16 vs 4
HEAR ME OUT
Imagine if there was a mode that played like the regular mode where it's a 4v1 and you have to get the gens done to open the gate, HOWEVER upon opening the gates, instead of leading to safety and the end-game screen, it brings you into a bigger map.
This map is also accessed by people from three other games, with all the people who survived their previous games - sort of like a round two- and all the killers are allowed in 20 seconds after the last survivor escapes.
In this massive map, where there could potentially be a total of 4 killers and 16 survivors, a certain amount of generators have to be completed which instead of opening doors, open a blacklock within the map. There can be a total of 4 blacklocks, but each require a certain amount of generators to be done. Killers and survivors from different games could mesh in a crazy game. I reckon it would be the sickest thing.

I've thought of something similar where it opens to a middle area and you end up helping others open their area up by doing gens in the middle. If the killer wipes everyone out on their side they can then go into another side but that'd be op for one side or another really quickly.
The biggest drawback is that it'll never happen with p2p since the connections can't handle it. It'd require dedicated servers and consoles would have a fit trying to run it.
You know that some killers got potato internet, right? That their internet can barely withstand the load of 4 survivors.
Imagine if they're now the proud host of 20 players (16+4)..
Also, I just watched Hitman's trailer the other day, and I really liked the idea of 2 Hitmans starting together in a parallel universe, and have to eliminate the same targets. So in a way, its Hitman vs Hitman. A similar idea would be Killer vs Killer vs survivors, starting in the same entity's realm.
Yeah but this is ignoring the restraints of the current p2p hosting that it has going on, imagine dbd grew enough to be able to provide dedicated servers instead. Would you fw the idea?
I get that, but purely from an idea basis, if dbd could somehow manage dedicated servers, would be pretty cool imo
You'd also have to have the game optimised much better which realistically requires the new code before any of the rest of that comes out. Some console users with bad internet or lower tier consoles would still suffer.,
If done right it could be awsome!
I think it would highly favor the killers.
A balanced game by the devs is considered around 2 kills. so, if you got 4 balanced matches, you would have 8 survivors vs 4 killers, and that would basicly mean that one killer can always camp the hook, while the others patrol the gens or hunt survivors.
The thing is, you would have 1-16 players in the endmap, but always 4 killers, unless the first map had a mechanic to trap/neutralize the killer.
