    No it’s not.

everyone and their nan knows what fnaf was plus look at the ps5 game launches fnaf was more talked about then any other game even more then cod

There's no denying that Fnaf is very well known, but Stranger Things rivals Fnaf greatly do to it being very popular among pop culture, for it being a show on the biggest streaming service in the world, and the same with Fnaf, the fandom shoved it down people's throats of its existence. But I want to hear why you said what you stated, that Fnaf is more popular than Stranger Things, I just want to hear a simple honest answer

  • @indieeden7 said:

Did you actually just say that a five nights at Freddy's chapter would sell better than a Stranger Things chapter?

Okay dude that is crossing a lione, Strangers Things is a lot more popular and well known then Fnaf, even I wouldn't state that, I don't doubt that Fnaf would sell quite well if it came to the game but not as much as Stranger Things did. Also this guy has to be a troll, there's no way, no way anyone would consider that.

  • Well I got a stereotype of Myers for you. Three words: Every Man's Dream. Also Daddy Myers, see when Myers wears his usual outfit in a trial , the survivors go boo. But in hospital gown, the survivors scream 'Yeah Daddy!' In short Myers is every women, but sometimes men's dream.

For Clown I can say as a Clown Main, people tend to play him either because they absolutely love killer clowns like Pennywise, Twisty, and Joker, or they have absolutely just want to suffer, or they have no idea what ######### they are doing. But experienced Clowns tend to run very gen defense like build, or use an absolute chase build that can really mess up Survivors. Thankfully he'll be in the spotlight when his buff/rework comes out

  • I don't expect it to be the best do to how the devs are now but hey it'll still be cool

  • God I'm having Dwightcrow flashbacks now, thanks for reminding me

  • I found him a pain in the ass once, but now I say he's one of my favorites. He is good, you just gotta put the effort into him

  • For a second I thought you were serious.

Thanks Dabi! I really appreciate this! The Forums are definitely a great place to be especially during the pandemic.. I’ve met so many kind people and that’s rare to find nowadays. I’m thankful for a lot of great people I have met on here, I can’t name all of them. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving, and has a very happy holiday season. Stay safe and enjoy the company of family. If you want to connect with me my Insta is @phillipwampler and discord is PhillipWampler#3594.

    Thanks

  • Aw thank you, its because of you guys that I've kept coming back to DBD. You guys tend to make me feel very welcome and happy when on the forums, sure we argue but you guys make me feel welcomed. Since the Pandemic began the forums was kinda my safe haven to see or chat with anyone. I was alone, so you guys lifted me up and I kept pushing, and I'm happy I kept with this game. Even with the toxicity its the good people like @Slashstreetboy @GoodBoyKaru , @Cornpopers_Evan , and @TheClownIsKing that keep coming back, Plus @Unicorn , @naughtyboyjames , @Wamps , and So many I cannot list, thanks for helping me through dark times of 2020. I honestly wish we all could speak to each other like face to face, discord or something.

Me neither, and I don't think anybody is forgiving Konami. But in the end, Konami screwing Kojima over gave birth to Death Stranding.

Yep that was a ######### up. But if silent Hill remake is somehow a success, they will probably Remake Silent Hill 2 (which I played). I will be kinda scared if that happens and I hope they live up to the original and add more to the story if they wanted too like RE 2

Honestly I'm done with the resident evil franchise. It seems like they're rushing things and making resident evil something not resident evil. RE3 Remake did this first. If Village can't save the franchise, I'm going to forget about it. But for now, I'm looking forward to the possible Silent Hill PS5 reboot in 2021-2022. Apparently most of Team Silent, the team that made Silent Hill, are in PS Japan Studios now. If konami decides to reboot, which is not unlikely given that they did give license to debadaylight.

I honestly would love to play the first game, its almsot next to impossible nowadays, but to be able to play the original in new graphics will be amazing. But I'mm not fully forgiving Konami for what they did to P.T.

Ah yea, I agree. RE7 is the only RE game that i felt bad for my enemies in. If you have played that DLC where you play as Zoe before that little ***** Evelynn comes, you'll see that they were a normal, good southern family.

Its just sad to think about, I hope RE Village lives up to what Re 7 was

Whatever it is, I'll just add here: I have 113,7 hours on resident evil 2, and 7,7 hours on resident evil 3.

Okay that's impressive you played that much. but the one villain that hits really hard for me was Jack Baker, the villian reminded me of my Dad, and seeing how psychotic Jack scares me with the idea of that being my Dad, now he is not like that, but it just scares me witht he fact that someone you deeply care about can become something that evil/dangerous.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1776265#Comment_1776265

Well we have different opinions about the game for sure, and there's nothing that can be done about that. But it is a fact that re3 remake is a bad remake, and a short game, good or mediocre or bad subjective. I think CAPCOM tried really hard to sell RE resistance with re3, which is why it was $60. I really hated they removed memorable things like not only those 2 worm, instant decisions, clocktower still had stuff inside it, like the melody puzzle. Puzzles were just not in re3 remake. Not a resident evil thing to do, as the first game and the originals of the remakes are filled to the brim with puzzles. It feels like they dumbed down the game and then rushed it. I think it was made like this by outsourcing the game to NEOBARDS, and CAPCOM's greed.

Resident evil 2 remake was a good example of a good remake and a great game. Sure, not everything was kept; second runs were not really different, but it was still somewhat true to the original, definitely much more than re3 remake. Perhaps I am being blinded by nostalgia, but even then I wouldn't spend $60 again if i had known the game is so short and mediocre imo. And it really shows; resident evil 2 remake was nominated for goty 2019, while resident evil 3 haven't had any success this year critically. Metacritic, as much as I hate it, deems resident evil 2 remake a must-play and it has a 91 score. Resident evil 3 remake has 79 critic score without a must-play. That shows that critics have seen the significant degeneration from RE2 remake to RE3 remake.

btw Mr. X wasn't scripted in re2 remake apart from very specific scenarios, here are some examples: getting out of the basement level with the 2 heart key and chameleon key rooms and Mr. X smashes through the wall sometimes, going to the S.T.A.R.S room in second run begins Mr. X roaming the police station, smashing through glass in laboratory like i said earlier, getting the library handle from the first hallway in a chameleon key locked room (only for leon because claire doesn't need to go here in her story), and those are the only that I can remember right now.

Every moment other than that, in the police station, were not scripted. He would always roam the police station, but there was some coding that would teleport him close but behind a few walls or rooms so you can't just avoid him all the time. Also it was possible to sneak him, by hiding behind doors when he opened them, stuff like that which made the player feel good about outsmarting the AI, whereas in re3 remake, nemesis barely has anything you can do to him other than dodging and stunning, and that is like the first part of the game where he isn't scripted.

I feel like Nemesis was a bit overuesed, but from what I heard Og Nemesis greatly resembled Jason Voorhees. The one we got was kinda over scripted but that build up the fear

FNAF isn't really meant for kids, they just play it anyway. Same with COD or GTA, it isn't meant for them...but there they are. FNAF is a game about possessed animatronics with the corpses of dead kids in them. Pretty sure a game about a serial killer that kills kids is NOT meant to be played by kids. Still....some of these kids who do play it ARE obnoxious and do harass others. The more mature fans (mostly) do not. I can see why people would not want FNAF in DBD as those specific toxic fans do not deserve it. But what about those that are not toxic? Should they be punished for the actions of a few? IMO, whether you are for or against FNAF being in DBD should not be decided on the hate for certain types of fans. Rather, it should be decided on the story, lore, and gameplay (how it would play in DBD, not the FNAF games gameplay.)

For the story and lore, the animatronics are possessed by vengeful spirits out to get revenge on the one who killed them. Whether or not this type of killer, in story, would work doesn't matter. The vengeful spirits are kids. The devs made it clear no kid characters would ever be in DBD, period. So that eliminates 98% of the possible choices for a killer. The only killer from the franchise that can actually work and would be acceptable, (isn't a kid, kid ghost, or otherwise) is Springtrap. Springtap...is NOT an animatronic. It is a person inside of spring lock suit, specifically...a serial killer. IMO, FNAF, specifically Springtap, Can fit story wise. The gameplay.....I don't see it. I cannot think of a power that would work for a FNAF killer AND make sense to both games. This is where it falls off for me. The story and lore fitting each other is fine...but what matters most is the gameplay. I just can't think of something that works for both sides. (Maybe something that uses the Madness status effect to induce the phantom jump scares from the 3rd game? Maybe not.) Perhaps the devs could come up with something that does...but until it is ever mentioned...gameplay wise...it is a no from me. Though, I am open to being proven wrong on any and all accounts. Regardless...I too think it would be best to wait quite some time before ever adding it to DBD assuming it ever would be. At minimum a year from now. Possibly 2 and it would be acceptable. All the toxic FNAF fans should have left by then...I think....maybe....

Again, I'd say no just cause I can't see how it works specifically in terms of gameplay.

Just my opinion that I put about a minute's worth of time into, lol.

Probably for the best. I've been trying to tell people that the Fnaf community was never meant to grow with kids for quite a while. Its probably we just wait for the future then we'll see, plus the filming for the movie starts next year in the Spring. So let's see how it goes.

The books go both ways for the kids/teen demographic, but that's it. Anything else in relation to FNaF you can find in the children's clothing/toy aisle at a local store.

I mean the new books/short stories are ######### disturbing to where I would consider it adult. An example is a pregnant woman dying in a ventilation system, getting possesed, and dead bodies of children, yeah I'm don't think that's meant for kids.

I never heard of Pumkinhead but hey sounds cool

I don't think FNAF belongs in DBD. and it's not just kids there are people in their late teens that can play this game that want it too, for some stupid reason.

    They're argument is

"But do you know the lore behind springtrap???? it would fit perfectly in DBD."

no it wouldn't, I really wish people would stop asking for him.

The Only reason why I would want him in the game is because Fnaf was the first horror series I became associated with. I hear people say they've been wanting Jason, Nemesis, Candyman and so on. Some even say they want to see the horror franchises that they first associated themselves with come into the game, well for me that was Fnaf I want to see the game that started it for me come into the game. But I would like to see Outlast, or Jason come int as well, maybe, fnaf can come in when those other big titles come first.

Uh how does this have any relation to age restriction? it doesn't honestly manner the age of the said people playing this game, if some one wants something they'll ask for it. Dude I'm in High school age and I would still like to see Springtrap in the game, but I would like to see Scooby Doo just for shits and giggles.

  • Quick Update: Welp School is officially over for me now, and I got a month long break till January . I have never, ever been more ######### stressed, exhausted in my life. Also, has the creator of fnaf even mentioned, expressed or shown any interest in doing the crossover specifically in the first place? and yes from what i've heard, he did say he was more open to licensing his stuff out, but that alone doesn't necessarily qualify that he would be open to straight up doing a crossover or how far he's willing to go with license his IP out.

He did say that, like he allowed Fnaf themed merch on Funko, and for Markiplier's Clothing company one time ( I'm sad I didn't get anything). However he is quite secretive on what goes on which I can understand, so maybe Scott and the Devs might have talked about it. We won't know until a Fnaf chapter does come out.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Mathieu Cote did say on twitter that anything could happen in the future in terms of licenses and also at another point somewhere which i can't remember where, that they don't turn away contractors even if parts of it isn't horror related.

Personally thou, i think the timing right now just isn't good and that it would be better to wait for it to happen more down the line once we have some of the other highly requested characters out of the way first. But i think a better question would be if it would actually benefit DBD more in the long run or not and how many people will it bring over to DBD from the fnaf community and if that's even a good thing?

Yeah he did mention that, and I can see why, but I agree maybe further on down the line but maybe not now, but I would hope it isn't more then two or three years before that happens

  • That's not an unpopular opinion, it's a goddamn fact!

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

So far I've only played the two latest remakes, and I liked RE3 more than RE2 because it didn't attempt to increase the horror factor by sacrificing fun, had a scarier pursuer (both were badass though), and had less weird design choices.

I'm typing up a longer version of my reasons, but the shorter version is:

    1. RE2's zombies were bullet sponges. They took SO many bullets before going down, which it made frustrating as more Lickers and Mr. X showed up in RPD. Just downing or stunning one and running past it would mean that I might have to deal with that zombie plus a Licker or Mr. X. RE3's zombies weren't sponges and it couldn't surprise you with additional enemies if you backtracked.
    2. My reaction to dealing with Mr. X was "Oh crap, I hear big footsteps. Not a big deal actually, he's slower than me and has a long recovery. If he hits me I'll just run past him. Just hope there's no zombies or Lickers around." I was actually taunting him in RPD. My reaction to Nemesis was "Oh crap, it's Neme-PUNCH. Damn, he hit me. PUNCH. Again?! Ugh, I'll just run from him. *gets dragged back by tentacle* WHAT THE ######### GET UP JILL HE'S COMING!! Oh crap there's zombies please don't grab me. *footsteps get louder* Wait is he running?! OH ######### ######### GET INSIDE JILL! Ok, I'm inside, he's lost me. I can make it to my objective now. *Nemesis jumps in front of me* OH YOU'VE GOT BE ######### KIDDING ME NOT THIS AGAIN!!" It gets worse when he has the rocket launcher. I dreaded hearing his footsteps because I knew what was coming next. Dodging only did so much because of how fast he is.
    3. Leon and Claire have more than enough training to do things like dodging attacks and jumping across short gaps. RE3 let Jill and Carlos have a counter (dodge and shoulder charge respectively) and still managed to be scary.

I just can't forgive Capcom for making a shitshow the RE3 Remake was, it cut out a lot of content/story that the original game had, or so I've heard

Absolutely true. But i see that fixed camera has horror in it too, and it immerses you. There's a very detailed video about cameras in video games, i think you might enjoy it if you are curious on the difference. It includes Resident evil as an example.

    https://youtu.be/bHdi5Ar8GXw

I'll look into that but what did you think of RE 7? You didn't mention that

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Very nice. I played all of those plus original resident evil 3. It's such a shame capcom made resident evil 3 remake not even half of what it used to be. Resident evil 2 remake was so good i played the campaign at least 10 times, have about 120 hours in it.

I think resident evil 1 remake was better than resident evil 2 remake, in the sense that it kept basically everything of original resident evil. For that reason I would do my list like this:

    1. RE1
    2. REmake 2
    3. RE 7
    4. REmake 3

Yeah and I got that but I heard some people prefer the new camera angles over the old camera angles, RE 2 probably wouldn't have been as scary if it kept that camera angle style
