  • "I as a Killer will ALWAYS attempt to farm so we can share and walk away in an ok shape."

You, along with myself, are the minority, and survivors know this.

The reason why the devs "walk on eggshells" is because the moment survivors get a significant nerf to something that prevents them from bullying killers, or hold them accountable for being toxic, they review bomb the hell out of the game until they get their way again.

    Welcome to DbD.

Was playing solo survivor mid-day and didn't exactly get a match in the skillgroup I usually get maches in. Happens quite often and I personally dislike it as it's unfair for killer (I've been there A LOT as killer) :/

Interesting. I usually see this type of matchup if its a R1 + R15 duo. Well, USED to see it before the recent changes. Pretty good job so far.

I'm sick and tired of seeing people say it but never say why. The perk has ALREADY gone through SEVERAL nerfs and nerfing anymore will break it to the point where it's completely useless OR it needs a whole new effect like Tinkerer got. So please, someone tell me why you feel it needs to be nerfed, as of right now I think those people are complete noobs and stupid but if you have a valid reason please tell me because I don't like judging people.

Also why not offer your rework?

Because if there is anything that allows a survivor to be hooked, it needs to be nerfed. If they had it their way, the killer would literally only be able to walk from the start spawn to the gate, then forced to sit there for teabagging once the gates are open.

Hi, I'm going to ban you from the forum because your posts aren't deemed good enough to be on here, less than 30% of them have had reactions.

17 unique reactions across 52 posts (including this one) exceeds 30% (33%) so I would be fine. :);)

  • @Entità said:
    It would be illegal, too.

Game developers can ban at their discretion for any reason they see fit. Players don't own the game, only the ability to play it on their terms. Player agrees to those terms in the form of a TOS, which can be changed at any point and time. Hell, they could amend "anyone who doesn't spend X $$ per month cannot play (also known as a "subscription")" and it's 100% legal, as proven by any subscription based game.

EDIT: And before anyone pipes up "there's a difference between being banned and restricted access for not paying a sub", reread my original post that clearly states "restricted to KYF", not a full ban from the game.

    1) You need to look up the definition of "literally" and try again
    2) I'm far from seething. I've literally been chuckling, if not full out laughing, at every reply thus far.

A lot of people are making fun of you (with good reason, honestly)

As I've stated before, I couldn't care less since not a single person here effects me in life in any way, shape or form. Gonna take a bit more than a few internet nobodies disagreeing with me to get me riled up. Just text on a screen to me.

I've posted my "wish", on the appropriate thread, to which people are welcome to disagree with. The fact that so many have turned their responses from debates over the wish to personal attacks, clearly violating the very first community rule:

Do not insult, harass or flame other forum members

... has turned this into just entertainment at this point. It's particularly interesting that a moderator has chosen to ignore by replying themselves, although their response is objectively debated to the topic itself, still proves they're intentionally looking past the other non-constructive, ad hominem responses. But that's their prerogative I suppose.

Feel free to lock the thread; I've said my piece, which again can be freely disagreed with, but it's a pretty safe bet any further responses by those who lack the ability to debate objectively will instead continue to attack personally and accomplish nothing for their efforts (see: grisstyl, Jack11803, etc.).

So, you want to be able to play with people at your skill level, and not with people who are lower skilled.

If only there was some sort of..... System... That could... Sort players together like that...

No, that is not what I said at all. I said people who consistently lose 30%+ shouldn't be a hindrance to everyone else because they refuse to "get gud" as A_Simple_Pig has put it. Which is ironic since when you think about it is exactly what this all boils down to - "get gud" or "get out" - which should really be the basis for any competitive game that has a ranking system.

But that's just me, and you're welcome to disagree.

Welp, considering a) you have ZERO influence on my life and b) I have ZERO influence on your life, I promise that I'm not scared/intimidated/impressed or whatever you're trying to portray by this comment. You really should've just moved on because, once again, your response has done exactly... NOTHING.

  • @chococri said:
Do you realize this is harsh, right? Besides, what if some has the bad luck to die 1st without touching a gen because the killer is facecsmping or tunneling them in several games in a row? Also, there are people better at hiding than running away in chases. This is harsh and no sense.

Then they shouldn't be playing public games. We're talking escaping 1 out of 3 games or failing to get 2 kills per game every 3 games. Statistics posted by the devs themselves considers these to be"average" and quite honestly not that hard to accomplish for either role.

  • And clearly I have not. What's your next move now, I wonder? I'd wager posting another reply that will yield the same results - nothing.

Again, disagree with my wish all you want, that's your prerogative, but just do yourself a favor - save your time and just move on to another thread that may listen to "what you want them to do" because I can't make it any clearer that will not be me.

    Leave, you suck at ideas.

Rofl, and if I don't you'll do what tough guy? It's fine if you disagree with my idea, but don't try to bark orders at me when you a) lack any sort of authority whatsoever and b) lack any way to enforce them. Let me know when you get over yourself and we can have a civil discussion. Until then, please leave your 3rd grade playground bullshit where it belongs.

    1. Start a game
    2. Pick a spot
    3. Throw hatchets at spot all game
    4. For live targets, no worries, 95% of survivors will come to you to troll you for your aiming and volunteer themselves as moving targets thinking they're "pro"
    5. Profit

Didn't think this needed to be explained.

no. get better internet or do not que in competitive games. bye.

I'm good with just not hosting as killer, at least until BHVR stops being cheap and gets dedicated servers. "Better internet" is not an option for some people and have to deal with what they have. It's like telling someone not to drive to work because they have a Prius instead of a Ferrari.

You DC intentionally as Killer or Survivor you clearly are salty, and tilted and need to take the day off the game.

This is not the case at all. I'm not going to be a liar and say I've never DC'd a game before, but not because of "being salty" or "tilted". 99% of the time is either:
1.as survivor, killer literally facecamps on first hook (yes I'm aware of the new changes to discourage this) when he knows for a fact no one is around (I see them on the other side of the map)
    2. as killer, a SWF (confirmed, I check before I even hit ready) is clearly there just to bully me all game in contrast to trying to keep me distracted (2-3 surrounding to flashlight spam, teabagging at exit for 5+ minutes, etc.)

Other times, the game crashes or my IP takes a ######### for like 2-3 minutes. In short, not every DC is intentional because "they're salty".

1 and 2 are literally the definition of DCing because you are salty.

There's a difference between "being salty" (in reference to being mad about losing) and wanting to have a fun game, win or lose, without dealing with children just wanting to make the player themselves miserable "for the lulz" (or whatever stream they're currently running in hopes of being an Ochid0 clone).

To put it into another scenario, it's like going to an arcade (showing my age, I know) to play some fighting game for fun with others and a group of kids show up, ######### talking and kicking your shins the entire time, not caring about playing at all, just to simply piss you off.

If you can't see the difference, then there's nothing left to discuss with you on the matter.

    1. If you are being Face camped, just try to kobe, then die. No DC needed.

    2. Survivors SWF trolling you?, face an exit handle, then go make a sandwhich. No DC needed.

Yes your solution is purely salt driven.

As for the Arcane. That's when you tell the manager or an Employee whats going on and get them kicked out.

    1. I've actually started doing this, despite my distaste for the killer being rewarded for wasting my time.
    2. Or I can just leave because a) you know full well that said survivors will drag the game out as long as possible even if you don't engage them and b) afking is actually reportable offense

If wanting to enjoy my time playing is "being salty", then guilty as charged I suppose.

  • @Aari_Piggy66 said:
Now how exactly would you put outplayed the killer into context. Because if you're one of those people who urban evasion  around and do absolutely nothing you shouldn't be rewarded for that shine or technicality unless the killer is lucky and happens to bump into you, you won't actually in be found by them but it's still not something you should be rewarded for.

Using Urban Evasion to just run around the map until everyone else finishes the gens for you? Clearly not, and that would be represented by lack of progress on the other emblems. I use UE myself and still do gens and rescues while escaping unseen. That is what I consider as being "outplayed" and "successfully evaded the killer".

Yes, and it is by purposeful design. The Devs want some sort of engagement between the two sides, not simply avoiding the killer entirely, popping gens, and rushing the door. Which is why Evader is designed how it is. You might feel that by completely avoiding the killer and their terror radius all game that you won. And depending on your preferred way to play, you might be right. By the Dev's game design, however, you will not get advancement in the Evader emblem because that is not how the designers want the game to be played. Therefore, that play-style does not reward Evader emblem advancement.

By the Dev's design choices for DBD, engaging the terror radius near the killer and being unseen (bigger risk) or being seen and chased and escaping (bigger risk) is how they want the game played. Avoiding killer entirely all game (lesser risk) isn't worthy of a reward. They want risk and engagement to take place in a DBD match.

They have wanted this and enforced this since the game's launch. If you prefer to be rewarded for a different type of play-style, you simply aren't going to be. Whether that is right or wrong is immaterial, too. It is simply how DBD has been designed to be played.

Fair enough, why not go both ways? Sure, you outplayed the killer by not being seen, earn less BP because it "wasn't a challenge", but get a bonus towards pipping so get you boosted towards more skilled killers that you are not as likely to get away unseen.

YES YES YEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!! This is a good solution...But we all know the dev's WONT...Put simply, they dont want to put people of playing their game!

The only people who would "suffer" from this are the kids who DC constantly. Everyone else would be fine. My guesstimate would be MAYBE 3% of the overall playerbase.

  • Which is exactly my point in general. You outplayed the killer, avoided detection and escaped yet you are awarded less than if you stand out in the open, loop the killer for 5 min and still die by the end of the game. In the latter, I've personally pulled Gold+ before, thus why I can't wrap my head around the logic of playing better = less reward.

  • @Vortexas said:
    Better idea.

You DC you are banned from playing for the rest of the day. No limit to these bans, no stacking of time or increases.

You DC you are done for the day. Intentional or not.

I'm a fan of the progressive punishment, but immediate as you suggest.

    First DC -> 30min
    Second DC -> 1 hour
    Third DC -> 24 hour

    @Orion said:

  • Yet another post coming from a salty survivor who are angry that after 2 years of being able to bully 90% of the killers are finally going to have to take their own advice and "git gud".

Sorry dbd but you're ruining the fun out of this game, you're nerfing survivors way too hard and I don't honestly care but I already have to wait a lot in the lobby ( as stated on player count only 14 000 playing where there used to be over 30 000 ) It's not even fun as a killer, my last 5 matches with hag were 4 man kills with 5 gen active at rank 8 ( a skilled killer is overkill especially if you can place traps midchase)
Not to mention the pain console players go through with the ######### optimisation, yet you re still charging full price and anything

  • Survivor Secrets EXPOSED 3

Survivors only want 3 simple things out of every game:
    1) Fast, easy wins (escape)
    2) Harass the killer player as much as possible and ensure they get as little as possible from the match
    3) A reason to report every killer after every game

It solves the "RANK 20's" with 4 purple perks and purple items/addons from crushing our brand new people and tainting the game for them. Often causing them to just refund the game.

No, it doesn't. People who want to harass rank 20s clearly don't care about their rank and will just DC if they think they're going to pip from a match.

People can call me pessimistic all they want, I'll be looking forward to the apologies 2-3 weeks after it's implemented when the forums are still spammed with "new" players complaining about others who keep DCing to avoid ranking up so they can get EZWINS.
