I've heard plenty of positive feedback saying gameplay has felt pretty good..hence why I dont just take your word for it in this case

Those changes must be truly unblieveable, if i even get accused of lying (in front of the devs and hundreds of players btw)

Also for you: Go on the PTB, ckeck it out, come back later.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

These entitled survivor mains. You are NOT entitled to survive. Killers however ARE entitled to kill.

Just adapt and git gud. Bring Yuis perk so you can pick pallets back up. I don’t see a problem here.

Now watch out for my instasaw hillbilly with spirit fury ending and noed. Better rush those gens and totems boy.

    This was sarcasm, right?

The rank 25 killer brigade here on this form makes me doubt sometimes, so i have to ask this (hopefully) really stupid question.

  • @Nurgling7 said:

Joke's on you. No changes have been done to Gas Haven in the PTB.

As for Thomson House, there are plenty of crazy pallets still, just not enough to run the killer for 10 minutes anymore.

Go on the ######### ptb and check it out on yourself. If my adobe would not have expired, i would have uploaded a video for you. Trust me, i am not kidding. But if you dont believe, go on the ptb.

  • @immortalls96 said:

The point of the update was to weaken these maps..a pallet reduction is to be expected..the point is to force conservation of resources instead of mindless psllet throws..and honestly I imagine theres a tad bit of exaggeration here

There is no exaggeration. Go on the PTB and try it out yourself. I scanned the whole maps like 3 times, recorded everything and checked really carefully.

Fixing pseudo-infinites by making them death traps just tilts the problem the other way.

This variation exists for a reason: To distract how terrible the other version is aswell.

By the way, simple solution to that: Switch the pallet and the doorway. Done.

So they're fixing survivors from being fundamentally broken and you're whining about that.

The video you just showed is a pretty much and endorsement way hardcore nerf needed.

For example looks at the preschool were ridiculous.

It took no effort or no skill as long as you were looking be outside fence of the preschool you could essentially burnout a good 30- 40 seconds of The Killers time for free.

Is without using skill or a pallet. Now there's a lot more mind game in the areas you have to know what you're doing it's not just run around the building for free.

For example the killer has a doorway he could cut me off with let me try to trick him to think I'm going one way then double back.

This is an interactive element you guys are both playing mind games with each other the winner will either get the hit and the down or escape.

Before there was little to no interactive element most of these Loops were pretty much consisted of play follow the leader until bloodlust or window blocks helps you.

Once the maps have been balanced out you can actually start removing elements like bloodlust and window blocking

Apparently the only fundamentally broken survivors are in your games, in mine they die most of the time. Maybe Europe on R1 is just a place with only potatos.

Yes, the video is just to show you how broken survivors were. If you read the whole conversation, you would understand the context behind that and you would not need to basicly quoting me.

Yes, preschool for example had a really strong and mindless loop. Where did i say anything else? Some or even most godloops are okay to get fixed. But again, why change anything beyond that? Why reduce pallets or make other loops weaker? Its not neccessary, simply because survivors are NOT fundamentally stronger.

The game is actually in a decent spot right now, but for 2 groups of people: Bad survivors and bad killers. Guess balancing is for bad people now.

Maybe if you read the last two patches, you'd know, so stop acting like survivors deserve more because OP can't accept the fact that this update was in honour of killers.

Yes i forgot. Survivors got basicly their toolboxes deleted. What an amazing buff for survivors!

Or are you talking about hook sabo which is completly useless because of more hooks and +1 extra dropping added?

    thats how much they work.jpg

Or are you talking about the amazing map we got, you know, the most killer sided map ever created with deadzones, breakable walls and silly unsafe loops... within deadzones?

Or are you talking about breakable walls, which are obviously totally survivor sided?

Or the addon changes for the doctor which made him even stronger.. by far? If you would play him and try out some stuff, you would actually know how good they are now.

I pretty much know all the patchnotes by heart, there is nothing in these patches that would favour survivors, at least nothing that is even close to significant or on par with killer buffs at the same time.

Not even the Ruin change was a big nerf, it was always only a great perk for rank 20-5 and ######### red ranks killers... you knew instantly when you were in a chase with a ruin billy for example and why he was using it.. he was just bad at the game. Good killers never needed ruin in first place. Even I won many of my games on R1 with clown and bubba without ruin, and i am for sure not a pro-killer.

Also keep in mind that ruin got cleansed in 30-60 seconds on better ranks anyway (another reason weak killers came to the forum and complained about bad totem spawns).

Pop and Corrupt were ALWAYS the better perk, but i guess people like you wont have noticed that because its so hard to actually adjust and find ways to succeed.

well you jsutify why survivor got nerfed, they were beyound broken while killer where getting nerfed

Yes, they were beyond broken, i never denied that. It is good that most of this stuff got fixed, but it is also time now to realise when survivor nerfs are enough. When you read this forum, you mostly read "payback" posts of salty killers now, since they clearly have the upper hand when the upcoming patch is live.

God loops should be nerfed (i dont agree with all of the godloop nerfs, some are just too much and are close to not even effective loopable anymore), and i am also on board with the toolbox nerf and the coop genspeed / skillcheck nerf. But everything beyond that is not justified anymore.

I repeat myself: Ballance over "payback because 2016"

Oh no, they changed Ruin! Wow, its so hard on the killers. Its not like there have bean a million nerfs to survivors. Here, let me show you how much they "buffed" survivors:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE

Get good.

The fact, that this guy has 10 upvotes, shows how trash many killermains actually are.

  • They should not delete them, but Ebony and Ivory both have to get nerfed. They are simply breaking the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1198644#Comment_1198644

Because right now having a small change here and there won't bring any real balance to the game. There trying to prevent endless looping by jungle gym into LT wall into a god loop and repeat. They are slowing gen speeds because it's being acknowledged that they are currently an issue. Maps are being mass reworked because of massive imbalances. Plus one or 2 map reworks a year is pointless when 4 are added every year.

After the ruin change a lot of killer's left or switched sides. The new killers leave due to how imbalanced it is. Even though killers have never been in a better spot with all the changes your losing a portion of the playerbase because of design flaws. With the devs currently trying to figure out methods for fixing this which a lot of the community believes to be great skill checks, gen speeds, and map designs. Though I haven't seen great skill checks mentiond in a long time. This is an attempt to move into a balanced direction.

Where do you have this knowledge, that killers are leaving? For me it takes longer to get a killer game, which is a good indicator that there are currently more then enough killers around. On the other side, i have a survivor lobby almost instantly.

Also, i heavly disagree that killers are so busted right now and drastic changes are needed. When i look at those upcoming changes, i wonder how i might NOT get a 4K ever again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1196269#Comment_1196269

They're not nerfing gens. They're encouraging good gen rushers. Great checks give 2% instead of 1% progression now. Good players buff.

They're also only slowing gens if multiple people are on it. Encouraging you to go to youe own gen, aka everyone on a gen alone, gen rushing.

This is gonna get fun REAL quick...

    What?

Greats give 2% now, and they nerf them down to 1%. Thats not a buff, thats a nerf in my book but okay..

They are not only slowing down gens for multible people, they nerf plenty of other things aswell (Loops, Godwindows, map size, windows etc).

  • @ad19970 said:

I don't see how those windows will be useless. The walls besides the windows are still big enough to gain distance to the killer.

I am also going to guess they are changing the layout of Wrecker's Yard more so than the size. I'm hopeful that the basement might not be in the exact middle anymore.

Also, many maps have a lot of safe loops, and some of them can chain into each other, so them changing some tiles on those maps is a good thing. They are mainly just making sure killers have more consistent counterplay no matter which map they are on, which they need.

The nerfs to gens are very small, but will be noticeable. But again, I think they will be healthy for the game to balance out the gameplay for killers as well, and give them just a tad bit more time to have a chance to apply enough map and gen pressure.

Whether a few of the top tier killers might need some small nerfs is something that can then be seen, though I don't think these changes will make any killer op. If anything I could maybe see a small nerf to Freddy or Hillbilly being needed though, at least once most maps are balanced. Not sure about that though.

Let me put it in this way:

The realitiy is, that really good killers usually have the upper hand and only struggle against extremly good and well organized Teams. I am a killer aswell, and most of the time the only case i loose is exactly this scenario. Against solo players, a good killer will win most of the time unless he is really doing bad in this certain game.

Lets say, a okayish but not great killer verses 4 decent solo players or maybe 2 solo and one duo team, which is in most of the matches in red ranks the case. Those games can go both ways and are ballanced as far as it can get.

Now the point: Just changing one defense will hurt those survivors a lot! The god loops safed a survivor 30 seconds for example, but the killer was still able to have a decent chance to win. Now with the godloop change, survivors can not have the upper hand anymore, since this is a hugh interrupt for ballancing. Gaininig an extra 30 seconds every chase is just massive.

Having this one change might be still okay for survivors, they are definitly not on par anymore with the killer, but they still have a chance to succeed, evne tho the killer is the favourite now.

    Now:

Increasing genspeed is minor, those 1% nerf for skillchecks might not be a big deal, but it is something.

Changing map sizes, even tho the would be only like 5% smaller is not a big deal, but it is something.

Changing and making loops weaker might not be the end of the world, but it is something.

Reducing pallets or tweaking loops might not be the end of the world if this would be the only nerf, but it is something.

    etc etc

All this small to semi-big changes combined are just a really gigantic change to ballancing, which is totally unneccessary. Killers dont need GIGANTIC changes, because it is defniitly not the case that Survivors are extremly overpowered.

I am well aware that i have not seen these changes, but i and probably also you know the devs. They dont do "small little tiny mini changes" ... they take out the axe and cut the tree the most possbile insensitive way. Look at instaheals, look at toolboxes, look at legion, look at MoM look at Ruin, look at Spirit etc. I mean, Look at the screenshots and tell me this is not a really big nerf to those godloops.

I really hope i am totally wrong, but lets face it, the past showed different.

So my question stays: Why are devs not a little bit more sensitive and just do one change and then see how this goes instead of going completly rampage?

  • @CallMeLs said:

In the screenshots They legit moved the window like 2 ft from where they were before, the god loops will still exist, none of these minor chances help the killer in any capacity they’re way too small to. Severe underkill.

Hm? 🤨 There is a gigantic whole next to the window. While in the past you could loop this for 30 seconds + it is not loopable at all anymore.

I don’t think you understand what jumping the shark means. The phrase is supposed to be in reference for an entertainment medium hitting its peak and trying to stay relevant far longer than it should. It originated from the show Happy Days reaching its peak after having one of its characters jump a shark as a daredevil stunt and the realization that the writers had run out of ideas. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark

I am aware of that, and see, so are you, since you try to correct me, knowing what i actually mean. So the phrase works :)

  • @inferjus said:

Just split and keep pressure on the killer. It's better anyway than just stacking at one gen.

Yes thats true, but nerfing gens is just one of about 10 different nerfs they are planning. 1-2 nerfs like i mentioned are neccessary, but not all of them.

  • @Hoodied said:

    I can answer this

Killers bring up keys when mori's are mentioned as they do the same thing almost

Mori's deliver HUGE pressure, Key's take away HUGE pressure by having 1-4 survivors escaping through hatch

Both equally powerful, simple changes can be done to them to make them still useful

Ebony Mori- All survivors must be hooked once before you can mori any survivor

    Ivory-Same as before

    Cypress-Base kit

Keys- give a process to opening hatch, sort of like working on an exit gate. It being instant can make the killer only watch as the survivor gets out without punishment

Simple balance changes to make both weaker, while making them useful still. People have mentioned the 2 hook idea for Mori's but then they will become almost useless as its safer to just hook the survivor for the sacrifice.

Both equaly powerful? Cound not be further from the truth.

As @Gonourakuto rightfully says: A key means nothing for pressure, why should it? Your point makes no sense. But a mori is a freewin AND puts a lot of pressure on the survivors, especially when they are downed. It is a really simple concept: Down one, hook him, tunnel him. The game is technically over in 2 minutes if the killer is not a super-potato (just for record, you can not win a 3v1 if there are multible gens to do). All the survivors can hope for is that the killer is not a douchbag and wont tunnel.

So to answer the question the only neutral and legit way: Moris are of course and without any slight doubt WAY more powerful then keys and can not even compared. You bring a red mori, you automatically win unless you have 40° fever and beeing drunk at the same time. A key can have impact from time to time at best, but thats it.

I have been "key'd" by 3 people one time so far and maybe 2-3 times by 2 people in like 5K killer games, while an ebony mori on a decent killer is a free win 9/10 times if he plays like an ass. I still miss the 4 people escape the hatch achievement (i admit i dont neccessary try hard) and it is safe to say i am at least a decent survivor.

  • @Nurgling7 said:

There are hardly any killers playing red ranks. Survivor ques take 5-10 minutes and killer ques are instant.

  • The best perk settup you can run imho is:

    • Deadhard
    • Spine Chill
    • Resillience
    • Iron Will

    Or:

    • Dead Hard
    • Spine Chill
    • Irion Will
    • DS
  • You dont want the free hits? Just take the bloodpoints.

Autodidact... oh man i want to love this perk, but it is currently just not that good. The time it takes for you to get those 5 stacks... if you even succeed might take until endgame and then there is a very good chance you dont need it anymore (or even worse, you need it but you dont get skillchecks, which happens to me so often)

@Exerlin Unbreakable has no effect if the killer doesn't slug you, so I can't give it S.

@xEa I find empathy gives more info than bond. (Who killer is chasing, who needs a heal, who can heal you thats also injured) Head On & Breakout can be deadly on organizaed SWF. Self-care provides an ability to heal without a medkit that only one other perk can do (being Inner Strength). I find OoO to be a gamble (with who killer is & their skill level). Breakdown in better with the new sabo meta, plus seeing the killer's aura is always a plus. MoM requires too much for so little a reward. Why use Distortion when you can just hop in a locker. Red Herring is meh, too early to fully decide. And Small Game is a bias of mine. It's what I use to Hex hunt. Just my explanations for why I placed these perks you mentioned where I did.

@CheersTC Autodidact is only good in medic builds (if skill checks work in your favor). Aftercare is good, but Empathy & Bond are far superior.

@Jameson Sprint Burst can always be used, while Lithe requires that something to vault. Sprint Burst also can be saved until the middle of a chase (usually pulled off by more experienced survivors). For Fixated/Better Together, they provide an ability that can benefit new players the most (I also said they shouldn't have to be paid for). Spine Chill is still useful even for experienced players, hence why it's not a new player perk. And BL, Botany, & Resilience all provide something really useful to the survivor which why they are A. BL is the only one I could possibly see being lower since it is map dependent.

@BloodMoneyMerc Thank you for the response!

Bond gives you the info you need around you. It is not neccessary interesting if the killer is chasing someone on the other side of the map. Actually, bond even gives you that info since you can simply make conclusions off the info you have. Bond is definitly the better perk imho, the radius is just really big.

The ability to heal yourself is only in rare situations neccessary. Not worth a perkslot, but also not terrible if you use it because it makes you feel more confortable.

OoO is indeed a gamble, but the odds are definitly in your favour when you use it. It is also the ultimate god tier perk vs Freddy.

Breakdown.. well i dont see a sabo meta right now tbh. It got buffed, but hardly any is using it, neither do it. The effect you get from breakdown is indeed not bad, but i dont see this perk as good as you, opinions i guess ;)

MoM really requires more then it should, but on the other side, with the protection hit changes, you can at least get it from time to time. It is not a A Tier perk, but also not F Tier.

Distortions cruicial effect are the scratchmarks, not the aura reading, thats why i think it is not as bad as many thing. No great, but also not bad.

Previously made one on killer perks, so here is the survivor perk installment. Again, best to worst is in order from left to right within tiers. Here are how the tiers can be seen in my perspective:

S - The "meta" perks, best of the best

A - Great perks, helpful in most cases or have potential to shake up the momentum in the match

B - Good perks, serve their purpose but are often overlooked for better perks

C - Mediocre perks, have a purpose but aren't preferred or are too situational

D - Bad perks, very minimal potential, in need of some QoL changes

    F - Perks that need a rework/overhaul

New Player Perks - not being ranked as I feel these are perks are essential in acquainting new players with DBD. (Should not be teachables in my opinion)

Leave your thoughts below. Keep it peaceful & constructive. If you want to make your own, the link to my tierlist is:

    https://tiermaker.com/create/dead-by-daylight-survivor-perks-patch-360-312922

That is a really cool list, i especially like that you have an extra tier for new players.

Yet, some placements are a bit odd, i give you my opinion:

    • Breakout A Tier? Is it that good? I had only mixed games with it.
    • Empaphy A Tier but Bond B Tier. That cant be right.
    • Head On is overrated i think. It is a fun perk, but not that great. I would place it in B or C
    • Selfcare. I mean it is not complete F Tier trash like many say, but A tier? Rather B or C Tier in my opinion
    • Object of Obsession only C Tier? Hm, i get that there is some downside to that perk, especially when versing a stealthy, but still it should be at least B Tier, if not even A Tier.
    • Breaktdown B Tier? What makes you think this perk has that much value?
    • Mettle of Man F Tier is a bit hard on it. I think it is a D Perk after the reworked protection hit changes.
    • Distortion D Tier, i would put it in C.
    • Red Herring sounds so good on paper, but it is actually not that useful. Probably only D Tier, but i have to play it more often.
    • Last but not least: Small Game A Tier? This is your only really big booboo. It only helps you finding totems (and versus the trapper a bit, but acutally not really tho) which should be no problem even without a perk PLUS there are even better alternatives. Look at Detectives Hunch, you placed it only in C Tier - a way better perk for finding totem (on top of that you get other benefits aswell which you wont get with Small game.

    Other then that, good job.

    Kind regards

So im Going to rant a bit

Whenever i bought the game on steam three years ago i loved the game. it was somewhat scary and i was a survivor main at the time, the killer was scary and overpowering "what people want in a horror game" and it felt authentic and unique. but over these 3 years i have watched the game get progressively worse like legit every update causes the killer to get nerfed in some way. As a horror game the killer should be a threat. Honestly as a survivor the game is way to easy if the killer finds you its not a threat just find a palet and loop them until they dc. survivors should get a major nerf.

one there should be unsafe loops on every map like for instance the loops should be like the ones on Hawkins laboratory. there pretty balanced and counter able,

next survivors should have a stamina bar and exhaustion perks should drain this bar the only way to fill this is to walk or sit idle.

    killers should vault faster.

    make killer perks powerful again

    give killers good addons.

im sorry for completely downing your game but i miss having fun playing both sides.

You are probably new to the game, arent you?

  • @Deadman316 said:

Yep, here's another debate about this, but I want to add a bit more insight from my point of view. I want to first say that all Mori's are not bad, the Cypress and Ivory are awesome in my opinion. The Ebony is the one that's a bit broken. The Ebony Mori is way more powerful than keys, but again, the rest of them are fine. Here's why the Ebony is way stronger in my opinion (I'm talking about the console versions)...

A survivor gets hooked, then freed. They immediately get hooked again and it's Ebony time, they're done and the rest of the group is at a disadvantage. Now, survivors have to be very skilled at chases and looping to avoid being caught after being hooked, which is not easy to do. Gen rushing is really the only counter to it, but with Toolboxes being nerfed, it's not that easy anymore.

With the key, you have to repair a certain number of gens to even see the hatch, which if all survivors are alive, 4 gens would have to be repaired (correct if I'm wrong please). Then, you have to find the hatch, so on top of being hunted and anything else that you want to do, you have to risk being chased by the killer to find it. There's no guarantee that a survivor will even find it in time, but just the amount of overall time to get to that point is a much difficult feat to accomplish.

In summary, Ebony Mori - hook, kill again, Mori. Key - repair required number of gens, easter egg hunt for hatch, leave. Which seems easier to you? Killers can play pretty much a whole trial to kill survivors until (if) the hatch becomes an option, whereas the survivor's match can end in 3 minutes with the use of an Ebony Mori. The key is not guaranteed nor does it break the game, where the Ebony is and does unless the last survivor hasn't been hooked.

Would like to hear you guy's feedback on this. Let's have a rational debate.

I completly disagree with your opinion, that Ivory is fine. It has more or less the same effect as Ebony: Get one killer super early in the game. If you are a somewhat decent killer (dont have to be amazing) you can not (!) loose a 3v1 in Dead by daylight when there are multible gens to do.

Beeing able to kill all the other survivors with ebony is just a bonus, Ivory is technically a free win aswell. At least on higher skilllevel.

This tierlist is seperated from the power ratings, they are not connected, I just wrote them in the order of the tierlist cuz its easier to keep them in mind for me like that. I included in the tierlist also brown up to green addons to the Killers and also perks. The Killers are getting rated from a high skill cap and player who can use the most of the potential of the Killer. Also I rated those Killers with a mindset where this Killer will play against decent to good survivors who loop efficiant and finish all gens in 5-8min average if you dont stop them well enough.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/762/WHTHT228IKMW.png

    >Power Ratings<

Keep in mind that I am rating here the base power without addons or perks. Only the Killer stats are included (base movementspeed and terror radius). Quick explanation to the 4 rate sections, Lethality: How deadly the power is, Detection: How well you can find survivors or manage to see or hear them, Mobility: How fast you can travel around the map to patrol gens or close the gap between you and survivors, Stall: How well you slow down the game by forcing survivors to heal or do something else (Example: Against oni you kinda force survivors to heal because they want to prevent oni from getting more blood in the early game).

    Lethality, Detection, Mobility and Stall

    Nurse:

    • Lethality - 10/10
    • Detection - 3/10
    • Mobility - 7/10

Thanks for reading if you made it that far!

That is not a bad list.

    My 2 cents:

Nurse should be on her own tier, she is still miles ahead of any other killer. Needs a lot of practice but those who are good, just win every game with her.

I would put Freddy above Huntress, Deathslinger belongs to A Tier, Doctor and Hag are better then Ghostface, Demo and Plague should be below trapper.

    The rest is okay :)

  • Freddy is too strong a bit, not overpowered as Nurse but he definitly needs some minor nerfs.

You don’t have to do all 5 gens for a key to be used the more in the team that die the less gems need to be done before the hatch appears. So if you team isn’t that good you can use a key without doing much. When a killer takes out 3 of 4 and they only got two gens done and the killer closes the hatch but it gets opened with a key that’s a free win. Survivors did little killer did everything they were supposed to and yes I’ve seen that happen from both sides.

That only if everyone is alive. Only 4 gens are needed for three survivors. Three gens need to be done for two and well a single survivor left, it doesn't matter how many gens are done, the hatch will spawn if only a single survivor is left.

I am well aware of that, but again, this is far from almost no effort.

Sidenote: One of the achievements i still miss is 4 people escape through hatch. While i have to admit i almost never bring a key, in those probably 10.000 games as survivor, it should have at least happen a few times, but it did not. On the other side, how often does a killer get a 4K with an ebony? Honestly, most of the time if he brings one. It is so easy to pull off.

I also almost never see someone of my team escpae with a key, maybe once in 20 games, if even. And as a killer, this is also not happening to me at all. I deeply remember this one game where 3 people escaped with a key. I was playing the Pig on Groaning Storehouse and the hatch was in the middle of the street...this is over a year ago, it never happend again. Every once in a while there is maybe one person that escapes with a key, but at that point, the game was already won for me, so i could not care less.

Keys might need some adjustments, since apparently they are a problem for some people for whatever reason, so a 5 seconds delay before you can open it would not be the end of the world for survivors. On the other side... again.. we have moris, and those are really gamebreaking.

What do you think about that?

  • Survivors have to do all 5 Generators to be able to use a key... that is not exactly "not doing anything". Why do people treat the key like it is a free win?

On top of that, it is surprising me when Killer mains complain about a key when they have Ebony Mori. That thing is basicly a free win, but not the key (down one person, tunnel him off the hook, make the game early a unwinable 3v1 situation, gg)

  • Nice! I will get my 4Ks every round even faster now lol 😅

  • The next Killer will be Slender Man.

Reason: They made look it like an april fools joke, but it actually was not!

Umm I think you got it wrong, a simple hat isn’t fortnite. You seem like a child that loves that game

    Go play fortnite then

  • The porch is higher, pretty sure.

You can not get the "jump from a great high" challange done when jumping off one of these rocks, but you get it when you jump off the porch.

    Hi

I've never played the game before (only watched streams) but finally I'm about to buy the game and I want to purchase it with a chapter. Which one should be the best for a newbie? I really liked the Huntress, but I'm not sure if I can handle her in the future

Hello, it depends which role you are most interested in.

If you are mostly interested in playing Survivor, definitly get "Sparks of Madness" (Doctor DLC) because of Feng Min.

Her Perks are ideal for every beginner:

    • Lithe is the best beginners exhaustion Perk and very strong too.
    • Technician is the absolute perfect perk for every starter, since you will have some struggle to hit those skillchecks. This perk will help you out greatly.
    • Alert is also great overall but especially for beginners. Having those aura reads all the time, will help a lot!

Her sice is also very small, so she is harder to see then most of the male survivors.

Also: The Doctor is a very good killer for you. He is very good in finding survivors due to his ability, and this is what you will struggle most as a beginner.

If you want to play killer mainly.. Leatherface aka The Cannibal is by far the optimal one!

    • He is the perfect killer to start with due to his ability. It cant be more straight forward then Leatherface
    • He has the most important Killer perk for you: BBQ & Chilli! 100% more Bloodpoints, thats what you need!

Good luck and escpecially have fun in DBD

  • I like the idea, but 320 seconds is too much.

I see 2 possibilitys: Make the timer shorter or let it last for 5 minutes, but after the 5 minutes, all hex totems become dull totems.

    Clown, Legion, Oni or Deathslinger.

I already have the good perks of clown and legion.

-Clown can be good agaisn those annoying looper survivors, but is really a good killer?

-Ppl always say that legion is one of the weakest killer, but when I play agaisn him he is annoying, much waste of time healing.

-Oni only have the demon fury, but is really useful? survivors can hide. And his perks are bad.

-Deathslinger is slow and his shoots can be dodged, seems weak, of his perks maybe Gearhead can be good.

    So recomendations?

Alright, first lets talk about perks:

Clown has POP and Bamboozle, both exzellent perks for most killers. His 3rd perk, Coulrophobia is pretty bad undfortunatly. Still, Pop and Bamboozle are that good, i can not rate Clowns perks lower then: 8,5/10

Legion has Discordance, also a fantastic perk for almost every killer. Mad Grit and Iron Maiden are mediocre btw bad. More memeish then effective. Still, Discordance safes the day, but hey.. look at the shrine of secrets. 6,5/10

Oni's Nemesis Perk pairs very good with Safe the best for last. Blood Echo and Zanshin are both kinda bad. Really not spectaculas perks. 3/10

Deathslinger: All 3 Perks are mediocre in my opinion and situational 4,5/10

Fun is the next category. Very subjective obviously

Clown is kinda fun for me, because i like a good challange. His ability is not super effective BUT it is really a great feeling when hitting difficult bottle throws: I like the Clown, but i dont love him. 7/10

Legion is kinda fun to play in my opinion but not as satisfying as many other killers. His ability is a very interesting concept tho, thats why i still think he is a 7/10.

Oni is for me the most fun to play killer of those 4. His ability is just great - zooming around the map with lightspeed and downing survivovrs in the prozess is just great. He might be kinda like Billy, but his movement is totally different. I give him at least a 8/10.

Deathslinger is very satisfying and for many people a lot of fun to play as. I dont play him to much, since i hate that dude. But that is just me. Personally i would give him a 2/10, but he is loved throught the community.

    Last but not least: Effectiveness:

Clown: Many say he is the worst. I agree he is bad, but i still think that you should be able to win most of your games if you do well with him. 5/10

Legion: Pretty much the same as Clown. I think he is one of the weaker killers, but nethertheless Legion is capeable to do the Job. 5/10

Oni: Strong, but not overpowered. Can snowball like no other killer. Might take a while to stack up your ability, but once you got it, the game is on. 8/10

Deathslinger: You come directly from CS GO and you were famous for your sick AWP quckscope kills in Global Elite Rank? Then congratz, you just beat Dead by Daylight. He might get a bit genrushed tho, but his chase potential is almost on Nurse Level. 8,5/10.

  • I like most of them, but if i have to pick one, it is MacMillan Estate.

This is the first time that I've actually taken a moment to look at the DBD forums, and I'm honestly shocked at how many people are complaining about this game's imbalance without the Development Team having fixed some of the more glaring issues.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with funding, but considering that some posts I've read are addressing issues that have been around for YEARS, I think I'll have to abandon the game, for now.

This is not a pity post, but more so to spread awareness that DBD's player base will apparently continue to slowly die out due to the lack of proper game design being employed.

I've seen so many great suggestions by YouTubers and even on these forums, but the Dev Team seems to notoriously cater only to one demographic, not realizing that by buffing/nerfing the correct areas of BOTH Survivors AND Killers, it will result in an overall more enjoyable experience for everyone.

This is not rocket science; I have no clue how anyone on the Dev Team still has a job, to be entirely frank.

Best of luck to you all, DBD. Was fun while it lasted.

Which issues are you talking about? Let us know please.

  • I tested those addons, and carters notes without any extra addon is actually not THAT bad (still very strong, but not uncounterable). It really gets nasty when mixed with a range addon, especially overpowered (!) with Electrode.

Dead devs, i know this is just a minor thing and you have probably bigger problems then fixing a few addons, but you still should put this on your list.

In my opinion, both Carters Notes and the range addons need a small nerf. I already suggested the Carters Notes nerf above, with range it is rather simple: Reduce the range a bit.

Mouldy Electrode: 1 Meter instead of 2

Polished Electrode: 2 Meters instead of 3

    High-Stimulus Electrode: 3 Meters instead of 4

I was playing solo. In this situation pls tell me how this is fair ? The only reason he even got one kill at all was because of noed but still the gens went so fast “just pressure gens” dosnt work because people would have gotten on another gen if he chased someone there was nothing he could have done here

Let me also toss in a video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10wQRIKO1Y&t=3s

  • For me it was leatherface. Took me 4-5 trys. Plague was also difficult but for me nothing compared to Bubba. The rest was 1-2 tries, but i have not done Legion and i think Nurse so far, so lets see how those go.

  • It is true what you say, they definitly should make it harder to rank up as a survivor.

  • @davefromthegrave said:

I've been playing for a few months now, rank 2-3 survivor. I honestly don't know how this game is supposed to be balanced. Killer wins almost 100% of the time in higher ranks.

As an example, the last game I played it was against freddy, indoor map. He had HEX: RUIN and no one could do a generator, no one could escape. How does the killer have fun when there is no challange?

Every other game also, zero survivors escaped, except one hatch escape.

I probably wont play much longer. Not that the game devs probably care. You who are reading wont care, I know. I'm simply confused as to how this game is supposed to work?

First of all, you play this game a few months now, so you are probably, even tho you might see it different, a noob. Rank does not matter that much, i boosted someone who was basicly a rank 20 to rank 1 within 2 weeks btw. Dont fool yourself by thinking you are actually good when you reach red ranks as a survivor, it is really easy unfortunatly (it took me 2 weeks to get it, no braging but it is the truth).

Second, no! Killers dont win 100% of their games in red ranks, not even close. If you are a good survivor, you actually should have a decent outcome. It is definitly not as bad as many killer mains here claim, but you have to put some effort into it to become a decent killer. Also, getting better as survivor takes time, but once you are there you will understand what i mean.

You SHOULD play much longer my friend and you definitly should not give up. Stop complaining about that killers are op because they are not, trust me.

Simple Advice: Get better at the game. Come back in half a year, read your own posting again and i promise, your opinion will not be the same anymore, at least very likely.

    Kind regards
