This. One good survivor has the potential to escape alive, but 4 good survivors against one good killer can drastically change the balance and destroy a killer if they dont play 100% optimally. Making it more stressfull to manage, not exactly harder but stressfull non the less

What has that to do with the statistic? We can see that the Killer is performing better. Your point makes no sense to me sorry.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

well survivors are more powerful then the killers depip squad already proved that but the majority of survivors are very bad at the game and that is the reason the kill rate is very high.

How did depip squad proved it?

You say that most survivor are bad at the game, and Killers are gifted pro gamer somehow? I dont think it is the main reason, why Killer perform so much better then Survivors.

I dont think we should look up for any excuses here. Red rank (and there are the best survivor, no argument possible) is apparently even better for the Killer - Kill Rate 60% - 80%.

  • @CrowFoxy said:

Even if that Killer is seen as bad and needing buffs. For me, it's clown. I hate the blur.

Lots of love for doc though, the new redesign reveal seems great!

It is really hard to choose between Trapper and Freddy.

Trapper because looping against him is the most painful thing in DBD. Every corner, every grass and every window i pass... i am scared. But not in a positive way somehow.

Freddy because of his completly absurd lunge. The guy has invisible spears on his fingers, right?

  • I really need to say this here, but if this statistic is correct i take everything back about this game beeing ballanced.

Again, IF this is correct, killer REALLY need to be quiet... about everything incl SWF.

60-80% Killrate on Red rank? This is nuts... i was not expecting that at all.

  • Some call it broken, some call it bad, i call it "the best perk in DBD to turn around a game"

  • @PigNRun said:

In order to agree with this, I would change the following:

    - STBFL: S to A.

    - If Spirit Fury didnt exist, Enduring would be C.

    - PWYF: A to C.

    - Thanathophobia: A to C.

    - Blood Warden: A to B.

    - Whispers: A to S.

    - Surveillance: B to A.

    - Devour Hope: C to A.

    - Nemesis: C to D.

    - SFTS: D to B.

    - Zanshin Tactics: D to E.

    - Knock Out: D to C.

    - Furtive Chase: D to E.

    - Hangman's Trick: E to C.

STBFL is the best in my opinion, at least on most killers. No way its just A tier

Enduring: Thats almost true, but i would have put it in B and not C then

PWYF is very strong and totally underrated, it deserve at least B

Thana.. well tricky one, strong on some killers, only decent on others. Maybe your are right with this one a bit, but not C, then B tier.

Bloodwarden deserves to be A tier, since EGC its definitly a top tier perk.

Whispers is good on some killers like nurse, but other then that, its only "good"

Surveillance: B is okay for that, A is a bit overrated in my opinion.

Devour is way to inconsistent to be A tier.

    Nemesis: Maybe you are right

SFTS: no way B Tier especially not since the change 1 year ago. Also, there are some maps where there are no crows, so also not very consistent. You rate tracking perks very high.

Zanshin Tactics: Not sure tho, i must admit i have not played it enough.

Knock Out: A perk that has to be comebined with 2 other perks so it become a "okay" build is not worth to be put on C imho

Furtive Chase: Hard to say, maybe i gave it to much credit since there are some interesting builds around it, but standing alone it is really not that great.

Hangman's Trick: 2 years ago maybe. Sabometa is over.

Its Myers, you can not go wrong with that.

He has definitly the better perks, is an overall decent killer (same as Ghostface) and he is simply a lot of fun to play.

Who is stronger? I see them on equal level. For me Myers is stronger since Ghostface's only big advantage is stealth, and many people including myself are running now spine chill, so you can say good bye to that :)

I already expressed my opinion in the title; iri heads are perfect the way they are and if they see a nerf, they will never be used again.

OP because range Oneshot. Enough said.

You think nobody would use it, if they drasticly change this? Good, nobody should. Same with Instaheals, Moris and some other broken Addons / Items.

Change Idea: Only working if further away then 20 Meters. Still stays a oneshot, but at least, the Huntress would need some skill to get the benefit of this addon.

By your logic why heal ever? I've already addressed both the adrenaline and inner strength arguments. Not that I don't think they are good perks, but I have stated exactly why SC can trump both

You get it! Most of the time, it is infact best to not heal and just pop Adrenaline, unless the Situation is calling for it (but more often then not, Gen over Heal)

And yes, like i said - its just your logic why you think SC is better then Inner, i dont try to convince you.

Me as a Killer hooking someone and BBQ shows:

Everybody is on different gens: "F my life, i am doomed"

Everybody is healing somewhere: "Are they even trying?"

    ;)

  • @MarsAttacks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/942279#Comment_942279

Yeah but you're wrong and I already told you why and you're arguments are quite lacking.

Adrenaline is never guaranteed because you don't know if you will be found again or not, survivors are not guaranteed to come to your generator, strong survivor looping long enough for you to to do a gen and heal yourself means you can immediately make a play if you need to.

And if you get booty team mates and 2 get hooked or god forbid 3 get hooked now you have no team mate to heal your and unless you're already on last gen and it's almost completed you're definitely not getting adrenaline, and better hope you haven't already ran out of your medkit ASSUMING your brought one instead of a toolbox lol. Granted if it gets to that point probably going to lose the match anyway but you can still heal yourself and at least attempt to save the game haha

Yea, seams to be your opinion and your great experience is outdoing mine.. If you dont want to understand my argument and you think they are lacking, thats fine. Stick with your opinion. Still, i will try to enter into your arguemtents, even tho i think it should be obvious by now.

Your goal as a survivor is to escape the trial, right? By that, you have to do gens. All gens can be done within 3 minutes of the game if the team is optimal. There are different things you can do as a survivor to help to reach this goal.

    • Do the Generator (Top Priority)
    • Distract the Killer (Top Priority)
    • Cleanse Ruin (Some Priority)

Everything else does not help you to get Gens done. Still, preparing for the endgame can be considered at some point to be very important. And that is mainly healing up and maybe cleansing totems.

Healing up is done best by Adrenaline or by different Teammate(s). And if it has to be something else, Inner is still better. Also dont forget we still might get have a Medkit, way better then SC.

SC can be useful in super rare situations ( e.g. You called it, somehow 3ppl are on the hook... but then i have to ask, how it came to that scenario... were you selfcare somewhere instead of picking up your slugged teammates? :P ) but other then that, all other options are better.

You dont agree with my logic? Good.

  • @MarsAttacks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/942234#Comment_942234

Considering end game is where killer is most likely to camp it actually is am argument.

Yeah, I'm constantly at rank2 survivor and I can safely say there has never been a killer that was so good that I thought SC was useless.

Again you assume that just because we bring sc were IMMEDIATELY healing. And yes you can sit at a gen and HOPE a survivor comes to your gen and HOPE that it's not your gen the killer comes to

Sorry but you just sound like a content creator follower cause I've seen all these same arguments and I've countered them all .

None of your arguments are actually "countering" anything. Maybe by your own logic, but many people would disagree.

I am not assuming anything, beside that you try to use it optimally. It is still just a waste of a perk slot on higher levels and i told you why. Stick with your SC, makes live more easy for me as a Killer ;)

    Lets agree we disagree.

Strong survivors can loop long enough to it make so self care is worth while to use.

Team mates have to be by you to heal if you're self caring that's one less survivor healing you, that's less time spent LOOKING for a team mate if you're even looking for them. If you bring a medkit you're not bringing a toolbox, map, flashlight, or key. Which I'd argue all are more valuable than a medkit.

I still say self care is a top tier perk not having to rely on other survivors makes efficiency go up you can get near a gen heal yourself then repair the gen with your tool box

The people saying it's not too tier don't realize the over arching picture of how useful it actually is.

Strong survivor can loop long enough even injured. Thats no argument at all.

Teammates dont have to be with you, you simply pressure gens if you dont run into one. You are not looking for teammates activly.

I could also say using Selfcare takes away a perkslot. I value a perkslot as high as an Item.

Adrenaline.. you will get it, if you rush gens instead of wasting time SC in a corner.

"The people saying it's not top tier don't realize the over arching picture of how useful it actually is."

The people that say its top tier are probably not very good survivors sorry. Try to run SC vs a strong 5K hours killer, and you find out how absolutly useless it is.

  • Since Selfcare is not considered a Top Tier perk by most people it can not be overrated aswell.

Selfcare is for sure not the worst perk, but it is also not a great one.

Personally I can not think about any option that is not better then Selfcare. Medkit, Teammate, Adrenaline, Inner Strenght.. everything outclasses SC. Those 30 seconds are an eternety in DBD.

While you experience this your way, i do it in a completly different one. The best, athing that can happen to you as a killer is when people are healing up instead of pressuring gens. That gives you so much more time to do something. All the pressure they might had before is instantly gone.

And SC is the crown prince of giving up pressure.

Probably been playing for 5 months or so. I play a lot of killers. Love Ghostface/Freddy. Ghostface i usually do the antihealing build. Freddy kinda whatever, Pop/Ruin/and whatever other perks. Id say biggest problem is any person i find they run right to a safe loop and i either entertain the loop or leave to find someone else and they do the same thing. Other problem is just trying to find these immersive people. But i cant seem to down people and stop gens from popping.

    Alright

    1. Do you know how to record a gameplay of yourself? If so, mind uploading it? This helps deftinitly the most.
    2. 5 months is not a lot of time, you probably need more experience to compete with red rank survivors. Dont stick your head in the sand, you will eventually get better, trust me. Its a process.
    3. I highly recommand Enduring and Spirit fury comination especially when u struggle at chases. Something like Pop, Ruin, Enduring, Spirit Fury. Whispers is another fantastic perk if you struggle finding survivors. But finding survivor is only experience, you simply dont know the maps that well yet. I had the same problem at the beginning.
    4. Use the Moonwalking technique at any time, try to get used to it. If you dont know what it is, its basicly walking backwards before getting to a corner where the survivor can see you . This wont show him the red gloom and its much more easy to catch survivors.
    5. Pressure is a key element in DBD. Therefore, when you see someone when u downed somebody else, its most all the time a good idea to just slug this person and go for the next one instantly.
    6. Genpressure is also very important, always use the middle of the map and not the outskirts to get gens very fast (not only at the beginning of a trial)

As i said, record some gameplay, post it here, and we can do way more for you.

Better to have everybody pooled together than to keep them arbitrarily separated. Rank is essentially meaningless, except at ranks 20-12.

Really what they should do is cut down on total ranks, maybe just 1-10. New players should be paired with ONLY new players for 5 to 10 matches, and if they can't find other/enough players, then they play against bots. Then once they're done with those practice matches, they get placed at Rank 10 and enter the general pool of Players. Matchmaking should put people together within 2-4 ranks of each other, and the system eventually expands its search if there's not enough people playing.

At the current state of the game, the skill difference between an average Rank 1 and an average rank 10 is very significant. The rank 1 is way better in every possible aspect of the game and there is no room for debate.

Queue times are in my opinion not as much of a problem then this might end up. Imagine playing with 3 beginners vs a top Killer, just because they are red rank. You will beg for longer queue times if that happens to you constantly.

People basicly asking here for throwing all players in one pool. I really fear, this might turn out to be a total mess.

  • @konchok said:

I like the changes. It has helped the matchmaking to be a lot more fair after rank reset. However, I agree with you that getting to high rank should be harder. What about something like, once you hit red ranks, you can't pip if you don't escape. This would allow people to get to rank 4 easily but would reduce the amount of survivors at rank 1.

    @PistolTimb said:

I prefer the changes as well. I find games much faster at rank 1 than I do at rank 11.

thats true what you say, but imagine this system without any changes in a year. Probably 80% or more of the playerbase would be red rank then. Whats the point of that?

  • They mentioned Survivors should have a chance, but a chance is always relative. I like the random factor, it keeps the game fresh, even tho it is sometimes frustrating.

Often you get something like this, which is a free escape for the Survivors, but i dont really mind.

It does matter since if it's red rank experienced survivors they can abuse certain loops a lot more and just gen rush since the chase would take too long if it's a red rank killer duh it's a stomp and with average yellow/greens its a coin toss

No i dont think so. On rank 1 Survivor have a slight edge over most Killers (we are not talking about Nurse Spirit and some of the bottom like Bubba or Clown of course), but once the killer brings in a red mori, its game over, unless he plays super fair or just uses the mori for cosmetic style after 2nd hook.

I can honestly say, that as a killer i never had a problem with keys, on any rank. Red mori is a totally different story. If the Killer decides to abuse it to its full potential (hook one and then tunnel this person + mori afterwards) you really cant do a lot.

I still think, they will nerf both, For Keys, Hatch will probably only stay open for 2-3 seconds after Key teatment, and the Mori will hopefully only become active once everyone is hooked 1 time.

  • Nobody is asking for billy nerf, but some Killer mains are afraid they will nerf him since he is the 3rd strongest killer. Nurse#1 and Spirit#2 already got their treatment.

  • Does it really matter? Its almost always a win for the Killer on Rank 20 and on Rank 1 (unless the Killer is way worse then the Survivors due to rank reset)

  • Hmm

Lets play some rounds. 4 random Survivors with a Key vs a Killer with Ebony Mori. I bet a Quadrizillion Bison Dollars, the Killer gets at least a 3K 95 times out of 100 games.

So yea, lets go and talk about keys, when something as "ballanced" as an Ebony Mori is in the game.

To clear something up I was playing legion with his new pin add on that brought survivors into the broken state and some people didn’t want to go against it and they wanted to leave their team, THATS why I didn’t kill them. I put myself in the perspective of the other survivors and thought “man that’d really suck if my teammates wanted to purposely die”. So either they’d decide to play normally, or dc with the new ban. Thanks for understanding.

    -Fixed Freddy

    -Nerfed Oni

    -Nerfed spirit

And this are the most recent changes, not counting the old ones

Nurse nerf was more then needed, still auto 4K if you are decent with her.

Legion got buffed recently (and they will still improve him)

    Freddy is still strong

Oni is not extremly powerful but doing alright

Spirit nerf needed, still very powerful

All those changes are in my opinion really good (they could have taken a different path with Nurse tho). And no, i am not a Survivor main. Just my lens POV.

okay so, I think what this community needs to understand is that everyone, EVERYONE (both survivors and killers) can run whatever perk they want. They can run meta they can run bad perks but they can run everything their hearts desires. This topic is touched literally every discussion here. ''They run ds so I tunnel&bully&slug'' ''They run noed what a piece of #########''

These kind of comments makes no sense. You can't choose what your killer runs, you can't choose what your survivors run. So STOP. COMPLAINING.

    Am I thinking wrong?

Sounds very reasonable, but it is not.

No complaining means accepting. If you are not fine with something in the game you can either try to become a part of the Dev team or let them know what bothers you.

The same is with the community. You are not fine that Killer is running Red Mori? Let him know in a friendly way, maybe he is changing his attitute. Or it becomes a common opinion and Devs notice it.. they might even change it for good.

It is nowadays so normal that we stop talking to each other what bothers us because "hey its his game, he can do what he wants..."

We all play together and we should give our best that EVERYONE has a good time. Of course you can not make things right for everyone, but you should at least try!

Always try to find a way that you have a good time and those who are in your game aswell.

If you get flamed every game, maybe you should start to think, that you are doing something, that pisses off everyone else and it is time to change that a little bit!?

Just because you can do somthing is still no justification that you should do it.

    The Discussion about Sprint Burst.

I always throught SB is a mediocore perk, completly unsless compared to DH or BL.

A long time ago, i stumbled over a (now) kinda famous youtuber and streamer who wanted to tell me, that my beloved DH is outclassed by Sprintburst... me so... #########? Is that guy seriously telling me that Sprintburst is the best perk in the game?

Still, i was curious and i wanted to find out if it can be really so strong. I mean, he has 5K hours and was one of the best survivors i have ever seen...he probably knows at least slightly what he is talking about. ;)

After trying out SB for a longer time, i must say, that he is right, but i personally still prefere DH, since it is way more confortable. But the potential of SB is in fact a little higher, but it also takes some effort.

If you are a lazy bone like me, stay with Dead Hard... there is nothing wrong with this perk, its amazing.

I would put Unbreakable, Prove Thyself, and Iron Will, and ESPECIALLY Hope in S tier and put Spine Chill in A.

Slugging is a viable strat in high ranks making Unbreakable less situational than you'd think. Prove Thyself makes 2 manning a gen OP, Iron Will makes you impossible to track while injured, and Hope you'll never get caught in the end-game (and a counter to NOED.)

I know the Hope one in S sounds far fetched but seriously Resilience and Hope are a staple in the builds during this meta ( a meta where we see endgame nearly every game and Reslience helps with the no heals+iron will + dead hard making for an insane solo queue build)

Unbreakable and Iron Will: Yes, those perks are really great, i run them very often and you are right with everything you said. As you can see, i put them into high A Tier, almost S Tier and i was thinking about putting them into S. But S is for me more or less reserved for thise perks i think that actually break the game (or are very close to it), and while both are very useful, i dont see them on that level.

Prove Thyself: I think i placed it perfectly. While it is a fantastic perk, it has a major flaw -> The Meta. One of the worst things you can do is to do gens with multible people at once, the best way is actually to split up. In certain situations it is great tho.

Hope: Maybe i was a bit hard on Hope, and i have put it on my "Have to play more often" List, but S? Well, i try to figure out by my own in the near future, then i will update (or not, depending on how it turns out) my List

  • That might be a strange pick but for me it is handsdown:

    The Trapper

    ... i hate Trapper traps

This Killer is ruining my day every day at least once. I know he is not thats strong, but playing against him is sooo painful. Every window you fault, every grass you walk through, its the pure horror for me when against the Trapper.

  • As long as Red and Green Moris are in the game, i am okay with every op survivor item they might add :P
