Why is it considered that killer shouldnt tunnel and camp?

Everyone knows that survs use everything at their disposal - looping, best builds, gen rush, best items. But if a killer uses an op addon or starts tunneling and camping everyone goes mad. Like isnt it biased?

Strange question, but here is the answer:

Because it is extremly boring. 1 guy rotting on the hook, the others rotting on the gens. Guy dies on hook, gens are done and game is over. Pretty much the same with tunneling.

Also about the addons: It is bullshit for both sides, not just for Killers or Survivors. A red mori or instaheals make the round very unballanced and unfun for at least one side.

Quick question. When was the last time the game scared you?

Quick answer. It is not about being scary, its about the Atmosphere. Why wanna shift away from a Horror game?

  • It does not fit with the tone of the game at all.

Also, this is maybe "fun" for 5 minutes, it gets old really quick. And what we have then? A game that is closer to Hello Kity then a Horror game.

Dont ask for stuff you might regret on the long run.

The April fools idea is good tho, as long as it is gone right after that day.

  • No thanks, this is not Fortnite.

Look, Survivors can be Powerful in red ranks, Semi Powerful in purple and Green ranks, and less powerful in grey ranks/yellow ranks.

Same goes for the killers, but Killers do and always will have the upper hand in the match.

And what i mean by saying that is, Yes Survivors are powerful but killers are more powerful until the player playing that certain killer accidentally messed something up. (That could mean they stayed in a chase for too long etc.)

So to me killers will always be more powerful even if it's by a little tiny bit.

    That's my thoughts.

I am very positiv it is actually the way around. The only reason a survivor team might loose is that they do mistakes, not the killer. A Killer who is not nurse or Spirit can play perfect, if the survivor team plays perfect aswell, the Killer has 0 chance.

  • Yes i do. Since i already have all the perks, i use it for bloodpoints.

  • Very close one. After thinking back and forth i went for blood trail.

  • Not just streamer do that. If a new chapter comes out, i want to have maximum Bloodpoints to level the new killer / Survivor asap.

This is 1.000.000 + 3x60.000 due to daily rituals.

  • It would not ruin the game per se, but i am more then satisfied with the current music.

  • Sorry but, you should not be able to. BHVR simply has to earn money to keep this game moving.

  • Surge might be good against very anxious or unexperienced survivors who leave the generator for good after the killer downed someone near around it. But in almost every other case, its Pop

Pretty hard choice, I love Halloween and Stranger Things and I like all the others except Scream because I haven't seen one single installment of it. But I have to give it to Evil Dead because it is the only one from here that kept its consistency throughout the years and because it has Ash.

    My top 3 would be:

    1. Evil Dead

    2. Stranger Things

    3. Halloween

Honourable mention: A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I should be checking out Scream sooner or later.

You should definitly watch Scream then, the first movie was really good. Dont know if it still works the way it did in the past, since it got parodied a lot meanwhile. However it is still a great Slasher movie .

I don't know if is a bug or something but always the killer appears next to me, and it's a #########. Devs should really fix the spawn distance between killers and survivors, i mean basically all recently patches are killer sided (healing speed nerf, exhaustion nerf, some windows in some maps are gone forever, the pallet distance, the Leader's gen repair speed nerf). They should really do sometime for us. It's boring to be the first that the killer sees

What is boing about being the first the killer sees? Thats the best that can actually happen to you in DBD. I envy your situation, honestly.

  • @Acesthetiic said:

I honestly love all of them.

    Cant agree more :)

  • For both sides it is really bad.

Imagine getting a 4K as Killer within 3 minutes and you blackpip.

Imagine looping the Killer for 10 minutes and then die at the end by getting camped? Depip incoming.

But on the other side, who really cares about the rank?

  • Dedicated servers and anything that is related with delay obviously. Getting hit through a window when being miles away already is getting slowly but surly on my nerves.

  • Noed threads are never getting old :P

While noed is in my opinion a noob perk, i think it is fair. The Killer is running the whole game only 3 active perks, it can be cleansed by doing bones, and against a potent team, it does not really help you get more then maybe one kill.

  • All he needs is a bit of an early game boost, like starting with another trap or maybe even two or some extra setting speed.

  • Yes i always do, unless they are VERY bm.

  • @Lambda said:

Read title. I want to know what are some survivor sided maps and why and ,if possible, any tips to deal with those maps when playing as killer.

    Hello

    • Haddonfield has pretty much the most broken infinite in the game: The Myers house. If a survivor is running ballanced landing and the Window next to the basement is open, it is almost impossible to catch a survivor unless he does a mistake. As a Killer, avoid this house if you can.
    • Red Forest is also very survivor sided. It is a super large map, the main building has strong windows and on the outscirt there are still many good loops aswell. Only Billy or Nurse due to their high mobility wont struggle here tbh
    • Yamaoka is such a great map for hiding and breaking LOS. It is not totally Survivor sided like Haddonfield, but it is still a tough map for many killers. Otherwise, i love playing trapper on this map, because of the tall grass.
    • If the Survivor knows what to do, Grim Pantry has also a pretty broken infinite at the Pantry. Avoid this by all cost, you will loose way to much time on that building.
  • @Naked_Gramma said:

My #1 pick would be Nemesis. Could play as him all day chasing Jill Valentine....

If Resident Evil then please Leon :)

  • For me it was extremly close between Halloween, Scream, Stranger Things and TCM...

One the other hand Nightmare and Evil dead are also awesome.

I picked Stranger things, since season one and two blew me away, and that happens not that often, when you are my age ;-)

  • She used to be op, but what they did, is really a bit 2 much. I am not saying that she is now weak, but she plays clumsy as hell.

A slight change would have been enough.. but not this.

Best way to nerf her in my opinon:

    • Get rid of Megablink Addons
    • Lunge fix
    • Reduce blink range by 1-2 Meter

That should already balance her. And she would be still fun to play.

  • Dead by daylight death rate:

    Open field: 0,1%

    Locker: 0,2%

    Through pallet or window: 99,7%

  • I am kinda fine with how it is, but i wish luck would effect

    • Chests (better chance you get a better item)
    • Lockers (small chance that if you rush a locker, that it does no noise
    • Gens (very small chance that if you fail a skillcheck it wont blow up)

  • From my part, it has to be Spine Chill, but i also absolutly love Resilience (i run this perk currently) We'll make it and Kindred. Its a bit sad that there is no option for allowing multible picks.

  • Leprechaun OK

    Chucky OK

    Darth Vader OK

    The Spagetti Monster OK

But please... PLEASE no Pennywise. I beg you!

  • Why would i tunnel or camp?

Less fun for everyone and less points aswell. And winning a game without tunneling gives you a better feeling aswell. If i win because i tunneled someone (maybe even after proxicamping), that means nothing for me. But if i win because i played fair, i know i won because of skill.

  • Someone here had a good suggestion: Moris only work after every Survivor was hooked one time.

  • First i wanted to Prestige, because of better chances in the bloodweb. Then i read, it almost had no effect soo.. no prestige for me.

  • Yep, i like the challange. At this point i am avoiding the holy trinity Billy, Nurse and Spirit. People saying that those 3 Killers are the only one to be successful with in red ranks.

    They are wrong.

  • Since i do well, i am getting chased most of the time. Extremly aggressive playstyle, my favourite gen to do is the one, where the killer is around all the time.

  • I hated the Nurse! Every time i had to play against her, i was already sick and tired from the start on. As playing Killer, i completly avoided her after a while. She was always an easy win, not much effort really, and because i like challanges, nurse was clearly not in that category. And as Survivor.... if the nurse player was not totally dogshit, you are dead no matter what.

And i still must say, with all the hate i feel for the Nurse: These changes are really bad. The basekit changes make her very unfun to play, it feels super clumsy.

If it was about me, i would have just took some simple nerfs:

    • Megablink Addons RIP
    • Reduce blink range by 1,5 Meters (scaling with charge and movement ofc)
    • Fix her overpowered lunge

.... AND SHE WOULD BE FINE

    @xEa

Agree but there is a small difference, when you had the infinit mending bug, all survivors are effected by that and your game was unplayable and you could ALWAYS do a 4k as Legion with that.

Some "not even all" traps CAN be invisible at some specific spots where you might get a free kill if you are lucky.

I know exactly what you mean, you shouldnt abuse something like that, but this trapper bug isnt such a big deal to get banned for, I did a invisible trap accidently too for my daily last week, should I get banned for that now? xD

That is simply a question about their tolerance. If BHVR thinks, this bug is fine, and that other one is not then it is. But the truth is, we dont know.

Answers like "its fine, go for it", are not helping, in fact they might actually harm him. Also those who are saying, these bugs are knows for a long time.. that does not mean automatically that it is fine to abuse them.

The only thing we know for sure is, that some bugs are/were bannable, so lets stick with this, as long as we dont have any other infos from BHVR. Or do we have something official?

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @xEa

It is not bannable because it is not your fault that they are invisible and what do you want to do against that? Trapper is anyway not that great and this bugg is not gamebreaking such as Legions filfthy blade bug or infinit mending. You cant denie players to play how they want to play, in that case, you cant FORBID trappers to put traps at some specific points.

Same issue with myers for an example, there is a bug where the T3 sound and status effect for myers triggers for ALL survivors but he isnt even in T3, he just 99% the stalk, you could say hey it is really powerfull to SIKE the survivors with your T3, and it is a normal bug and noone got punished for that, that bug still exists btw.

I know what you mean, and in the past also thought that way ("its the games fault") but that is not how things are going.

Remember the Legion bug with the infinite mending? They even posted, that we should report anybody who is abusing it.

I can not say for a fact, but from that case alone, it looks like you can get banned for abusing bugs. While i doubt it, that they will do anything like that after just one violation, i would not test my chances ;-)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/757097#Comment_757097

I mean it's the game's fault, if it lets you place a trap there, isn't it??

Idk if this is the case here with THIS game, but there are games where you even sign in the tos that you are not allowed to abuse bugs. I think this might be possible the case in DBD.

Remember the Legion bug with the infinite mending? They even posted, that we should report anybody who is abusing it.

    Survivor rule book page 6:

You must place Trappers traps on a open spot where survivors can see and avoid them easily.

    @Warlock_2020 said:

No, that is rediculous. I main Trapper and the whole idea is to put the traps where they don't expect and then herd them towards them.

Keep doing it. Expand your trapping skill by paying attention to how survivors move in and out of chases. Don't try to trap the whole field. Pick an area with 4 to 5 gens and turn it into a trapped nightmare.

Guys, i dont think you understand what he actually means.

He is talking about traps with bugy visibility, so surivor can not see them at all due to glitch/bug.

If this is bannable or not.. i can not tell, but in many games, abusing bugs is in fact a bannable reason.

Maybe a Dev or Mod knows more about this?

  • @skillchecks said:

who get hit from miles away after vaulting a window with dedicated servers?

I mean, i remember playing on dedicated servers before, but today the hits are nuts!

Because of this reason, i switched fully to killer for now.

The Bullshit hits in this game are simply not acceptable anymore.

Apparently i am an Elephant in this game, at least my hitbox is.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

Do you think its a good exhaustion perk at all? If it is good is it better than any other exhaustion perk (Discluding head on, adrenaline, and dead hard).

    Lets see:

    Positiv:

    • You can use it to gain distance to avoid first hit and get to the first loop.

    Negativ:

    • You are extremly handicaped since you have to walk instead of sprint a lot of the time.
    • It does not help you during chase.
    • Killer knows right from the beginning what perk you are running.
    • If you need Sprintburst to get to the first loop, you are doing something wrong. Therefore you teaching yourself a bad habit.

  • Hag is in my book the 5th best Killer in DBD. I leave it up to you if this is good or bad.

  • Short answer: YES

It is the best in my opinion. A good alternative is Play with your food and Safe the best for last.

  • Hello

    Builds i like:

    • BBQ, Ruin/Pop, Spirit Fury, Enduring
    • Bamboozle, Pop, Safe the best for last, Brutal Strenght

The best addon combo for clown is:

    • Flask of Bleach + Ether 15%

    Playing as the clown:

I said survivors have instas and keys.

I also said Ebonys are great for SWF plums.

    Both these statements are true.

To verify, I believe the ebony mori can be exploited like many aspects of DBD.

But I also believe that it is balanced having ebony mori included. Taking in to account the 1vs4 element of the game and the combined perks/items/add-ons/offerings/tactics available to survivors, ebonys are not always overpowering against a team of hardened survivors. And then you have the SWF communication issue.

I chose balanced. As did 45% who took the poll. That's the majority.

A few other users posted similar opinions as me. But that's all they are. Opinions.

Again, i quoted the wrong person.

  • Okay, lets be real here. I dont like that they change the nurse in the way they appaerently plan to do, but some sort of nerf was inevitable.

But.. I also dont get most of the complains from killer mains. It is impossible to get Kills in red rank? Maybe you play in the wrong region or at the wrong time i dont know. :o

When i play Killer (50/50 Survivor Killer ratio) the only ones i dont play are Nurse and Spirit and in most games i have 2-4 Kills. I maybe loose 1 game out of 5 (probably it is more 1 out of 10), even with trash like Bubba or Wraith. And i am pretty sure there are way better and especially more experienced players out there.

I think, some expect to win every single game, because the Killer is the so called "power role", but the game is not ballanced around that.

I really dont wanna offend anybody, but if you cant get kills with anything but Nurse, Billy or Spirit, you might not be good enough.

  • Guys, lets see how it goes, maybe it is not as bad as it sounds.

I was always in the "Nurse is op" fraction, but i really hope, they dont treat her like Legion.

When you offer up an intelligent change for the perk I'll be sure to do just that.

No time for that, but i am sure, they mentioned it right before the rework.
