Say you’re kidnapped and taken to an abandoned building and your friends come to rescue you and you see the kidnapper with a knife hiding behind some boxes. As your friends approach he is ready to lunge. Wouldn’t you scream: watch out, the madguy is hiding there!? It sounds logic :P

Don't bring logic into an argument when a survivor staring a generator can somehow have 360° vision.

i understand the killer main fan boys are going to say he is not op, but he is exacty that. He stalks up way too fast, don't care what anyone says. I got plenty of stream proof to provide more than enough video evidence of him tiering up in seconds, and every ghost face killer in the game doing nothing but camping, tiering up in seconds.

It is so sad it's a joke.

Against a SWF, he's mid-low tier thanks to VoIP. Against solos, he's pretty balanced. Let's see this "stream proof" you claim to have. Or are you afraid that it will confirm what everyone already thinks - you're just bad at survivor?

  • LhCQRMf.png

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done it already, even with upwards of 10min queue times, playing solely GF since I bought him. I still have 20+ cakes left to use to farm up BP to spend on survivors (though I have no intention of doing so).The event was plenty long enough with enough people popping cakes to get one major goal accomplished that you can set for yourself, such as P3 a killer/survivor.

If you failed to do that, you're doing it wrong.

That would stop anybody from exploring alternative builds, people would just run the same builds constantly for the same play styles, and then have complaints when the game gets "boring"

So, what people are already doing and have been doing for literally years now?

  • This only applies if the survivor is visible. If they break your NS behind a wall, it doesn't show the orange blip, which honestly is ######### bullshit and another way SWF are just bullying the killer.

But hey, he needs to be nerfed, right?

  • @JESUS_CHRIST said:

I doubt he'll ever be able to be consistent at the highest ranks but it's still kind of hard to tell where he'll fall beings people on both ends still haven't completely felt him out. I was on a streak of getting spanked until I just started stabbing people. They're already getting comfortable having a little time extra while you stalk so you can usually just go in and get your first hit easy it seems.

He'll be low tier, just like the rest of the M1 killers (Myers, Wraith, Pig, etc.). At least in my games, people are already learning to abuse the detection perks to cancel NS, and if not that then they're grouped in 2 to make sure someone is always staring during chases.

  • Against a 3-4 SWF, yep, you're lucky to get 1 kill thanks, yet again, to VoIP. Dodge every SWF lobby. You'll find that your games will drastically improve when they can't easily coordinate to ######### you on your NS on cast and tell each other where you're going and from where.

    1. Play as 3-4 SWF
    2. Announce where he's going and from where over VoIP
    3. Always be paired up if possible so you can screw him out of his NS as soon as it's cast
    4. Loop
    5. Drop Pallet
    6. Finish Gens
    7. Teabag in exits

Same as every other M1 killer.

  • Hell no, there should be 2x BP every new character release to make up for the absolutely insane amount of BP it takes to P3-50 said character with the perks you actually want.

  • Staring at him doesn't instantly kill his NS anymore, thank deity. He's already pretty much useless against a competent SWF, being able to instantly deny his power was ridiculous.

If his expose went off while you were staring at him, it means your meter was near full and he got it off before you canceled his NS.

Working as intended. Learn the mechanics before you complain.

  • Given that the majority of the playerbase are survivors, this would be a terrible idea. They would just keep voting out any killer that is more than a M1 spammer, over 50 move speed, and isn't automatically stunned when entering a pallet's area before the pallet is even dropped (and subsequently stunned again when it is).

This is easily proven by the amount of crying about the only 3 good killers in the game, and the review bombing anytime something happens that makes it so they can't bully killers.

  • Short Answer

    • Survivor: Escape
    • Killer: 4 kills

    Long Answer

Survivor: The objective is to escape. Failing to complete the objective is a loss.

Killer: There are 4 survivors and the objective is to kill all of them, not some. Failing to complete the objective is a loss.

Any self designated "goals" or "win conditions" are not applicable since they are not the intent or main objective of the game. Anything other than or short of completing the main objective of the role you are playing is a loss by definition.

  • 2 Words: Herd Mentality

  • You are clearly playing wrong.

Tired of survivors calling you a "toxic" killer and constantly DCing against you?

And if you get too frustrated, just take the official BHVR advice:

    https://clips.twitch.tv/ExcitedPeppySamosaTinyFace

  • True, but it's still not as common as people think it is. And again, all these were simultaneous, which is not gonna happen when 1 person "pulls the plug", which completely invalidates that.

  • Asides for the already mentioned change of last survivor, the hatch will still spawn under the same usual conditions.

Gens complete = alive survivors + 1 = hatch spawn

  • @jus_Ignant said:

You would think the forums would be littered with survivors complaining about constantly being disconnected if there were that many involuntary disconnects. I'm a 'survivor main' who dabbles with Killer and I'm not buying it.

You can not buy it all you want, but realize that the experience is vastly different between survivor and killer. This is gonna be a long one, bear with me because it requires a lot of explaining since people who don't suffer this issues don't know what to look for. Hell, even people who do don't know.

When playing survivor, I see and get IDC'd WAY less than when I play killer. Sometimes it's several games in a row, sometimes I can go entire sessions without seeing/experiencing one. So what's the difference? I'm not the killer, thus not the host.

Since the entire connection is based on the killer, if the killer doesn't suffer from the IDC issue then everything is fine. But if you get into a lobby with one, well then it's a gamble if you're going to get to play the whole game. And you have no idea until it's too late.

"Why don't survivors complain about IDCs then?"

Well, that's a simple one. As a survivor, if you are IDC'd you just go to the score screen as usual and you typically have no idea it even happened. Why? Because the entire process looks like the killer RQ'd, and we all know survivors LOVE when they can get a killer to RQ. So instead of going "Hey, maybe I/we got IDC'd..." they go "ROFL MAD KILLER MAD RQ'D" and go to the next match. Literally the only way I know when I get IDC'd is if I'm in a duo and he's still in the game and I'm not. But if we both get IDC'd, it just looks like the killer RQ'd, not knowing that we were both IDC'd, and we move on to the next game.

Now, the quirk here is that when playing a killer, IDCs don't happen to you - they still happen to the survivors. On rare occasions only 1 member of a SWF has IDC'd and their teammates tell me in post chat that their buddy got DC'd when they entered a locker, while working on their gen, etc. The more... colorful ones start crying about "hacks" and start spamming the report button.

So taking all this into account, yes, killers are far more likely to complain about IDCs because a) they're the ones who actually see it and b) they don't know they're the ones actually causing them. They just see DC after DC after DC after DC, almost every game and think "omfg the survivors are such babies now!" Survivors? They just think the killer RQ'd, pat themselves on the back for being "too skilled", and requeue for the next match.

At first, yeah, it looks random. But after months of this, it's become pattern but sadly the cause still eludes me.

I guess you are lucky then.

From games I watched and played great majority are RQ(with a sound). My sample is probably less significant as I don't like to play games against 2 survivors because other 2 DC as soon as they go down.

It's not a matter of luck. As I said, there are a shitload of other players complaining about people "DCing against them every game", most of them don't even know about the IDC issues that popped up back in March.

In my case, everything was fine up until the Plague patch back in March. Since her release day, this has been my experience every game since. I don't know if there was a netcode change, maybe something with EAC (which is garbage as we all know), but something happened that affected a lot of people. Everything was 100% fine before that patch, and the best we've gotten on the matter is "We're looking into it" with no updates on this particular issue since.

And of course, the people who aren't affected claim that it's "normal" and "DCs are just on the rise".

  • 1 person pulling a cord doesn't cause 1+ other people to disconnect in a simultaneous fashion. The true over-exaggeration is the likeliness of someone actually getting up just to unplug their cable to exit a match. I'd wager that about 99% of DCs are NOT someone wasting the time and effort to pull their ethernet.

  • Not everything is handed to you, it must be earned.

We live in an age of participation trophies, and I'm willing to bet that the majority of the whiners have one on their shelf somewhere. Taking that into consideration, it's self explanatory at that point.

  • Make sure you follow the rules, that's it.

yes, those things are annoying, but when you disconnect, you are screwing over your team, which makes THEM want to disconnect, what about when you play a map offering and because the killer doesnt like the map on their killer, they dc immediately and you lose your map, thats annoying right? same logic items, perks, offerings, they are all in the game, whether we like them or not, doesnt give us the right to disconnect from the game because we dont wanna go against them, do i wanna go against an IH huntress? insidious leatherface? 4 blink nurse? no, but does that mean i have the right to disconnect and deny them a game, no, and it works both ways, if i dont like a map for my killer, ill play it out, take the depip if i dont do well, an get the points, its like there are nothing but entitled pre-teen crybabies playing this game now that only wanna play the game if they are winning (defined obviously by getting a 4k or going out the exit gate waiting as long as possible)

The argument is countered by one simple fact: Players are playing for THEIR enjoyment, not to make sure everyone else is being entertained. It also says it right in the game's description that you can team up or go solo, thus there is no obligation or requirement to care about your "teammates".

I don't support DCing, but if you're going to bring in "rights", then make sure you're considering all the facts before getting on that soapbox and trying to tell people what they have to do when they clearly don't.

DCing just because you don't want to play the match is unacceptable period. Whether its a killer, addons, map, you didn't get the perfect start, whatever. Unless something IRL comes up, don't queue for a game if you're gonna leave it

Not sorry, but I definitely read this as a "anti-abortion" argument:

Abortion just because you don't want to have the kid is unacceptable period. Whether its #########, incest, broke condom, failed vasectomy, whatever. Unless it's life threatening, don't get pregnant if you're gonna abort it

  • @Peanits said:

We brushed upon this in the recent May developer update. Right now our system for punishing disconnects is not ideal, but we are already in the planning phase for a new system that is expected to launch at the same time as dedicated servers this summer. Unfortunately this system will depend on dedicated servers to work, so until then, we are stuck with the current system. There is some good news on that front, though, another wave of DC bans has just started going out.

We know it's frustrating and all I can say is that we are working on it. It is our top priority at the moment.

Given that 95% of my DCs are involuntary, this is concerning.

OP, involuntary DCs have been affecting a LOT of people for several patches now, but don't worry, they're "looking into it" for 2 months now (aka just brushing it under the rug until dedicated).

  • Left game, returned to title menu, that was the screen. Not very helpful, huh?

  • Survivors can hook the killer.

  • Yes, because that's what we need. More useless event currency that just sits in our offerings after the event has passed.

    BP multiplier, all we need.

  • Farming is not bannable. Welcome to DbD.

  • You're opening a huge bag of entitled rage responses to the effect of "Don't buy every perk", "I have every killer P3-50", and/or "it's your own fault for the grind".

And yes, I speak from experience:

That's not what he said. Why are you pretending he said something he didn't say?

Cooperative farming is not intended as "normal gameplay" and is also "working with the killer/survivor". Technically, it violates multiple supposedly reportable offenses. Now we're being told they don't ban for it. Which is it?

  • @Peanits said:

We do not ban for farming alone. We'll only step in if someone is farming at another player's expense. For example, if you and one of the survivors team up to kill one of the other survivors by repeatedly unhooking and immediately downing them.

So "refusing to participate in normal gameplay" in the report descriptions is just for show?

  • @Boss said:

I wonder if the Survivors will once again be able to cancel a nerf using backlash and negative reviews.

That's usually the way it works.

  • I'm not. Crying about a needed rework on perk is destroying the game, nevermind all the free ones killers have to deal with on a regular basis.

  • @Usui said:

We've cried about nurse for 3 years and still nothing, at this point it's very obvious what their intentions are. Cash grabs and killer bias.

Let me guess, you're perfectly fine with SWF VoIP too, despite it giving everyone 10+ free perks/counters, amirite?

  • @thrawn3054 said:

@Dwight_Fairfield I'll never understand why survivors are such ######### when they have an easy game. Like okay the killer struggled here and you won. Why are you being a dick about it?

Because most survivors nowadays aren't playing against a "video game killer", they're playing directly against the person behind the keyboard as a conquest to prove how "bad they are" and purposely try to ruin the person's fun.

In short, your average survivor is a masochist, playing to piss off and upset another player rather than playing for fun.

  • I don't know why devs think the only way to get the game balance is nerfing survivors over and over.

I don't know why survivor mains think the only way to get the game balance is by having multiple 2nd chance perks to get away from the killer when caught over and over. They gave to survivor main community the Benny Hill killers for almost 3 years never complaining about it and now they want to cry about another nerf to another a stackable 2nd chance perk that helps them to get a second third fourth chance since DS is still commonly used, only because some people are unable to deal with it getting caught in their matches or they're bad at chases or they don't use mind games and they only complain about it instead improving as survivor. (I play survivor too and MoM is an issue to me, I can catch 1 non-MoM/DS/SB/BT/Adrenaline quickly while the rest need to be hit 4+ times, by which point a competent SWF with VoIP already has 4 gens done)

Please OP, MoM's nerf needs to happen. The perk is too good as it is now. Stop trying to bring back the "good old Benny Hill days".

    Fixed for accuracy.

  • What they say and what is reality are two completely different things.

  • Because the issues are not fixed. There are plenty of people, myself included, that are still experiencing ridiculous amount of involuntary DCs. Something is either wrong with the game or the garbage EAC.

For me, everything was fine up until the Plague patch. After that, it's been iDCs at MINIMUM 40% of the games played, whether it is me or others.

There is a difference between more difficult and unplayable

Alternatively, they can add additional lockers if the particular killer is being used. Wouldn't imagine it'd be that hard since it's already done to put in Jigsaw Boxes and Pools of Devotion.

  • Feel bad? Maybe, but empathy went out the window a long time ago. After thousands games with the common toxic SWF/killers, I stopped caring about other people's feelings in the game and play purely for my personal entertainment.

While I agree with you that survivors complain wayyyyy to much so do killers just wanted to point that out

Killers do complain, but not nearly to the level that survivors do.

The problem is that survivors got too happy with the years, Y-E-A-R-S, of being able to bully all but 2 killers all game, every game so that now anything that knocks them down a peg or brings a killer up to a semi-powerful stage is "game ruining", "unfun" and/or "killing the game".

  • @Kamikaze_Rose said:

And what, pray tell, does Mr. Face do on maps with few lockers, such as the Swamp realm?

Same thing that trapper does on The Game and Léry's Memorial Institute, just deal with what you have. It's common knowledge that not all maps are ideal for all killers.

  • @Hoodied said:

@Orion That is sad, the entitlement required for that to happen is absurd

Welcome to a game where the majority of the playerbase is entitled survivors who throw tantrums every time one of their OP perks are balanced.
