I think I'd prefer a higher POV while crouched and a much delayed roar to any of what you mentioned.
Yeah, those changes would be fair too. The roar should be delayed. Honestly I think it's really cheesy anyway. Pigs don't roar like lions, let alone petite women who happen to be wearing pig masks. It's been a while since I've watched the Saw movies but I don't remember Amanda actually roaring like a beast when she grabbed people.

The game isn't broken. A broken game crashes all the time at random and unavoidable intervals, freezes, won't start, has dramatic bugs that completely prevent the ability to properly play it (falling through the ground into a void, etc). This game just needs some adjustment, as most complex games do.
-
How would everybody feel if her crouch, crouched walking speed, and trap countdown were faster? Leave her kit and perks alone but give a bit of a boost to what she's got?

Lol yeah I can definitely see how the title looked sarcastic. Actually wasn't my intent, now I feel like it looks like bait lol. But yeah, nah, today was literally the single best day I've ever had playing this game. It was like 95% positive, almost everything went well. And the things that didn't just didn't matter. I know that a lot of people complain - I was complaining about some unrelated stuff today too - but it's sessions like the one I had today that make me think "man, too many people take this game for granted".

Yeah it's kind of crazy that some survivors seem entitled enough to tell you how you should be playing as killer or survivor. You bought the game so play how you like they're usually just mad because they lost that match so they need someone to blame other than themselves.
It's weird, the complaints I got from survivors happened even if we WON.
The first post-match feedback I ever got, when I was like a week new to the game, was when I was sent to Lery's hospital for maybe the second or third time. The opponent was Demo. I didn't know the map and, I guess, did stay a bit more on the periphery than I should have. But I tried to contribute, I tried really hard to find gens while Demo was skilled enough to get one player to ragequit almost immediately, bringing us to a huge disadvantage right from the start. Meanwhile I'm trying to learn the layout, find the gens, avoid the killer, and a much more experienced player is doing the gens before I can find them. So the match ends (we lost), the KILLER says good game and even apologizes for our disconnect, but all the other remaining survivor has to say is "wow, what a ######### team. One DC and oh hey Mike thanks for just hiding all match while I did all the gens. Useless".
Then, on some other day in some other match, we win, but that's still not enough. "Hey Meg, good job not contributing to the match at all", despite the fact that our point totals were like a thousand apart.

I've had so many killers complain that they were genrushed when after 5 minutes, only one gen had been done. And so often do they whine about the fact we try to survive.
You ARE correct about this. I find complaints about "genrushing" equivalent to complaints about the killer hitting a person again right after they've just been unhooked. I mean that's what they're supposed to do, isn't it?
What does "genrushing" even mean? It sounds like a catch-all buzzword that simply means "the survivors are effective and I don't like that". I mean I prefer to explore and check out the layout for a short time myself but what are survivors supposed to do, wait an arbitrary amount of time just standing there until the killer feels that they've had an adequate chance to get a few hooks in?

Do you play without headphones? Even before the buff I never bothered looking for the shimmer. You can still hear his super loud footsteps and snarling. 150% speed was already the speed survivors got used to because every Wraith under the sun would run purple Windstorm before the buff, so it's nothing new.
He's good now because: 1. He has a bit better chasing potential. 2. He has now a free addon slot, and Wraith has tons of good addons. Sure, that's a huge thing, but not even close to make him oppressive or getting free hits.
To be fair, yes, I do play without headphones. On one hand I don't think that headphones should be mandatory in order to know that a killer is coming, but I also can't lie and say that throwing a pair on wouldn't make things easier.
I hadn't really thought of it before but I HAVE seen many people say "you can hear his footsteps from a mile away" and I was always like "what? He doesn't even MAKE footsteps". I didn't factor in that the majority of players probably play the game with some kind of headset.
@SunderMun said:

That's fair. I'm a decent looper and find there's nothing you can do against him, even in loops, ignoring his cheap, free hit in a deadzone, because he can just block the pallet and uncloak, and you can't even mindgame him to get some distance as he zooms around it.
That's exactly it. I see people complain constantly about Spirit (which is fine, I'm not the hugest fan of playing against her either) but from my perspective they're essentially the same. They're fast, they're quiet, they can disappear at will, and basically once they've smacked you your game is over.
Again, I will readily admit that I need more practice with the game. I'm sure that I've got less experience than 95 percent of the people who wave Nu-Wraith off as no big deal. But I can't help but throw up my hands and say "the guy is invisible until he isn't, then he hits me before I can get away". I mean I posted a video a few weeks ago of me running away SO fast that all you see is a millisecond of his toes uncloaking - literally, you had to know right where to look and all you saw was the very end of just one of his feet starting to sparkle into view - and he still managed to catch right up to (though at least I missed the initial lunge I guess).
An almost completely invisible, almost completely silent (at least without headphones) killer who moves 50% faster than the player, can use aura perks to see you AND uncloak silently and lunge at you so fast that if he's even a few feet from you the INSTANT you notice that he's about to uncloak it still isn't enough time to get away? I mean...can we just go one step further and bring him to S tier by giving him heat-seeking nuclear missiles too?

Yeah the only time a killer has complained to me was if I was playing a stealthy build which is silly because even though I don't do it often it's still a legit playstyle, or I've had the occasional accusation thrown at me that I'm in a SWF even though I only play solo.
Survivors though whenever they complain it's usually when they've made the most silly plays like trying to get hit when they have BT and then calling you a tunneller because you waited it out and downed them lol.
Yeah my time in the game is relatively low, perhaps incredibly so compared to some (about 400 hours) but I think it's interesting that across 400 hours and hundreds upon hundreds of matches, I never had a killer say one negative thing to me ever. Meanwhile I've had probably a dozen survivors make sure I knew that they didn't approve of something I did, or didn't do. Or the killer, or the match, or almost anything.

My guess as for why Wraith is pissing you off now:
Your seeing him more.
Simply put until the recent changes(Higher base Slightly weaker max power) Wraith was very unpopular and rarely played.
This happens with literally every kill that becomes "Flavor of the Month" every single time they become said "Flavor of the Month"
I accept these possibilities to a point, yes. I definitely AM seeing him more. I honestly don't know why he wasn't popular before, I mean how much more does a killer need than super speed and invisibility? I think, from what I've gathered (since SO many people complain about "M1") that over time, as new killers were added to the old original ones, gameplay became more complex and interesting so perhaps the ones like Wraith were seen as dull. Or maybe people got sick of him, I don't know how long it was before the more complicated and / or licensed characters came along.
So I mean I can understand if people just got bored of him or whatever. I see complaints about Trapper as well (which also confounds me, as I've seen some DEEEEVIOUS Trappers out there whose skill I can't help but respect). Meanwhile Billy seems beloved, if supposedly ignored.
Wraith, though? I mean it seems like he'd be the go-to killer for easy 4Ks. Just speed all over the place while invisible and kill everybody. If it wasn't that easy, that tells me that he DID change to become much more cheap. That makes me believe that there WAS a more pronounced pause before his uncloak and his lunge. Plus, before the buff, I never saw a Wraith that could cloak and uncloak without the bell, which is basically his only reliable tell.
So I mean yeah, your observation has merit, but as I said to the other user, I can only report what I've experienced. I do hope you're right in that he's just the flavor of the month and I'll stop seeing him so much though. I started playing at kind of a bad time - within a few days of the All-Kill chapter - so my first month of play was Trickster 15 times a day. He's forever ruined for me (not that I like anything about him to begin with), I'd like it if The Wraith didn't go down the same path. I don't care if I win or lose, I honestly don't. I just want matches to feel fair. And now, when I face the Wraith, they don't.

Tbf, you can't run loops vs wraith anymore.
I definitely wouldn't know, as it's my weakest point while playing this game.
And to be fair I will cop to the fact that if I WERE better at looping I wouldn't hate the Wraith as much as I do know, it's totally valid to say that I need to get better (I'm only about 400 hours in). That said, he didn't feel profoundly cheap before and now he does. That's all I know. I start a match, I carefully make my way around trying to ascertain who the killer is, I try not to jump on a gen right away. Eventually I get on one, or join someone else on OH NO THERE'S THE BELL (if I'm lucky), BAM, free hit, time to run. Okay, it's a Wraith match. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

I honestly feel like I can just turn my brain off and go easy mode when I play wraith.
Im not a great killer by any means but wraith is by far the easiest killer to play now with the most potential. His map pressure is rather insane, and his lunge....
I don’t want to say that he’s oppressive as I’ve had quite a few games against him and as him where his weaknesses can become very apparent, but when played in the hit and run style, he feels extremely strong.
Thank you for that balanced, reasonable summary.

No not all killer mains. I have only used mine with tier 1/2 perks and yellow/brown add-ons and I still think he's A-tier. That's playing at rank 1 as well so if I had not prestiged him before the buff and had good/great perks I could not imagine. My son has been climbing up the ranks using wraith with some top perks BBQ, corrupt, sloppy and idr the last pretty darn fast and he never got past like 7 🙄 but between the lack of competition and wraith be so strong he will probably jump another spot or two. He is 13 survivors step yo game up this aint fortnite smash his ego.

I like the survivor gameplay in general, not just the chases.
I can't stand chases because I don't like to loop. By definition a successful loop is either being good enough to waste the killer's time for a while or to get away. I get away sometimes, I guess I'm moderate at this skill. But tying the killer up? Back and forth for five minutes? Ugh. I wouldn't do it even if I could. To me that's not even playing the game, it's tag simulator. Hell not even tag simulator, it's American Ninja simulator.
Having said that, the chase against the Wraith usually begins by being whacked before you even know he's there. And I don't get the argument that "you should always know he's there if you're good". Maybe if you're spinning the camera 360 degrees around yourself at all times through the entire match, constantly and without end, looking for the tiny little 15 percent shimmer that races up to you from out of nowhere, on maps full of obstacles and atmospheric effects, at 150 percent speed, sure. And then there are people who say "just be by a window". Crap, that's a good point, I should start carrying those around so I'm always near one. Or "you can hear his breathing". Right, again, from a hundred feet away rushing at you from any possible direction at 150 percent speed. Over the sound of generators.
I'm sorry but the people who minimize the Wraith as easy to counter and "B or C tier" consist of two types:
- Experts
- Killer mains who are desperate for the character to be anything other than, in their opinion, garbage (oh no, he M1, he so bad), and thus will aggressively defend ANY improvement to him regardless of how cheap it makes him

His post stealth lunge is literally unchanged from the buffs.
I can't speak for the data, and I can't speak for anyone else's experiences. All I know is that he didn't totally piss me off before a few weeks ago, roughly at the same time a bunch of other players noticed that he pisses them off too.

I don't know in four years I've been told how I should play by hundreds of survivors. It's pretty rare a killer complains about my gameplay in comparison.
It's funny, the only complaints I've gotten from killers about how I "should" play has been here on the forum. In-game I have never gotten anything negative from a killer. Nothing. Nada. Not one comment that could be construed as even the slightest bit rude in any way. On the contrary, my nicest post-match conversations have been with killers.
Survivors? In-game? Pissing and moaning.

Maybe this user was just trying to do the right thing and curb what he understood to be hacking? Hell, I'd never heard of a "cosmetic glitch" until yesterday and might also have assumed that it would involve the modding of files. I mean the fact alone that discussing how to do it is (understandably) discouraged, but actually doing it in-game isn't bannable, demonstrates that it's kind of a gray area.
I understand that at first glance it's like "wow, what a lame narc", etc., but the guy's heart was probably in the right place.

I do love that Leon has to go inside a locker to build his grenade or whatever. That's code for "we didn't want to make a new animation just for that". XD

@Kirkylad said:
I find killers are louder but make more valid points where survivors say the same things about how killers should play in a way that's fun for them which is pretty damn entitled.
I've actually had several people on this forum tell me that I'm playing wrong by trying to avoid interactions with the killer, as if it says in the game's nonexistent instruction manual that running past the killer and playing tag is rule number five. I play conservatively and it's become quite tiresome to hear killer mains talk about how I'm making their game not fun because in their estimation I just "crouch" or "hide".
So I need to revise my answer. In gameplay experience and general comments I've seen on the forums, survivors seem the most entitled. But, again in my own experience, it's the killer mains who are the most fervent and aggressive about their opinions.
These are all just broad, subjective analyses anyway.
-
I don't know what a TTV is (a clan or some stupid streaming thing, I'm guessing) but I've seen them semi-frequently over the last couple of weeks.
I'm always apprehensive when I see people join my match with obvious team names but so far I have to admit that I've never had the "SWF" experience (being ignored and left to die, etc).

I readily recognize that, generally speaking, survivors are the most entitled.

Okay this discussion is over, just dc against wraith to have fun in dbd.
I've found that in general (I'm not referring to any of you here, I'm not specifying anybody at all because I don't remember names), killer mains feel protective of the Wraith because he was allegedly bottom of the barrel terrible before this recent buff, even though they also argue that the buff was hardly anything and that the Wraith is now only "barely B or C tier", etc. It's a bit hyperbolic.
That said, a lot of survivor mains (including myself) have sometimes been hyperbolic about how godlike the Wraith feels now. I've laid out my reasons for why the character is cheap (I mean it speaks for itself really, the character is super fast, almost completely invisible, all but silent, no longer has to use the bell which was the one warning you had to get up and run, and can lunge super fast from cloaking to hit you). It all seems like a bit much. People make similar arguments against the Spirit constantly and there's often little or no argument. But I guess the Wraith was dismissed by a large portion of the community once better killers came along, and not many people want to admit that now that he's been buffed, he's incredibly cheap.
Others can agree with me and that's fine, I'm not changing my mind and I don't aim to change anyone else's. I write this post not to argue, but to encourage you not to. The people who think that Wraith is fine or poor will continue to think so, and that's their prerogative. You and I can think differently, which is our prerogative. There's support on both sides so don't take it personally.

The OP brings up a valid point about being wildly mismatched in rank and facing a killer who has wall hacks. I'm not saying that people should DC or not, I'm just saying that I could understand the frustration of that situation.

I'm really hyped for the everything! I'm happy it wasn't Lady d, I just finished village and she was pretty lackluster.
I'm a straight male with absolutely zero aversion to breasts but I cringed as soon as I saw the character. Somehow I knew that she would just be a minor element of the game, I guess because usually companies bait and switch with attention-grabbing characters like that. Why push the game when you can push a pair of unrealistically large boobs?
Not saying that I hate Capcom or anything. In fact RE7 is one of my favorite games of all time (not very interested in RE8, I read the summary of the game's story and, while keeping it vague, it doesn't sound like it breaks much new ground or does anything especially interesting). But yeah, when they announced the collaboration I found myself thinking "oh god. PLEASE let them not be sticking globe lady in this game just for the sex appeal".
RE3 was a great choice. So were the characters. While I VASTLY prefer the previous Jill model, this one's alright. The important thing is that it's Jill. Leon looks alright, could be improved. Can't wait for the inevitable Chris and Claire skins. Nemesis is alright, I'm not that impressed with him but it is what it is. The choice was fine, I just don't have much interest in the character himself. The RCPD map is an absolute masterpiece and I pray that BHVR doesn't listen to the people whining that it's too big, too indoor, and needs to be thrown out or cut in half.
All in all, big thumbs up on the chapter.
-
I find Wraith profoundly tedious now. I feel like disconnecting every time I see him (don't worry, I don't. But I desperately want to). Win or lose, I have zero fun facing him. Zero. I just stress out. I feel agitated. When he's not around I'm looking all over the place like "when's he gonna show up for his free hit"? When I'm not doing that, I'm taking the free hit and / or being downed by the second one.
I know, I know. Bla bla, git gud, run loops better, whatever. I don't care. I can't stand the character anymore. Fighting him is just a cheap pain in the ass.
-
Just a yes or no, to avoid the topic as suggested: Was it about a streamer who was beaten and the topic discussed yesterday?

Someone mentioned a cosmetic glitch of some kind yesterday and the thread was almost instantly deleted. Maybe it's because I don't understand what it means and asked about it? I don't know.

Have there been any recent announcements about a plan to work on hit boxes and better game synchronization between Killers and Survivors? Everything that I'm finding in my search is from quite awhile ago.
Just yesterday I vaulted through a window and got hit by the Huntress' regular swing literally a good couple feet away from the window, after I was already back on my feet and running away. I hear about that kind of thing all the time but thought that it was just an exaggeration. It apparently isn't.
In another example that made me actually laugh out loud and say "Oookay" in disbelief, I was running around one of those little hills that usually has a chest and / or hook at the top. You know, those mounds that are about 8 feet high or so with a little slanted path to the top? I and another player were running around one to escape a killer who was on top of it. As the killer came running towards me - again, he's on TOP of the hill - I run up against the side of the hill and duck. The killer goes flying OVER me - literally leaps past me and lands on the opposite side - and he swings as he does it. You better believe that yes, even though he swung while literally LEAPING OVER ME AND LANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE, FACING AWAY FROM ME, his attack still connected with the air in such a way that I was injured by it and was downed.

People just run to the nearest loop or pallet... which sometimes are nearby gens. Instead of sticking around and crying at the survivor for 'bringing him to you', just go to another gen. Not everyone has bond so how would they know where everyone and everything is?
He's got a point though. It IS frustrating to be attempting to make progress only for a chased survivor to basically lead the killer right to you.
That said, to be fair, not everyone uses aura perks, not everyone notices that there's a genny right near where they have to flee, and even if there is one (as was pointed out earlier), it's not always obvious that someone is there working on one. I don't think it's necessarily sabotage (though undoubtedly sometimes it is), I think that in most cases it's just a survivor trying to find the best route to freedom.
-
With, yes, but not by accident. I first joined the forum to ask if there were some sportsmanlike, non-sweaty players who would like to play survivor with me. No voice chat or anything, just like-minded people. I won't name either because I believe that both value their privacy but one is a nice person who revealed himself to be a trans female and the other is a young guy who's a master at looping (he keeps encouraging me to get better at it and I'm like "No, never, I hate it", lol. I haven't happened to have synced up with either of them for a little while.
I think there's a possibility that I found myself in a match against a forum member once, we caught each other in a conversation describing what may have been the same trial, but I can't be sure.

Apologies, I've expressed myself poorly. I don't dislike the map because it is harder for me to get kills. I dislike it because I don't like the reworked graphics and because it reaches an insane level when it comes to pallets.
If I recall correctly, The Game can reach about 24 pallets, and some of them are completely safe. Revert the graphical changes, adjust the number of pallets, and the map is perfect.
No need to apologize, I understand what you're saying. I just mean that the general argument that people seem to have against the map is that it's not as fun for killers, which (to me anyway) doesn't automatically make it a bad map. But some people really despise it for that reason which seems unfair.
However, like I said before, I myself would be fine with them lowering the amount of pallets if that meant that killers would feel that the map is more even. I would be much more in favor of that than cutting the Raccoon City PD map in half or some of the more dramatic changes that killer mains have been asking for.

The line between the two would be if he downed all four and just ran around letting them all bleed to death, wasting several minutes in multiple people's lives for no good reason whatsoever.

yeah luckily i havent faced any other issues besides this stupid crash when i am playing killer!!! Idk where it came from but it has never crashed on me like this before, (after getting the series X)
Lucky for me two survivors put up BPS so i got mine back X2
All I know is that the game seems really unstable in the early hours each day, or at least has been for me.

Honest appraisal: Spirit is really good - I think that the people who declare her absolutely insurmountable (and I do sometimes as well, though usually in the form of jokes) are being a BIT exaggerative, but there's no doubt that she's very tricky to play against. I'm of the opinion that she be nerfed, yes, but nothing extreme. A simple thing such as longer cooldown, a better tell, slower speed, the inability to hear footsteps, basically any one of those things could help to level the playing field a lot.
It's like the new Wraith. Super speed, super lunge, the ability to see auras, the ability to uncloak silently, it's like "okay, maybe pump the brakes a little bit". He doesn't need to be neutered, but a little more balancing doesn't seem out of the question.

The game's overall performance has, for me at least, been noticeably worse over the last couple of weeks. I played 2 months with zero issues, smooth as silk (well, maybe the odd server error disconnect or whatever but it was infrequent). I have now made two topics in a week asking if other people are experiencing the severe issues I've been having. This morning was a MESS. Half a dozen errors that were server related, "unknown", and whatever other things the game blamed it on. And now every day there's always at least a single ten to forty second massive lag spike session that drops the game to like 5 FPS and turns things into a slideshow for no apparent reason. Could happen in the first five minutes, could happen after an hour. But it WILL happen. I'm also getting crazy loading times - the match bar will fill yet I'll still have to sit there a good minute or more before the match actually begins. Once today it was five minutes before I had to force the game to close.
And yes, you're correct: When some server issues kick in, usually after you've gone to begin a match, you lose the items you went in with. That's a serious oversight, I've lost valuable items this way. The game just assumes that you lost, I guess, so it deletes them from your inventory. Not cool at all.

I'm new to the game, so he wouldn't seem "old" to me but i feel like he is near perfect. His addons especially the tombstone piece is really fun to use.
Yeah I've actually seen quite a few people who use Michael really, really well. Just today I was in a game where he slaughtered us all, 1 gen down, and a couple of survivors in red ranks. He was maybe rank 8 or 12 or so.
His gimmick fits his character from the films perfectly. I personally think he's great as is. To me the term "outdated" in this context basically just means "he needs altered abilities". Again (and this is just my opinion) his abilities work very well.
EDIT: On an anecdotal level, Michael is also my (not at all) famous "4K on the Switch Lite while standing inside the entrance of a Walmart during my first month with the game" killer, so that tells me that he can't be THAT bad. :)

I mean the thing I hate most: The Realm Beyond.
The Game was once one of the deadliest maps in DBD. A paradise for stealth killers, and a very good map for the rest of the roster (except Oni and Billy).
If you want to look at the past:

Now, it is literally Pallet Town 2.0 For context, Blood Lodge used to be called Pallet Town because of its sheer amount of pallets. A trait which The Game now shares.
But to be fair (and I like you so don't take this personally) your argument reveals a bias. You basically said "it was great for killers, now it's great for survivors, so now it sucks".
I pretty much only ever see killer mains complaining about it, which tells me that they just don't like that it's harder for them to get kills. That's a perfectly valid complaint, but it's also a one-sided one. That said, I would still be fine with them cutting back on the number of pallets if that made the map more fair. I like it because of just about everything else, I hate the looping crap so pallets mean little to me.

Well, I used to love The Game. It was once a paradise for stealth killers. Now it is Pallet Town 2.0
You already know who is to blame...
I actually don't. Do you mean the devs or survivors? I don't know when the map was changed but I've enjoyed it for the last three months, as long as I've been playing.

What drives me nuts is when something happens, like a survivor being downed or hooked, which naturally diverts my attention just when I'm supposed to be doing the skill check. I hate that, it seems to happen way more often than it should.

I just alt-tab out and check something online or whatever. Or I get up and pet my cats, grab something to drink, or if it's later in the evening throw in The Godfather a few times.

I am Saw fan, there is so much similiar objects from movie. That is only part i love this map. But pallets... They are just so much and so strong. I have to destroy them because they are so strong for mindgames and actually survivors also not trying loop. They are just dropping pallet and running next. Boring map for me.
I'd be totally fine with them reducing the amount of pallets by half. I'd still love the map. Maybe they can try that and see if killers like it more.
