The best ways to solve the problem an d assuage killers concerns are to either make event hooks completely immune to sabotage. They'd still be able to be sabo'd for points but wouldn't fall off thus people could get points if those are the hooks they can do.The other way is to make them auto respawn within 15-20 seconds of being sabo'd then have a timer that makes them immune to being sabo'd again for 1 minute. You could also just have a hard reset timer that's 15-20 seconds and if you have Hangman's Trick it drops to 10 seconds at rank III.
This would make it much more clear to both sides what's there to be able to do, killers wouldn't have to worry about it and could just play normally. The survivors wouldn't have to be worried about getting hard camped for bringing a toolbox to do gens for their tokens.
This would keep both sides from being jerks (for the most part) to the other side over event hooks and what a prior or current jerk(s) might or might not do.
The midchapter patch with the sabo buffs will hit before the event starts.
Seems like a good idea, right?
The event starts this Friday, mid chapter patch will come out probably after that depending on if they wait or not since it's so close to the event/certification process.
I expect that the patch will be thursday. But it would be nice if it hit after the event so that we got the weekend to farm the hooks at least
Agreed and hopefully they'll wait till after the event but perhaps that might be too long of a time frame.

When did they say that?
This, the game isn't really big enough to draw an esport crowd yet, at least not one where you'd get sponsors and such to make it worthwhile. They also have to finish the balance changes they want to do and realistically write the new code.
It could get big with esports. Rainbow 6 managed to pull this off.
But that's a huge workload.True but I think they had an edge due to publisher visibility and a larger following based upon the lore/game awareness.

Oh I figured as much.

I heard some minor noise in the beginning of the event when SWF squads thought it'd be hilarious to sabotage everything but I guess they stopped when they realized that they didn't get much bloodpoints themselves wasting so much time sabotaging..
True, the devs were pretty sneaky and also the jerks figured out that everyone else wouldn't save them if they did it for the most part. I wouldn't go for an unhook unless I had too or unless the killer hooked someone else and the same was true for most of us.
I did ended up getting matched with a few jerks that'd try and grief me or others that had left them suffer and the killers would remember who was who also. For the most part there was lots of farming going on both sides with very little jerkish behavior from both sides.
The jerks on both sides got harsh treatment as well ocne people figured out who was who.

It's not clearly stated when you have to go to a website to read it.
When the punishment is a ban, i think there should be a prompt in the game explaining this when you click disconnect.I don't really get the whole rant about the bugs. Yes they should be fixed, but I just haven't experienced any.
TOS/EULA which you agree to when installing the game, I linked to the forum post since that was updated. Besides common sense dictates if you quit during a game there's going to be a punishment. If we follow the op's logic because there's a power button on the computer pressing it means they won't get punished for quitting by turning off the computer.

Tier I - Hooks respawn after 60 seconds.
Tier II - Hooks respawn after 45 seconds
Tier III - Hooks respawn after 30 seconds.
Then as an added protection bonus
Tier I - Hooks that respawn are immune to sabotage for 15 seconds.

Or they could not buff sabo at all
Or you could just stop complaining that a worthless perk got a buff.

Droppoints are not subject to windowblocking. But nice try.
If it's done as a shallow vault similar to say Yamaoka Estates shallow window vaults it will. But hey keep on ignoring things that'd work to fit your narrative.
Drops slow down the survivor, while vaults slow down killer.
So that would make matters even worse.Funny how you try to twist around, who ignores what to support his agenda.^^
Bamboozle which some killers run and they don't use slow vaulting as an excuse either, funny how you ignore that. Also unless that survivor is running Balanced Landing the killer is still going to get them.
As far as agenda's go you'rs is always obvious, if it doesn't benefit killers directly it's a survivor buff and killer nerf. If it benefits both sides it's obviously a survivor buff and the devs favor survivors.
They could buff killers to the dominant role and you'd still complain that they're weak or find something to complain about. When the real issue is you need to improve your gameplay knowledge and stop blaming everything else.
Most killers don't have a problem with window vaults since they made so many changes and the half vault window on Yamaoka isn't a problem same for the other ones. I don't see @Lowbei @SovererignKing or any of the other killer mains on here complaining about half windows or saying this would be a bad fix.

Let's stop it here. You don't see the issue, because you were not around, when the Haunted Grounds happened. Where some dev had the brilliant idea to "fix" Flashlights. Turning them into a guaranteed save.
Just to give you an example: 4x DS, 2 Flashlights and 2 toolboxes. I down a survivor, try to pick up, flashlight. Down him again, face a wall, pick up and try to reach the hook, get body blocked until he triggers his DS. Next time I reached the hook = sabotaged before my eyes. And when I finally reached the hook with no one sabotaging: survivor on my shoulder disconnected.
And that was during 1 match.Yeah, it's possible to get those hooks. But survivors made it a nightmare for killers.
No one complained during BBQ event, because that one was ok. No mayor things had been changed for the event.
Oh and survivors got their event coins way easier than killers. They just had to be alive to get the coins. Others completed the event gens, while they were free to do what they wanted.
We'll see in a few days, who is right.
I really hope, that I'm wrong.I wasn't around for Haunted Grounds event but I've seen enough posts and my youngest son was to know all about it. The Sabo changes were made in response or not to this. Also Flashlights got nerfed into the ground so that isn't an issue anymore.
The issues you described can't happen since things have been changed so people need to stop living in the past since as you pointed out BBQ was fine due to changes. I mean look at all the complaints posted before the BBQ event, they were the exact same as now, I and many others said the exact same thing and we were told doom and gloom.
Well look how it turned out, killers got their stuff really easily and everyone was pretty happy and yet the killers didn't admit they were wrong. They just said well this happened last time and it'll happen again, no hey you were right or that yes it went smoothly because the devs changed it.
No survivors didn't get their coins easier since killers would quite often hook and someone would die with may'be 1 token or 2 if they were lucky. I played non stop as did a lot of people I know, some killers had it 1st day, it took me well over 1 week just to get my survivor cosmetic.
Sometimes event gens were really close together which made doing it nearly impossible and nearly every killer was either Billy or Nurse. There were a few Clowns and Huntresses but mostly it was Billy/Nurse making it super difficult to get a token let alone a few.
The devs aren't stupid and they changed things from Hallowed to BBQ and they'll probably dot eh same again this time.If they don't there's still 2 weeks to get your tokens which will still be easier than survivors.

"Survivors Forcing DC"
Don't try and justify peoples bans by saying it's the survivors faults, lmfao.
^ This, killer doesn't like the map dc, killer doesn't like the offerings, dc, killer doesn't hook someone within 30 seconds dc, killers totem gets cleansed early dc. The killer is the one that chooses to hit the escape key then select the exit game option then click accept.
Sometimes a killer suddenly has to poop.
Or sometimes a killer's puppy suddenly has to poop and/or pee.
Killers can't control everything. It's dumb we have to host.
But unless a survivor is going to come over and change my and/or my puppy's diaper....it's a DC.
The same could be said fore survivors having to take a bio, or dog or real life etc, it's not a big deal and as @peanits said it's not that often of an occurrence. If it is then that's your fault for not planning properly since if you know my pet goes around this time generally plan.
-
@Tsulan said:
Sure, it's the killers fault, when 4 survivors with toolboxes and sabotage, sabotage the already spread hooks. Killer can increase the 2 hooks by a whooping 1. Which still isn't a problem for longer lasting toolboxes.
It's not the bullies fault. Let's shame the victim.
Oh yes this excuse again, it's always the 4 man with tool boxes or the 4 man with flashlights, or the 4 man DS squad that's used as an excuse. I rarely saw at rank 1-2 4 man toolboxes and when I did only 1 of them was used on hooks, the rest were used exclusively on event gens.
When someone sabo'd an event hook and got hooked they got left till either they died or someone else got hooked. So what if killers can only increase 1 hook you're seriously going to try and use that as an argument after I showed how false it was already?
So somehow survivors are going to magically not put up any offerings for an entire 2 weeks of an event thereby forging their own chance at any cosmetics and or extra bp. Yeah no wonder killers are held in such contempt on these forums when you try and use logic like that.
Now before the trash starts flowing again I'm not ignoring the sabo issues but even if the sabo last longer so what, you're not going to just drop them and let them bleed on the ground till it respawns? There seems to be this huge victim and woe is me complex now that omg there's nothing i can do.
You can chase your chase orientations to get them to go closer to an event hook, you can punish those that sabo your event hooks. There's so much you as a killer can do yet it's I'm defeated before a single match has started syndrome again.
If you're all going to complain this much over something that not only hasn't happened but also might not you're just feeding all the trolls out there. They see stuff like this and now they're know they can trigger you by going after your hooks.
It might turn out bad but it might also turn out just fine, but the doom and gloom happens every patch and evey event yet the game seems to go on just fine. This is why those complaining the loudest on both sides can't ever be taken seriously.
Someone sabo's your stuff then tunnel and camp them as a lesson or mori them same as happened during the event. Most killers that brought mori's only used them on the jerks, tea baggers and event hook saboteurs. Most survivors if they had a sabo daily went out of their way to the furthest corners of the map away from event hooks to sabo.
When I had a savo daily i either dropped it during the event or I did exactly as above then dropped my toolbox in front of the killer to let them know. but if killers are jerks this time with no provocation then their event hooks get sabo'd. That's an unwritten rule since what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Just play the game and if people are jerks they're jerks and punish them accordingly and if not play regularly like usual. Besides it's 2 friggin weeks and it's a lot easier for you to get your tokens than it is for survivors.

Even IF you had it, it wouldn´t make a difference. The next event will be worse than Haunted Grounds.
The minimum distance of hooks has been increased to 24 meters. Now add, that there are only 2-7 hooks (depending on the offerings). Means, that most of the time, the killer will reach the hook just barely.
Survivors will run towards the zones, where no event hooks are. Body block, DS, sabotage, etc.
I guarantee you, that the forum will be full of killers which give up on the event.Because the shoe fits here.

What could possibly go wrong?!You could oh i don't know run Hang mans Trick for the luls when people try and sabo your event hooks as well as nail them for doing so. I ran it on my Trapper as normal but also my Huntress for the daily she had and nailed jerks.
That´s the "just break the pallet" answer to looping.
Event hooks will be a minority. Means, that the hook won´t be usually the closest hook you´ll see. Now the minimum distance between hooks is 24 meters. So the killer will just barely reach the event hook, only to get body blocked and/or the hook sabotaged. If he drops the survivor, because he has hangmans, then the survivor will break free. Even IF the survivor doesn´t break free, he won´t just stay where you drop him until the hook respawns.
Mark my words. Killers will have a terrible event.
This is going to sound harsh because it is but it's also logic and facts hopefully putting a stop to all this victim nonese.
In other words no one's going to put up offerings so the poor killers will only get 2 hooks, is that what you're saying? I mean good grief talk about drama and woe is me victimhood here, I mean it's not like there wasn't offerings galore the 1st week of the BBQ event. Most killers had their weapon within the 1st few days and after that were just farming bp.
There was also quite a few wouldn't put any up and instead make sure survivors couldn't do only the special event gens. Just because they didn't want survivors who'd put up offerings to help get them theirs couldn't get some for themselves.
if killers have a bad event mark my words, it's their own fault for not putting offerings out there plain and simple. Since if they don't want to put offerings out there then they don't deserve to get their special hooks plain and simple.
When I did the BBQ event I made sure to put up offerings every match on both sides even if I already had what i needed. I still did it to help others get their tokens since I knew not everyone would've gotten it and in fact I've still got offerings in my inventory on both sides.
If you or any other killer doesn't get it then you've got no one to blame but yourselves so stop trying to play the victim here.

Even more so if it's coming from a cancerous survivor.
This there's a few unscrupulous killers that'll take advantage of it but by and large like most survivors they play with a sense of honor. I've had killer recognize what's going on and then let me farm and in return for being cool I'll let them sac me.
As a killer when I know what's going on I'll kill that person and then let the rest farm and escape and sometimes they'll have me sac them. I've made friends on both sides that way.

A drop down would benefit the survivor way more than the killer.
The staircase is a chokepoint and risky.
With a drop off, they could flee from the killer when he is coming up and use it as another loop..And anyway, who is running IG or Agi at high ranks?
Yep typical response everything is a survivor buff and no the killer can easily bait them into dropping down the same as other drops like that. It also would be subject to oh I don't know the window blocking so it can't be an infinite.

Ummn where did I say that camping isn't legit? I said they're trying to get those camping at 5 gens to start going after others.
Oh and I've even bolded where I said it's still legit above.
-

This is what all the whiny killers need to do, you come up with all these excuses and scenarios that may or may not happen so you can whine about them. Then in another thread you brag about how easy it is to hit rank 1 and get 4k etc. In another thread you'll say something completely contradictory about anything and it'll keep going to other threads.
If you really are that frustrated there's a simple solution, UNINSTALL and go play CIV V. 😜 Now in case you didn't see the OBVIOUSLY INTENSE SARCASM OF THE ABOVE IT'S MEANT AS INTENSE SARCASM !!!!!!!!
But in all seriousness I see almost exclusively excuses for killers being bad or scenarios that they can do something about then when confronted with options they change the narrative. IF someones at the exit gate and won't leave you chase them out. But oh someone may run past me, well geez if they're not injured they're going to run past you anyways.
Oh but I can't get my NOED hit in then, well gee they others are probably looking for it or going to you know the other exit gate. But then I can't camp this exit gate, well then go camp the other exit gate or I don't know go look for the people.
It's all about the excuses now and not about getting good, do you think Marth or Tyde or any of the top streamers is going to come to the forums and whine about how hard it is? No, they go into their games knowing there's an imbalance and yet still can get 4 kills because they don't make excuses.
They actually learn both sides and the strengths and weaknesses of everything, they learn the maps, totem spawns etc. They don't go into a match with woe is me it's not fair I'm not going to do well attitude, they go in with the intent to kill and do their best.
If they do good, great if not they accept that and move onto the next game and try their best again. They most definitely don't sit there in a pool of victimization and then come to the forums and complain about how unfair it is.
As far as coming to the forums they have voiced their concerns at least Marth has but if you look at his post it's reasonable and rationale and there's not an ounce of victimhood or whining in it.

STBFL is viable
PWYF hasn´t been good since the devs butchered Myers perks. It gives more disadvantages than advantages
Whispers is... well there are way better detection perks. Since it only gives you a really rough estimation where a survivor could be.PWYF is really good with Spirit Fury right now, especially on Myers.
Whispers if you're paying attention you just move back and forth and you pretty much home in on the person hiding.
No, it´s not. The speed bonus you gain stands in no correlation to the time you waste gaining the stacks.
It´s like needing to get chased by the killer, to get the Prove Thyself speed bonus. Several times, and the bonus is only temporary.THen you're using it wrong since killers that know how to use it best seem to do just fine with it. It's no different than any other perk on either side, use it to it's fullest with other perks and items, or addons with /killer/survivors and you do well.
If you don't use any of those combos to their fullest you don't do as well.

Are you deliberately confusing perks that reward skillful play with perks that compensate for lack of skill?
STBFL rewards killers who keep track of their obsession and dish out hits on the other survivors only, whenever they get the chance during a chase.
PWYF rewards killers who keep track of their obsession and, in a multiple survivors chased scenario, can trigger the perk by temporarily switching targets.
Whispers is not a very good perk but it does reward spacial awareness and mental triangulation.
DS rewards survivors who have failed at hiding AND failed at chasing.
Self Care rewards survivors who have failed at hiding AND failed at chasing but were let go after 1 hit because the killer had to switch targets or shift his attention towards the gens.
Sprint Burst rewards survivors who failed to notice the killer closing in on them.
Adrenaline rewards survivors who have failed at hiding AND failed at chasing AND were helped by survivors who failed at hook rescues (circumstantial)Now who's deliberately confusing things as well as posting absolute nonsense.
DS rewards you for hitting that skillcheck and if the killer runs into you at the start or sees your the obsession they'll tunnel you. You want more looping then congrats everyone will loop non stop from now on because hey that's the only way to lose the killer.
Self Care rewards you for taking hits near the hook (hint there's an achievement for doing it), it rewards you for LOSING THE KILLER you know that thing you said a caught survivor is bad at. Don't go making excuses now as for why the killer lost that survivor since it isn't just to swap targets or do gens.
That survivor gets to use SC because they lost the killer, it doesn't reward failing at hiding or did you mysteriously forget someone sandbagging or dragging killer while running to other person? I mean it's not like there isn't a Doctor that shocks you out of hiding,
It's not like there's killers that're good at stealth and for sneaking up on people, it's not like Whispers doesn't help or gasp a Scratched Mirror Myers with 32m aura range. It's almost like amanda with her addon for seeing people and MYers with the Mirror completely ignore hdiing.
Sprint Burst rewards survivors for taking risks and staying on that gen till the last moment, it also rewards risky moves if done right. But hey lets ignore those pesky facts because they don't fit your narrative.
Adrenaline rewards survivors who take a chance that that perk will actually be there at the end of the game since if they get hooked and or sac'd 1st it was a wasted perk slot. Yet again more pesky facts that don't fit your narrative.
Both sides have good and bad perks that do different things and oh here's another perk that is risky asf but oftentimes screws you over but hey it won't ft your narrative.
NO MITHER.

Low threshold for toxicity, huh?
"Let's band together and basement camp as many as possible during the event to ruin people's experiences and make them waste their offerings!" is equal to my mild bickering?
You should also check yourself. Your response is sarcastic and dripping with contempt. So if I'm being toxic, what are you doing?
No I have a low threshold for people being jerks just because they don't get their way, especially when people complain about others doing the same thing. The killer mains on here complain about survivors being toxic so then something the devs do causes them to suddenly become as toxic as what they complain about.
As far as contempt and sarcasm darn right since that's obviously the only thing that'll get the message across because trying to talk common sense doesn't seem to be. Also mild bickering did you seriously just try and use that false equivalency as an argument?

Yeah earlier I killed 2 out of 4. One of the survivors then said "Ez" i replied with " Got 2" I then proceeded to get cussed out repeatedly, have fun without comm. Microsoft doesnt tolerate that.Holy NECRO you got a thread from July 10th instead of posting something new as your 1st comment. 😜

I get 4ks at R1 most of the time. By the game's scoring system I am clearly better. But I also know that the difference is greater than the game makes it out to be simply because survivors have skill compensating perks where killers do not.
So killers don't have any of the following perks that rewards them for playing skillfully.
STBFL
PWYF
Whispers (if you can't find them with skill call 1-800-4ENTITY )I could go on but to say there's not help or perks that give skilled players more choices etc is nonsense.

I don't mind moris, they are unique and special! However I don't like the plain moris that trapper and Wraith have, BORING lol!
Trapper needs a new and improved one like I suggested a ways back and Spirit is the only Mori to die by.
Can you link me the thread?

I'd have to look for it, months ago I believe might take awhile but I've got it memorized and i'll post my idea later.
In lobby atm.

Well I'm rank 1 on both sides. Used to play mostly all killer. But I was struggling a bit to rank up as killer coming back to the game. I ended up playing more survivor then killer this season. Just because it seemed a lot easier since 8 months ago when I last played. The whole having to kill two players to pip seems to have made killer harder then it used to be.But anyhow. I should say as a solo survivor... I never get camped or tunneled. When I started to play SWF (With 3 friends that all have like 10 hours in DBD total.) We did start to see more campers. But I can't really blame them for camping. We were rushing hooks and tea bagging and being pretty toxic. So never really blamed them. Just told my friends... You know he's going to face camp you if he catches you. Feel like it's easy to tell when you're pissing off a killer. So probably avoid doing those things if you don't want to get camped/tunneled.
If you're going to be toxic the killers going to be toxic lol. Don't know why that's hard to understand.
Regardless. Killers being toxic and whiny in post-game chat? It's pretty uncommon. Obviously survivors are a lot more likely to whine and cry.
If you're being toxic I can understand the killer being toxic in return but again killers are being toxic at the start with no provocation.
As far as survivors more like to be post game well yeah there's 4 of them compared to 1 killer so of course there'll be more of them possibly. Now the gen rushing please BNP's got nerfed into oblivion and 4 tool boxes bring Franklins and run NOED or something else. You could play Wraith and laugh at them as you outrun them or Nurse or Billy etc.

Never run into toxic killers myself. Never find myself getting camped or tunneled. Wonder if it's because I'm the only survivor that's not messing with him. A lot of your problems could be solved yourself. Maybe don't teabag the killers. Maybe don't loop a pallet more then a few times before moving onto another spot on the map. Maybe then the killer won't want to face camp you.If you delay him on a chase for a long time because you looped him to death. Why would anyone in their right mind let you off the hook? If it took 5 minutes to finally get you on the hook and the game lasts 6 minutes. Seems like he should probably make sure you die. Otherwise he ain't ever got a chance of catching you again.
I'd love to have your luck since rank 1 NA is a cesspool of killers including Billy/Nurse that'll camp on 1st hook with no provocation. I see killers hard camp even Wraiths since the rework are either camping point blank or 5 feet from hook. These are all P3 and Candle Wraiths mind you not some noob wraiths and they obviously know how to play.
They're toxic because they choose to be not because I've done something to them in that game or anyone else. You want to sue looping as an excuse yet it's an accepted gameplay yet killers whine about it when what else are survivors supposed to do?
On certain maps against certain killers stealth isn't going to get you very far, especially with all the tracking perks available. When you get maps with wide open areas well it's pretty much hey there's someone here kill them.
-
It comes and goes, there's been times when it's been almost exclusively Lery's and Gideon and the killer is almost always it seems Doctor with extended terror radius. While other times it's Swamp etc.

As far as licensed killers or survivors go I'd say no more than 1 per year since that's money that takes away from game development.

Don´t just call them jerks. Remember that there is a human being on the other side. Maybe someone who played fair without camping for the last 2-3 matches, and who got gen rushed and rewarded with a "gg ez" after the match. Some people would just snap and punish the first guy they find.
It´s a viscious circle. Because survivors gen rush, because killers camp. And killers camp, because survivors gen rush. The root of the problem is, that killers don´t feel like they have the power role. They feel like the party clown for the survivors.
Devs need to address this asap. They need to give survivors additional objectives. Killer feels pressured, when it´s the survivors who should feel pressured.Sometimes i feel as killer, like i´m the monster in Evolve and 4 hunters are trying to kill me.
Shouldn´t be that way.I'm referring to the jerks in this case as those that sit there and do it just to grief someone playing survivor, they're not doing it because they had a bad game. Those are the ones that grief because they're jerks and then pip up and do it at higher ranks.
The ones that had a bad game need to grow up and not turn into a jerk because they had a bad game since as you and I and others have said it just feeds a vicious cycle. Yes it sucks to be a killer sometimes but that's no excuse to be a jerk no matter your reasons.
The same is true for a survivor being a jerk to the killer because they had a bad game since that's just as bad if not worse. The jerks on both sides need to grow up and or start getting punished simple as that. The people that turn into a jerk because of a bad game need to grow up.
If you look at it as a killer from the Entity's perspective if you sit there and be a jerk and get 1 kill but 3 escape what happens? You get a message post game saying the Entity is displeased because you decided to satiate your ego instead of killing people.
But then I'm sure the usual excuses will come out, well adapt and move on, you'll win some and you'll lose some. When you see top tier killers and those who're not doing on average 2-4k generally every game and you're not there's a reason.
Some of it's a console issue, some it's you just refuse to adapt and play with what you're given. All that lobby dodging makes you soft because you won't take that challenge. Yes 4 man swf, 4 man DS/SB/SC/ (insert w/e perks you want to complain about here)and of course 4 man flashlight squads are there every game.
Well you can build for that and or choose a killer better suited to what's in the lobby but usually you just dodge or refuse to go with the best combos. You've got your favorite builds and killers so you won't change and this weaken your chances. Now add onto that the defeatist attitudes displayed all the time and you're going to do bad.
Will you get destroyed from time to time yes, just as survivors will it's part of life, things don't always go your way. But even when you lose laugh at yours or their mistakes, look at what you did wrong and what you did right and MOVE ON!!!!!!

Just play normal and enjoy how survivors will complain about long lobby queues on high ranks.
Yes because the last time some ppl threatened not to play a short ways back queues weren't affected at all. I and everyone else on either side just swap to whichever side has faster queues like always. The only time there's long lobby times is early in the AM. Then I like the rest swap for faster lobbies problem solved.
Again the only people this hurts are the jerks that camp at 5 gens then go for 1 more camp after hopefully getting someone to suicide. Those idiots will depip instead of being at rank 1 where they don't belong.
I'd say they'll slow down the rank progress of killers, while keeping the fast rank ups of survivors. This will result in higher queues for survivors.
I don't know since the survivors that screw around but not get close enough will depip as well and so it equals out, the only ones this hurts are the jerks that camp and don't belong there.
