On PC,
the Queue times for survivors are pretty good. Solo i wait less then a minute, playing as 2-3 man, waiting time are slightly longer. 4 Man we get a lobby within 20-30 seconds most of the time.
As a Killer the queue times are really bad right now. Sometimes i wait 5-10 Minutes for a game, which kinda sucks.
Apparently there are too many Killers and in relation too less Survivors.

I think the X2 bloodpoint should be the normal ammount of bp that you get. The new bp buff made so its easier to get every perk on every charecter which is only usefull for killers. I have been playing this game for about a year and I got burnt out for about 3 months because of the grind. I only have the teachable perks for the survivors (bisides steve) and just started for killer.
I am wonderwing why there are always some people who dont want to put effort into things. Yea it is a game, and yes it involves grinding, but i tell you something: Once you have what you desire, it becomes standard and extremly boring within a very short ammount of time. The route it he goal! Enjoy the grind, dont see it as an obstacle. You will have what you want soon enough, even with low effort.
I am playing this game on my main for now 900 hours. Started this year.
I got:
- Every single Teachable perk
- 2 Survivors who have every single perk on 3
- Every Killer Perk
- Every Killer has 3-5 Pages full of perks. Got on 14 out of 17 Killers the in my opinon best available build
- Items Addons & Offerings for thousends of games
If i calculate right, i have every Killer maxed out in less then 5 months, even tho it is completly unneccessary. Playing both killer and Survivor.
-.-
So what you want is that you grind even faster, am i right?
We already got this change, that we get 4 Perks per Bloodweb, and you can even go for 2 Perks at every single Web. We get stuff EXTREMLY quickly at this point!!!
As someone mentioned before, use BBQ and We gonna live forever, and you have your stuff in no time. And again, Enjoy the Grind!
I had more fun grinding for my stuff then actually "owning" it.

We have more than 1-2 events per year, 4head.
Trolling?! and if it is 10 times a year it is still nothing, 4head

Playing survivor is impossible because nearly every killer wants to farm.
And playing killer is impossible aswell because a lot of players switched to killer so they can farm.
I hate double bp because of this Community. Just play normally ffs, you aren't going to get x100 more BP by farming. It's boring af, it's not a point simulator.
Oh noo, like 1-2 times a year, people are farming bloodpoints. How dare they...

If you’re a good looper then you can waste a lot of the killers time, you’ll know where every trap and it completely ruins any mind games Freddy can do.
I mean it is more or less a "i want your attention" perk, sure, if this is your goal, nothing tops OoO, but overall, you get more out of spine chill. Also, on redranks you mainly run into nurses and spirits. OoO is more hindering then helping vs those killers in my opinion.

I’ve used both a lot and OoO is better by a long shot.
Opinions i guess. Why do you think it is better?
-
Tried it, really good perk, but still not even a close contender. OoO also gives the Killer information, and Spine Chill wont. In a 4 players Comp, it is definitly an option tho.
-
Spine Chill.
Why? Because its by far the best Perk in the game and nobody runs it. This perk is like a Tressure that nobody opens. It is amazing vs Stealth killers, great vs Nurse, Spirit and Huntress, it is great while looping the killer in jungle gyms (if you are really good with it) and on top of it, you get more skillchecks and faster repairspeed. How can any perk top that?
Would take it over DH, Borrowed time, Adrenaline, DS... even combined :P
-
Thanks for all your amazing input. I read everything and i will try out all i can, as long as i get the perks, which should happen sooner or later.

The Trapper.
Reason: The Trapper
-
Thanks a lot for the Input so far <3
As i can see from your suggestions, there seems to be no outstandingly good addon, so i will go for a mix of the whole lot.
For my first Build i will go for
- Thanatophobia
- BBQ
- Ruin / Pop
- Dying Light
Any other suggestions?
-
Does not matter at all.
Usually those who run really freaky skins like pizzaboy dwight tend to be those who want to get chased and some of them might be a bit toxic from now and then.
-
I own this game since February this year and i played 1300 hours so far.
This should answer your question ;-)

What are some killers you never play against anymore, but wish to?
I hardly ever see Legions or Clowns anymore. Clown is definitely my favorite killer to play against!
Unlucky you, i play clown frequently, as pretty much any other killer.
But you are right, clown is rare.
I also dont run to often into hag (lucky me) or doctor. At least i feel this way, could be wrong tho.
-
Keep them but change insta to heal over time.
By the way, remove moris or make them only available after 2nd hook.

Why does it feel like they have nerfed survivors to the ground?
Yea they nerfed survivor.
For a very good reason.

It would have been a good idea to announce it directly ingame. Not many Beginners will check BHVR on Twitter.

I think preventing people from deranking below rank 15 won't fix anything. Even before the Stranger Things patch was released, I as a rank 20 killer was barely ever matched with any survivor below rank 15. I guess it would be a choice between getting nobody in your lobby or playing against survivors that are higher rank than you.
All things considered, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised though. In the last couple days I haven't had matches with toxic survivors. Either the toxic players are taking a break until the matchmaking is fixed or the people do consider they might be playing against a beginner. Or I've just been extremely lucky. It's funny how the bug with the matchmaking has made the atmosphere more bearable for a beginner killer than before. I'm not usually an optimist but I think the community effort is paying off.
It is not fixing the problem, but it is at least a start. As said, there should be a way that new players can verse other new players exclusivly. That you can not up or de-rank from 20-16ish if you have less then 50 games / 50 hours played.
-
A lot is overpowered, but only little of it is totally gamebreaking. I definie gamebraking by "there is no chance, the opponent can win, unless he is using also something gamebraking or is very luck (for example Nurse on Lerys)"
Here is my list (in order from most broken to least broken)
- Nurse with range addons
- 4-Man SWF with Instaheals / Comodius Toolboxes / BNPs
- Iri Head Huntress
Thats about it.
-
It really depends on who you are facing. Against Rank 20-10 this could actually work, but vs anything better, you should not take Bloodpoints and Ranking to serious, since you wont get a lot, if you camp.
-
Most people say, Self-Care is more off a bad habit then a good perk, and they not wrong. A Med-Kit does a way better job, and so i a teammate. Also Adrenaline trumps Selfcare. Same with Inner Strength.
So the obvious answer for me is: Inner Strength tops Selfcare

@whammigobambam said:
Do away with the current 1-20 rank and make it 1-10 also match lock 11-20 for solo Ppl who have never progressed to 10. There are some really skillful killers out there teaching these survivors how to be optimal and there are killers out there that don't try hard. It would be nice to play with like minded individuals.
As for playing in a swf group and you just started playing the game, if there's a rank 1-10 player in the group enjoy playing in the rank 1-10 lobbies.
I would rather go with some default games you have to play before you even rank. 20-30 games should be a good number.
After that, Rank 20-16 is exclusive for new players. No possible way to derank, after you have reached 15+

He should get all his traps. I’ve said this for a long time.
Oh god no! :D He needs a buff, but not that rediculous.
+1 Trap to start with and +1 Trap he can carry as baseline, and he should be fine.
-
Honestly, in very rare situations. Survivors are aware of this perk and will simply hide it out. You can consider yourself lucky if you get 1-2 hooks but most of the time, you wont gain anything.
Playing DBD for 1000 hours now, im pretty sure i never got downed by this Hex even a single time. And i am the complete oposite of a sneaky survivor.
-
@IamFran said:
Why Steve Harrington is the male survivor in DBD and not Jonathan Bryers?
I'm currently watching Stranger Things, I'm in Season 1 Ep. 7/8 and, at the moment Steve haven't faced the Demogorgon or seen it, and as long as I know the Demogorgon die in Season 1, so for me the presence of Steve in DBD have no sense and Jonathan make more sense for me. Jonathan is the brother of the kidnapped boy, know the existence of the Demogorgon and tried to face it.
Why are you asking this question?
No, seriously. Dont you think there could be a reason, why they went with Steve? You know, a reason (or many reasons in that case) you have not discovered so far?
Watch all 3 Seasons, and come back later ;)
SPOILER: ITS AWESOME! :P

I'm just saying that this is 1% cuz these ranks are locked and you can only get there by not playing for months. Uninstalling because of 1% smurfs is overreacting.
We are talking more about 99% then 1%. No, i am not exaggerating. Our example played 3 days, no Killer or Survivor he could check had less then 300 hours, some had over 2000. I am his wittness, was watching him quiet a while.

The matchmaking bug comes back every now and then, it has been fixed a lot but it keeps coming back.
would be whise to anounce it to new players, that this is not the normal status of the game, so there is at least a chance they take this game serious.

The bug needs fixed but I don’t think a lot will leave, it is kinda expected to get stomped when starting to play an online game, at least for me.
I like your optimism, and i hope you are right, but i doubt. If it stays that way, pretty much everyone will be gone besides some tryhards or some masochits.
-
@GrootDude said:

Whenever I started, rank reset put everyone back at rank 20. I started during a rank reset and of course I didn’t win very much at all but I stayed, because I knew that I’d have to get crushed to get better.
Matchmaking bug needs fixed of course, but people who are willing to improve will stay.
It is always frustration vs dedication. Not many are dedicated enough for getting stomped so often (and especially so brutal), that they stay. At least not how it is right now. DBD needs new players, this matchmaking does not promote that by any means.

@justarandy said:
Your friend who uninstalled is just a poor casual. He is absolutly new to the game and is already expecting to win? #########. Some other games dont even have a ranked matchmaking and it's completely mixed. Does he uninstall aswell? It's normal to lose at the beginning. I'm not playing Apex for the first hours and cry about losing all the time. My first 10 hours in apex were absolutly catastrophic, I got demolished by everyone and everything. But I "git gud" and learned the game. And now I can win (be champion) at least once a day.
Maybe he should quit playing online games. Those "smurf" at rank 17-20 are very rare, probably not even 1% of them have 1k+ hours. Crying about this little amount is just silly.
Omg. No he is not expecting that, but whats the point in playing against Top tier Killers / Survivors when you are New to the game? This game has a ranked system, and a working ranked system is one of the reason why he wanted to play the game. He and many other people are not touching games without a ranking system. Ever thought about that?
Maybe he is a casual, and guess what...? This game is FULL of casuals as your Apex, and it grows only because of the casuals.
People like him are way more important then you and i, because we are maybe 10%, and they are 90%.
EDIT: Also your whole argument is completly bs, or do you really think rank 20-17 should NOT be for new players?
-
@NoShinyPony said:
Agreed. I'm really worried that not a lot of new players who came with the Stranger Things DLC are going to stick with the game.
Exactly. The Devs have such a great opportunity with that DLC, but i doubt many will stay, after a few games getting destroyed.
Just right now i had a game as survivor, rank 10. Killer was rank 20, probably just bought the game.. did not even get a single hit... gave him the kill, but i doubt this will make him feel any better.
-
The only reason to use a mori is the Daily Ritual. Of course i only use it after 2nd hook so technically it is not gamebreaking or anything. In my opinion Moris should be changed or even removed. Whats the point of getting less bloodpoints, less playtime and less fun?
-
I play as rank 4 against Rank 20-18 all the time!! Has been 6 games in a row now.
Fix this, or there wont be anything left of the new playerbase after this weekend.
-
I dont camp or go twice after the same person. No Mori. Not dodging any survivors.
-
Spine Chill. Compared to it, every other Perk is just for cosmetic
BBQ. Bloodpoints!

I understand what you’re saying. Again, it Ian not my fault that they’re noobs. If anything the devs are to blame for releasing the rank reset side-by-side of the DLC release 🤷♂️
So what are you expecting? Whats the point of the posting? Playing on Rank 15, you will meet new players. You wanna show us with your 700+ playerlevel what it was like?
And of course you get hate massages from beginners when they get stomped, remember back.
-
Im so proud of you, stomping these new players. Well done.
No offense, but I wanna meet people like the OP in rl just to see what they are like. I am really curious.
-
@Groxiverde said:
You guys have to remember he is talking about console, not PC. Huntress is horrible on console and Myers seems OP because not so many people have headphones compared to PC and Myers is sneaky as #########. The meta is different on PS4/XOne.
Huntress or Nurse are not bad on console, many people are simply bad with them. A Tierlist should never depend on inability and certainly not due to missing hardware. It is like saying, Nurse is trash on rank 20, and Wraith is god tier because inexperienced people dont pay attention to the shimmer.
-
None of them. Pennywise does not fit and Jack Torrence even less.
-
I completly disagree with your Tier list.
- Myers is no where near as good as Spirit. He should be A or B Tier.
- Huntress on D Tier? Ahm... woot? Her Chase potential is one of the best in the game. A good huntress is somtimes even better then a good billy. She is definitly S or A tier.
- Wraith is not B Tier.. he is at best C Tier, but i would rahter put him in D Tier. Putting him on the same level as Freddy is beyond my comprehension.
- Said that, i would put Freddy in A Tier.
- You underestimate Plague

But better not the sewer as a map.. with the secondary object to escape the trial. Urgh!

Stranger Things by a mile.
Actually anything would be better then Pennywise. What is IT suppose to do? Become a gigantic Spider? Suck everyone in the deadlights? Smashing peoples head with a balloon?
Please no "Pennywise". Read the book and you agree.

Oh by the way, forgot to say this earlier but I thought your guide looked really amazing. I'd love to see the finished product, and I'm sure it would be useful to new players if you wanted to post it on the forums when it's finished!
Thanks a lot and congratulation to the first place, i was pretty sure you will make the top spot, even tho some other guides were really good too, also some that did not got mentioned unfortunatly.
We will probably upload it somewhere between Monday and Wednesday next week
Kind regards

@Peanits Thanks a lot! Maybe next time then, if you do something similar. We are also interested in 3d modelling/animating if you decide to do a contest like that :)

Congratz to the winners! Fantastic job!!
Very cool guides, as i already mentioned i really liked the #1 a lot.
Im still a bit sad that we were not able to do it in time... just a few more hours and we would got at least in. We even had most of the layout for all the other pages and the whole text, but we decided not to rush it and finish it at some point.
Thats the version we had right at the due time
preview Beginners Guide Dead by Daylight.pdfWe will finish it probably during next week, if someone wants it, let me know :)
-
Any build that includes Spine Chill is underrated. This perk is god tier, exceling even perks like Dead Hard and Borrowed time by a mile. I even think it is the best perk you can have in a chase if you are really good with it and certainly the best perk against stealthy killers. Especially it is great against Nurse and Spirit too.
How about this:
Iron Will
Spine Chill
Dead Hard
Resilience
-
@Seltas0208 said:
It's a good idea in concept but how would you remove ineffectiveness , if it's only healing then insta down perks and insta down killers would skyrocket in usage
I think it would not change that a lot, but it would force survivor to heal each other. Like i said, maybe this would buff Legion a bit, also most other killers that dont have crazy movement speed (and therefore are usually a bit weaker then billy, nurse and spirit)
-
Define good :P
Im rank 1 on Killer but i am certainly better on some then others. Still i play them all, except huntress.
-
I highly doubt that this is ment to be a feature intended by the developers. Its something they have apparently overseen or they dont know how to deal with that.
