is perfectly fine at base. Her addon need to be nerfed/reworked. 4 and 5 blinks should not be a thing since it eliminates almost all counter play for the survivors.nurse is not the only one that can stand, i've played some tournaments, and nurse main killed only one survivor, when the hillbilly main killed full team ;v
Because billy is easy to play skill takes actual skill and no im not a survivor main i am a killer main so have fun coming up with an arguement other than "HA RANK 27 SURVIVOR MAIN GIT GUD"
There is not much thing a billy can do if he faces good survivors. He can be easily looped.
Yes he can chainsaw people easily but you have your tools to fight him. 'If he gets close, he can chainsaw'. Don't let him get close then?
'One way or another he will get close I can't avoid him 5 gens'. True but we also need to remember that you are not the only target there. He needs to do that multiple times. This is not a 1v1 game. As a survivor, you are not as powerful as the killer. At least you shouldn't be.
Being an easy killer or a hard killer is not related to being OP. Nurse can be the easiest killer or the hardest one, it doesn't matter. She is broken, billy is not.
@yeet @Delfador Every killer needs to chase someone multiple times even nurse has to do it multiple times hell i find fighting her easier than billy because once you break line of sight with her just make her think you are going one way when your not simple. He has no draw back to one of the most powerful abilities in the game which is to cut the chase in half. He has immense map pressure and can instantly get to one side of the map to another better than nurse ever can. Yea being an easy killer doesnt make you op but if the easy killer has an extremely powerful ability it does because the more powerful the ability the harder to play the killer it should be. "There is not much thing a billy can do if he faces good survivors." I dont know what you mean here? That he needs his ability to fight the good survivors but in that case so does nurse so how would she deserve a nerf anymore than billy?
If a nurse is godly, there is not much you can do against her. Not every single nurse is like that but there are nurses who can down an entire team in one minute easily.
"There is not much thing a billy can do if he faces good survivors."
You can use pallets and windows against a billy. There is nothing he can do to catch you. It doesn't entirely depend on his skill to catch you. You need to make a mistake so that he can get a hit or chainsaw you.
Nurse? If she is good and if her blinks are on point, there is no way to go. If she can read you well, she can easily down you. She just struggles in some terrible maps like lery's institute. Her skill depends on her user, not survivors.
I don't know which tournament you are talking about but in the one I have watched, there were just nurses. The reason why people chose to use the nurse rather than billy is because she is much more powerful.
You can ask any good survivor or killer in the game, in the forums, or the streamers. I don't think anyone will say that nurse is weaker than billy.

I will say this over and over again.
Billy is the most balanced killer in this game.
Except for 2 killers, if somebody gets downed in the far corner of the map, you can still repair %30-40 of your generator until the killer reaches you. If a billy downs and hooks somebody, you know he is coming for you and it is gonna take 5 secs. You will always feel unsafe.
When you make a mistake when you are looping, most other killers will hit you and you will continue. Billy can easily punish that with his one hit down ability.
Since he has one hit ability, you can't fck around a billy. He can easily punish survivors' mistakes with his mobility and slugging ability. You should play the game cleverly, if he finds multiple survivors, he can easily win a game in 1 min.
On the other hand, unlike nurse, you still have your means to fight him. He can be looped, he can be juked etc.
IMO, Billy is the only threat that is 'managable' in this game.

Just a small idea to add a little more pressure on Survivors here : How about a timer when you’re hit and bleeding, that if you don’t get healed to full, you go into dying state. It would be long of course, like two minutes or possibly more, but it would add a little more urgency and more weight to being injured. This would also alleviate some issues with Stealth Killers who get the initial hit, but end up getting Looped for 2-3 minutes straight because their powers are useless in a chase.
Plus, it makes sense. Your losing Blood and running your ass off.
Players like me who don't use self care doesn't enjoy the challenge necessarily. I genuinely believe that that perk is not very strong. Bond is better and has more usage than that perk.
It will force survivors to use a perk. Yes for the majority of community, SC is a must have but many good survivors don't even use that perk. Angrypug, Jendenise are a couple of examples.
Killers are forced to use some perks like Ruin and BBQ. Many of them can not freely choose the perks that they want to use because of some game mechanics. Instead of creating more problems for the opposite side, we should focus on how to give killers more freedom when they are choosing their perks.
The reason why I generally talked about perks is because your suggestion seems like it forces survivors to use a perk.
Also, although it might help stealth killers, there are killers like the nurse, huntress, billy etc. This will make them stronger.

Soon™Not much to speculate on...
But we can work it out...
Now...
The "S" written in caps means the start of a sentence, but is a single word, so it mai be for importance, that mean is "a lot soon" maybe sooner than we think.
Soon is made of 4 letters, two of them can be mistaken for zero, wich means S00n.
Talking about numbers, on a calculator S is written as 5, so is 500n n obviously is newton... TM is obviously tim... 500 newton tim time
newton discovered gravity... wich is 9.8mxsec so, 500n means 500xnewton=500x9,8=4900 time before the dlc...
but what time?this is difficult, can be seconds, minutes or hrs.
Hrs is irrealistic since it will means monhts of waiting
Minutes is more realistic, it will means 81 hrs... 4 days... seems acceptable...
Thanks not_Queen! yr the best!!Now i have to go, doctors are coming and i don't want to take my medicine...
*run awayWow
Just, wow

Sorry but killers should NOT be able to grab someone who has already started to “escape” through the hatch. It is total B.S. and unfair that something like that is even allowed to happen especially when the killer is camping the hatch. It is the last players last resort to escaping and you mean to tell me that the killer can stop them from even doing that! Sorry but that’s just another reason why this game sucks hard core and is in heavier favor of the killer than it is the survivor. Who ever thought that was a good idea can be fired plz and thank you. Don’t care what anyone else has to say I’m venting so leave me alone.
Want to know what is unfair? When killer ######### earns his 4k, but the game decided to give a free win to the survivor, who did nothing but hiding all the game, or doing mere 2 gens.
Thats shows how often you play as a survivor. If you played more as a survivor you'll know that there are many cases where the last survivor managed to do well, not hiding all the time or just doing 2 gens.
You want 4K? Slug the 3rd one and go kill the 4th one.
Your complaints are as valid as OP's onesTrue.
Killers need to understand that the survivors are not 'teammates'. There were matches where I have farmed my 'teammate' because he was wasting pallets like there is no tomorrow.
Survivors can play the game solo or as a 'team'. It is an option. You can use perks that purely benefit yourself or you can use perks that benefit your teammates.
Just because my teammates are morons, I don't deserve to lose. Hatch gives an option for the survivors who plays the game optimally.
