Uff... picking only one option is no option for me tbh
I would like to have pretty much everything.
- They should bring back the old nurse, and make her fun again, but also nerf her in a propper way.
- There are some survivor and also some killer perks i would change a little bit, like DS, Mettle of Man, Monstrous Shrine, Hangmans Trick etc. Some need buffs, some need nerfs.
- Spirit need some small nerfs, RIP Prayer Beads, Rip Collision
- Buffing Legion, Leatherface, Wraith, Clown and maybe even Trapper and Doctor just a little bit.
- And i also want a new chapter ofc ;)
- SWF Changes would be nice. Something like a automatic Kindred for every solo survivor for about 10 seconds. I think that might be the best Solution.
- And yes, Map changes is a good point. Haddonfield is on top of the List.

What do you think "mindgame" means? Obviously it doesn't mean there is one only one correct choice, because then there would be no mind game, right?
Besides, I literally JUST wrote that running to the window is bad. The point is that if you do not know which direction the spirit is coming, the whole vault is a bad idea. The window is a spot that spirit can see while phasing, and can go straight at it with the often correct prediction that survivor is in its close proximity. Therefore the survivor should run AWAY from the vault altogether, which kind of is what I wrote with my previous post.
Survivor should always assume that the spirit has seen you from a distance and is phasing straight at you. Your best bet is to, during the time that the spirit cant see you, move in an unexpected fashion, away from obvious vaults and pallets.
You just explained me, the Survivor should run away from the window. Great. I am the Spirit now. I know you do that. So i predict the move. Now you will say: Hey, you know that i run away from the window, so now i fault it. But me, the mighty Spirit, knows that you know i know you might vault it now, and because you know that i know what you normally do, you change that. Or you can also try to think deeper.
The endresult of this stays the same: No matter if you vault the window or you run or walk away from it, no matter on what layer you try to think, it stays a 50/50, unless you can read minds.

Ok as a spirit main, I am going to explain what is wrong with most people who play against my spirit:
They do exact same things and run exact same routes as they do vs other killers. In other words, they are extremely predictable, letting me phase to them and hit. It doesn't matter if they are invisible if I can reliably guess where they will be.
It is lunacy to sit and selfheal at a pallet vs a spirit who can just zoom next to you and strike before you have a chance to react. It is stupid to run around a pallet loop vs a spirit that can phase, speedrun against you and bump into you, getting a free hit. Majority of survivors will always run around the map along its edge. All I have to guess is the direction.
Bumping into people only matters if spirit can guess where you are, and they don't need to guess when survivors run the exact same way every time. I dont play at high ranks, but at my own rank thats how it is. The idea of adjusting your playstyle depending who you are up against seems alien to most survivors I play against.
What they SHOULD do is run diagonally opposite to what they would normally run when they hear the phasing sound. Run into the open, not behind jungle gyms. Don't run to the window/pallet, run away from it. Sure, Spirits can hear you, but you don't need to gain much distance until they can't.
Survivors are bad at mindgames because indeed, they arent using any mindgames. Spirit is "OP" simply because you cannot use the same old playstyle against her. Adapt.
Let me try to explain you this, even tho i think, it should be super obvious. Still, people completly ignore that fact:
I am aware of your advises your gave us, and so are you. So you know that i know how to run a spirit. I know that you know that i know how to run a spirit aswell and you know that aswell. How to mindgame that?
For example, should i vault the window? The spirit knows about that many surivor simply quiet slow vault back after they fastvault the window. And the Survivor knows that the Spirit knows. Whats the right joice here?
You guessed it, there is no right pick. It is fliping a coin. All the jukes you can make can be predicted by the spirit, no matter how creative you are. An no juke is really better then the other, it is only hoping, that the Spirit is either over or underestimating you .
I for example try to mix up as much as possible, to stay completly unpredictable. I even just stand at the spot where i stoped sprinting, or just keep running no matter what. And then i try very creative jukes, that are "hard to expect". Still, it wont help me really.

Why nerf and hinder fun when the team should buff other things to that "fun" level.... what's so wrong with solo survivor being as strong as SWF when the team can also buff the lower tier killers up to the performance level of spirit and Billy... imo theres nothing wrong with the team doing something like this.
This whole nerf, nerd, nerf bs needs to stop.
Depends on if the nerfs are reasonable or not. There were some good changes in the recent past like removing insta heals or nerfing the Nurse.
The next should be Spirit, maps like Haddonfield, keys, Iri Head and red moris.
It is true that there is a lot of complaining here, but if a Killer, an item or even some mechanics are overpowered, then why not nerfing it? Everybody is to scared that his favourite Killer or his op perk might get put down to a ballanced level, so they are against these needed nerfs... and that for the sake of an unballanced game....
On the other side, the same applies to buffs ofc. Killers like Clown, Wraith, Leatherface or Legion definitly need some small buffs so they become viable. Also many perks on both sides.

I don't have clown but was thinking about getting him soon since i got the shards (Its between him, Plague and spirit hit i kind of want Adam and Jane so i was thinking on waiting for them)
But everyone seems to agree hes trash which is weird because i never really see people talk about him when talking about the worst killers, Legion and Leatherface dominate that conversation. But i also still see people play Legion and leatherface....im not sure I've ever played verses a clown. Or plague either now that i think about it
The better the Survivor, the weaker the clown becomes. When i started the game, i always thought he is really strong.
I think he is still a cool killer, and his perks are amazing. While Spirit is the better pick for tierwhise, Clown has the best perks.

Brainless survivors are bad at coin tosses. Who would've thunk.
Very absurd to assume, you have any control of mind gaming vs a good spirit. I mean.. how? There is really only one way to actually "know what to do" and that is when you know the guy who plays her. And this guy has to be very uncreative aswell...
Please stop pretending you can "outsmart" her, it is purly random. I dont see much difference between playing on R1 or on R10 when i play Spirit.
Dont get me wrong, the spirit is still not in the worst shape, but there has to be some changes, especially prayer beads and collision.

Genrush is real, yes it's your only objective but you can do it in 4 minutes even if the killer is good. That isn't fair.
And the only broken killer is Spirit. Nobody needs nerfs after that, just buffs.
Maybe i get you wrong here but you really want to have a broken killer to fix something else that is also broken (in that case generator speed)?
If thats the case, i can not disagree more.

It's not that those killers are strong it's the rest of the roster being too weak
Some are, like Legion, Clown or Leatherface. But again, this game has a bigger ballance problem then that.
On this forum, Killer want the game ballanced for SWF. If they buff every killer that they can compete with SWF, Soloplayers would get destroyed all the time.
Thats definitly not the correct approach.

Yes. You are wrong.
The devs have said before that they are not nerfing or getting rid of swf.
They have said that they would like to bring solo players up to swf bit haven't really done anything to acheive that.
Also, they just need to buff killers and rework most of the maps. If they did this then they could leave swf and it would still be a win to killers.
Interesting, never heard of that. Link us a source please.
But if they said that, they should definitly rethink their plan, or they will never achieve a ballanced game.
Anyway, does not matter if they said it or not, i am still right here. SWF is 2 powerful and so is Spirit. You really wanna discuss that?
-
Way to many great options here! <3
For me it is close between Camp Crystal Lake, Black Hills Forest and Sawyer Estate, since i prefere outdoor maps, and those could be really really cool.
But also Hell or the Overlook Hotel could be amazing too.
One option i miss here is "The Barrens" from IT. The only reason why i would kinda accept the IT Chapter.

I'm saying that in reply for you saying swf has to get somehow Nerfed a bit
You made a clear statement, as it is a fact they wont nerf SWF.
Yes they have to, since 3/4 man groups are to powerful. There are definitly ways to nerf SWF.
The game has some ballance issues, and this is one part of it. Same with Killers like Nurse (still) and Spirt, they are simply to strong.
Am i wrong here or what?

they aren't gonna nerf the ability to play with friends in a video game accept that
They are not? Never heard of that tbh. Do you have a source of that information? If so, please show us.
-
SWF has to somehow get nerfed a bit. And so is Spirit. Same with keys, red moris, op addons like Prayer beads etc...
Why cant players accept, that ballancing is important?
-
I miss the "This perk is not meta, but i run it all the time" option.

@Chewy102 said:
There is a number of posts about how Spine Chill now counters all Killers in the game and is due to be meta. It is a rather decent perk and is able to do a lot for Survivors, but it is one that fell OUT of meta once before. Spine Chill once was a pure meta perk, so why did it stop being meta?
Killers can counter Spine Chill. Premonition has no counter, but Spin Chill does!
Back at launch Wraith was THE Killer to play. He was the communities choice of being the strongest Killer in the game. Somehow Wraith was a higher tier than Billy. Hell, a lot of people thought Billy was the worst Killer of the original 3 back at launch. He was too hard to use they said. Anyway, back on topic.
Almost EVERYONE had problems seeing Wraith coming or in general didn't know when they should run or not so they started running Spine Chill. And that made it rather hard to get close to ANYONE with any Killer back then. They never had to see you coming, once that cat lit up solid they started to run and once a Survivor has a gap on the Killer. It wasn't worth chasing them as they ran towards the nearest infinite. Today a good starting distance is still not going to make the chase worth it most times. So something like Spine Chill will always be good. Unless the Killer knows how to counter it.
How does a Killer counter Spine Chill? Look to the side.
Spine Chill triggers when the Survivor is within a certain area of the Killers center field of view. If the Survivor is outside of that area it doesn't trigger. To counter Spine Chill it is as simple as to walk diagonally towards gens. Keeping the gen in the far 25% left/right of your screen prevents Spine Chill from triggering and so it allows you to get close before they get its warning.
Granted you will still need to trigger Spine Chill in order to stalk someone with Shape or Ghost as you need to put the Survivor closer to your center screen. But by preventing Spine Chill from triggering for as long as possible you will give yourself more time to stalk someone. Or at the least maybe land an early hit with odds of a possible grab.
TLDR-
A Killer can prevent Spine Chill from triggering by keeping the Survivor in the far 25% of their screen. So walking diagonally towards gens tends to never allow Spine Chill to trigger allowing the Killer to get much closer without its warning.
The counter vs Spin Chill is to play half blind? Well, i guess that perk does a pretty good job then ;-)
@Mochan said:
Spinechill doesn't need to be countered. It's a great perk but it's not all powerful.
Just because Myers is no longer immune to spine chill all of a time it's gonna become Meta?? LOL people are welcome to their delusions.
The best part of SC is, that it is NOT Meta, and i hope it will never ever become again. As long as Killers are not expecting it, it is the best Perk at the moment. If it would become meta, SC would loose some of its power for sure.
We should all stop discussing about this Perk, lets hope Devs and Killers forget about it so it stays the way it does. :)
-
Cant complain. On both sides a very good experience. No campers and not 2 much tunneling. As a Killer i had decent survivors, none of them were toxic.
-
No thanks, unless people come up with actually usefull emotes that also fit with the tone of the game.

Good to hear, Spine Chill was way to weak before, now it is almost a decent perk. Still need some buffs tho like more +% repairspeed.

On low ranks it is decent, but on high ranks its almost useless. Overcharge definitly need some rework.
-
First, i give them a decent and fun match as usual. Once it looks grim for the Survivors i slow down and let them know that we are farming the rest of the game.
In my book this is by far the best solution. Everyone has a good time, everyone has a decent gaming experience, everyone gets a good amount of bloodpoints and nobody is loosing rank or whatever. And if anyone dont wanna "waste his time"... he can go to a hook and i do the job.
Those "I dont wanna waste my time and the time of the survivors" is nonsens. Playing a videogame itself is already wasting time... and i never had anybody complaining about my method.
-
Changes pretty much every day. I go for the Trapper, simply because he i is always fun to play as.
-
Empathy. I dont know why, but i loved this perk when i started the game. I always thought its a better Version of Bond.
BBQ was the first Killer Perk i really liked... nothing changed on that so far.

it seems a lot of people think nurse is hard to go against. i feel she is one of the most easiest and most of my exit wins is with her. i find her real hard to play as. is she being nerfed or buffed?
Nurse is currently the best Killer in the game. The reason you dont have a problem against her is simple: You play vs bad Nurses.
Here is an example how a game looks like if the nurse is actually good:

I see the huntress on A Tier, but apart from this, your list is pretty good.
-
Spine Chill is totally fair and ballanced, its actually a mid tier perk at best. Dont use it, and DEVS, dont investigate this perk. Trust me, its not OP or anything! Not OP! Dont! Go away, take care of ... ahm... DS... yea DS is broken, but not Spine Chill.
-
I am very suprised by the result of this poll.
The original chase music is in my opinion fantastic, and i dont hear any improvement with these new themes.
-
We are speaking here about 2 different internal departments, so this question is irrelevant.
While i think the core game has top priority, new content is also very important. Shuting down one for the other is no option.
-
The Hellraiser
The Slender
The Pyramid head
-
Are we still talking about the old nurse? If so, she is ALWAYS winning.
-
That was an easy one.
-
Spinchill. It is the Megablink Nurse of Survivor Perks. Only difference: Its completly broken and the killer wont even notice.
-
Where is the "Yes i use them from time to time just for fun" Option?
-
@sluc16 said:
Seriously how is it that so many survivors use this perk? Is not useful at all and it affects the game more than it helps.
It takes forever for survivors to fully heal and there they stay healing for ages not doing gens or even when a teammate is hooked close to them.
I really don't think this is a good perk.
Hello
Self-Care is definitly not a top tier perk, but decent nevertheless.
Many people dont like to stay injured for a long time period and how can you blame them for that. Also not everybody is a fan of Adrenaline (in my opinion a better perk then Seflcare tho)
Sure, you can bring a medkit, which does a better job, but then you cant have any other item.
Also; you dont really gain anything being healed by a teammate, since it takes two persons to do the job at 100% while Selfcare does it solo with a speed of 50%.
Last but not least, you get points.

I think that any experienced player understands that the leatherface is weak, like a killer and has boring gameplay. Besides one tactic ... basement and using Insidious, it was always fun.
But what to do now? Every second survivor has a decisive strike and this tactic is not the same as before + everything complicates "Head On", but it is not so common. Of course, I could take pink mori, but they are not endless. Why do you need this killer now? You used to get a unique game experience, but now it's worthless.
How to solve this? It is necessary to make sure that the decisive strike does not act on the leatherface.
The only "boring" (i love how everybody is using this word now instead of "challanging") Leatherface playstyle is Basement camping. Step up your game, chill a little bit and enjoy instead of try.
Sincerly
A red rank Leatherface

I am tired of Spirit and Nurse, almost every game you can easily win as them even without Ruin and especially without camping and tunneling (probably it will be better if Spirit will also be nerfed).
Now I main Legion (I love him though his is underwhelming) and Pig, sometimes I run Freddeh, Demo and Wraith, I find gameplay as these killers pretty pretty fun.
So, what killers do you play?
All but Huntress.
Currently i am also avoiding Spirit and Nurse since i want to win, not to stomp.

You get shot around corners all the time in CS:GO. In DBD the killer and survivor have direct interactions that showcase the delay more than an indirect bullet would.
You dont, maybe due to very bad connection or any other stuff that is related with you, but in no way it is close to be as bad as DBD. Have you played CS GO?
-
@Mr_K said:
It's not just your connection but the killer's connection as well. You can have 30ms ping but the killer has 200ms ping. Servers don't solve these issue. The speed of light can only go so fast.
Well that is true, but no matter where the problem lies, it should not be the case. Imagine CS GO with that delayed hitbox. Better buy a negev and run&gun the whole game.
-
I get these ultra rares very frequently. In my opinion, an ultra rare should pop up on the bloodweb like every 5-10 webs.

Tie between toolbox and Medkit. I also like the map and a key, but mainly for aura reading and not for escaping.
