Now granted, I threw a lot of games trying to complete some of the dumber rift challenges so its (kinda) my fault I got to green rank to begin with. HOWEVER even tho im green all of my teammates and the killer are constantly brown. Im talking 1 perk, DC if theres ruin, farm each other off the hook type survivors. Ive gotten to the point where I message the killer and bet them that they and 3 of the survivors are brown rank. Havent lost a bet yet.
So im in a limbo, I can still survive by getting the hatch or the door after they close the hatch (They for some reason never patrol the doors) but because my teammates stay useless I am also constantly de pipping, probably increasing my chances of being matched with browns since im not too far off from being one. And because I know how every game is going to end I just dgaf most of the time. "Why even play then?" Because I love this game and have 8 days to finish the grindy ass rift. I had 1 game in the last week with other greens and I was reminded how fast gens can get done when more than one person is working on them.
And I see a lot of people complain about the same thing and why they want lobby ranks brought back (I dont really think this is the fix because im not going to dodge lobbies anyway, then again I just killed myself on the hook for the first time so maybe I would, which is toxic so still not a fix) but how is this even possible? How can everyone experience the exact same thing unless theyre purposefully matching one higher rank with a bunch of noobs.
This post is half me bitching but also half me really asking #########? Like EVERY game im matched with only browns? That cant be right
Hello there
Just rank up, you dont need your teammates to get something done. If you are not an expert in looping the Killer, play passive.
At your rank as a survivor it is enough to do 2 Gens and 2 safe unhooks plus heals and then die to get +1 even (if you can run the killer just a little bit so you get silber).
Perks that help you A LOT especiall on your rank (and probably on any ranks)

I am looking forward to see more stuff from Paulie Ester, who apparently is right now digging through the date that got probably leaked.

It is strange. This season i was playing from 7-5 almost all the time vs red rank and now i am in red rank, i get purple ranked survivors more often then before.

A new start for everyone!
I think this was already needed with the new rank reset system to balance the popularity on different ranks. Atm it feels like 90% of the players are in red ranks. And I know from friends who recently picked up dbd that the Q times in grey ranks are ridiculously long, which scares away new players.
This is a bad idea. Most people would rather wait a bit longer then having totally unballanced matchmaking. Imagine a new Killer versing 1000+ hours Survivors all day long. He will quit the game within the first few days, if not even faster.

As a survivor I haven't been given the hatch once in like 200 hours of surviving. Soooo...
Happened to a friend of mine once while we were playing.
I give it pretty much all the time and i just got it from the killer.

I have had two games against a Nurse in the last month. Everyone got out and it was a red rank Nurse. There are very few Nurse's on console. I do not doubt her power, but her popularity, well, she isn't ever picked; as such i cannot put her higher.
Plague has some decent slowdown and snowball, plus, a lot of console Survivors cleanse.
GF's ability to turn off his TR and get instant downs is INVALUABLE.
If Trapper started with all his traps, he would be B tier at least.
Well, for me a tier list is a lot about the potential of the killer. That there are not many nurses on console (i know that) does not mean she is not the best ;)
Same with Plague, just because survivors are potato does not mean the plague is very good.
GF i dont know, he gets countered by way 2 much. Onces his stealth is revealed, he has nothing. Many people use Spine Chill right now, which hurts him.
Trapper would be S+ tier, if he started with all his traps. He is definitly not one of the worst, since his snowball potential is insane. My last trapper games all lasted like 5-10 minutes and i got them all due to that.

This is just my personal opinion. This rankings here are of my own experience both playing as, and against, these Killers.
Nurse is also the best killer on console, most are just bad with her, but that does not mean she isn't the greatest.
You overrate Ghostface an Plague a bit. Trapper should be C or even B Tier.
Otherwise a decent list.

Considering how bizarrely common DCs are (esp before penalties), they have an impact on this data regardless.
Does it disregard games where someone DCs? Data inaccurate.
Does it still count the games where someone DCs? 3vs1 so killer has a major advantage.
They should hire a data scientist because this chart means absolutely nothing. People are drawing wrong conclusions based upon it, devs included.
Also Killer DC even when they definitly had the potential chance to get at least 1-2 kills.
And if survivor DC, many Killer tend to give last guy hatch, which evens this up a but.

Because survivors have then in the add-ons for items and don't actually need them.
The problem is 4 survivors could stack them and why as above the old moonlight ones were discontinued as it meant making too many variants of lighting for the maps and it would be horrible for the killer to play that match.
true, but how about bring a new Ultra rare Offering that has nothing to do with brightness?

Maybe a bit OT, but i dont get the "name shaming" either. They shamed themself when they took the action they did and so they are also responsible for it. Whatever back to topic.
I kinda agree with the OP, i also never have a big problem with SWF, and when i do, who cares? Loosing a game simply showcases me, that i can still improve, since other great killers manage to destroy them even with their vioce advantage (over solo players).
See it as a challange guys.. expect to loose some or even many games, but learn form those :)

@SambaSaw said:
Well I didn't know it was the perk mad grit I thought it was some agitation trick
Its a combo many killers use for a basement build. The goal for that is obviously to hook survivors into the basement, so its harder for their teammates to get the safe.
They run
Agitation, Mad Grit, Iron Grasp and often Ruin. Some Leatherface would instead of ruin or Mad Grit use Insidious for camping.
This is kinda popular now especially because of the rift challanges like "Hook 5 Survivor in the basement".
Kind regards

The survivor one is relaxing and I use it to go to sleep sometimes ,ahah.
I absolutly agree. The sound in general, the music, the effects... just great! Dont get me wrong, the whole art design, the mood they created and everything is really cool, but in my opinion, the sound stands obove it all.

Is it bannable to afk as killer and let survivors do what they want?
While i definitly understand you, but here is my point. Dont derank. If you are good enough for red rank you should stay there. If you rank down on purpose just to have easy games vs lower survivors, it can be very frustration for you opponents.
Also you say you are completetive... why you derank then? Thats the opposite of competetive.

@BagelLord said:
I have been seriously wondering this for a while, I understand it technically is a way for all survivors to escape without gates, but that's only when all gens are finished either way. The way it works is for 1 survivor to get hatch spawned is that everyone else is dead, and every other amount of survivors require 1+however many are left alive to even spawn in the first place. I frequently see keys being held on an even level with moris, and I simply don't understand why.
I play survivor and killer totally equaly, on both red rank, this is my experience with keys so far.
Maybe i am a lucky person when it comes to keys, but in the last 1000 hours of playtime there was not even a handful of games where the survivors escaped with a key. Maybe i am very effective to deny that, i dont know, but keys are for me totally irrelevant for some reason.
I am way more affraid of strong toolboxes or instaheals, please survivors bring keys as much as you want. The most powerful on keys in my opinion is actually the addon that makes you see the killers aura. While looping at jungle gyms, its very strong.
On the other side, as a survivor, i got moried probably 100 times so far.
Those arguments of killer mains that Moris should be removed only when they remove keys is totally absurd. A mori is way more powerful... and it is just an offering, you can still bring in your best addons. Survivor bring a key.. thats it.
So yes, if this is the deal (remove mori and key) then as a survivor, i am 100% with that. Its a total win for survivors.

you know it says a lot about someone who is disguising their opinion as fact. You want to hear some facts? Nurse used to be the killer with the highest win rate in rank 1 now she is the one with the lowest, moreover her pick rate has gone down to 3 worst. Those are F A C T S.
You wanna know whats not a fact? Saying that just because i dont like the nerfed version of a killer i wasnt good with her to begin with. Such a cheap Argument to make like " You dont like the nerfed version? You must have sucked anyway". What if I told you that the reason nurse got nerfed in the first place is because rank 4 and above survivors were too damn stupid to cut line of sight meaning they sucked? Hell 99% of the player base sucks by that metric. And you want to make a killer viable only for 1% of dedicated no life players? Where is the fun in that?
Dude what are we even talking here?
The question of the topic is "Why is nobody talking about nurse anymore", and i said: Because those people who did not main her or are amazing with her moved on to a different killer. You said it yourself, the winrate is very low on her now. Guess why that is? Amazing Nurse players still destroy, those who are not that good.. loose.
Many people dont want to spend so much time on learning her. For old nurse with her strong addons winning was super easy, now its hard. So again, they moved on to different killers (look at pickrate) and accepted it. Or they learn her propperly and get destroyed by survivor until they are actually good.
And Survivor dont care so much anymore because they rarly face a godtier nurse anymore.
The combinition of those makes this topic less interesting anymore.
Yep, these are facts. True, interpretation all along, but based on statistics and what we see ourself, its dead obvious.

I do the one that let's you carry max amount of traps, and just start dropping them in random spots they wouldn't expect. Like in the fields, cornstalks, dark doorways, etc. It's funny as hell to be honest. They expect them at pallets and windows, but not out in the random open...
@LOA said:
I usually either use Fog to make it even harder to see the traps, or I use the ones that make the hooks closer together. If you can get two survivors hooked at once, you can setup a mine field in between the two hooks that makes it hard to get to them. It really comes down to trap placement though, so unless you are a low ranked killer, survivors know the usual spots of windows and pallets, etc. Remember, the tall grass is the Trappers best friend!!
Ty guys, i will try it out now lets see how it goes :)
I go in with a Stitched bag, Tar Bottle, as offering i will pick an extra mist addon.
-
@LOA said:
The best things to use, imo, are the Yellow or Purple sacks so that you can carry more Traps at once and the Tar Bottle so that your traps are extremely hard to see. The biggest trick with Trapper though is to place your traps in no traditional places. Instead of placing it right next to a window or a pallet, place it where the survivors are going to run their loops. They'll jump the window or not drop the pallet, take a right, and bam, they get trapped. Also, being able to carry 2 or 3 traps at once is very nice when you have a survivor hooked. You can place 2 or 3 around the hooked survivor and usually catch someone just after the unhook. Especially if there are only a few avenues for the rescuer to take to get to the hook. The Tar Bottle, or a weaker trap darkener, really really helps.
Good Luck!!
Thanks a lot, i will try that out.
What kind of offering would you use? Maybe a map?

sounds like a solid rank 20 opinion you got there bud, if I dont want to play her anymore I was bad? Its not like survivors could juke me, so if i was bad i wasnt the problem right? So why make nurse even worse for people who are bad? Isnt the goal.of the game to be balanced around casual play? Didnt the stats show that nurse is now garbage on all ranks? I am curious how often have you and your 4man swf lost to a nurse since rework?
Its not an opinion, its a fact. Or do you see many nurses porting around anymore? You mainly do what you do in what you are good. And talking about fun: Its not fun to loose hardcore and to ######### up all the time the blinks that you have hit with your old addons. Prove me wrong, but the lack of nurse is telling a different story then yours. I played her aswell, and i think she is plays a bit slow, but mainly i stoped playing her because i dont wanna spend to much time into practicing her to actually get good. And so is probably 90% of the base thinking, especially when you read salty post chat in DBD which only revolves mainly around "getting outplayed".
And my non excisting 4 man Team is almost never running into nurses anymore. Funny that you talk about ballancing and stuff when i have not even mentioned anything, all i said is that hard truth:
Most old Nurse players suck now with her and so they gave her up
Some really good Nurse stick with her
Survivor dont care because as seen above, there are not many nurse players left.
What of that is not understandable for you?

@Skrill0x said:
She went from being hated by survivors and loved by killers to just being hated all around. You cant play her anymore with that cooldown on high rank, I mean you barely could before the cooldown nerf because survivors at rank 4 and below know how to break line of sight but now its just impossible to ever catch someone.
Nurse was a guess game from the start, as soon as someone breaks line of sight all the nurse can do is guess whereas survivors with their superior third person vision can see you around corners. There was no reason to give her power a cooldown, absolutely none. Look at her stats now, she went from being the most liked killer to the least liked one. I feel like my sister was abused bruh....
Why is nobody talking about Nurse anymore? Easy answer
Those who were not good with the nurse stopped playing her and play now different killers. Those who are actually good with her, still play her and still own everyone.
And for survivors. Because of that, you dont get a nurse very often anymore. Geting rect by a nurse every once in like 20 games is no big deal.

My favorite killer is trapper, he gives a lot more possibility of mind games, making the survivors think if there is a trap or not in that area making they chose another way.
Perk build that I recommend:
Hex: ruin: give u a bit more of time to place traps and think in a plan.
Overcharge: when they blow a gen they will leave the area and if there is a trap around they have a small chance of getting cought.
Monitor and abuse: if they can hear you what about know if you set a trap? Also it can be used to get closer without they know.
Barbecue and chili: extra blood points and if you see a survivor you can think a better way to slug or kill him taking him in to a trap
Right now it is the Doctor.
The best build on him in my opinion is BBQ, Ruin, Pop, Safe the best for last.
No specific addons, pick what you like. I enjoy running some kind of range addon.

@Ratatosk said:
Very unpopular opinion, I know about 90% or so of everyone who sees this will be against me, but I personally don't think that "gen-rushing" exists. The survivors just do generators, as they're supposed to do, but sometimes they get them done really quick because the killer doesn't apply pressure. That's either the fault of the person playing the killer because they're either focusing one survivor or they refuse to get in chases for more than 15 seconds, or the fault of the character because many killers have poor map pressure. Then you take into account the map you're in, and that factors either way as well. The point is, I believe that "gen-rushing" isn't an actual thing, it's just what killers (and even some survivors) say when they don't put pressure on gens, either on purpose or because of their character.
I play both sides evenly, so don't come at me with the whole "survivor main myeh" bull.
As you say, "gen-rushing" does exist. It simply means survivor are not wasting time with unneccessary stuff and do the gens as quickly as possible. There is nothing wrong with that, in fact its the most effective way to play as survivor.
Everything you wrote is correct.

No, absolutely not. Farming isn't bad imo. I regularly farm when either; A. someone DC's or B. if 1 or 2 people played really well and their team threw the game with 3 or more generators remaining (to say it more clearly survivors I respect/pitty). I don't think that farming is bad and I'm going to continue doing that because I know that if someone dcs on my team then I want the killer to show me mercy,or if I played really well and both the killer and I acknowledge each other. What do you think?
I would rather like to play the game, but if something bad happens like one teammate has a DC, i take it ofc.
So no, farming is not a bad thing.

Because you make some assumption? I dont know about you but when i find out that there are statistics which should represent red rank matches than I expect them to do exactly that and not only red rank killers, which are more likely to have easy matches against potatoes who are not able to obtain red rank survivor given that it is way easier to get to red ranks as survivor.
Also that is an utter speculation on your end to assume that every side gets the equal amount of bad matches.
i did not make any speculation, i just reflected what you said: Both sides are getting opponents that are above or below their rank. You first said survivors are getting those, thats why my point is valid. In the next breath you contradict yourself with your experience as a killer saying the opposite.
-
@Endstille said:
As red rank killer i get everything from red to purple to green as survivor i even get yellow killers.
You can call bs all you want, doesn't make it untrue. Just the fact that he has info we do not have access to. The data would look probably very diffrent if it was only for red ranks exclusive.
well... according to you, that would actually even it up, if you get yellow/purple/green killer as Red rank survivor. Even it is true what this dev said, it does not matter at the end of the day since every role gets better or worse enemey from time to time.

I have both my killer and survivor at rank 1. I love seeing statistics but the kill rate stuff doesn't mean anything for red ranks.
If red ranks really were the best of the best then I'd agree this is way to high. However at the current moment players can get to red rank even if they are useless. If these stats were changed slightly and were based off killing survivors who had more than 1000+ hours then the average would be lower. I'm not arguing for that killer is weaker or survivor is weaker, I'm just saying these stats mean nothing for red ranks.
I'd love to see these stats again based off killing survivors who have over 1000 hours playtime.
And why are we talking about red ranks at all? These are statistics overall. I just mentioned, that red ranks are even worse. Rank 10 Killer vs Rank 10 survivor is still the same, Killer gets more kills then he should.
@Endstille said:

Fair enough, but I believe that is the minority opinion. So just to confirm, you would be perfectly happy with killrate being 25%, as long as the pipping system were changed to where you could still pip? So you would say the devs should maybe be looking at ways to make it tougher to get kills, but easier to pip?
thats what i agree aswell. Less kills, better way to pip.

I think i need to add: in my opinion. I base my wins on pips. Not kills or escapes.
Many do because every other concideration of winning and loosing would not make any sense at the current state aka killers are getting to many kills. Thats also why the game will never reach a competetive level.

If a killer gets three kills in the EGC after a genrush due to extremely altruistic survivors he still depips. Killrate means nothing, just a smart move from BHVR to get data for their weird balance decisions.
Like i said, 3K before a single gen is done and last one escaping through hatch or just a NOED 3K at the end does not change anything, the outcome is the same. You might say to yourself that you actually won but thats not the truth.
@DwightOP said:
To many survivors are hanging around red ranks but are absolute potatoes. They waste shack pallet against Legion in frenzy mode, urban evade at the corner of the map etc, suicide 1St hook etc
It's easy to pip as survivor, but very difficult as killer in comparison. Low skilled survivors verse high skilled killers and you will get these statistics.
However, when high skilled killers verse high skilled swf groups, then you can consider yourself lucky killing one of them without ebony mori etc
So you think ballancing the Emblem system will solve it? The killer is always superior to the survivor above all ranks? (a rank 15 killer is better then the 4 rank 15 Survivors)
If thats the case, why would those killers come here and complain about it all the time? We assume they run vs survivors with the same Rank as they have.. in your book they must be better then them
-
@IceCreamPrincess said:
The thing this data shows is that the killers are getting kills. What it doesn't show is how the matches went, how the kills happened, how many times the survivors where hit, how many hooks in total in the match, if the survivors where killed in one hook or 3, how quickly the gens where completed etc.
For example, lets use the 2 kills 2 escapes. If a killer gets 2 kills, and 2 people escape through the exit gates, odds are that killer will depip or black pip. A killer can get 2 kills by just camping a two guy to death, or he could play "fair" 2 hook everyone and everyone escapes.
This data only shows the kills, without anything else this is pretty useless data
The statistic not only shows that killers are getting kills, it shows that they are getting more then 2 kills on average, which is in my opinion not how this game should be. It does not really matter which way the killer chose how he managed to get the kills, he was able to win the game more often then not.
In terms of statistic, everything above a 2K is a win for the killer, and everything above 2 Survivors escaping is a win for survivors. If you interpretate this different, this is only your interpretation then, but for the game itself (imagine for a second this would be an esports title) it does not really matter. And so are the numbers of hooks a killer get.
Like i said, this is not talking about bloodpoints or Emblem. That would be a different story (it is harder for killer to get emblem)
If this is the main complain, most killers are not complaining about unfair games, they are only complaining about unfair emblem system.
