  • My post from the other one you said and since I don't feel like typing it again here.

Yes because the last time some ppl threatened not to play a short ways back queues weren't affected at all. I and everyone else on either side just swap to whichever side has faster queues like always. The only time there's long lobby times is early in the AM. Then I like the rest swap for faster lobbies problem solved.

Again the only people this hurts are the jerks that camp at 5 gens then go for 1 more camp after hopefully getting someone to suicide. Those idiots will depip instead of being at rank 1 where they don't belong.

This and while my post was meant to be harsh it is, I forgot to add in what was just said. The regular killers this won't really impact. i think the devs will fix it so you don't get penalized once gates are powered. But if you're going to do something toxic in protest it shows something that most of you aren't.

  • Yes lets prove my point about some killer mains being whiny spoiled children that throw a temper tantrum when they don't get their way. You'll be no better than the he who shall not be named fan club that review bombed because he got banned and didn't get his way.

In fact you'll be no better than the minority of whiny survivor mains you complain about being entitled spoiled children. Then when survivors sit there and endlessly tea bag and flashlight spam you in retaliation you'll come onto the forums whining about how toxic they are.

Yet it was your own behavior that led them to do this and they'll go into future games against killers that aren't jerks and do the same to them, all because you have a hissy fit basically.

I'll tell you, they didn't even begin working on it, because they have 90% of the devs working on dlcs.

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.” – Christopher Hitchens.

Ah yes yet another keyboard programmer with no idea how hard it is to actually write the code and make sure it works properly. They already had a rework going on which was Wraith and they don't have a huge workforce and if you think that go check their job listings.

Also you do realize that dlcs are part of the process with making sure they actually work and different teams work on different things. But then if you knew how actual game companies work you'd not have posted this in the 1st place.

I just had a match I know was 4 people in a group because They all shared variations on the same name.

Guess how many I actually got to SEE when everyone is together in Discord?

Oh, sorry, you're not that intelligent. I saw ZERO because they were able to communicate and say where I was, and what I was doing, and who I was going after.

But the Devs thought nerfing Killers was fine, because Survivors whined. Then the Devs felt a Survive with friends mode would NEVER be unfair to the LONE GOD DAMN KILLER.

The killer has to be good enough to hit Survivors AT LEAST 12 damn times to have a chance at killing everyone.

That's not counting when people get off hooks, when people heal, etc.

    That's AT MINIMUM.

But no, no. I'm bad. Ok. Nevermind that Survivors have it freaking easy with Sprint Burst, and t hat newer perk that REMOVES THEIR GOD DAMNED HITBOX while they dash forward..

Yeah, survivors can become IMMUNE TO DAMAGE.

I bet you'd be here whining like a ######### if any Killers got a perk to insta-break any pallet smashed over their head.

Because the Survivors are whiny bitches who need to win 100% of the time, and the Devs were stupid enough to listen when the game was new.

I bet you only play Survivor and delude yourself into thinking you have skill when the game practically holds your hand.

Oh I agree about killers being more rare but it does happen and console seems to have it much worse than pc at least. Most of the salty killers try and friend me after game.

Perhaps they're doing that because some 5 year old was playing killer and face camped them and smacked them on the hook their last game. Then post game acted all big and posted stuff on their wall.

Oh hell man, the other day I made a post at the Overwatch forums criticizing Blizzard on the handling of the game. I don't rant or toss insults, I always post like I do here, everywhere. I walk into the forums today and find out that I have been kicked from Trust Level 3 to Trust Level 2, which means I can no longer post links (not that I really did anyway). I check my email, and get told that I have been lowered in forum privileges for questioning Blizzard policies.

Okay. I didn't question their policies on anything, but whatever. They want to censor criticism, I get it.

I am done with Blizzard. I blocked the forum website in my browser so I'm not tempted to give them my time anymore. It's the principle behind it all. They've definitely become just like Activision, which is just like EA, and after 24 years with them, I am no longer a customer.

Instead, warts and all, Behavior gets my business. And I have many reasons why I chose them, but that's another topic.

Yeah I've never been banned there but have been warned for criticizing them over the stuff they pull like when they screw up and your achievements get nuked and you have both picture and video proof. As well as people who were online and saw it and were streaming raids etc and they turn around and say they have no record of it.

When you provide the proof they simply say well we're not responsible for our screw ups and it basically sucks to be you. Now it's one thing if a few get deleted but ones that can't be redone due to being locked behind a legacy wall. Then the ones that're guild based or it happens to a lot of people and they deny it ever happened all to protect their egos.

  • I was pressing close to Devotion 3 but still have like 14 or so more levels to get there so the grind at the lower levels isn't that bad. The devs have stated they want to rework the devotion rewards some but how is the 64k dollar question.

Oh, don't even get me started on Blizzard. I played their games for 24 years. After the screw job they've done to players in Overwatch, and the garbage they launched as Battle for Azeroth, I've walked away from Blizzard and happily joined Dead by Daylight.

Behavior might not be perfect, but so far they sure aren't as bad as current Blizzard. The "Activision" in Blizzard is showing way too much mowadays.

Yeah I was playing Blizzard products from when they 1st came out but stopped playing WOW just before Thundering Isles patch came out. The final straw was how badly they keep destroying the D3 franchise and when they'd delete some of your progress and turn around and say sucks to be you.

  • As @Orion said, it's not that consoles can't be hacked it's that the effort isn't worth the cost of doing so and those determined will find a way. As with Pc and now Macs it's always a software side issue and the hardware ones are rare,

The hardware ones are more prevalent through routers or the sneaky firmware ones that're super difficult to detect and remove. Once consoles become much bigger and more prevalent and the rewards of hacking them are there they'll see an influx of it.

  • Hopefully this post is ok and that it will explain things for those interested and prevent possible further misunderstandings if it's accurate. @MandyTalk @Peanits If not let me know and I'll either edit it or delete it.

I think what's missing here in relation to some of the ahem past issues that everyone seems to overlook is this.

When punishment is meted out it isn't always for something recent so when people see something handed down and see nothing in recent history that merits it they say unjustified. The punishment in question might be related to something that was further back and given some of the comments about that time it'd be justified.

So say a punishable action was done 1 month ago and some people on here complained about it, but it just now gets punished. Well then people say it was unjustified since the person hasn't done anything recently that they think is punishable.

The other option is that enough actionable stuff happened over a period of time that the mods/devs felt that a punishment was warranted. Think of it along the lines of disconnecting, a few times might not get you punished, but a pattern of it over a longer period will.

If you follow the ahem actions in question and think about it and trace possible cause actions before said effect actions happened you'll likely see a correlation. Now before people wonder why said effect responses happened just remember that the mods are volunteers and have the entire forum to look through, not just a few threads.

There's also only 2 of them plus perhaps Not_Queen that does it and punishments are probably discussed in a non viewable section of the forums before being handed out.

    Edited for spelling:

  • I simply crawl away and make the killer follow me to an area that's super far away from the other person and possibly the hatch. They either eventually come hook me, I bleed out or they finally give up and actually look for the other person.

Details haven't been confirmed yet. The wiki is great and all, but as it notes, it's not confirmed information, so please withold judgement until we know for sure. There's no sense getting worked up over something that may not even be true.

This reminds me of the last time over a certain event recently where people went wild over unconfirmed stuff posted on the wiki as if it was official. When the date came and went people blew their tops and raged all over social media etc. The people flipping out need to stop hyperventilating and believing every rumour they see or hear and wait for official confirmation before being made to look silly.

Now if people will remember the most recent big event the Summer BBQ there was only 2 special hooks and gens default so people needed to bring in offerings which spawned more of both. Those complaining about there only being 2 hooks and flinging insults need to learn their history.

You can't lobby dodge something that isn't true.

The op posted something that was completely counter to what they said and is the case with most killer main claims about 4 man ds flashlight squads.

  • Ok it's obvious that they could take SC out and you lot would still complain about something else being op next. Then it'll be that medkits are op because then the person can just add extra charges onto a high tier medkit. You'll see more Streetwise perk usage then because hey it adds even more bang for the buck then Streetwise will be op.

It's pointless because you'll just find something new to complain about when the real issue isn't the item but your abilities as a killer and not maximizing them. When people can 4k as rank 1 Freddies going full perkless, or Bubba's can 4k it's not because the survivors are potatoes either.

It's because those people playing those killers know their strengths and weaknesses and can maximize them, it's because they know maps and how to play properly. It's because someone like @marth88gaming can take a full perkless killer everyone says is trash and destroy people.

How the [BAD WORD] did a complaint thread turn into basic math?

It doesn't double the heal time, it adds a -50% penalty when you use the perk. 50% of current base healing is 6 seconds (12 divided by half + base healing stat). The upcoming healing changes will make this into 8 seconds (16 divided by half + base healing stat).

    Current Self-Care takes 18 seconds.

Upcoming Self-Care will take 24 seconds.

Finally, someone else who can do basic maths and actually explain it

Gah I always hated math in school even though I could do it, why are you lot torturing me with this? Oh good i was wondering about the numbers since I thought my math was off based upon all the back and forth here.

Won't this be a good thing though since now survivors are spending even less time on gens unless they run BK which is what killers want? If they do run BK that means that's one less slot they have for their other perks even if they still keep the holy trinity.

  • @Raziel said:

My main argument is that I am a good survivor and I do not need Self Care at all. It has nothing to do with playing Killer.

My point is that your argument is biased and full of holes just because you don't run SC doesn't make you a good survivor. So the question becomes what perks do you use and if you say DS and or SB you're whole argument just went out the window.

  • @Raziel said:
90 Posts and I can only count strawman arguments. Sadly, this did not turn out to be a real debate. Might as well call it quits. Nobody has even tried to touch the most compelling argument against Self Care:

If you really are good at juking the killer, you WILL NEVER GET HIT. And that means that Self Care is a complete waste. If you expect getting hit, then you admit you are not good at juking the killer. You use self care because it compensates for you lacking this skill.

Speaking of Straw Mans, we'll use your logic here against you.

If you're a really good killer that survivor won't get away to use Self Care in the 1st place. That means that if they get away YOU SUCK AT KILLER !!!!!

There see how your logic just blew a very big hole in your whole argument.

  • @ToastfaceKilla said:
She still gets Juked incredibly easily, and taking that combo means she is using base windup speed, so you have about 15 minutes to break Los or dodge the hatchet.

To be fair, it should be habit for survivors to take down unlit totems to prevent NOED. So not having them lit up wouldn't be all that big of a deal. It would also give hex users a fairer chance instead of loosing their totems less than a minute into the game.

And I agree but it would still kill off players as most would dc as soon as someone at full health is insta downed

Why won't you break all the totems out there, if they're always unlit, and totem perks are meta (though, I doubt it). Searching for all totems takes ~80 seconds for one survivour, which is much faster if 2~3 will do it. It's not that hard.

No BP if you're maxed out in Boldness. :)

Also it takes much longer than 80 seconds to search for all 5 totems, there's things like Oh I don't know los blockers, large objects in the way, map sizes. Then there's my favorite reason it can take a while to find all the totems, there's this very big usually killer looking for survivors doing just that.

I mean it's not like the killer is going to just let people waltz around looking for totems without going to go ask for a hug with a sharp pointy object if they see them.

But just because one side has something broken doesn't mean we should give broken stuff to another side as well. I'm fine with strong add-ons and strong items, but perks and add-ons/items that almost break the game entirely need to be redesigned (like old BNPs, the old insta-blinds, old moris, etc).

The devs have already stated they intend to nerf insta heals of both kinds so if they do it's only fair if hatchets get the same treatment.

the incentive is that rank1 is where the most challenge is and thus where you develop the most skill.

If you are already at rank 1 how much skill can you make that you dont already have since..well its rank 1

this is a perfect example of what im talking about. rank1 play is much different than 2-20, so people “get” there then then think theyre good and stop playing till the reset or intentionally depip, giving themselves some ridiculous excuse like “rank1 is for tryhards” or “just not fun”.

its like finally making it to the big leagues then quitting before your first game because you dont need to prove anything else

The biggest advantage used to be that you'd have really competent people on both sides, very few campers and killers that were very sneaky. The survivors weren't complete boobs and wouldn't rush the hook, if you got the rare camper they'd gen rush.

The person on the hook being camped would sit there and do the camped signal and do nothing else but struggle once they hit phase 2. The totems would get cleansed, the one good looper would get aggro and would eventually get downed and camped.

The killers would find someone pretty quickly and either down them or go find someone else, gen pressure would be good and games would be fun for both sides most of the time. Now however it's a complete clusterfeck and you're as likely to get griefed as you are to get competent people.

For killers you're more likely to get 3-4k now and then get the occasional head scratching games where someone either rns into you so they can depip or or you ge 4-5 minute games.

  • @Milkymalk said:

Rancor: You don't have to do anything except fall behind, is that what you mean? I can see survivors' auras for a grand total of five times during the game, and every single time it means I am closer to losing.

BBQ&Chili shows you auras that are FAR away. It basically only gives you a hint in which direction you should walk if you at least want to meaningfully allow the unhook for free. I play BBQ for the bonus points and barely ever for the aura.

Bitter Murmur activates when a gen pops and shows me that there was somebody at that gen. Woohoo. Unless it was right next to you this perk is useless.

Deerstalker: Ehm... Deerstalker is in no way a counter to stealth play. I'll let you figure out why.

Back to topic: The problem is that looping is a survivor's best choice. If the killer follows, you get a sh*ton of points and waste his time so the other survivors can do gens. If he doesn't, you get out of jail free and can go back to doing whatever he caught you doing. Still points for winning the chase.
The devs should not make looping harder, but give survivors a reason to not loop at all. For example, don't reward them for long chases but penalize them like killers get penalized for camping soon. Give them a pool of blood points and have them lose points during chases. Whatever is left, they get if they survive. In fact, I like this idea so much that I'm going to post it in suggestions right now.

You're joking right because I see complaints and excuses where actual opportunities are.

Rancor - No it shows you right where people are at for 3 seconds when that gen is done and it's up to you to take advantage of that huge amount of vision. Oh and when the last gen is powered you get to see the auras of every survivor for 3 seconds and the Obsession is exposed and can be Mori'd.

BBQ&Chili - Far away as in over 24 meters far, that's actually not that far and you can easily cover that distance in a few seconds. If you're not using the aura then you're wasting the perk because while it shows where they were it's still a good indicator of where to look. Don't see anyone or only 1 well chances are ones close so go look and quit complaining.

Bitter Murmur - You get to see the auras of all survivors within 16 meters of that gen for 5 seconds. So that means you can clearly see which way they're going, if someone is going for a hook save etc. The last gen is popped all survivors auras are shown to you for 10 seconds. Meaning those going for unhooks, gates etc are all shown for 10 seconds.

Deerstalker isn't a anti stealth perk, they ere probably thinking of something different unless in the context of baiting out a stealthy player coming to heal a survivor that moved.

The looping idea isn't going to do anything but punish those that don't care and want to depip anyways. The solution to looping is to add in more LOS blockers which on Autohaven is making Huntresses mad. That and add more ways to break los with stealthy/evade choices.

That last part is going to require that a lot of killer tracking perks go away if loopings going to disappear. BBQ is fine, but thing like Whispers, Spies, Predator, Stridor (last tier only would be 0% for non wounded survivors),

the incentive is that rank1 is where the most challenge is and thus where you develop the most skill.

If you are already at rank 1 how much skill can you make that you dont already have since..well its rank 1

You perfection the art of running in circles.

Alternative option stay at rank without being a looping master and learn how to get better with all facets of gameplay, maps layouts, skill checks, characters, perk mastery etc.

This game is a 16 survivor perks versus 4 killer perks, and the survivor perks are impactful on their own (some make you waste a lot of time), so to balance this problem you could give 6 perk slots to the killers.

I really wish killers would stop using that logical fallacy argument, it's simply not true since each survivor has 4 perks, not 16. Oh sure there's 16 total perks survivor side but how often do killers complain that it's 4 man swf DS/DH/SB/SC squads or insert AD in that lineup.

If you got to bring 6 perk slots you'd be completely op above and beyond a Nurse on steroids and some killer perks are just as impactful. The extra perk slots aren't the problem but how the maps are designed as well as other things. Those extra perks aren't going to stop looping or gen rushing, they'll just make end game NOED op.
