  • Tons of better games out there like Civ 6

  • Go play Survivor.

Don't have to worry about gen if there's no killer in the game.

  • Had a survivor have built in iron will down :)

    I. Buffing the killer against SWF is my whole point. Right now, you can't change SWF without changing solo survivor as well (Unless you give the killer buffs depending on whether or not a SWF is in the group, but I've touched on that before and don't plan on touching on it again. TL;DR: Assuming an optimal SWF is too broad of an assumption to make.). Making every team a pseudo-SWF would make balancing the game a lot more linear, instead of having to do backwards changes to change SWF OR Solo Survivor without changing both. This one change would open the door to killer and survivor balancing without having to worry about the difference between solo survivor and SWF.

II. First things first, this game is not balanced. There are certain maps, perks, killers, items and addons that are all in desperate need for balancing (Put a Bubba against 4 Commodious toolboxes on Ormond and tell me that's balanced. It's just not.). But even assuming it is, SWF still needs to be taken into account. Even though SWF is a minority, they are a recognizable minority. I've always believed in balancing around all points of a feature. That includes its weakest, its average, and most importantly, its strongest. If you got 3 competent friends with good items and good perks, and you had a 99% chance of winning that game, then what's the point of playing in the first place? It's frustrating for the killer. It gets old for the survivors. That's how a game dies, when one team has the ability to effectively secure a win, while the other team has no tools to stop it. That's true for many things in this game, and optimal SWF is one of them.

III. DBD is certainly not ESports material in its current state, but who's to say it can't be? Who's to say that players shouldn't be able to go head to head with one another to see who can come out on top? Who's to say that we can't choose the best killer players in the entire game, the best survivors, the best survivor teams? I have a competitive mindset, and I dream of this kind of stuff. I know I'm not the only one out there.

IV. Well, the first thing that comes to mind is to nerf survivor-sided maps. Some maps are too big and take too long to patrol (Mother's Dwelling comes to mind. Rotten Fields as well.), some maps have too many safe pallets (Ormond, Blood Lodge), some maps are way too good for immersion (Yamaoka, Swamp.), etc.. Another idea is to nerf certain items that survivors have at their disposal, like keys and toolboxes (Perhaps in compensation for buffing things like Maps and Medkits?). You could also increase the amount of time it takes to repair a generator, have more consequences for staying injured vs. healing, and more things alone those lines. The game doesn't need to be completely rebalanced around communication, because communication (While strong) would just be another feature. Sure, some serious nerfs would need to happen in exchange for this, but not on a scale that's completely unreasonable.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967816#Comment_967816

[I love your name btw. lol.]

I also think that players should have the option to toggle this feature on and off, precisely for people like you who value atmosphere over balance (Which is perfectly reasonable, as I think that both are important. Personally I value the latter, but it's just personal preference.).

    I. You can with my suggestion. As I said no need to change everything to be in lined with the Minority. The game is simply not built that way.

II. I was under the impression we're talking about Survivor and communication? Yes. Map balance is an entirely new discussion altogether. Has no correlation with Information via communication or changing how Survivor works by giving them SWF level of information. Yet if we put a Killer in a regularly sized map that doesn't require half a gen to walk from end to another like Red forest against a team of randoms you would see that the interaction with the killer and survivor is actually balanced with the killers could disrupt information pretty often.

III. Yes, you're not the only one. There is a 'tournament' scene going on and it's genuinely one of the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. It's not the type of tournament you're imagining.

  • Dedicated servers are bonkers really.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v36rnTfAxXg&feature=youtu.be

It's why recently I started using Spine chill and resilience because I was annoyed enough that safe vaults are getting free hits. In fact I noticed a lot of killers going for absurd early lunges a lot.

  • So how's the challenges? Should I start expecting disaster to unfold by farming each other.

  • Yes, That's the type of visuals I expect from a horror theme game. It's awesome. Just makes me wish all maps were this creepy on day one

  • Not gonna lie, Lery looks damn awesome. This is the type of visual from maps I expect from a horror themed game.

  • When this patch come out I hope Killers would either switch to Survivor so there's no more killers or non stop usage of Ebonies.

pretty much this. The iri heads would be fine alone. You actually have to show some skill to use them, and with just one hatchet, you cannot snowball.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968553#Comment_968553

You don't even have to camp, that's the point XD Therefore my choice for the second best combo

@Tisfine Black insense is the Plague aura reading one, mentioned. Or did you write it the same time?

For single addons my top 3 would be:

    Black Insense

    Tuft of Hair

    Coxcombed Clapper

    Same time.

New ruin + surveilance would be stupidly op if it wasen't a hex. Most good players didn't even bother cleansing the old ruin

Not cleaning it now will bite you a lot harder in the rear

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/973380#Comment_973380

Surge PGTW and overcharge are the only perks that don't work with it

PGTW takes 20 seconds to repair the damage

Ruin+thrilling tremors blocks every gen not worked on for an effective 24 seconds if it's regressing all the time

A lot more powerfull at the cost of the hex being able to be destroyed

Sorry, Mate the new hex perk only bites your own rear. You're hoping for late game or a good scenario where no one sees Ruin for the entire match? haha good luck when totem spawns are screwed.

  • Do people actually neglect the fact that this perk is still a HEX?

The change is better and opens a lot of build possibilities if again WASN'T A HEX.

  • DBD isn't rocket science. I don't need to play PTB to realize a HEX perk is useless when the effect is barely noticeable.

You would have a better argument if Ruin isn't a Hex perk anymore. At least prior to the nerf you could argue those 30 seconds to 1 minute was enough to grant you that early momentum with this? Nothing. It hopes that the hex last long enough for a scenario where you can hold the generator hostage but could be countered just by Survivor walking around and stumbling into the totem.

  • You do know Ruin is still a hex perk?

The change may sound good on paper and could open to some interesting build but ultimately it's still a hex perk. Survivors wouldn't even realize Ruin was in the game in the first place lmfao

  • Get a developer to play the game live(Again) and it's on Red ranks.

Are you daft? I read your post and answered accordingly. What is that you want? Your way of discussing stuff is so aggressive smh. Have you even tried and read what I was writing to other people?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968153#Comment_968153

You're attitude is honestly so outrageous it's insane. What I'm asking for ARE NOT Billy nerfs but just some consistency with the mechanics that were intended for killers. If I do any mistake with the ability of killers I play that are Nurse, Plague, Pig and Hag I get punished for it with survivors gaining distance or lose LoS.

This isn't the case with billy where at loops you can press m2 for a microsecond to bait you're going for the chainsaw and get a hit out of it because of lack of animation on the ability cancel.

Mate this is the third time you didn't address my post at all.

"Only thing who doesn't know how his power works here is you. There's already a skill curve on his Chainsaw imagine being forced to keep holding M2 in Loops if you messed up and you have no choice but to keep holding it because either scenario punishes you with a cooldown unless the Rev is guaranteed which I highly doubt if the Survivor is good. There's also the fact that you're comparing Leatherface to Billy who has to micro manage his Chainsaw bar at the same time or the fact that LF has zero skill involve?

Again he M1'd you and gave you distance then help you saved a Pallet for another day. He also has no choice but to play as any other M1 killer at that point. The only thing at a disadvantage here is Milly.

If you have to bring up the fact that powers is inconsistent is Freddy. When he's a better clown has no distance loss for spamming his power while moving."

Again you're the one whose daft here.

Well then, I'm pretty sure I play better than you if this is your way of elaborating.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968088#Comment_968088

Clueless? I'm not the one completely missing the point of the thread... or claiming that canceling or using an ability as simple as Billy's chainsaw takes skills.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968096#Comment_968096

Would you say the same for Plague or Huntress? How strong would they be if you were able to cancel your ability at any time and smack them with m1?

Second time you ignored my reply addressing your nonsense and twice you pulled the same card of "I have reputation!, Look at me 1500 hours my opinion is better!" Sad.

Again go back to my recent previous reply, I even quoted myself addressing it. Don't play dumb.

  • Yikes no one is gonna talk about Plague's add on which just makes it so she sees everyone at all times and it's pretty hard to tell if she even has this add on?

Wow, that's a bunch of rude assumptions since I wrote guides and opened many threads to improve some killers and survivors alike. I know what I'm talking about and sure don't deserve this kind of responses.

Thing is that most of you are missing the point: I don't want decision making to be deleted from the game, all I said was that hillbilly shouldn't be punished so little when all other killers do instead. Huntress gets such a huge punishment when she cancel her power so why Hillbilly shouldn't when both powers are deadly in their own ways?

    Read my reply.

  • @Accullla said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967739#Comment_967739

Not at all. I just assumed that you didn't know how the power works, because I didn't believe anyone would complain about this. Like others have said, around half of the roster has a power which they can cancel without a downside and people use that to trick their opponents into putting themselves in an unsafe position. Having these mechanics in the game adds more variety to the chase. Knowing a Billy can feather his chainsaw and punish you for running circles around a single pallet incentivises survivors to add variety to their gameplay and get a bit more creative in a chase. I'd hate to see that go away.

Only thing who doesn't know how his power works here is you. There's already a skill curve on his Chainsaw imagine being forced to keep holding M2 in Loops if you messed up and you have no choice but to keep holding it because either scenario punishes you with a cooldown unless the Rev is guaranteed which I highly doubt if the Survivor is good. • So what are the new buff and nerfs?

  • I don't want their crappy rework. All it does is add Version 1,2,3 and 4 to flood the map pool but still the God windows are still there.

  • @NurseMainBTW said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967750#Comment_967750

It's flawed by logic. A 50/50 situation is where you need to pick an action that your opponent has to guess. Canceling your decision instantly doesn't make sense where most killers don't get to do this. Also, Hag and Trapper suffer a considerably amount of time to cancel a trap placement and they're also immobile while doing it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967753#Comment_967753

Freddy's teleportation punishes him with cooldown tho, which is exactly what a 50/50 should do if you pick the wrong choice.

Damn no wonder I'm having no problems looping a Billy!

Lol baiting a respect is 50/50 my dude. The billy baited you out for getting greedy for another loop. I suggest playing as a killer more because clearly survivor isn't your forte.

Imagine whining about getting M1 when that's the best thing you could ask for against one shot killers, That just means more distance.

  • Billy is all about Mind games though? Only reason you can instantly cancel chainsaw is the killer baited you out(Mindgame) by just simply bringing out his chainsaw for a split second lmfao

  • BBQ is better than Discordance simply due to the fact that it has double bp capabilities.

Sorry, man more information doesn't pay the bills. If you want to use low tier killer consistently you'll need some money.

  • @Hailoh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967654#Comment_967654

    I. I never believed in the theory of buffing the killer when a SWF is in the match. The first problem is that the type of buff would have to be really unorthodox to reasonably work, because few things would be universal for most killers. You could buff movement speed, but that's not really going to help a killer like the Nurse. You could reduce power cooldown time, but how would that help the Trapper? You could let the killer see every survivor's aura at any given moment, but then aura reading perks would be near-useless. Not to mention that once you buff a killer too much, it could have repercussions on the length of chases, and if the chases are too short, then what's the point in having them? But let's just say you find the best "boost" to give the killer. This certainly stops fully-optimal SWF in their tracks, but this severely hinders SWF that are just trying to have some plain fun. The purple ranks that brought their new friend who just got the game. The full Head-On squad. The group of people who are trying to win, but aren't spewing commands at eachother the whole match. This change would make casual SWF a thing of the past, and force survivors into a sweaty, competitive mess.

II. There's actually a good reason to balance around SWF. Like I said earlier, as it currently stands, reasonably changing SWF requires changing survivors as a whole, which would inadvertently change solo survivor.

III. Balancing the game around randoms is good for a casual game, but squashes any competitive potential into the ground. Tournaments and ESports wouldn't really be an option with this mentality, and that's not good for the game's growth. At least in my eyes, this would make the game a lot more boring. There should always be the option to play casually OR competitively. Having one or the other isn't enough.

IV. I sort of agree, and I sort of disagree. In survivor's current state, yes. Giving every survivor the ability to communicate with one another would give them a huge, undeniable advantage, and would make the game really difficult for the killer. But I wrote this with the mindset that survivors would get nerfed overall, with the compensation of having communication. These nerfs would have less impact on solo survivor, but more impact on SWF (Which is what we're after.). The devs could increase repair time, reduce the number of pallets on the map, really anything. That's not my place to say, I'm not trying to make the point of what that nerf would be, as that's a completely different post that I am nowhere near qualified to create.

    I. Sorry, but 3-4 man rates are low. Why we have to balance the majority of players to an unfair group is even more of a no to me. I'll take buffing the killer against SWF over changing the game's entire balance because of the minority.

Buff aren't exclusive to changing numbers in Killer mechanics it could be something else. Maybe a second offering with it's own special buffs for the killer to personally choose from. Be it, Sixth gen, A fifth perk, More bloodpoints to compensate for going against these guys. That's just an idea on top of my head, Not my job to think of fixes for the game but I can say that they should think of a different balance when a killer goes against a 3-4 Man.

Note that I said 3-4 man because anything below that number is perfectly fine and doesn't deserve any buffs for the killer. I also don't care if you're having fun, I highly doubt you keep your lips closed for information when the team needs it no? When you have communication you're inevitably going to use it to spread information to the rest of the gang.

II. Again as I mentioned. Why change everyone when the game at it's current state IS balanced for the most part. The balance assumes that there is no communication for the survivors. You literally have to rework most of the game's balance just because of a low percentage in the player base.

III.Game is not Esport material. You know what happened to a game that's a 1 v 4 that the devs thought their game was Esport material? It died. That's evolve. Dead by daylight is casual competitive, You can have competitive aspects to it but thinking its going to be up there with actual Competitive games like Dota 2 or whatever is hilarious. When the game has serious balance issues with SWF. It's not gonna work.

IV. So what nerf are you suggesting? Assuming communication gets handed to everyone. What are you gonna suggest to make it even for the killer? There's only so much you could do with the game vanilla. You would have to rework the game from the ground up so that the entire game is built around communication in mind which is the exact opposite of the current state of DBD.

  • Or you change the conditions when you're against a 3-4 man teams. Slap some boost for the killer when the game detects its a full party and you're golden.

There's literally no reason to balance either teams around SWF and just serves to disrupt everything, Treat it as a separate entity. When the game is balanced for the most part when a team of randoms is against a killer.

Giving in game microphone access to everyone would destroy the killer permanently, A killer has to work with the assumption that he could disrupt information that's getting thrown around the game. This is not CSGO, This is a 1 v 4 game, Mate.

  • @NMCKE said:

I play both sides, and even this is ridiculous:

    https://xboxclips.com/NMCKE/db92368e-d0d5-4fcd-8fc9-c9818fa1ff0b

If the survivor's only option is to just die then something is definitely wrong, your odds should never be reduced to impossible because simply, we don't know why the survivor team lost.

So what's wrong with it? This is a 4 v 1 game. Your odds of escaping should be decreasing the lesser your number is and the killer becomes more of a threat, The fact that you even got a 50-50 hatch and still want a 50-50 gate is the one that's ridiculous. Why the killer has to roll the dice TWICE despite demolishing the opposite team is beyond me.

Again, Take the L. None of you deserved to escape in that scenario. Do your best to farm points, You should get a pip if you were actually was an asset in that match.

  • Yes. Your team played poorly. Why should the killer be punished with RNG? Be happy you got another chance with hatch and another chance with exit gates you don't deserve.

  • Any suggestion to somehow extend Generator time can go get Flashlight blinded.

A new secondary objective on higher ranks or go home. No wants to hold damn left click either but we have to, Ya know?

  • I mean it would be weird if everyone literally has the same measurements, no? Blendette should be as fat as Jeff.

About the noise, Either lore friendly that some survivors are that tolerant to paint hence Nancy screams as if she's in an adult video lol or it's to cope with the fact that Ace is tall so he has to make up for it with a nearly built in Iron will, Maybe it's a combination of both who knows.

  • Good number. Survivor doesn't deserve another chance to get out, They already had that with Hatch. Take the L.

  • Or just stop thinking rank actually matter(It doesn't).

  • Oh yeah that. Always saw that window but never once used it in my whole DBD life since it's such a death trap. Only absolute madman use it, Well maybe if you had balanced landing but does it even trigger from that height?

  • Nah man that's my funeral outfit for attending Deathgarden

  • People said that two years ago lol and DBD was in an even worse state. It was practically a broken mess.

If the game would have died it would have done so a long time ago not now when the game is arguably in the best state it has ever been.

On Topic, Devs need to fix some maps, Remove or change how keys and Moris work and add a way for killers to do a dent against SWF. Broken ass dedicated servers and it's solid.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117124/window-lunges

Vault speed builds rarely compensate for Dedicated Servers. It is really a placebo, go look up the numbers and how fast it actually speeds it up.

I did and its working. It reduced the BS window lunges I constantly got prior to using that build even get away with some medium vaults now.Numbers looks bad on paper and I thought that such a slight boost is useless in reality but you'll notice the difference when you use it actually use it in game.

There's also a lot of factors to consider inside an actual chase to contribute to safe vault so there's that. Be it latency, Distances from the windows, When and where the killer started reacting then lunging, etc so it's hard to say. But I'll go with my experience with running the build for an entire week. It worked wonders.

  • Only change is instead of three hatchet make it so it's only two with that purple belt and that's me being compromising for other people who can't cope with her. Iri Heads are balanced. People need to realize how much leeway you have against a 110 movement speed killer and the fact that she doesn't have Wind up add ons.

The only real nerf she needs is the bonkers hitbox on her hatchet clipping you when you're out of sight.

Don't forget perks and items that outright hard-counter certain killer powers. Urban evasion and/or flashlight making Hag obsolete. Calm Spirit makes Doc an M1 killer. Spine Chill hard counters stealth killers and Spirit.

Wow they're removing exhaustion add on? Lmfao I'm a survivor main and that's a big yikes. Those killer are either garbage enough already or has a high skill cap. Exhaustion is the only thing that makes them have some threat except ultra rare add ons of course

Devs added that part so it would make it easier for killers to do that Tractor tech.

  • From what I've heard Doc is getting buff?

Though as far as perks go, Go get Clown. Pop goes the weasel is good if you don't like Ruin. Monitor and abuse from Doc is also good for some killers and getting drop on stealthy survivors.
