Most of the gens are randomly place around the pale rose and grim pantry since the mid chapter arrived to PS4 i have still not gotten use to those changes another reason why i hate going to backwater swamp as it doesn't end well when you have a killer that runs no one escapes death

Don't feel bad, killers are now spawning within 20 meters of you on those 2 maps.

  • I think this is a good idea but with some tweaks as @CoolAKn suggested and perhaps this would be the perfect way to adjust insta heals.

The Styptic agent would bring you from dying to injured state and would consume the medkit completely.

The syringe would bring you to full health while consuming the medkit completely.

To balance it out the medkit would need at least 4 charges base in them in order to grant the full effects. You could consider that the 4 seconds you'd need to properly prepare the ingredients/injection.

Now if you didn't have the 4 charges you'd suffer some sort of penalty for x seconds based upon how many charges you were short.

I'll edit the charges missing stuff in later along with perhaps tyng Botany Knowledge in somehow to make it more useful.

  • This was on PC and like I said have never ever on any map seen a gen against an outside wall.

  • I don't have a problem with this patch and the changes are nice for both sides, is it a big change to what people are used to yes. But like human evolution you just need to adapt to the changes and change your playstyle perhaps. Most of the playerbase will adapt and get used to the changes while the ones on both sides that can't or refuse to will be stuck.

Wait, Your sabo progress stays and doesn't degrade when you leave a hook mid-sabo?
Shouldn't the entity be 'regressing' it like the generators?

I've always thought it should slowly repair back up over time if left untouched since that would really spice things up for both sides. To really make it interesting a killer when they pick up a survivor they can see the health status of each hook in their vicinity.

Love how a KYF match is used to illustrate his point.  Because solo queuing or swf groups would never be able to replicate this occurrence.  Unless your in a controlled atmosphere of KYF.  GG

I love how you completely ignored my original post where I encountered this in a regular match. You know the 1st post at the top of the 1st page.

To the devs while I appreciate the sabo being made more useful having 4 hooks all drop within the 1st 6 seconds or so of a game starting is a bit much. I didn't ever really see 4 man tool box sabo squads on either side, but now it's rampant and even with Hangman's they just 99 it and then drop everything in the vicinity.

While you could 99 before it took a lot longer and wasn't so completely broken to the point that people could 99 and gen rush with impunity.

I dont know about those guys on the forum, I dont know what they actually have done.
But I know a certain fogstreamer that deranks regularly by DCing in order to hover between certain ranks and apparently that is still fine

I know who your talking about and I think they need to hold sponsored streamers so to speak to a higher standard. That said if the person plays a ton of games each month then their % of games played versus games dc'd on is proportionally low.

That doesn't make it right it's just how it is at the moment but hopefully in the future they'll change that to the higher standard.

  • @Lagoni The thing to realize is that the person that has the occasional real life issue come up isn't going to ever get a ban over this. The only ones complaining about this are those that dc at a high rate and thus get a ban they deserve.

  • @Tsulan said:
Wait... didn´t we have a hefty discussion because of the upcoming sabotage buff?

We did but the numbers weren't supposed to be so ahem off so to speak. I think part of it's Alex tool Boxes with Hacksaw and Wire are making it around 3-6 seconds with Leader and Prove thyself I think it's around 2-4.
I tested it out in kyf with no other survivors and got 7 sabo's done total and that was without getting great skill checks. With Prove Thyself and Leader you'd probably hit 10-15 along with the other erk that reduces consumption rate.

  • I had 4 4 man sabo squad games in a row earlier it wasn't pretty but I still managed to get some in 2 of the games. The issue isn't toolboxes themselves but the sabo changes numbers whacked out.

I had a Game earlier on Autohaven against a camping Hag I was only one with an item mind you. Since she camped I went full sabo with a brown tb/hacksaw/twine. I completely sabo'd 5 yes 5 hooks with that tb and i didn't hit or get all great skill checks either.

I think they need to change the numbers on sabo some along with perhaps a reduced efficiency the more toolboxes being used on a single gen at same time. Since if you think about it you've got narrow spaces and lots of fingers with moving parts.

This is one of the most moderate patches the dev team has ever pushed out with tweaks on both sides and yet all we hear about is how "killer sided" the patch was. It's crazy.

That comes with every patch. They could remove killer weapons and nerf their movement speed to slower than survivors, but when DS gets chopped... It'll still be a killer sided patch.

You're forgetting all the killer mains whining every patch how every patch is killer sided despite buffs etc. I mean seriously you could play against bots and be guaranteed easiest difficulty and people on both sides would complain about something.

But it was ok for survivors to constantly run up there with no consequence pfft hypocrites.

The no consequences Nurse and Doctor say hi and lets not forget Trapper that'd just trap the stairs on you and Hag would just laugh in your face with all her traps. As a survivor it's not that big of a deal and as far as just dropping down.

Those using that excuse do realize smart killer already bait those drops for free hits/downs from people just jumping out windows.

TOS/EULA which you agree to when installing the game

TOS/EULA is not "clearly stated", and is not a binding contract in many cases. In general, a service provider can obviously ban you for whatever reason they see fit, but you don't have to be okay with it.
The key is whether the service provider allows the user reasonable notice and opportunity to review the terms before using the website or service.
    -taken from eff.org
I do realize that this i about legality, but i still feel that it is applicable.

    @powerbats said:
If we follow the op's logic because there's a power button on the computer pressing it means they won't get punished for quitting by turning off the computer.

That's a quite the straw man. BHVR didn't have anything to do with your computers power button. It's essentially an external or "third party" element, as it resides outside of their game's environment.

As i previously stated, I'm fine with banning people who DC, but there should be a prompt telling you that continuous DC's can get you banned.

While I agree they should have a prompt it's pretty common knowledge that if you quit too much.you get punished. The TOS/EULA is there to show they can basically do what they want given it's their property you're renting as permissible by law. In the United States most incorporate in Delaware due to its law governing corporations.

I only used the power button as an analogy since it's not a Straw Man but indeed applicable to the situation, the person is choosing to do a negative action. That ISP isn't choosing to intentionally dc that person when they select leave game.

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks really since the moment you click accept you agree to abide by their decisions one of which is if you dc to much you run the risk of getting banned.

Only kidding I really want a SCREAM chapter to.......... bring Sidney to DBD!!

Wait, I missed something then, where did we get the info that Freddy is getting a FULL rework and they bring a new map plus Nancy? What?

They talked about Freddy a ways back and then just recently in the devstream about getting a full rework so that'll probably happen either at end of eyr or most most likely early next.

Something similar to how they killed Julius Caeser

Lowbei would get decisive striked 23 times by a salty survivor main.

That's only after getting looped for 5 minutes, then right after they DS him they'd just dc I mean leave the convention.

With the DC ban their goal was to stop people from rage quitting but people still rage quit LOL i guess no one cares anymore based on how bad the games become .

You say that while completely ignoring all the complaint threads from the same people complaining about getting banned. This would include a certain poster saying it doesn't matter while complaining about the recent ban wave.

  • There's lot of good changes for both sides and bug fixes, I see nothing wrong with it unlike some on both sides who see anything that benefits the other side as cuddling.

  • IT's fine since solo q will most likely be the ones to run it thus putting them on equal footing with swf which is what the devs want. That way is all survivors are pretty much equal then killers can be buffed to that balance without screwing over solo q.

Again the only change i think that should be added is to make it like when someone screams during doctors madness. It only shows where it happened not the exact spot the person now is so pallet breaking would have a 1 second delay too.

So you state they don't want to put people out of playing their game yet isn't that what these bans are doing, putting people out from playing their game?

My PSN friend plays Survivor & RAGE QUITS if he is 1st down, tunnelled, or camped, 6x in a row he quited once... NO BAN & never has been. He says it's his way off balancing his games as he feels trials are to time consuming with slow-up nerf's.

Yeah well that's going to change in the very near future because BHVR is working with both Microsoft and Sony on implementing ban systems. Also just because they don't currently ban on consoles doesn't mean they don't have that wealth of data already.

So all those that've been toxic, hacking, rage quitting etc they've already got all the proof they need to ban but it also gives them data on who to watch now.

Well you can derank on PC by DCing too and nothing happens.
Is that microsoft/sonys fault too?

The recent ban wave would say otherwise and given the recent spam of complaint threads would confirm your wrong as well. As far as Microsoft/Sony technically yes it's their fault since they won't ban and want full control as usual.

Which is exactly my point in general. You outplayed the killer, avoided detection and escaped yet you are awarded less than if you stand out in the open, loop the killer for 5 min and still die by the end of the game. In the latter, I've personally pulled Gold+ before, thus why I can't wrap my head around the logic of playing better = less reward.

Yes, and it is by purposeful design. The Devs want some sort of engagement between the two sides, not simply avoiding the killer entirely, popping gens, and rushing the door. Which is why Evader is designed how it is. You might feel that by completely avoiding the killer and their terror radius all game that you won. And depending on your preferred way to play, you might be right. By the Dev's game design, however, you will not get advancement in the Evader emblem because that is not how the designers want the game to be played. Therefore, that play-style does not reward Evader emblem advancement.

By the Dev's design choices for DBD, engaging the terror radius near the killer and being unseen (bigger risk) or being seen and chased and escaping (bigger risk) is how they want the game played. Avoiding killer entirely all game (lesser risk) isn't worthy of a reward. They want risk and engagement to take place in a DBD match.

The problem with that is it encourages endless looping and or gen rushing which killers hate, so survivors have to do 1 or the other. I'm not going to go run the killer endlessly because I suck at looping and i'm not going to challenge a Bubba/Nurse/Billy etc by running in plain sight of them just to get screwed.

It seriously needs to be changed to suit both play styles so that not everyone is forced into the 1 playstyle because otherwise get ready for endless looping then. If I've got to learn how to endlessly loop in order to get that i'll finally break down and do it.

Yeah but this is ignoring the restraints of the current p2p hosting that it has going on, imagine dbd grew enough to be able to provide dedicated servers instead. Would you fw the idea?

You'd also have to have the game optimised much better which realistically requires the new code before any of the rest of that comes out. Some console users with bad internet or lower tier consoles would still suffer.,

  • I've thought of something similar where it opens to a middle area and you end up helping others open their area up by doing gens in the middle. If the killer wipes everyone out on their side they can then go into another side but that'd be op for one side or another really quickly.

The biggest drawback is that it'll never happen with p2p since the connections can't handle it. It'd require dedicated servers and consoles would have a fit trying to run it.

  • I've had the game crash a couple times in a week several games in a row, (fing Nvidia) but it's pretty rare and even when someone doesn't load in I'll still try and play. Yes it sucks when the killer just mows you all down and end s the match in 2 minutes.

But those people get less bp than if they just let a little farming go on since usually if that happens the survivors have gotten some bp . That and at least a safety pip.hopefully they'll gladly let the killer hook them and get a sac done thus giving the killer a lot more bp.

Well once you get into the system though the threshold is much much lower.

I'm just afking after the first hook lol, I DC every 5 games or so

Why not lead the killer around for a gen or 2 and then let him hook you, 2 gens get done suicide and boom you can derank probably. Don't drop any pallets and don't infinite loop but make him chase you just long enough for other to get stuff done.

You'll get some bp out of it and probably still depip just like you want so you can have an easier game. In fact go in perkless and itemless and don't use offerings or better yet don't play for a week at a time.
