  • Easy, they find out what they changed that is making people randomly DC. For example, my issues didn't start until the Plague patch was introduced. Before that, everything was fine.

  • -Hide in lockers (a whole killer desinged about lockers maybe?)

Me and a couple buddies actually came up with an entire killer power designed for lockers specifically for Ghostface after we learned the half-assed power he's coming with. To say the least, it was a lot more interesting that the garbage that is coming.

No it's been a thing for a while and mentioned in a few other posts, hopefully it gets picked up/fixed soon. It's happened to me personally a while ago, just after finishing a gen and other players were still in the match. Pretty rare for most, but it's definitely a problem.

    I wouldn't count on it.

    @Peanits said:

Yes, that is being looked into as well.

Note the date. Not a peep since.

  • Haddonfield have KIllers, The Game have Survivors

If you are outside the refund window on the platform you purchased the DLC on, there's unfortunately nothing that can be done. As stated in the game's End User License Agreement (EULA), anything is subject to change at any time if it is deemed necessary.

IMPORTANT: BHVR MAY FIND IT NECESSARY TO MAKE UPDATES, OR RESET CERTAIN PARAMETERS TO BALANCE GAME PLAY AND USAGE OF THE GAME AND BHVR SERVICES. THESE UPDATES OR “RESETS” MAY CAUSE YOU SETBACKS WITHIN THE GAME AND MAY AFFECT CHARACTERS, GAMES, GROUPS OR OTHER ENTITLEMENTS UNDER YOUR CONTROL. BHVR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE THESE UPDATES AND IS NOT LIABLE TO YOU FOR THESE CHANGES.

That EULA appears when you first launch the game. If you missed it, you can also find it posted here: https://store.steampowered.com/eula/381210_eula_0

If EULA's were actually legally binding, you could throw in stuff like "After purchase, you agree to sign over your house, car, etc. as permanent ownership to Behavior." and since literally maybe 1% of people actually read them, you could be making a killing.

Personally, I'd love to see this. Make it happen.

  • Is there a limit for you, that as a killer you say: "Okay. ######### this. Enough. I will facecamp, camp, tunnel, you." ? If yes, when do you start?

No limit, do it right off the bat. Survivors have no "limit" for teabagging, looping, flashlight spamming, etc. so why should you?

  • If you look closely at it, you can clearly tell that it's just a shorter Wraith model with a different head.

  • Buy? Hell no. I have enough shards built up for the next 3 releases. I stopped giving these guys money long ago after the shitshow the latest 5 or 6 patches have been.

  • So, apparently we've been upgraded! Now when you involuntarily DC midgame, you're told the match is "cancelled due to a player not fully loading".

So glad to see stability still isn't a priority based on the latest patch notes addressing literally ZERO fixes.

  • Who does this? The same people that threw an absolute ######### fit over an accidental Starbucks cup left in Game of Thrones.

  • If by "adapted" you mean "review bomb the game until they get what they want", then yes you are correct.

  • In short, the only reason killers are not just stationary NPCs is so that survivors have the pleasure of knowing that their "skillz" is actually affecting another human being. BHVR is sadistic that way.

  • ynS8twI.png

FYI, I'm running solo, so there's that....

  • And anyone who knows statistics can easily tell the charts that were specifically not sorted by rank in order to make the numbers look better.

Anyone who takes their "report" seriously is part of the problem.

  • @Hoodied said:

Because it only changes 2 things, tells you hex locations and who the killer is, (Not apart of it)and I seemingly do fine against 4 man SWFs

    2 things? ROFL.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/60377/voip-doesnt-give-that-big-of-an-advantage

And if anyone claims that the majority of SWF don't use VoIP, you're quite delusional.

  • Because they don't want to kill their spacebars on the obsolete mechanic.

  • What. In. The. Actual. #########.

    UEHVQLa.png

  • BPS -> Killer DCs

    Escape Cake -> Involuntary DC

Survivor Pudding -> Survivors [involuntary] DC

In short, running this event while a large portion of the playerbase is still suffering involuntary DCs was a dumb idea.

  • And it keeps going!

    vm9jA4g.png

  • Man, so glad that the matchmaking is balanced!

    v01Dxyc.png

  • Still going strong!

    erqFpsm.png

  • As a killer: survivors see you bring survivor pudding, they disconnect. Also high rank survivors SWF with lower rank for easy points.

    So uninstall. Problem solved.

  • I'm saying this as a survivor main too. I will play killer for a ritual and I get so much salt at the end it's ridiculous.

You must be new, because this has been known for literally years now.

  • @PeepingPeacock said:

SWF isnt gonna get nerfed, its not gonna happen.

The best you can hope for is solo survivors are buffed to be around SWF in terms of information and every killer gets buffed to deal with that.

They already said they want to do exactly this, except the part about buffing killers to compensate. BHVR seems to have the same mindset as survivors - "the free perks with VoIP are perfectly balanced, killers just need to git gud".

  • @FSB775

as well as the spoon fed notification to survivors is a bit much in my opinion.

Once upon a time, the game didn't shoot off fireworks and have a nuclear strike alarm to alert the rest of survivors when a hex perk had been triggered. You can thank the dev's decision to "bring solo comms up to SWF VoIP comms" for that. While the intentions were good, it completely destroyed the entire mechanic to near uselessness.

  • 5 perk slots is asinine. All totems need are better spawn locations.

But the over dozen free perks with VoIP in SWF isn't? Pick you battles wisely here.

  • I would like to see this happen just to see what effect it has on the game and wait times.

I would like to see any and all VoIP users permabanned for using 3rd party software as it violates the very clearly written rule that forbids such things. Looks like neither of us are getting what we want.

  • @Kagrenac said:

As they are now Hex Perks are too powerful for a "Dedicated slot". They would need to be pretty ######### to constitute the killer having 5 perks.

Stopped reading at "Hex Perks are too powerful" since you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

  • The chase music needs to be addressed before anything else since it literally effects EVERYONE.

  • @HarryToeknuckles said:

Possible D/C fix? Public shaming of the D/C'ers - save & share the video, posting the platform you were playing on and their user name. If their profile brags about being toxic share a screen grab of that, too.

Of course we know this won't work (or fly), but it could be entertaining.

So, since literally everyone has DC'd at some point, we'll assume you're going to lead by example and post your info then? No? Then why would you suggest it about someone else?

  • Clearly you are not combining it with Ace in the Hole. I run both and I'm consistently pulling red keys and purple toolboxes/flashlights every game.

  • Tired of survivors calling you a "toxic" killer and constantly DCing against you?

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

For many of these there is the unreliable assumption that someone is guaranteed to know the location of any given totem/gen and the Killer at any given moment in order to relay the information in the first place.

For the ally tracking perks this holds true. However for perks like Object and Detectives Hunch it does not.

Also both Breakdown and Distortion have a tangible effect and are not information gathering perks. Thus VOIP does not replicate their effects even in theory.

Knowing that the Killer has BBQ thus hide behind gens is A: Not hard to figure out as solo anyways, B: Assumed to begin with because of how common it is and C: Not the sole value of distortion which also has scratch mark removal and immunity to aura reading in ADDITION to BBQ's (such as Scratch mirror, Nurses calling, Bitter Murmur, Freddy etc)

But yeah, Killer and objective tracking perks don't belong on this list. Hell some people even run Spine chill for vault speed increase (which I'm not sure even exists).

Also VOIP does not counter Beast of Pray at all. That perk is useless enough to counter itself.

More importantly though if you don't think you are in a chase when you clearly are why would anyone else magically know to correct you?

In fact most of the Killer counter's you listed are techniques that work just fine as solo survivor, specifically BBQ, Nurses, Rancor/STBFL* (remember the pregame chat exists to list your perk combos) Territorial and Whispers.

Note: VOIP IS really strong. But this list includes too many things which just ends up hurting your credibility.

*Rancor and STBFL look identical using the listed method of noticing it.

I'm not concerned with my "credibility". To summarize, you're basically saying that everything I listed doesn't matter if people are not paying attention and communicating. If you are in a SWF and you're NOT communicating and keeping tabs on each other then they're the minority.

As I originally stated, I have personally said and have had said to me everything on this list during my SWF games. If other SWF + VoIP groups are less coordinated, that's their choice.

    Iron Maiden

"Just got exposed after leaving a locker, Killer has Iron Maiden. Avoid lockers for the rest of the round!"

    Mad Grit

"Killer had no cooldown after a missed attack while carrying me / wiggle meter froze. Dont bodyblock!"

    Hangmans Trick

"Hook immediately respawned after i took it down. Dont try to sabotage!"

    Thrill Of The Hunt

"Killer has TOTH, focus dull totems!", "I am at a Hex totem, go to the other one and start cleansing at the same time!"

just a few you missed ^^

(i know TOTH is a hex totem, but since it has its own, unique strategy i felt like adding it)

I didn't miss them, I purposely skipped ones that still give highly noticable notifications outside of VoIP, such as noticing the screams with Iron Maiden. Thanks though for trying to help.

Prestiging has always been a time sink. Do it if you have the time, otherwise just keep your characters equipped with the stuff you want and don't prestige them

Time sink is fine. I've full P3-50 several characters. The problem is that with each new character/perk set, the time increases exponentially. So if you decide "hey, I'm going to level up and prestige character X that I've never touched", it'll take far longer than any of the previous grinds.

@Sythalin Death Garden already has dedicated servers, so there are employees with some experience.

True, and those were hit or miss as well as far as connection quality. The other difference is that their net code was based on a dedicated infrastructure from the start. With DbD, they're trying to get their already buggy ass code to be compatible with a new dedicated network, which is a recipe for disaster for a least the first week.

    He was just asking dude.

You're so pissy at the moment.

Not pissy in the slightest, I'm just blunt. Don't like it, stop clicking every comment on my profile just so you can keep typing "you're so pissy".

  • You’re being so dramatic for only 3 rank difference.

Oh, you're totally right, because wider gaps never happen. Oh wait, what's this....?

You started another thread being pissed off about everything.

If solo survivors can't flail to alert everyone else that the killer is camping, then the Sacrifice Timer should stop when the killer is within 32 meters.

    I'll be okay with it.

Every flail should count as a full attempt to escape.

Literally the entire post. If you read that as being "pissed off about everything", that's on you sport.

The thing is that hosting as the killer on a KYF is just as good as a normal match, how can you tell me that it wont be different from a survivor hosting when dedicated servers come out?

I can asure you that by their database locations, my ping wont be lower than 60ms, probably will be around 60-80ms, as a survivor you cant feel the difference with that ping, but if you play killer its a completely different experience!

Where to even begin with this. I'll try to keep it simple, but given that you don't know the difference between P2P hosting and dedicated hosting, it's pretty much a lost cause anyways.

In theory, dedicated servers are set up on a high speed connection (ideally on a backbone) with high end hardware dedicated purely to running one application multiple times (usually as VMs). The players remote connect to one of the VMs that hosts the game. This ensures that each player is subject to their own latency without impacting everyone else. Again, in theory, it means if you're lagging, and the VMs/server is set up correctly, it's probably you especially if you've had history before the dedicated servers of suffering lag.

But I am also a realist. It sounds like this is the first time this studio has ever played with setting up dedicated servers, and they're working with their own spaghetti code to boot. It's probably going to be a laggy mess the first few weeks until they either a) work out their protocol fuckups or b) hire someone who knows what the hell they're doing.

  • Um, I stopped reading at "survivors were hosting" on a thread with "dedicated servers" in the title.

    Player hosting = P2P networking

    Dedicated servers =/= P2P networking

So which are you actually bitching about again, because you clearly have no idea what you're actually talking about.

@Sythalin me, a snarky #########? Damn, with 3k hours under your belt, it shouldn’t be a problem to get the three new perks, as with that much time, you should have everyone of them maxed out. I’ve got Feng and Amanda p3 with every perk tier three on them, and I’ve only gotten 2k hours on my only account, so I guess I’m just lucky. The problem isn’t the system that’s been in the game since it came out, it’s the people who feel that they’re entitled to their win. If you didn’t get bbq for 60 bloodwebs, then maybe you shouldn’t have unlocked every perk before you got the ones you actually wanted.

Reading comprehension isn't your thing I see. I clearly stated 3k hours over multiple accounts.

But let's assume it's 3k hours on one account. Can you also explain your math to me? You claim at 3k hours, I should have all characters at P3-50 with all perks at T3. Yet you are sadly attempting to brag how you have TWO characters at P3-50 with all perks at T3 with 2k hours.

    2k hours = 2 P3-50 with all T3 perks

    3k hours = ALL P3-50 with all T3 perks

If you didn’t get bbq for 60 bloodwebs, then maybe you shouldn’t have unlocked every perk before you got the ones you actually wanted.

Ah, I suppose you also believe that if a woman didn't want to get raped they shouldn't have worn a skirt too?

I'll just sum this up and be done with you - You are clearly missing the point that others have managed to spend 2 seconds to figure out and I'm not willing to take the time to draw it out in crayon on some cardboard for you to understand.

  • I'm fully aware on how to make sure people are notified; I choose not to. I also see you conveniently ignored my later post on how arm flailing = free kindred perk.

P.S. I don't care that an internet nobody thinks I "look stupid". Feel free to try again when you can actually contribute something more than "you're a stupid head!" like the toddler you portray yourself as.
