Because the first reaction of many people on this forum and even some streamers was, that its a buff.
Some were really euphoric and refused to believe that it was a nerf (maybe also because of the streamers). So thats why.
And the only reason that happened is because BHVR labeled and spoke of this as a buff instead of being transparent like they promised and labeled it as it is, a huge ######### nerf
-
This actually raises another question of mine, why are so so many of the Licensed Killers so weak and #########, with Sadako now being nerfed into the bottom 3 killers in the game right next to Pig, Myers and Trapper (Runner up to Freddy) . Shouldnt you want your licensed killers to be slightly okay at worst instead of mostly god awful
-
It pisses me off so greatly as a dedicated Sadako player (no I did not use slugako) watching my favorite killer get murdered all the while CCers will post videos calling "close to greatness" or "HUGE BUFFS" when all the actual Sadako players know how detrimental this is to her. Which is caused by BHVRS sneaky language and them slightly slightly buffing her projection (its like slightly better at best, just play Dredge) while greatly nerfing every other aspect of her kit to near uselessness
Genuinely no point to Condemned or Tapes with this "rework", they might as well have removed it from the game, it was at least mostly frustrating on the PTB but with the new changes further nerfing her into the ground its Incredibly anger inducing

That could have been lag on Claudette's side esp given we don't have enough info with teleporting around could easily be just lag spikes.
Secondly you can not name a person's user on the forums
Thirdly D/cing without good reason can get you into trouble everyone else does not know why you d/ced and you can report "rage quitting" which is more frowned upon the survivor side
Edit: you are not doomed but try not to d/c to often it hurts other survivors gameplay
No this was teleporting across the map and ontop of other survivors, not lag spikes. The claud was most definitely hacking, and I only DCd when it was just me and claud since there was no possible way for the Trapper to catch up to her as she was teleporting and speeding herself up

One small mistake on my part, its not his "walk" animation, its his chase animation thats the same as frenzy

A buff would be nice. Especially to Undying, which was nerfed to hard.
So maybe reverse the change?
EDIT: Before i forget it. Why did you do another thread on the same topic from yesterday?
not the same thread or even topic, last thread was about the general thoughts on the build after someone's video started debates over it and this thread is about what changes the community would make to the perks.

agreed, though the thing with nemesis is:
he's a beginner killer. he's more a walking tutorial than anything else, which is... ridiculous, frankly.
But that's what he is. there to show new players the basics, and then have them move on to others.
The chapter would been better had it brought two killers: one like that, and one better fleshed out
I have to 100% agree with you, they had the whole idea of making this chapter a tutorial for new players coming in from the RE license (only to push them all away with all the bugs and unplayable platforms lol) if they would have also brought in Mr. X or birkin and made them more unique this chapter would have been amazing!

As a long term Resident evil and Dead by Daylight fan I have to say I am super dissatisfied with the recent chapter. With all the bugs, horrible map design, horrible killer design, and shady business practices I can in good conscience say I am enjoying this chapter or the Resident Evil cross over. This cross over has been one of my wettest dreams since I started playing before clown came out and now it’s become my worst nightmare. I can’t even enjoy when the bugs and lag are gone (In 9 or so months) because of how poor the new additions are. The map is objectively the worst map in DBD from a gameplay perspective as it’s red Forrest stacked on top of itself and made into a maze, and the killer is just so unfun to play as and against. Nemesis is just super boring, his power is just the same “strong 1v1” power we’ve gotten with killers like demo and pyramid head but you have to injure survivors 3 times beforehand. This would be okay if he was fun to play as but I can’t say he is. At the very least I like the survivors Jill and Leon. I think everything having to do with them is alright. I think I’d put nemesis is C tier and this overall chapter in F tier.
I will say that if they ever release a FNAF chapter I couldn’t care how bad it is or how game breaking it is, I would love it so so so much.

Boy people are fast to forget Binding of Kin
Idk I would think BHVR would have slightly more respect with such a huge license. Also this chapter is way way worse then binding of Kin anyways.

The character designs come from Capcom dude.
And I already said they obviously had some leeway on what they could do, also I highly doubt capcom didn’t see a problem seeking a 10 dollar skin when 1/3 isn’t new. That’s something nu BHVR would do.

Although I agree with everything in the post, the set as far as I'm aware werent their choice. They didnt have a choice in having them as sets, nor did they have a choice of being original instead of having to be faithful to the games.
They had some choice in their designs (at least with Jills as they added more blood and gooo to her clothes then what’s in Re3make) but chose not to change either of their faces what so ever. That’s my only real complaint, the total lack of creativity or difference in their heads even though they are sets. Either make the torso and bottom sets and leave the head to be P3 or make them slightly different then stock.

I agree with you on everything but the poor Killer design. While I can admit that he is just another half and half Killer where one of his abilities is a rehash of other abilities in the game (PH's M2) and the other ability being unique but not that amazing (cages to save a bit of time, zombies that are map reliant and rng), I enjoy playing him greatly and I tend to do pretty well with him most games. I think they did a better job releasing Pyramid Head, but they managed to make Nemesis more enjoyable to play, somehow, for me.
It's a shame because I love Silent Hill and Pyramid Head especially but I just don't enjoy the way his PotD attack works, I play PH occasionally because he's PH, not because of his power. If it was more enjoyable and less clunky to use, He'd hands down be my main.
The moment the cash shop was introduced with Clown, I know BHVR saw dollar signs, but are we surprised. Of course, if the game is getting successful they are going to capitalise on it, they'd be very dumb not to. What I don't agree with however, is some of the practices they've displayed via events, the rift, cosmetic prices and linked sets. All of these have shown that BHVR are willing to push ever so slightly forward each time and seeing how far they can go before they get backlash.
The Halloween event last year was a prime example, and it was the event that made me stop giving them money (using my remaining AC to get Nemesis on his own) until they show that they are genuinely trying to improve the game for the better, for everyone. They are allowed to make money off of the game, of course, but pushing the boundaries and creeping into a situation where you treat your customers like cash cows isn't it.
Take everything you said about killers and reverse it for my opinion lmao. I love PH and his power, it’s really fun to guess where a survivor is going when i can’t see them and that hit of dopamine when I get it right. Nemesis however removes that and only gets me a little. I play PH when I want to play DBD I will play Nemesis when I feel like playing the Nemesis skin.
-
Oh I forgot to mention, the sets with Jill and Leon are the tackiest most greedy thing I’ve seen BHVR try and pull and I hope they don’t try and get this bold again.

For some reason after getting a sync error both my Blight and Oni 4th year crown disappeared from my loud out, not only that but after doing a game as Blight, after interacting with a crown pedestal and having the yellow glow on my screen and then completing the match I still haven't gotten my 5th year crown. BHVR please can I have my 4th Year crowns back?
Any idea how I can contact support so I can get my crowns back?

Is there really a reason to play him when Huntress exists? I decided to try him out today (only got him for his perks and haven’t touched him since) and he is kinda butt.
Not really sure how they should buff him but if he is overturned, he can become OP. His power atm seems only reliable in open maps and that’s it, at that point might as well M1 the survivor. I didn’t really like him at first (Look-wise) but he ended up growing on me. I really enjoy his laugh and his weapon quite a lot. The music is great as well.
I probably won’t play him anymore any time soon but he should definitely be looked at, maybe I am not playing him well.
He's on the same level as Nemesis for me. Just a boring and weaker version of a better killer who has to work to do what the other killer does naturally.
-
I can guarantee you that if they don’t make Nemesis worth playing soon, you will never see another Nemesis player seriously for years. Which would honestly be super disappointing and depressing for a Resident Evil fan like me

So killers have no brain, no skill, and their input doesn't matter? It's this "hopeless" mentality that makes it so certain players never improve.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1835779#Comment_1835779
- I dislike the new maps for both sides for many reasons (graphics, lighting, etc). But from a gameplay perspective, they definitely are much better for killer than their predecessors.
- That makes no sense. Win Rate is an average - it has nothing to do with how much each side is being played. Your second point fails to explain why win rates have been rising significantly over time - killers could always camp and tunnel.
- Twins is a B-Tier killer. Not the best, but definitely viable. Blight on the other hand is a S-tier killer, when played correctly he can shut down survivors really quickly. Just because your average player can't play these killers at a high level doesn't mean they are weak.
- Once again, your point implies helplessness from the killer by ignoring the fact that they have the ability to apply pressure. Like any powerful perk combo, it's not going to fix someone's complete lack of skill. However, players that are good enough to utilize this combo are consistently dominating most games using it.

yes

How come every survivor seems to ‘allow’ me to be good? That’s a whole lotta unselfish players in my red rank matches.
Im glad that you are the default and not an exception. What ever will we do without our god and master of all killers Steel_Eyed the red rank god who totally wins every game and 4ks all the time.

I'm not gonna read this horrible wall of text but rather answer your title.
You have to know,DbD used to be in an absolutely horrible state for killer.
-Maps had a HUGE amount of pallets
-God windows on a lot of maps were a thing. You had to play trapper in order to somewhat counter them or else you would never catch survivors
-You could run various exhaustion perks together because they had their own cooldown
-There were addons that were able to instantly heal 1 or even 2 health states
-Brand New Parts used to instantly complete a gen
etc.
Those and many other things are now fixed/removed from the game.Killers also got a lot of different buffs aswell over the years.
So that's why playing killer is waaaay easier than it used to be
So killers are good because Survivors got nerfs. SO killers are only as good as survs are bad. cool

- Map changes have been a massive buff to killer
- Killer win rates have been steadily rising (Last stats were pre-map updates showing killer with higher win rates than survivor)
- New killers all have some strong form of anti-loop
- Ruin/Undying (Despite how weak people like to pretend this perk combo is, there's a reason why good killers can have 150+ winstreaks running it)
At the end of the day, I would say that DBD is relatively balanced. The reason why it might not seem so is because DBD rewards players that are good due to broken matchmaking. I can't think of another PvP game where you can win 100+ times in a row, no matter how good you are. Especially on killer where you don't have to worry about teammates weighing you down.
- You think the recent maps are good? because as far as Ive seen no one likes the new maps except maybe Ormond
- Killer win rates are high because there are way more killers then survs. Not to mention that a "win" is considered 2 or more kills which is easy if you camp which is what a majority of low ranks do.
- "New killers all have some strong form of anti-loop" You think the twins are good? You think Blight is anti loop? and looping is only like 35% of the problem
- "Ruin/Undying" In the early game anyone who isnt stupid will just not get off gens and let the killer chase someone. Mid game look for the bones and destroy them, and late finnish gens. Its very easy to counter and just because you saw Otz (A very high ranking killer) pull off a 150 + winstreak doesnt mean ALL killers are good.

So far im seeing that the reason Killers are strong is because survivors have gotten some nerfs to there more BS actions (God walls, Insta heals, etc) and that sometimes survivors are bad player. Ok cool i guess but why are killers strong? Because they are lucky the devs looked upon them with grace and nerfed things that were OP and that by luck they bring a very specific and good perk to a very specific situation and they win because the survs were all rank 15 and solo q.
Killers are only as good as the survivors allow them to be, change my mind.

All those things were only really in for the first year. Afterwords they all fizzled out in a relative pace and killer has stayed in about the same place as usual with only slight buffs while Survs get stronger every month or so
-
That last line wasnt me being sarcastic, I really want to know how you could possibly think killers are strong that isnt " X killer is totally OP" or "Tunneling and camping hurts my feelings"
-
@Mat_Sella said:
I enjoy it as survivor, but as killer I will just keep on bringing Franklin's until the keys are reworked. I will carry on like I always have, just gonna have less frustrations as survivor. Good enough, I suppose.
Everyones entitled to their own opinion but you have to admit thats a bit selfish. You do you though
-
"time" could mean either 2 weeks 2 months or 2 years, and with the new power vacuum created with the nerf I don't how long I can wait until I simply stop playing until its fixed. Player numbers have been dwindling for awhile now and this wont help in the slightest.
-
And yes a "4 man key group" is hyperbolic as that was the point, but still the point stands that if any one brings a key its now best to just leave or tunnel. Neither of those choices are fun for anyone, and I predict that DbD will become even more heated and unfun in the coming days as Survs abuse their power and Killers tunnel.

What I mean is that when you go to the outfits in cosmetics you can put on the full P3 with ease
